thinking abt an au where dazai convinces chuuya to ditch the pm and join the ada and he gives chuuya his trench coat bc "its tradition for new recruits to receive a piece of clothing from the person who brought them in"
also chuuya totally has to hem it and it STILL is nearly floor-length and he has to actually tie its belt and it goes off his shoulders (yk like that one official art that everyone loves you know the one)
dazai's like “chuuya you dont actually have to wear it if it really is too big we literally have a 21 cm height diff i understand”
but chuuya is so adamant on wearing it bc its the first sign he's gone into the light and it reminds him of detective murase and its a gift from dazai he can't just not wear the oversized trench coat
UPDATE: I drew it

okay listen so yosano needs an extra hand when rearranging some stuff in her apt and asks kenji for help. while there, she finds a skirt that doesn't fit her anymore and asks kenji if he wants to see if it fits. it doesn't (she gives it to naomi), but it was kenji's first time wearing a skirt and he absolutely loves the way the skirt swishes and the spins! oh my god the SPIN!!!
so later in the week, he asks kunikida if they can go to the store to get him a skirt or a dress because he wants to feel the swish again. kunikida agrees, and kenji tries some stuff on, and then he finds a yellow, short-sleeved sundress that goes to his ankles. “kunikida-san! look how it swirls!" he says, then spins for kunikida.
kenji takes it off and is about to put it in the cart when he suddenly hesitates. it's not that he's embarrassed or anything, but would it be weird if he starts wearing typically feminine clothing? he doesn't to make anyone uncomfortable.
kunikida, ofc, says that no one will get upset, and if they do, he'll punch them. kenji laughs and thinks it's a joke but. no. he's serious. kenji then asks if kunikida will wear a skirt or a dress with him to work the next monday. he Really doesn't want to bc dazai is just going to laugh at him and make fun of him the whole time, but he says yes bc it's kenji and he doesn't want kenji to give up on something that makes him happy bc he's nervous about offending people!
so he lets kenji pick a skirt out for him. he ends up getting an ankle-length dark blue skirt that shimmers a bit in the sunlight or if he spins.
it isn't his favorite thing, but he gets why kenji likes the twirl (it is kind of fun).
then, work! kunikida walks in behind kenji (who runs into the office and yells for kyouka to show her the spin) and ranpo takes one look at kunikida and calls for dazai bc he "needs to see this".
and kunikida gets pissed bc great now dazai's going to make fun of him and he'll be miserable all day bc dazai will go all day. but dazai walks in, all casual and nonchalant, and he starts to make a joke but cuts himself off when he sees kunikida.
and suddenly he's having yet another romantic crisis. bc god does kunikida look good in blue and wow he really wants kunikida to twirl so he can see kunikida spin with the skirt flowing around him
and that's how kenji both discovered he likes gender non-conforming clothes and indirectly got kunikidazai together (and, if he could be slick about it, dazai would take a picture of kunikida to send to chuuya)

Here is a skk fic im working on. Its a little strange because its the first one i did and i have it switching POVs so im sorry if thats annoying.
TWS- Men being queer, Being really sick, Throwing up, suicidal topics
Dazai POV:
"At-su-shiii.."
I said looking at the boy who was sweating nervously.
"Y..yes dazai san..?"
 Atsushi asked me.
"Youuuu should do my paperwork for me!"
I smiled widely at him.
"Dazai san I have a life too you know. I can’t always do it for you.."
Atsushi said, smiling warmly as he declined my request.
"Very well..I guess I'll be here late.."
I chuckle to myself as I do work for once in my life..
It was around midnight when I finished the stacks of paper I had let build up on my desk…
I sighed and stretched…That's when I felt a pain in my side..
It was probably nothing. I thought as I grabbed my things and closed up the office.
As I walked home though I had a headache and I felt a bit warm.
I assumed it was just the weather changing or seasonal allergies, nothing too bad…
But oh boy. Was I wrong.
3rd person POV:
As Dazai walked to work the next day he felt incredibly ill..the headache he hoped would go away after sleep did not. And he felt very hot, in fact he was so hot he didn't even grab his trenchcoat that he is almost never seen without. As he entered the agency he almost collapsed in his chair. Sitting down with a loud groan. "You good dazai?"
Ranpo asked,  it came out a bit muffled as a lollipop was in his mouth.
"Yes..Im okay"
Dazai says resting his head on the edge of the desk. The desk was cold which made his warm head feel better.
"I should get doctor Yosano. You look like you need a check up."
Kenji said, smiling as he jumped up and ran to the infirmary.
-20 minutes later-
Dazai had been sat at the cot as Yosano did a check up on him.
"Dazai. Why the hell did you come to work today with a temperature of 98°??"
"I'm just a little sick, it's fine."
Dazai said, holding his chest tightly.
"Go home dazai. This is bad..I can drive you there but you're super ill."
She said resting a hand on his shoulder. Dazai flinched back.
"I’m fine. Yosano. I appreciate the care. But I don't need it. I'm just a bit sick. I will be fine."
Dazai goes to stand up but quickly falls back onto the bed as his legs are too weak to hold him up.
"See. You're sick."
"Just because I fell doesn't mean I'm sick."
Dazai snapped back. He wasn't usually like this. But he just felt angry for no reason..
"Dazai. I'll have Atsushi walk you home.. I just remembered I have work.. And you're not fighting me on this. You're going home."
Yosano said in a tone that gave even dazai chills.
"Very well."
He sighed upset.
A few moments later he was walking with Atsushi. Leaning on him for support.
"Are you sure you're alright Dazai-San?"
Atsushi asked worry hinted in his tone
"Yes. I'm fine. I'm just a little sick.."
Dazai said. Anger hinted in his voice. He wasn't sure where the anger was coming from but it was there..
Eventually dazai convinced Atsushi he would be alright. And that he could leave himself alone. Once dazai was alone however. He felt ill. He didn't know what he did that could have gotten him this sick. He thought back on the days. Maybe it was the water from that drowning attempt. Maybe it was the raw fish in the sushi he convinced Kunikida to buy. Maybe just maybe it was chibi.
"I bet his terrible attitude has made me ill"
Dazai said to himself resting on the cold tile floor to make his warm body feel better.
He laid there for a while. Every time he tried to move he felt as if he was going to throw up. He didn't want to take any medications as he had too big of an ego for that.
As his mind rambled he kept going back to the thought of chuuya. Maybe he would help… This thought caused dazai to laugh out loud which he regretted instantly as a pain filled his chest. The floor suddenly felt too hot to lay on. He pushed himself up and wobbled to the bathroom.
He sat next to the toilet, his knees to his chest as he hid his mouth in his arms trying not to throw up. He felt hot and cold at the same time. He wanted to just die already. This pain was unbearable. Not only that but everytime he breathed his stomach churned and cramped…
"Ughh.."
He groaned.
"Fuck this hurts alot…"
He whined leaning his head into his arms. His sick fatigued body just wanted rest. Eventually he fell asleep laying on some bath mats in the bathroom.
-3 AM that morning-
He woke up to his stomach spinning. He felt himself gag. And start breathing heavily. He leaned over the toilet as he gagged. But nothing came out. His throat hurt as tears filled up the corners. He never cried. No matter the pain. But his sick body wouldn't let him hold back his emotions. Eventually after what seemed like forever he finally threw up.. he leaned over the toilet after still breathing heavily. He knew that he should tell someone he threw up. But he really didn't want pity right now. So he did the logical thing.
Call the one person who couldn’t care less.
Nakahara Chuuya.
Chuuya POV:
I was sitting on my bed mindlessly scrolling on my phone because…I wanted to. When A certain Mackerel called me.
naturally like any good person would.
I declined it.
My day had been good, it's not gonna get worse.. I went back to scrolling then he called again….And again….And again…
"Jesus..what the hell does he even need?"
I said as I stared at the ringing phone
"...."
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT SHITTY MACKEREL?!"
I yelled as I answered the phone.
"H..Heyyyy Chi-"
Dazai was cut off by a gag. Then I heard the sounds of throwing up.
"oh fuck. Gross."
I said, holding my hand over my mouth.
"Sorry chibi.."
He coughed as he spoke.
"You sound like shit."
I say holding my stomach with one hand.
"Yeah. I couldn't tell…Anyway. You should. Come over and help me out..Please."
Dazai said. He sounded like he meant it. But I bet he was just fucking with me.
"Sorry. You're sick. You deal with it. Goodbye."
I said hanging up, not listening to him.
I sat there for a few minutes staring at the end call screen. I thought about his voice. The sounds. Everything sounded legit…Maybe he was sick…No that's not possible, Dazai never gets sick that badly. Besides, he would've called someone more important. Like the agency..Or I don't know. Not me. He knows I dont give a shit. I mean. It’s not like I'm actually gonna go help. He doesn't deserve it. He left me alone. Why should I help?
3rd person POV:
Dazai sat on the floor of the bathroom. The same spot he had been for the past 8 hours. When there was a knock at his door. He forced himself up using the bathtub as support as he slowly walked to the front door.
He slowly cracked it. And there stood a ginger. Short as can be looking as grumpy as ever. He opened the door more still Leaning on it for full support.
"Hey there chibi…"
Dazai said in a hoarse voice.
"Move you suicidal Maniac."
Chuuya said walking past dazai. He went straight to the kitchen and grabbed something. Dazai sat at the couch and leaned on the armrest.
A few moments later chuuya came back with some water and a container of medicine.
"Take it you fucking fish."
He said holding the water cup and pills in front of dazai.
"No..I don't need them."
Chuuya stared at the man who just threw up on a call not even 30 minutes ago.
"Dazai just take the fucking medication. It will help I swear."
Chuuya said, holding the pills closer to dazai's face.
"No. I don't need them. I told you I'll be okay without them."
Dazai said, looking away from the ginger with a pouty face. Chuuya sighed in anger.
"Fine"
Chuuya said, taking a gulp of water and putting the pills in his mouth. He had to be quick so they didn’t disintegrate in the water.
He grabbed Dazai by the chin, forcing his face to look at him. Then with no explanation kissed dazai. Dazai made a small grunt which was enough to get chuuya to get the pills in dazai's mouth. Dazai swallowed and pulled back breathing heavily.
"Ugh. Fuck you. It would've been easier if you took them normally."
Chuuya said, crossing his arms and walking back to the kitchen.
Dazai just sat there confused and a bit warm although he was sure he had broken the fever…
Chuuya stayed in the kitchen screaming at himself on the inside. He had no idea why the hell he kissed dazai. He tried convincing himself it wasn't a kiss it was merely a mouth to mouth like lifeguards do. He needed to help so that's why he did that. <I know what you are, chuuya>. Chuuya heard dazai groan and walked back over to him.
"Why are you making so much noise..Just die slowly."
Chuuya said sitting on the couch a few spots away separating the two.
"Gee thanks chibi."
Dazai said, leaning back on the sofa.
"What's wrong with you anyway P.O.S?"
Chuuya asked, looking at the unnaturally super pale brunette.
"I'm sick, what else shorty?" Dazai said looking at him dead faced then going back to holding his stomach. Chuuya stared at the brunette then scoffed looking away.
“Your an ass you know that”
He grumbled. Dazai coughed and gave a weak smile.
“Yeah I know”
Chuuya looked at Dazai. He watched the brunette shiver.
“Are you cold?”
Chuuya asked, looking at him with a raised brow. Dazai was holding his chest shivering.
“No, I'm okay.”
Dazai lied holding himself tightly. Chuuya stared at the brunette. He sighed and moved closer to the taller one holding him tightly in a warm embrace. Dazai’s eyes widened as the ginger held him.
“What the hell are you doing chibi?!”
He said trying to move but his fatigued body combined with the Chuuya tight hold on him, He couldn't.
“Shut up mackerel. You are freezing. So stop being a little bitch and stay here.”
Chuuya grumbled leaning back holding the taller one’s back while Dazai laid there on his chest shivering.
Dazai POV:
I laid there on Chibi's chest listening to his heartbeat. As much as I hated it. It was warm… Ugh this slug is gonna get it when I feel better.
“You slug this is gay”
“Shut the fuck up.”
I grumbled something then went back to listen to his heart beat. It was a good distraction from my stomach hurting.
Eventually I fell asleep…
-One hour later-
I woke up still cuddled with Chuuya. Who seemed to be still asleep. I managed to get up without waking him. Which wasn't hard cause he was such a deep sleeper. I walked to the bathroom. And looked in the mirror. My hair had been a mess, it was all disheveled and greasy. My face looked paler than usual, I had sunken cheekbones and My eye bags were far worse than they usually are. I turned the faucet on and put warm water on my face. I looked back up at the mirror.
Chuuya POV:
I woke up to a loud crashing sound from the bathroom. I shot up from the couch and noticed Dazai wasn't sitting there.
“That shitty mackerel.”
I grumbled walking to the bathroom. I tried to open the door but it was locked,
“Hey open the door Dazai.”
I said jiggling the handle. There was just silence back.
“Dazai im not fucking joking open the door.”
I said forcefully trying to open it.
“DAZAI OPEN THE DOOR”
I yelled banging on the door again.
Still no answer. I stood there conflicted. Do I leave him alone or do I try to open it..
"This bitch better be dying or I'm gonna be pissed."
I grumbled kicking the door, It flew open. And I saw Dazai leaning over the bathtub. He had a pair of scissors in his hand and bandages were on the floor.
"...."
I stood there. Shaking. I stared at him, my legs not moving. Finally my legs let me move. I ran over pulling him into my lap. As I did this I saw blood on his head. With cuts all on his wrists. He was breathing. Barely.
"Dazai..What the fuck."
I said, still shaking. I held him tight to my chest. Eventually after I gathered myself I sat him up against the wall. And grabbed some bandages laying on the floor. I wrapped them along his arms and around his head.
"Chibi?"
He muttered, opening his eyes to me.
"What the hell is wrong with you?!"
I said holding his face with my hands.
“I didn't mean to fall…”
He said looking at me with a sly smile. It was definitely faked.
“FALL? THAT'S NOT WHAT I'M WORRIED ABOUT DUMBASS.”
I yelled, holding him tighter.
"Do you know how fucking worried I was?! And I'm never worried about you."
I yelled, holding his face tight. He just stared at me. With those stupid brown eyes.
"I'm sorry Chuuya."
He said resting his hands on mine. I scoffed.
"It's gonna take a lot more than an apology."
I said narrowing my eyes at him
"To bad im sick I had just the idea"
He said with a sly smile. I stared at him unphased
"I hate you. Now take your medicine." I said picking him up as if he was a wet cat. He squirmed a bit. I ignored it.
"Take it."
I said handing it to him. After twenty minutes of arguing he took the medicine. He fell asleep shortly after. I sighed as I looked at the bandages on his body.
“Stupid mackerel.”
I mumbled holding him close.
3rd person POV:
Chuuyas phone rang for the 5th time. He finally woke up and answered it.
“What.”
He grumbled as dazai rested on him.
“You havent shown up to work in 3 days what the fuck!? Where are you?!””
A worried yet angry female yelled. Chuuyas eyes widened.
“3 days?! Shit has it really been that long….”
He mumbled.
“Sorry Kouyou.. I've been helping a friend out….”
He sighed, rubbing his head.
“You? Help someone?”
She scoffed.
“I’ll let Mori know you're busy for the rest of the day. But you Have to come in soon.”
She sighs hanging up. Chuuya put his phone away and rested against the couch.
“Those detectives are probably worried…Maybe I should call them…”
He muttered. Suddenly a knock was heard at the door. He looked at dazai and carefully moved him. He walked over to the door yawning. He cracked open the door so only a bit of his face was seen.
“Hello? Dazai-San?”
A voice said shakily. Chuuya opened the door.
“Dazai is resting. What can I do for you atsushi?”
He says looking at him with a small smile on his face. Atsushi gasped a bit, probably surprised that a port mafia executive was there. But he relaxed a bit and smiled.
“Hello Chuuya-San.”
He said with a small bow.
“What do you need, kid?”
“I was just checking on Dazai-San, he hasn't answered any calls. And he hasn't showed up to work..”
He mumbled rubbing the back of his head nervously.
“Yeah..He got pretty sick. But he is doing better..”
Chuuya said, looking the weretiger up and down.
“Oh! That's great!”
He smiled a big smile causing chuuya to chuckle. Thinking of last night. That was not a “Great” Experience. But he didn't want to worry the tiger.
“Indeed. I would let you in. But I would have to check with dazai and he is still asleep.”
Chuuya gives a small smile. Just then a hand wrapped around his waist (atsushi couldn't see)
“Hello atsushi”
A weak voice came from dazai who had rested his chin on chuuyas shoulder.
“Dazai?!”
Atsushi and Chuuya said in surprise.
“Why aren't you sleeping…”
Chuuya said, side eyeing him.
“Cause I don't wanna,”
He said with a sly smile before directing his attention to Atsushi.
“Hello ‘sushi”
He smiles weakly
“Hello Dazai! Are you feeling better?”
“I am thank you.”
Dazai smiles, tightening his grip on Chuuyas waist earning a small grunt from Chuuya who tried to hide it as a cough.
“Well I brought you some soup if you want some”
He smiled while holding it out to Chuuya and Dazai.
“Ah thank you Atsushi”
Chuuya smiled while taking the soup. They all said goodbye and closed the door.

Summary of the BSD Stage Dead Apple Synopsis
Tumblr media
Under the cut for Spoilers!
▼Beginning
The play starts with Atsushi looking for Dazai (as tasked by Kunikida to attend the ADA mtg) Differing from the movie, he doesn't find him.
Atsushi meets Shibusawa on the street instead when Shibusawa saved an elderly crossing the street, making him think that Shibusawa is a kind person.
Atsushi thinks that they have met somewhere before but can't remember it exactly.
Kyouka then meets Atsushi about the Ability Users Suicide Case.
▼Akutagawa pursues Shibusawa
Chuuya and Akutagawa are talking on the phone. Akutagawa is tasked to pursue Shibusawa as the perpetrator of the Dragon Head Conflict.
However, Akutagawa was physically attacked by Dazai from behind - he snapped Aku’s neck, then stepped on him - causing him to lose consciousness (though he recognizes Dazai before passing out).
Dazai then comes with Shibusawa.
▼Chuuya and Akutagawa scene
The day when Dazai took Akutagawa to the Port Mafia is shown. Akutagawa wakes up from the dream and remembers Dazai attacked him.
An Ability user suddenly comes out of nowhere. Akutagawa fights him and realizes that he can't use Rashomon.
Chuuya comes to save him. Apparently, it's an Ability that got separated from its user.
Chuuya then explains Shibusawa's Ability and says that the mist engulfing Yokohama is actually the breath of a dragon.
Akutagawa then asks why Chuuya's Ability doesn't separate from him.
Chuuya answers that his Ability is quite special and isn't something small that can be taken easily by this fog. And if his Ability happens to separate from him, it will be the end of Yokohama.
Chuuya gives Akutagawa a new mission - to kill Dazai, because he's the one who took Shibusawa to Yokohama.
Akutagawa laughs, saying that he doesn't believe that because the Dazai now wants peace in Yokohama.
Chuuya laughs at him. He says that he's known Dazai for 7 years and were once partners so he knows Dazai - he knows that no one can tell what Dazai is thinking. There's a monster inside Dazai that no one can understand.
Aku claims that he can understand Dazai so Chuuya asks him why Dazai left the Mafia, but Aku couldn't answer. Chuuya says that he doesn't care if Aku looks up to Dazai but as for him, he's never looked up to Dazai even once. He then tells him to his face that Aku going all "Dazai-san, Dazai-san" and accepting everything he says - is probably the reason why Dazai doesn't approve of him.
Aku gets mad and attacks him to no avail. Chuuya taunts him further saying that if he doesn't do something about this mist, he'll remain weak.
Rashomon appears in the background. Chuuya says that Rashomon is just looking at him and not attacking him as if putting Aku to a test.
Chuuya says that without his Ability, Aku can never land a single punch at him.
Aku accepts the mission and says that he will beat Chuuya right after.

▼White Trio at Mukurotoride
Dazai walks to the center. There's a voice-over of Oda when he told Dazai that the good or bad side doesn't make much difference to him.
Shibusawa arrives.
Dazai says he's happy working with him.
Fyodor arrives saying that Shibusawa shouldn't believe Dazai. (Fyodor does a mini violin performance, talk about grand entrance lol)
It seems that Dazai didn't know beforehand that Fyodor is part of the plan.
Fyodor says that he's just a rat on the side that will help a bit.
Dazai realizes that Fyodor's role is to keep him in check.
Shibusawa says that he can actually accomplish all his plans on his own without them, but it would be boring.
Dazai agrees that it indeed wouldn't be boring because no one knows who will betray who.

▼Atsushi, Aku, Kyouka in the Mafia passage
Atsushi argues with Aku on the way, saying things that it's his fault that Kyouka suffered in the Mafia. He told them that he should never come close to Kyouka ever and talk as if he knows her.
Aku then retorts back asking Atsushi what he actually knows about Kyouka.
Atsushi says that he knows a lot stating things like Kyouka likes tofu and bunnies, and hates lightning.
Aku asks him about her past but Atsushi wasn't able to answer. Aku narrates that Kyouka's parents were killed by Demon Snow and she was picked up by the Mafia, and was then trained by a Port Mafia Executive known as the best Assassin in the world (in reference to Verlaine).
Aku then adds that he also knows that Kyouka hates flies and dogs, and likes ghosts and hydrangeas. He knows more about Kyouka so it's his win.
Unable to come up with other things about Kyouka, Atsushi resorts to bickering.
Atsushi: You're a sore loser!
Aku: Orphanage castaway!
Sushi, visibly hurt from Aku's comeback: You don't change clothes!
Aku, visibly hurt from Sushi's comeback:  I wash it every time!
Sushi: Huh? Do you also wear that when sleeping?
Aku: I'm gonna kill you!
They were then stopped by Kyouka.
Before they go out of the passageway, Kyouka attempts to check if her phone can connect somewhere.
Aku gently stops her telling her that that phone is the one used to control her Ability and would be bad if it connects.
Kyouka says that there's nothing to worry about because there's no signal.
Kyouka asks him if Aku tried the Mafia's communication device and Aku says that it can't connect too.
(Note: When Aku talks to Kyouka his voice is calm and softer than usual)
Atsushi, feeling out of place, silently watches them from the side. "You two, you actually get along well, huh..."

▼Demon Snow Battle
The trio go back outside the streets and comes to face Demon Snow. They ran back to the Mafia passageway but Demon Snow just follows them and slices the door. Byakko then also appears.
Kyouka's phone rings. When she answers it, the scene flashbacks to the time when her parents died (same scene with the manga) with her mom explaining what truly happened, and then advises Kyouka how to control Demon Snow.
They were able to beat Demon Snow after and the Ability goes back to Kyouka.
▼More Aku, Atsushi, and Kyouka
Aku, Atsushi, and Kyouka continue to walk in the mist-covered street. Atsushi suggests to Kyouka that they should hold hands so they don't get separated. Kyouka agreed and held out her hand, but then asked Atsushi about Aku.
Sushi: Eh?
Kyouka:
Sushi: Eh?
Kyouka: Should I hold his hand?
Sushi: No way!
Kyouka: Then you should hold his hand
Sushi: Ehhhh, t-there's no way I would... i-it's Akutagawa...
Kyouka:
Sushi: Aahh, there are no other hands in here so fine!
Atsushi settles to offer the dangling part of his belt for Aku to hold on to (lol he's pointing his ass in the process because the belt is on his back like a tail). Aku reaches for it, but was taken away by Rashomon before Atsushi and Kyouka can see him
▼Aku vs Rashomon Battle
Aku uses his gun to fight against Rashomon. Just when he thought he won, he is then caught and pierced by Rashomon. At first Aku thought that Rashomon is fighting him to test if he's worth it as Rashomon's "owner", but then realized that Rashomon is actually filled with wrath - Aku's wrath towards his weak self.
Scenes flashback to Chuuya telling Aku why Dazai doesn't approve of him, of Atsushi telling him that he lost against him and is still not recognized by Dazai, and of Dazai telling him that his new subordinate is better and he doesn't need Aku.
Aku makes Rashomon remember all these, of what they went through, of what they are mad about, of what they both desire. If Aku doesn't beat Rashomon then he will be a part of Shibusawa's collection and will never get what they desire.
Before Rashomon ends Aku, he sets the bomb off and beats him eventually.
Aku returns to Atsushi and Kyouka thereafter, and Atsushi was surprised to see him covered in bruises.
▼White Trio Betrayal Scene
Fyodor sees Dazai suspiciously trying to enter the Draconia room. They went inside after Fyodor tells him that Shibusawa is not there. Dazai reveals his motives to Fyodor, and Fyodor hands him the crystals. Before Dazai can touch them Shibusawa stabs him from behind. Dazai dies. (scenes are almost the same as the movie)
After Dazai dies, Shibusawa also kills Fyodor, grabbing him on the top of his head, lifting him up, and then breaking his neck.
Shibusawa laughs (like a villain) saying that his plans succeeded.
▼More Aku, Atsushi, and Kyouka
Aku, Atsushi, and Kyouka are riding an elevator, standing side by side. Because the ride is taking quite long, Atsushi tries to make small talk to relieve the awkward atmosphere.
Sushi: Your Ability has returned to you, right? How does it feel?
Aku: None of your business.
*silence*
Sushi: Looking from this angle, your nose looks nice. (literally "you have a high-bridged nose" used as a compliment in Jp)
*silence*
Sushi: Aahh, with this three the talk is going nowhere..
Kyouka: *tries to narrate Momotaro (a popular Jp folklore)*
Sushi: Ah, I'm sorry Kyouka-chan, I didn't mean to force you
▼Chuuya at the Special Ability Dept
Chuuya arrives at the Special Ability Department Office. He is stopped by the guards but Chuuya beats them all (fight scenes were shown).
Chuuya arrives at the main office, but Ango is only showing up in the scene via a video screen. Tsujimura is in the office btw.
Chuuya and Ango talk about the government's involvement with Shibusawa (same with the movie).
Chuuya threatens Ango that he will kill the people in the office if Ango doesn't tell him about the case of Shibusawa now.
▼White Trio
Shibusawa takes Dazai's Ability crystal, but realizes that it is not the one he's been looking for.
Fyodor suddenly appears from his back, shooting Shibusawa with a gun.
Apparently, the one Shibusawa killed earlier was not Fyodor himself, but his separated Ability.
Fyodor then kills Shibusawa with a knife, making him remember his death (same with the movie).
▼Dragon Appears
Fyodor does his poetry speech about the dragon lol
The dragon appears as animation in the background.
Deadly Drive plays as bg music after!
Ango asks Chuuya to fight the dragon, believing that only his Ability can do it just as when they fought Guivre in the past.
Chuuya complains that the government just always does nothing but order people around while not getting their hands dirty.
He accepts the mission and asks Ango's life in return.
▼Chuuya vs Dragon
Plane scene with Tsujimura is almost the same as the movie. Chuuya throws his gloves and activates Corruption.
This scene involves his actor Uechan flying in a harness, where he did flips a few times. On his background is an animation of the levitated rubbles and the building he used to throw at the dragon.
Bless Uechan's throat for all the screaming
Tumblr media
▼Soukoku scene
Chuuya shouts Dazai's name, and punches him waking him up. Dazai touches his cheek to deactivate Corruption. (Same lines with the movie, yes Dazai is still Snow White)
Chuuya asks him to let go but Dazai refuses saying that the place they are in is where the mist is the most concentrated and Arahabaki will end up separating from him.
Tumblr media
▼Atsushi reflection with Byakko
Atsushi realizes that the orphanage director must have known that he killed Shibusawa, but wondered why he never told him.
The orphanage director appears at the end saying that he hid the truth from Atsushi because he thought Atsushi wouldn't be able to accept it and would be crushed (mentally) once he knew about himself.
▼Aftermath
Bokura plays in the bg
Aku leaves
Dazai arrives saying that Atsushi was saved because of them
Atsushi butts in saying that Dazai was the one who did
(same lines with the movie)
After Atsushi says the "more beautiful" line, Oda's voice-over plays when he told Dazai to go to the side that saves people because that's a little bit more beautiful.
▼Aftermath Chuuya
Ango calls Chuuya saying that the battle is finished thanks to them, and now he's ready to give his life in return.
Chuuya just laughs at him saying that his life isn't enough to pay for this. He also tells him that he understands that Ango was just a small fry in the government six years ago so wasn't able to do anything about the Shibusawa case. Ango thanks him but still tries to insist but Chuuya hangs up.
Tumblr media
Akutagawa shows up, but he doesn't bow at Chuuya (unlike in the movie) and just continues walking after Chuuya told him that Dazai is alive. Chuuya calls him to lend his shoulder because he can't move and gestures him to come closer.
Aku does and Chuuya laughs at how unwilling he looks and asks if Aku is still mad that Chuuya called him weak. Aku says that he's not bothered at all.
Chuuya tells him that he shouldn't worry because they're both included in Dazai's plans, which means that Dazai thinks that they are essential in beating Shibusawa.
Aku remains silent. Chuuya then tells him that as Dazai's ex-partner, he's gonna say it - that Dazai approves of Aku. At the very least, Chuuya does approve of him too.
Aku just says that he's nothing compared to Chuuya.
Tumblr media
▼Days after
Atsushi and Kyouka are back at the Agency, where they wave off to everyone as they go on a new mission.
Voice-overs of the ADA stage play cast were played sending them off.
Tanizaki: Take care!
Naomi: Stay safe!
Kunikida: Don't forget your report after.
Ranpo: Get me sweets on your way home!
Yosano: If possible, go back here with injuries, okay?
Kenji: Let's eat some gyudon later!
Fukuzawa: Atsushi, Kyouka, take care and come back safely.
▼Closing
Chuuya talks to Mori on the phone, reporting that the mission has been accomplished.
However, he gets instructed to do the send-off or the farewell greeting to the fans on the stage.
Chuuya, angrily to the audience: What are you looking at, huh?
Send-off? *takes a sit elegantly and stares at the crowd*
Ugh, okay,, *stands up*
Be careful not to be engulfed by the mist when you go home, okay? See ya.

Hi hi again can i get scenario where dazai has a calm and polite s/o and they bump into chuuya, when chuuya finds out that they are his s/o he asks them why do they like him. s/o talks about he's so good to her and everything about dazai without knowing that dazai was listening the whole time and u know just some fluff please :)) thank you
Honey |Dazai x Calm/polite Reader|
Today’s sunset was extraordinarily beautiful. Maybe, it was the nice moment that you and your boyfriend were finally spending. The past weeks had been built with stressful turns and boorish circles. Tonight marked the end of such things. The red of the sunset fading as you step into the bar. It was normal for you to arrive early but for Dazai to get there moments before the clock turned to mark him late. Hanging your jacket up you walked over to the bar. Taking a seat you ordered the usual two drinks for you and Dazai. Thinking about it now this was a weird place for a date, though on another hand it wasn’t. He does often find himself at bars while you're off doing things. It’s a habit of his, but usually, it’s the Lupin he recommends. You had never been here before.
Deciding to down a drink or two while you waited, you struck a conversation up with the person working tonight's shift. You were always quite polite, if they asked you to shut up you would have. They never said such things though. How could they when you smiled so polite, flashing a brightness to their day. You even politely held yourself. The chime of the door opening caused you to politely bow your head before looking over to see who it was. Expecting it to be Dazai who was already just over a minute late you were shocked to see a different male. Without sighing or showing anything but a calm polite expression, you turned and faced back to the bar to further the conversation.
Asking for another drink you smiled sweetly, taking small sips as to not chug the drink. Looking at the clock you became slightly worried, it wasn’t unknown Dazai tended to be late to such meetings, but it was abnormal for him to be late to one of your dates. Especially since there is hardly ever time to spend much alone time together. “Waiting on somebody?” the ginger beside you asked as he ordered a glass of wine. Swishing it in his hand you made the connection.
Politely you nodded your head. Despite how you disapproved of the mafia executive you never showed anything but a clam polite expression. “I am, is there a reason a mafioso like yourself is interested?” you looked to him, keeping the polite tone to your voice.
Chuuya merely shrugged, leaning back to swallow his glass in one go. “Didn’t think you drank.” he shrugged, watching you shrug and turn back to your drink. Taking another sip you shivered already feeling light in the head.
Deciding to give the small male a reply, you set the glass back down, letting the ice clink lightly against the glass in the silence. “Well, I don’t normally drink, but dates do tend to wind up in quick places like this.” shrugging once again you lifted the glass to your lips again.
Chuuya may be a ball of fire ready to explode at any given moment, but he wasn’t an idiot, not a big one at least. It was a given that based on being here your date had to be somebody who didn’t mind places located in the middle of conflicts. Neither mafia territory nor safe, this bar was one of many who served cops, gangs, mafioso's, and even detectives. It had no obligation, so spilling information was never a problem. The only thing silencing them from spilling anything they heard, would be fear. If he had to make a wild guess, it would be somebody you worked close to, somebody with enough risk to end up in a place like this. Nearly spitting the drops of wine in his mouth from his lips, he swallowed coughing lightly. “Don’t tell me, somebody like you, a huge pushover, with Dazai?”
Turning to him, you tilted your head before shaking it lightly with disapproval. “First, it would be appreciated if you could be a bit polite. I’m not a pushover. I'm simply collected and know how to act respectfully, even to those who I don't agree with, such as you.” you paused to finish your glass and ask for another refill. Time had passed quickly, and you noticed Dazai was now four minutes late. “Second, Dazai and I are none of your business, Mr. Nakahara-san.”
It bothered him how weirdly respectful you were. Since everybody called him Chuuya, it was weird that he could never get you to use the first name. No matter how many times he screamed at you to just call him Chuuya. “Why do you even like him? He’s a suicidal maniac with no sense of loyalty.”
Sighing you looked to the ceiling, taking yet another sip of the drink you’d ordered. “Why? That’s easy, he’s cold at first but underneath he’s kind. He’s closed off but if you can break into the shell there is so much there. He’s good-looking, strong, protective. He knows how to respect boundaries. He’s actually rather loyal when he wants to be. He goes to great lengths to protect the ones he cares about. His jokes can be cringe and dark, but they make me smile. Then, the suicidal part, he’s genuinely depressed, but it’s alright because I’m there for him now. He’s there for me when I break down, so I support him on bad days. He’s an amazing person once you get past all the walls.” there was a slight blush to your cheeks as you spoke.
Despite having so many more praises to say, hands hung over your shoulders. A pair of lips reaching to your ear. “Do say more~” it wasn’t meant to be seductive, more, a playful tease.
Turning red you turned to face the brunette you had been talking on and on about. His glimmering eyes looking to yours as he stood up straight. Chuuya was up and gone in moments. “I don’t have the energy to deal with you today.” Dazai didn’t pay him any mind. Taking the seat next to you with a smile.
“Sorry for being so late! I got held back at the office. Stupid Kunikida and his determination to get me to file reports.” pouting as he took a sip of the drink laid before him, you snickered. Moving to mess with his hair you moved past the initial embarrassment.
“Maybe if you did some of it, he'd be less grumpy all the time! A-also, how long were you there?” you mumbled, once more becoming embarrassed as you thought about him overheating all the things you said about him.
One of his deadly, overconfident, and almost sadistic smirks crossed his lips. “I was there the entire time~” he purred, leaning to kiss your cheek with his lips.
Huffing in embarrassment it was your turn to pout. “You could have come up to me and said hi when you walked in.”
He merely snickered, messing your hair up as he shrugged. “But it was so entertaining and heart-warming to hear you say such nice things about me!” he’d never say it, but his heart had paced a million miles and his cheeks had become roses themselves. He’d never received compliments or praise like that before.
The two of you spent the rest of the night exchanging laughs and pestering one another. Embarrassing the other in any given chance before leaving the bar to spend some cuddles and quality time together at your apartment.

random bungou stray dogs hc's that exist in my head
Tumblr media
a/n: no real reason for me writing this other than the fact that i’m depressed and need to procrastinate on my studies and other WIP’s dklajdlas hope you guys like this (there might be a pt. 2)
akutagawa is Banned from drinking coffee. mori himself forbids him from ever drinking it
thats because the first time he drank it (in a meeting when chuuya was serving coffee) he just went completely fidgety and broke the ceiling with rashomon
so no coffee for him. ever.
higuchi tries to quit coffee too because akutagawa-senpai doesn’t drink. she ended up crying on day 3 without coffee
also, contrary to what everyone thinks, akutagawa is very much a cat person
he doesn’t go out of his way to pet cats but he thinks they’re cool and doesn’t mind if they rub themselves against his legs
and then fukuzawa was walking around and found akutagawa pretty much doing nothing and is yet still surrounded by cats and he feels so fUCKING BETRAYED
he carries cat snacks and everything AND THE CATS STILL WON’T NOTICE HIM
fukuzawa feels a bit better about atsushi wrecking akutagawa’s ass in their first fight
ranpo visits the convenience store near his house SO MUCH that all the employees already know him by name
ranpo thus makes it a point to remember their names and ask a lot of personal questions about their life that he just randomly deduced
sometimes he opens the snacks and eats them already without paying for them but they let ranpo off the hook
dazai actually knows how to play the keytar. he learned back when he was in the mafia because it pissed off chuuya so much
he also cuts his hair by himself but it always ends up disaster so he calls kunikida to help him
at first kunikida’s like ‘no it’s not in my schedule’ but dazai sends him a pic and he’s like ‘ok i’m on my way’
he’s actually very, very intimidated by the sole fact that someone like kenji exists
that’s because dazai accidentally opened up about his entire life story to kenji after just a few minutes of knowing each other and the fact that kenji hasn’t used it to his advantage frightens him
everyone in the ADA has tried to scare kenji at some point but every single one of them failed
kenji likes giving people cow-print socks on christmas and they look horrendous but everyone wears them
atsushi loves collecting mugs and whenever he buys one, he always buys another one for kyouka
that said, recipes involving mugs and a microwave fascinate him and he tries to make mug cakes as much as he can
kyouka personally isn’t a fan of these mug cakes (she thinks they’re weird) but it makes atsushi happy so she can’t bring herself to say no
atsushi has only said ‘fuck’ once and that was after he was so shocked at hearing kyouka say ‘fuck’ that he just yelled ‘KYOUKA-CHAN SAID FUCK’ only for dazai to go ‘ATSUSHI SAID FUCK’
not a good time for fukuzawa and kunikida to come in with a very esteemed visitor
kunikida does a fair amount of yoga to keep himself sane
but he does have a tendency to emit a low-pitch scream when the instructors tell them to let out their worries
he has a book full of crossword puzzles that he likes to work on in his spare time but then one day he came to the office to find that ranpo had filled out every single one
kunikida has never considered punching ranpo but he did for one second
he is ASHAMED of this but he did use his notebook once in a while to make a spare key to his apartment because he keeps losing his keys
jk dazai steals them from him
chuuya makes Really Good Coffee, specializing in drip coffee in particular
the reason why he wears black a lot is because the coffee stains would be less visible
he’s actually REALLY BAD at technology. he’s been so busy working at the mafia that the whole smartphone revolution went past his head but he still only knows how to work a flip phone
yosano sometimes wears a nice dress to work but that’s only when all her other clothes are in the laundry
she actually visits the port mafia casinos quite often and is a sucker for slot machines. she wears a really long coat when she goes to visit and mori was pretty sure he saw her once
yosano definitely saw him and proceeded to hit her head against the slot machine so that she’d look like just another crazy casino-goer
the tanizaki siblings love buying matching phone charms and switching them out every few weeks
they actually rehearsed that part where tanizaki pretended to bomb the agency with a whole script and everything
tanizaki has maybe used his light snow once in a while to skip out on work and play video games in the corner and ranpo noticed but he promised not to say as long as he was in on it
chuuya accidentally called kouyou ‘mom’ at one point and the two of them just stared at each other before swearing to never speak about it again
kouyou has probably used golden snow once in a while to help her dress and she needs help with dressing because she conceals knives everywhere
the metal detectors light up like a christmas tree whenever she passes by them so no, she doesn’t go to malls much
while elise has a sweet tooth, mori is really into salty food. it’s quite addicting for him actually
for the longest time, people thought that the mug on his desk was full of coffee but no, it’s actually just salted peanuts that he snacks on while doing paperwork
he actually doesn’t know how to play chess. people assume he does because he’s an evil mastermind but mori can’t remember the rules please stop asking him if he can play chess

Blood Chapter 4 - Discovery
Sooooo...it's been over a year. Truly doesn't feel like it on my end but timestamps don't lie! Talk about a hectic year...
Firstly, a huge apology for the time it took to get this chapter out! There are a whole bunch of reasons but they can pretty much be summed up into 'uni has been kicking my ass and this chapter was incredibly difficult to write'. Unfortunately, I don't have much choice but to put life first, but I apologise nevertheless for this chapter taking so long. ...and for still being as unpolished as the chapters I churn out in a couple days XD
Anyways, I won't keep you here too long when there's a new chapter to read so without further ado... I really hope this chapter was worth the wait. Enjoy!!
"Glad to see you're looking better, Dazai," Atsushi stopped by Dazai's desk with a smile as Dazai packed his things away.
"Well, a few days off definitely did me some good," Dazai returned the smile and shut his laptop, picking it up.
"Oh? Are you taking your laptop with you?"
"If he says it's for work, I won't believe it." Kunikida shut the filing cabinet drawer with a sceptical look.
"Oh Kunikida, do you really have such little faith in me?" Dazai pouted, acting hurt. "As a matter of fact, I'm going to read through what I missed last week. I have been off for a week and a half after all...but...if you prefer, I suppose I could catch up during the workday~"
"Absolutely not. If I see you slacking off and reading last week's files during the workday, I'll add more work to compensate."
"Then I guess I'll be taking this home then~" Dazai shifted his grip on the laptop and headed to the door. "See you all tomorrow~"
Dazai left the office and took the lift down to ground level, making his way slowly to the Port Mafia headquarters. The added weight of the laptop did nothing to preserve his stamina, and by the time he arrived at the garage, he was exhausted once again.
"Look alive, Dazai, you've got a job to do," Chuuya grinned as he appeared from one of the side doors.
"You're not the one low on blood cells," Dazai did his best to catch his breath, but it'd be a few minutes before he'd recover.
"Hah! You always did have shitty physical health,"
The door to the garage began to whir and the door opened, allowing two small cars to drive out.
"Lucky for you, we're driving to the test site."
"Not taking any chances, eh? I thought you had confidence in your candidates."
"You misunderstand, Dazai, it's you I don't have confidence in, especially in your state." Chuuya walked to the first car and beckoned for Dazai to follow, getting into the front passenger seat.
"Ah yes, especially after over two years of trusting me with your life~" Dazai followed him and sat in the back, pulling his laptop out of his bag.
The two cars pulled away and began their journey to the test site. Dazai kept himself occupied with his laptop while Chuuya spoke with the driver.
"Today's a big day," the driver, Haruki, said with a smile. "I hope it all goes well,"
"Yeah, well, first trials are always messy, but I'm glad you agreed to do this. I feel a lot more confident knowing you'll be there."
Haruki chuckled and shook her head. "I may be the best sniper in the Port Mafia, but don't overestimate my abilities. I'm just an ordinary person, after all,"
"Oi, this isn't the time to be humble! I'm putting my life on the line here. The least you can do is have some faith in yourself."
The two of them shared a laugh.
"Saying that, though," Chuuya continued once the laughter had died down, "Don't get disheartened if you miss at first. Corruption isn't exactly something normal,"
"What happened to that faith in me, eh?" Haruki gave him a gentle nudge. "Every sniping situation is different. I'm sure I can handle it."
"I'm sure you can, but you weren't here when Double Black was still active. The older members at least know what it looks like from a distance. You don't,"
"Well, that's why we're doing the trials, isn't it? There's five of us and you brought Dazai just in case it all goes spectacularly wrong, so don't worry."
"Yeah, you're right," Chuuya smiled again and settled into his seat. "I'll trust you guys to keep me safe,"
The two of them continued to talk amongst themselves while Dazai tapped away on his laptop. Kunikida was right to think he wasn't taking his laptop to catch up on work as, at that moment, he was scanning the ADA database for any potential clues about who Rand was. The sheer lack of information was frustrating him and, for once, he couldn't ask Ranpo to lend him a hand.
He paused for a moment. If Ranpo was even the slightest bit interested in his recent absences and illness, he would already be aware of his current predicament and the importance of keeping it a secret. Should Ranpo, therefore, wish to help him find Rand, he would have to do it in a way that only Dazai would pick up on. Dazai wracked his brains, thinking of anything Ranpo had said to him in the past couple of months that could be taken as a clue.
The newspaper.
But that was too early. Ranpo gave it to him before any of this had even started. Dazai was ready to dismiss it until another memory popped into his head. He pulled up the ADA's case history and one week after handing him the newspaper, Atsushi and Tanizaki were shown as actively investigating the incident. When he first spotted that during his first attempt to find Rand, he thought it amusing that Ranpo had followed through and made them attempt to solve it, but looking at it now, he was starting to see an ulterior motive to it.
Whether the death was ruled as a murder or a suicide was of no interest to the ADA. It was, after all, the Port Mafia's problem. Ranpo's initial gift of the newspaper most likely indicated that the death was indeed a murder, but the relevance stopped there. Kunikida had no interest in taking on a case that the Port Mafia could investigate, should they care enough about that particular member's death to bother, and the idea of wasting time and people caused Kunikida to shut down that suggestion from the very start.
Taking that into account, the realisation dawned on Dazai that, given the case was eventually taken on by the ADA, Ranpo must have gone to some effort to overrule Kunikida's initial decision. Dazai could only think of one reason, apart from personal amusement, that Ranpo would insist on having the ADA take on the case when it was clear by the reports that Atsushi and Tanizaki were unable to draw a different conclusion than the police. That reason was to give him a clue to Rand's identity.
Dazai searched the database for the suicide case again and used his affiliation with the ADA to request access to all the data the police had gathered. It was a few minutes after this request was sent that the car came to a halt. They had arrived at the test site.
Reluctantly, Dazai shut his laptop and put it back in his bag, exiting the car with the others.
"Alright, let's get to work! I'm sure we'd all rather not be out here any longer than we need to." Chuuya removed his hat and coat and left them in the car out of harm's way while the other members unloaded the specialised weapons and bullets from the boot of their car.
Haruki went to fetch her rifle from the boot as well and pushed a collapsable camping chair into Dazai's hands.
"You'll need this unless you're happy to stand or sit on the floor,"
Dazai scoffed at the sheer lack of dignity associated with such a chair, but wandered over to the other men and set it down nevertheless. He watched the others set up by the edge of the open space and Chuuya lay out the procedure and remind everyone to aim for his forearms, neck, or face.
"Right, I think we're ready to start. Haruki, start counting as soon as Corruption takes over. Dazai will be your backup counter in case you lose track." Chuuya walked to the middle of the space and removed his gloves, speaking his verse as everyone raised their weapons.
Haruki raised a hand to shield her face as a gust of wind suddenly burst outwards from the point where Chuuya was standing. Her eyes widened in uneasy awe as she watched the reddish-black tendrils snake across his skin and his posture slump to one reminiscent of a primal creature. The sudden heaviness in the air took her breath away as she found herself paralysed, unable to do anything in the face of such raw power.
"NOW!"
Dazai's voice cut through her fear and in one swift motion she aimed and fired, the pellet hitting its mark and nullifying his ability. Moments later, more shots could be heard as the others, also galvanised into action by Dazai's sharp command, fired off their shots too.
Chuuya came to his senses and straightened up, checking himself over to see where the pellets had hit as he walked back to the group.
"Good job, guys! Looks like some of you hit the mark first-time,"
"Only because I gave them a hand. Had I not been here, none of them would have fired at all," Dazai spoke up in quiet amusement.
"Hah? What do you mean?"
"Well-"
"I'm sorry sir!" Haruki interjected before Dazai could say any more. "I froze...Dazai had to intervene and give the order to fire." She lowered her head a little, ashamed that she'd failed after bragging in the car.
"Did your pellet hit the mark?"
"Huh? Oh- yes. It did,"
"Then that's all that matters. I told you Corruption wasn't something normal." He smiled and patted her on the shoulder reassuringly. "You've seen it once now. It won't be a surprise next time and you'll keep your head. Given you hit your target this time, I have no doubt you will next time too," and with that, he turned to face the others. "Which of you lot hit your mark as well?"
As Chuuya dealt with the others, Haruki thought back over what she'd just seen, still struggling to process the sheer volume of power she'd just experienced.
Dazai stood and strolled over, putting his hands in his pockets with a smile.
"First impressions?"
Haruki glanced up at Dazai, then returned her gaze to Chuuya.
"It's...an overwhelming amount of power...is that really his ability?"
Dazai chuckled, "It's the true form of his ability~ For The Tainted Sorrow is but a shadow of Corruption, hence why he can control it. When he activates Corruption, he relinquishes control of his body and consciousness, and allows his ability to take over. The power is too much for his body and, if left in that state for too long, he'll die."
"Die?"
"Mhm~ Quite a gruesome death, if I might add~ There's only so much stress a body can deal with before it gets broken beyond repair,"
"Is that so..." Haruki's gaze lingered on Chuuya for a moment as her mind imagined what such a scenario would look like.
"Did he not explain that to you?" Dazai's smile widened at her reaction. "Surely it must have been obvious. How else would gravity kill someone?"
Haruki sighed, "Well I'd never really thought about it, but it could have been anything, even something as basic as a heart attack if it's simply overexertion."
"Oi Dazai!" Chuuya made his way over to the two of them now that he'd finished with the other men. "Stop harassing my markswoman,"
"Come now, we were just chatting~"
"Dazai was just explaining Corruption in more detail to me,"
"Huh?" Chuuya turned to face her. "Ah well, as much as I hate to admit it, Dazai's the one who's seen it the most and can give you the best advice,"
"Aww, a pure compliment?~ That's rare~"
"Unlike you, I don't take pride in lying," Chuuya huffed. "Right, I want to do a couple more runs today to weed out those who can't reliably hit the mark, so get ready for another round."
"Yes, sir!"
Haruki reloaded her rifle and Dazai made his way back to his chair again.
The rest of the trials ran smoothly and before long they were on their way back to the mafia headquarters. Upon arrival, Dazai made his farewells and headed home, eager to continue his search for information and get a good night's rest to recover his strength.
---------------------
Bing
Dazai awoke the next morning, bleary-eyed and confused. His alarm didn't sound like that. Groaning, he turned onto his front to locate the source of the noise, his eyes falling onto his open laptop that was still logged in from the day before. A notification was floating in the bottom right corner of the screen, slowly coming into focus as he squinted and rubbed his eyes.
Your request for access to this information has been approved.
Dazai snatched the laptop and sat up, ready to filter through the information before spotting the time. He'd overslept and, if he spent any more time in bed, he would be late enough for there to be a very real chance of getting a physical beating from Kunikida.
Reluctantly shutting the laptop, he quickly got dressed and made his way to the office, arriving just in time to avoid Kunikida's rage. The day passed painfully slowly, as Dazai couldn't do any meaningful research while he was in the office, but eventually, the time came to head home and Dazai was out the door as quickly as he could without drawing suspicion to himself.
Seated at his table at home, he keyed in his access code for the files and started to skim through the information. The police report was vague, and clearly biased towards a suicide ruling, and the photographs of the scene did nothing except confirm that the man did indeed stab himself with a dagger. Frustrated by the lack of information, he eventually turned to the CCTV footage included in the file. It had been briefly mentioned in the report, but dismissed. The clear-cut nature of the case, along with the reluctance to get involved with mafia business, gave the police no reason to follow up on any potential leads found in the footage.
Resigning himself to the long night ahead, Dazai made himself a drink and played the footage, looking carefully for anything that seemed even slightly out of the ordinary. He captured an image of the footage every time a person was in the frame, compiling all the images in a separate document for comparative inspection.
Once he'd scanned all the footage, he then returned to the document and carried out his inspection, looking for anything that might set someone apart from the others. Frustratingly, there was no clear outlier. As a mafia-controlled area, it was not unusual to see small, suspicious groups walk dimly lit streets such as this one, yet it was just as common to see individuals walking the streets as well. To add to that, the entrance to the courtyard was not within the field of view of any local cameras, so there was no way to immediately dismiss anyone who hadn't entered the courtyard.
The pixilated images were starting to make his head hurt as he continued to search for a clue, determined not to give in before he'd found a lead. Each repetition of his comparisons focused on smaller and smaller details as he tried to at least narrow down the number of people he had to trace. Despite his best efforts, however, he eventually needed to give his eyes a break. Sighing heavily, he stood up and took his cup through to the kitchen, rubbing his eyes and electing to admire the view from his window for a few moments. Rand was good. This practically untraceable lead was the only mistake she'd made, and the only reason it was found at all was because of Ranpo.
After a couple of minutes, he stretched and walked back to his laptop, sighing at how much of a mess the document had become. Copies upon copies of the images, each cropped differently, were spread across multiple pages. Timings, notes, characteristics and many other scraps of information accompanied each photo, and Dazai immediately felt tired at the thought of having to get back into a rhythm after his break.
His chin propped on one hand, he clicked through the pages as his brain began to whir again. It was late into the night, and he was desperate to sleep, but he stubbornly refused to give up until he'd found something, no matter how small.
"Let's take it from the top." He spoke to himself aloud. "Using the assumption that this is a murder disguised as a suicide, what doesn't make sense? There were no witnesses...that's normal. No suicide note...hmm...the police didn't search the victim's home or belongings, so there's no way to tell if that's really the case. Even if not, it's a dead end. All it does is confirm my assumption that he was murdered. What else...? The victim's fingerprints were found on the hilt...and no other fingerprints were found at the scene...aha! If this isn't a suicide, then the killer must have held the weapon at some point. As there are no fingerprints, they must have been wearing gloves."
He scanned the images again, this time selecting all those that had gloves on, and moved them to yet another new page to compare. Luckily, it was a warm evening and so this particular criteria cut down the number of suspects significantly. This now made it feasible to return to the video footage and examine in greater detail each of the movements and behaviours of the shortlisted people. He sat there, watching the behaviours of each person until he came upon something out of place.
"This person only has one glove on..." He frowned and zoomed in on the footage, watching that person closely. "They don't look like they're putting gloves on or taking them off...nor can I see another glove in their hands."
He quickly confirmed that every other individual was wearing two gloves, then focused once again on the single-gloved figure. If he was to be honest, he couldn't have explained why only wearing a single glove stood out to him so much. For all he knew, it could have just been a fashion statement, but his intuition told him otherwise.
Rewinding the footage to the moment they stepped into the frame, he focused on this person and their two companions. They were walking away from the camera and, as such, their backs were to him. This made it difficult to gain any more information on the figure at the front until, just as they were about to exit the field of view, the figure turned to say something to one of their companions. Pausing the footage and zooming in, Dazai could just about make out their profile back-lit by a streetlight. It wasn't much, but a smile broke out on his face as he identified the figure was a woman.
"This must be Rand!"
Dazai, with the end in sight, summoned one last burst of energy and reviewed the footage once more, focusing carefully on anything he could use to identify her in person, such as height, physique, gait, and other characteristics. Once he was confident he had a decent idea of how she would look in person, he shut his laptop and stumbled to bed to get a few hours of sleep before work the next day.
-------------------------------
The days came and went as Dazai continued to recover and, before he knew it, it was Wednesday again. He accompanied Chuuya to the second trial and watched as everything went more smoothly than the previous week. Haruki did her job perfectly, and it was clear Chuuya was already eager to experiment further and use Corruption for longer. There was, however, only so much he could do in one session and before Dazai knew it, he was making his way home from the Port Mafia HQ once again.
His gaze alternated between his phone screen and the surrounding street, searching for anyone who fit the list of 'Rand's characteristics' he'd compiled or the two men who were with her that night. This was something he did daily, as he knew he couldn't afford to be anything less than vigilant if he was to find out who she really was.
Naturally, on a busy evening such as this, there was always a chance of bumping into someone when you weren't looking at where you were going.
"Oh- my apologies,"
The impact of a shoulder against his and the sound of a woman's voice snapped Dazai out of his focused trance. He half-turned to apologise to the lady and bow, eyes only lingering long enough to see that she'd accepted his apology, before turning to continue walking.
But he never took a step.
His eyes were wide as his brain made connections faster than he could think, and one word filled his mind.
Rand.
Less than three seconds had passed before he spun around, frantically searching for the lady that bumped into him, but she was already just one person in a crowd. That didn't stop Dazai from retracing the interaction and attempting to locate her until he was forced to accept the truth that she had already gone.
Dazai wasn't used to being toyed with. Usually, he was the one in Rand's position, subtly coaxing his enemies into paranoia so that they lost the rational thought that could have protected them.
He took a deep breath and forced himself to stay calm, knowing he could gain information from this situation. Scanning the street for cameras, he one perfectly positioned to record the encounter. He quickly made his way into the shop it belonged to and stepped up to the counter. It took a small lie and some persuasion but, in the end, the owner handed him the tape.
Making his way swiftly home to look over the footage, Dazai finally felt like he was making significant progress.
---------------
Rand wove her way through the crowd, an easy smile on her face as she headed towards her destination. Toying with Dazai was a near-impossible feat, but with his secret forcing him to conceal his actions from his coworkers and act alone, Rand was able to stand on a near-equal footing. Her plan was unfolding nicely, and it would soon be time to take action.
 ~The Previous Day~
"Mori."
"Rand, I assume?"
"How is your research coming along? I'd like to collect my payment soon."
"Ah yes, the research you enticed me with last time we spoke. Certainly very astute of you to know how one might like to develop such a resource. As of yesterday, the first sellable batch has been produced and samples are being distributed as we speak. Depending on how much you intend to take, you may be able to collect your share right away."
"Twenty pellets will suffice, though I also require an unprocessed half-pint of blood."
"The half-pint will take some time, but you can pick up the twenty pellets whenever you are ready."
"How much can you spare right now?"
"Why the request for unprocessed blood? Your request specified a small supply of what this information will allow me to create. That would be the pellets, not the unprocessed blood."
"Pellets are only useful if you have the gun to fire them with. Unprocessed blood allows a wider range of defence at close quarters. I simply wish to cover all my bases, that's all."
"Indeed..."
Mori was sceptical about Rand's reasoning, but he weighed the potential consequences and decided it wouldn't be wise to make an enemy out of Rand over something so trivial. The Port Mafia could easily handle any mishaps that arose from his decision.
"I can spare you a quarter of a pint at this time, but no more. Will that suffice?"
"How about a third? Given the quality of the information."
"Very well, twenty pellets and a third-pint of blood."
"My subordinate will pick it up tomorrow from an address he'll deliver to you later on today."
"Unable to pick it up yourself?"
"Will you be delivering it personally?"
Mori chuckled, "Unfortunately not. But I hope the goods are to your liking."
"The Port Mafia's standard is high. I'm sure they will be. Thank you for your help."
"And thank you for your information. Goodbye."
~The Present Day~
Leaving the busy streets behind, Rand entered a multistory car park and made her way up to the first floor. Standing in one corner, she had an angled view of where her subordinate would meet the Port Mafia representatives.
It wasn't long before both the Port Mafia representative and her subordinate came into view and, like ships passing in the bay, the entire exchange was over in under a minute. To the inattentive eye, it could be mistaken for a purely verbal exchange between strangers, the transferral of the package going completely unnoticed in the swift hands of professionals.
Rand was satisfied with her subordinate's performance and left her elevated position as soon as the mafia representative was out of sight, heading back down to take the package from him and continue to her next appointment.
"Thank you for handling that exchange for me, Fukuda. It's much appreciated," Rand's expression remained neutral as she took the package from her subordinate, tucked it under one arm, then took his hand, gently patting it in the way one does to show thanks. "You've more than earned your reward, so why not return and take that nice long nap, hm?"
Without waiting for a response, Rand turned and walked away.
-------------------------------
The next three weeks flew by in a blur for Dazai as his strength slowly returned to him.
With CCTV footage to analyse, he was more determined than ever to figure out Rand's plan and get one step ahead. Every waking moment outside of the office was spent gathering information and persuading shop owners to hand over footage he thought might contain clues. Much to Kunikida's surprise, this translated into more efficient working within working hours, too, as Dazai couldn't afford to have Kunikida keeping him behind to complete unfinished paperwork.
The trials continued with Chuuya, and every week he was using Corruption for longer periods of time under more realistic conditions. Haruki handled the increasing difficulty with remarkable ease, even asking Dazai tactical questions in between rounds and requesting advice on how to handle situations like the ones Double Black faced in the past. Dazai offered some insight, but was also quick to point out that if she couldn't find the solution herself, all these trials would be useless and Chuuya would die. That seemed to dishearten her, but her determination never wavered.
Chuuya's demeanour had also changed, he'd noticed. He had always been a dedicated worker, never resting when there was something to be done, but his tone of voice and choice of words seemed less composed than they used to. He seemed more unrestrained, as if he was closed-mindedly charging towards something he desired, rather than pursuing it through a rational course. Dazai didn't comment on this change, but he was aware of it slowly and quietly creeping into his decisions over the weeks, like a poison spreading through the body.
Rand did not make many appearances, and those she did make were flitting and inconvenient. She only seemed to appear when he was preoccupied with ADA business, leaving him unable to chase her as he would have liked to. She revealed little information, and he couldn't request data from the government or police databases without reason, so he was limited to what little he could collect himself.
His life felt like a ticking time bomb. Rand had told Mori about his blood, and so far the knowledge stopped there, but there was no telling when she might let someone else in on the secret. Someone who may not keep it to themselves.
-------------------------------------
The investigation into the man found in the Nakamura river just under three weeks ago has now come to a close. Fukuda Saburo was an outcast of the Fukuda family and spent much of his adult life caught up in organised crime. His autopsy determined the cause of death as drowning and a suicide note was found at his dwelling.
The radio continued to provide background noise as Haruki drove Chuuya and Dazai back to the Port Mafia headquarters after the fifth trial. Dazai felt mostly normal again, if fatigued at times, and things had been consistently chaotic for a while now. What may have seemed odd to the ADA previously was now accepted as the norm as he got used to living his double life. He was concerned, however, at the increasing frequency of the words 'nullification' and 'pellets' catching his ear as he strayed back to the edge of Yokohama's underworld in search of information on Rand. He knew he was running out of time before people started asking questions.
"Oi. Dazai. We're back."
Dazai turned his gaze back to the interior of the car to find Chuuya's disapproving glare focused on him. "What's the rush, Chuuya?~ Got somewhere more important to be?"
"I may have if Akutagawa calls me, so get out and piss off."
Dazai got out of the car and put his hands in his pockets as it drove back to the garage. "In trouble again, is he?"
"Just taking care of a gang that's been challenging him, nothing big, but there'll be some cleanup, so I'm waiting for the call."
"Challenging him?"
"Yeah. They've been making a racket for the past week, so we're going to show them what happens when you challenge the Port Mafia." Chuuya scoffed, "Idiots. Anyway, enjoy your last week of rest, Dazai."
"Three weeks, Chuuya, can you not count?"
"If next week's trial proves successful, I'm bringing it forward. Be ready."
"That's not what was agreed."
"Well, it's what going to happen."
Without waiting for a reply, Chuuya walked off, leaving Dazai with an eyebrow raised at another display of uncharacteristic behaviour. Shrugging it off after a moment, he made his way home, his mind once again turning to the issue of Rand. Despite finding fragments of leads, he still didn't have enough information to make any moves.
And then he heard a yell.
Running towards the source of the sound and the ensuing commotion, he left the main street and turned into a back alley, coming to a halt when he saw the scene in front of him.
Blood painted the walls towards the far end of the alley as Akutagawa commanded Rashoumon, taking out the gang members with ease. For such a bold challenge, they were poorly skilled, and the fight was over in under a minute. Akutagawa turned to leave, hand reaching into his pocket to call the cleanup team when he spotted Dazai still standing at the end of the alley.
He froze, eyes widening.
Then Dazai's eyes widened.
Senses dulled by the shock of seeing his former mentor, Akutagawa barely registered the presence behind him until a hand closed around his neck. His ability exploded outwards, strips piercing the walls of the alley as it thrashed out of control.
Dazai watched as Rand, having appeared out of nowhere, activated Akutagawa's ability with a single touch. He went to step forward and intervene, then paused.
Ability activation and ability nullification. If they were to mix, it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility for a singularity to form. Would there be an explosion? If he touched Akutagawa instead of Rand directly, would the singularity still occur? If not, which ability would take priority?
After a moment of thought, Dazai leapt forwards.
Rashoumon continued to thrash in the small space, Akutagawa powerless at its centre. An unfortunate blow sent debris tumbling across Dazai’s path, forcing him to halt. Through the resulting dust, he could see Rand turn and run and he gritted his teeth, breaking into a run again as soon as the debris had stopped falling. Barely sparing Akutagawa a glance as he ran past, hand outstretched to nullify his ability, he chased Rand to the end of the alley, but, upon looking down the adjoining alleys, she was nowhere to be seen.
Sinking to his knees once his ability was nullified, Akutagawa’s gaze fell to the floor. Dazai had watched him fight the gang with brutal efficiency, only to lose control of his ability at the hands of a single person. On top of that, he’d almost killed Dazai with the debris, all because he wasn’t strong enough to stay in control. He’d never felt more ashamed.
Dazai knew that those precious few seconds had cost him his chance of catching Rand. Taking one last look down the adjoining alleys, he turned and headed back the way he came, walking straight past Akutagawa, still on the floor, without so much as a glance.
He was frustrated that he’d let such a rare opportunity slip away from him, but at the very least, he now knew what her ability was. If there was a way he could gain access to overseas records, he may be able to track down other places she’d been based on reports of ability activation. Overseas records were hard to get a hold of, but he could try.
------------------------------------
The week passed with little luck, and before Dazai knew it, the trial was finished. Chuuya deemed it final, and he was escorted to the infirmary.
“I heard about last week,” Chuuya said as Dazai sat on the examination table. “Never thought there’d be an ability opposite to yours,”
"Given the fact mine exists, it seems reasonable to assume the opposite would, too. That being said, there's no documentation of an ability-activation ability as far as we know,"
“I suppose it must be as rare as yours then…” Chuuya mused, “And this ‘Rand’ seems to be incredibly elusive.”
“You’re well-informed.”
“The boss has kept me in the loop,”
“How much does he know about Rand?”
“All I know is what he tells me, nothing more,”
They lapse into silence for a few minutes as Dazai’s blood is drawn.
"The success of the Double Black missions relied solely on the fact your partner was me. My intellect and ability were the only reason you came out alive."
“So?”
“No matter how many trials you do. No matter how good of a markswoman Haruki is. She’ll never replace me.”
Dazai’s gaze was unwavering. There was no malice, no mockery, no humour in those eyes. All they said was this is the truth.
Chuuya held that gaze, silent for a moment as he gave his answer some thought.
“She doesn't have to.”
And with that, he stood, readjusting his hat. “My men will see you out.”
Dazai watched as he left the room, disappointed that he hadn’t gotten more of a reaction from that taunt. Haruki was a very capable individual, and she'd demonstrated that throughout the trials. Dazai had no doubts she'd serve the Port Mafia well, but Corruption was simply too unpredictable. She may very well be able to successfully nullify it in some instances, but there was no guarantee, and there lay the truth in Dazai's statement. Dazai could make steadfast guarantees that no ordinary person would dare even think of and pull success out of the bleakest of situations. Chuuya would never be able to throw his life away as carelessly as he could with Dazai, and they both knew that.
---------------------------------------
Over the past three and a half months, Rand had quietly and carefully cultivated her plan. Planting her seeds, patiently nurturing and guiding them as they grew until they were ready. Then, she skilfully manipulated them so that they could be woven together with the same precision and care one would use when combining chemicals to make a bomb.
That bomb was now complete.
And she was ready to set it off.
---------------------------------------
Dazai yawned as he stood in the lift as it rose to the fourth floor, the ache in his arm from the blood extraction two days prior still bothering him. At present, it seemed like his secret was safe with the Port Mafia. Other than word of the pellets spreading through the underworld, there was no mention of his blood being the source.
When the doors opened, he stepped out and made his way to the office, preparing himself for a stern word from Kunikida about being late, but, upon opening the door, he was greeted by an empty office.
"Ah, there you are, Dazai." Kunikida's head appeared from around the door to the meeting room. "We've been waiting for you,"
Dazai's expression immediately changed to one of disgust. "You neglected to tell me so you could con me into participating....how cruel, Kunikida~"
"Just get in here so we can start," Kunikida disappeared back inside the room and Dazai reluctantly followed.
Once Dazai was sat down at the far end of the table, Kunikida cleared his throat and began to talk.
"Dazai, we're worried about you."
This was not the direction Dazai was expecting this meeting to go in.
"Over the past few months, we've all noticed the change in your behaviour. From avoiding Saturday shifts to falling ill, it's clear something is going on and we want to help."
There was a wave of nods from all those present in the room.
"Ahhh Kunikida~ It's so nice to hear that you care about me, but I'm perfectly fine~"
"Are you?" Yosano interjected. "Your health worsened over several weeks to the point where we had to force you to take some time off, and then it took you another few weeks to recover. In fact, you're looking a little pale again today - almost as if you're anaemic - and if it were up to me, I'd run a series of tests on you right now."
"Is that not what you'd expect from a suicide enthusiast? My goal isn't to live a long life, you know~"
"Perhaps, but we believe there's a different reason," Kunikida took over again, standing up and walking over to his laptop. With a few key taps, he'd switched his display to the projector in the room and a video appeared. "This is footage Katai found while doing some investigative work for me."
Dazai had already begun to suspect the reason this meeting was called, but the footage confirmed it. It showed a skirmish between two gangs, one of which contained two gifted members. The fight was leaning in the favour of the gifted gang until their abilities suddenly ceased to function. That gang was quickly overpowered and killed.
"This isn't the only evidence Katai found regarding these strange ability malfunctions and, after a bit of digging in the underground communications channels, he found out what was causing them." Kunikida looked Dazai straight in the eyes. "Ability-nullification pellets, or so they're called."
"Interesting..." Dazai leant forwards and stroked his chin, seemingly unfazed, by Kunikida's challenging gaze. "Ability nullification...they've done a good job of it, I'll say that." After a moment's pause, he crossed his hands behind his head and leant back in his chair. "Ahhh~ Looks like I'm out of a job~"
"Do you have any connection to the existence of these items?" Kunikida pressed on, ignoring Dazai's behaviour.
"Of course not. I have no affiliation with any underground societies."
"Then explain how the liquid inside these pellets is red."
"How can I explain something I had no knowledge of before today?"
Dazai continued to bluff but, underneath his calm exterior, his mind was racing. This was bad. If the ADA found out about this, then it'd only be a matter of time before the Special Division for Supernatural Powers was read into it and, once that happened, he'd most likely be asked to cooperate with them. Agreeing would go against the Port Mafia and make this information public to the entire Yokohama underworld, refusing would make him, once again, a criminal. He was caught between a rock and a hard place, with everything riding on his ability to persuade the ADA that those pellets were not made from his blood.
Then all choice was ripped away from him.
What just a moment ago displayed the CCTV footage now displayed an entirely different video. One of a masked figure, robed in black, on a white background.
I believe in freedom. Freedom to act in your own best interest. Freedom to choose your own path in life, not be bound by another.
All eyes were on the screen. Not a word was spoken.
But there is a man who is bound. Bound to secrecy. Bound to obey those he so despises with no way to escape. I shall free that man today. I shall allow him to choose his own path, and in doing so, allow many others to do the same.
Dazai's eyes widened.
Today, I give all those in Yokohama's underworld a choice. A new path to freedom. A way to live a life they may desire. Today, I shall break the chains that bind you and return to you your voice.
Today, I give the gifted the means by which to take back control of their lives and themselves. To the gifted of Yokohama's underworld, I leave you this:
Dazai Osamu, the former Demon Prodigy, gifted user of No Longer Human.   His blood is the key ingredient of the Ability-Nullification pellets the Port Mafia has been distributing.   His blood, not just his touch, can nullify abilities.
The video ended. The screen returned to normal.
There was a moment of silence before every head turned to look at Dazai.
Dazai had fled.
(We got us some long notes again)
I'll briefly detail why this chapter was so difficult to write in case any of you are interested:
Essentially, I was writing (mostly) on-the-fly at the start of this fic, but at one point I realised what little plan I had put my prologue to waste. I won't lie and say I'm not proud of my prologue, and I just felt like the very 'Dazai-and-Chuuya-centric' plotline I had really didn't fit with the very start of this story. So I stopped writing and did a MASSIVE overhaul of the plot. For the sake of you readers, I don't want to go back and re-write previous chapters, so I've been trying to work with what's already established.
Once that was sorted, I then had to deal with the absolute mess of a timeline. Chapters 1, 2, and 3, all happen in the space of 3 days…this chapter happens over 105 days. It was a nightmare to keep track of let me tell you. Those on Tumblr may have seen my post about realising I’d got the timescale wayyyy off and having to make some lazy alterations last-second XD I hope I did a good job of keeping it interesting despite all the time skips though.
Also Storm Bringer came out. So I kinda halted my writing while that was being translated (by an absolute saint of a human) just in case anything there significantly changed the canon information I was using. (side note: Asagiri as a fellow writer I applaud your brutality but my GOD poor Chuuya you really made him go through all that...)
I do wish I could have cut this chapter in half and posted it in two parts so you guys didn't have to wait quite this long for an update...but it just wouldn’t have made sense.
Anyways hope ya enjoyed this chapter and thank you all so much for your patience!!

Please make a oneshot of dazai meeting ko's father aka his boss that would be so funny
I have kind of done it before but ngl I wanna rewrite it so thank-you for the request bub! Also this has been sitting in my drafts for so fucking long I am so sorry.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meeting your significant others father is meant to be a big deal. That’s what Osamu Dazai has been told at least by Oda and Ango and Kunikida and Chuuya and really the list goes on. He supposed Mr Fukuzawa would be nice that was what he heard from Kosuke.
No not once did he connect his girlfriends last name to anyone he knew...
“Kosuke..” the brunette pouted, his nose nuzzling into his girlfriends neck. The blankets had been tucked to her neck but his lips managed to flutter down her nape.
“Yes love?” She yawned.
“.. I want to meet your dad.” She tensed for a moment before giggling.
“You want to meet my dad?” She questions turning into her boyfriends bare chest. He nods affirmatively.
“I think I should… I mean we’ve been together for a long time and the only reason we haven’t met is because of work.”
Kosuke raised a brow.
“And maybe because if I ever propose to you I would like to be on good terms with him.”
“You… proposing?”
“It’s not that novel of an idea.”
“Yes it is.”
“Hey!” He gasped pushing himself away from his giggling girlfriend. “Why wouldn’t I propose to you? I love you and cannot see myself with anyone else.”
“I don’t doubt your love for me- I love you too you maniac… but let’s be honest I’m gonna end up proposing to you.”
Osamu huffed before pulling Kosuke in for a kiss.
“Yeah yeah.” He said smiling into the kiss.
Tumblr media
“How do I look? I have my best coat on.” Dazai asked as he stepped into the Dazai-Fukuzawa dining room. Kosuke snorted and waved him closer.
“Ah yes your best singular tan trench coat that you wear everywhere Constantine.”
“You look lovely Koko.” He smiled, eyes raking down his partners body giddily. Her navy blue dress sitting prettily on her figure.
“Thank you handsome man… now shall we go meet my father? He messaged and said he’s already at the table.”
“He’s early?”
“We live a ten minutes walk away unlike him so let’s go.”
The couple stepped into the restaurant, being greeted happily by the staff as they were guided towards their table.
Dazai froze as they reached the table and leant down.
“You didn’t tell me your father was my boss.”
Kosuke looked at her father and then to her boyfriend and let out an undignified snort signifying their arrival to her father.
“Sunflower- Dazai?”
“President.”
The air was stiff, awkward and very un-Dazai-like. Yukichi Fukuzawa however found it a little funny. Seeing Dazai feel something other than confident.
“How did you two meet?” The President asked.
“The cliche I spilt coffee on him.” Kosuke admitted with a chuckle.
“My poor white shirt still resents you.” He snickered. Fukuzawa smiled at the interaction. “It’s alright you paid for the cleaning and then I bought your next coffee.”
“Was that your first date?” The President laughed.
“No. Our first date wasn’t for a little while after, I took her to the Hakkejima Sea Paradise for our first offical date.” Dazai said. Fukuzawa nodded.
“Ah yes a good choice. Plenty of things to do and not get bored.”
“It was so good dad and he was so cute the entire day.” Kosuke exclaimed, her hand gripped in Osamu’s tightly as she gave him an evil look.
“Please don’t embarrass me in front of my boss- let alone your father.” He pouted.
“Oh honey I have to.” She snickered.
“I need to hear this. Maybe it’ll make you do your paperwork that you give to Atsushi.” The President said with a raised brow. Dazai’s mouth opened and shut like a fish as he fought for the right thing to say.
“Samu learnt lots of cute facts about sea animals for me, then took me to the arcade- he’s very good at arcade games and then proceeded to spill nearly every drink and food he bought on himself.”
Both Fukuzawa’s began laughing quietly as Dazai stared at his partner in fake disdain.
“I love that mind of yours but you wound me. Our conversation two days ago is now null void.”
Kosuke pouted. “What that I’ll be the one to propose instead on you?”
Dazai started laughing again. “No me.”
“Me.” She said before pressing a kiss to his left hand.
“Already talking about marriage?”
“It’s been two years dad.” The twenty two year old said. “Holy shit we’ve been dating two years and you never officially met as my dad and boyfriend.”
The trio scoffed at themselves.
“Work really fucked up our ability to meet.” Dazai joked.
“Well. I assume you’ve been good to her since she hasn’t killed you.” Fukuzawa said. “Stay being good to her but give me a while before I can offer blessings of marriage since she’s still my baby.”
“Dad.” Kosuke pouted. “I love you both. Thank you for not being awkward.”
“I love you too.” Dazai said pressing a kiss to her cheek.
“I love you as well sunflower. Now I’m ready for dessert and would very much like to try their Purin apparently it’s quite tasty.” Fukuzawa said happily.
“I’m going to have the Dorayaki.” Dazai said.
“You chose this restaurant purely because they have Dorayaki didn’t you love?”
“Maybe.” He grinned cheekily. “I doubt it’ll be better than yours.”
“That’s because it’s the only sweet thing I can make well.” She rolled her eyes making her father laugh. “I think I will have the Coffee Jelly.”
“That sounds delicious.” Dazai said. “I’m still having the Dorayaki though.”
“It’s more a snack than dessert but I approve of the food choice.” Fukuzawa nodded before signalling a waitress. “May we have many meetings like this in the future. I quite like this casual and comfortable Osamu Dazai compared to the cocky version in the office. As much as I admire your confidence seeing you happy with my daughter is a good change.”
Dazai stared wide eyed at his boss- he never was good with being complimented.
“Kosuke makes all the dark things go away. My past, my less than ideal thoughts and actions. I promise all my stupid requests and things I say to the waitress downstairs is in jest between us- she’s Kosuke’s friend so it’s an inside joke…. But in all seriousness Kosuke makes me feel better.” The former mafia member said seriously. “I love her.”
“I’m glad. I’m happy for you too.” Fukuzawa said with a fatherly smile. He reached across the table and clasped their held hands. “Stay happy if not for me, or yourself. Be happy for each other.”
“I love you both so much.” Kosuke said with tears welling in her eyes.
“I love you too Kosuke.” Fukuzawa said.
“I love you so much Koko.” Osamu said pressing a firm kiss to her temple. “So so much.”

Hello there, can you do headcanons on how Atsushi, Dazai, Kunikida and Chuuya would react if they found out their fem s/o could sing opera? Like she’s not a professional, but she is self taught and has a powerful soprano voice and she sings Carmen’s Habanera like an angel basically? And they find out through her singing in the shower, through karaoke, etc. If you want to do this imagine thank you! 🙏💕🌹🍷✨

—> Description | Atsushi, Dazai, Kunikida and Chūya react to a s/o who’s a talented, self taught opera singer.
+ I’m not sure how this turned out, sorry for taking so long <3 This is my first time writing for Atsushi, Kunikida and Chuya so i was super worried. TwT

Nakajima Atsushi
Tumblr media
✿ Atsushi along with his s/o lived together, similar to Kyōka - Dazai suddenly roomed these two together with some kind of scheme. Using a cover up of keeping her safe, even though the s/o was plenty able to protect herself.
✿ The least Dazai expected was for these two not to start dating. It had been a couple months time before they even developed some feelings, but the love was intoxicating the air.
✿ Eventually becoming more affectionate publicly, small kisses on the cheek, hand holding- it was all some cute puppy love. Forming into something more genuine.
✿ While his s/o were roomed together with him, it wasn't uncommon for Atsushi to be out of the house at work. Or the other way around while his s/o still searched for a job.
✿  Thankfully Atsushi recommended to be an assistant at the ADA, if his s/o had no interest in all the violence and fighting as a proper member.
✿ The day Atsushi was first introduced to his s/o’s powerful voice for singing was while she was in the shower.
✿ He had towels for s/o and a spare change of fresh new clothes, but the poor boy didn’t want to interrupt their singing. opening the door ever so slightly, he put the clothes inside then shut the door again. No intension on invading his s/o’s privacy.
✿ Atsushi would mostly likely sit outside the door to listen to his s/o’s singing. It captured his heart honestly, poor boy was speechless.
✿ Never had he heard such a strong voice, he saw you as such a beautiful singer, let alone someone who slept right next to him ?! he couldn’t believe his ears.
✿ Poor boy ends up being hit by the door when his s/o came out of the bathroom, now changed in light clothes and a towel over their shoulders that had been partially dampened..
✿ Atsushi stared at his s/o in awe. Unable to say a word he just stares at s/o for an uncomfortable amount of time.
✿ Once Atsushi snaps out of it, he’s complimenting his s/o all day.
✿ When I say all day, I mean all day.
✿ Atsushi had no idea you were capable of something so, amazing. He knew you were talented, but never grasped the fact you could control your voice for opera?!
✿ He wont force you to sing for him or anything, but every once in a while he may ask.
✿ Overall, Atsushi was in love with the singing. He wouldn't question much, he’d be too busy complimenting it all.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dazai Osamu
Tumblr media
✿ These two first met at the cafe beneath the ADA’s head office.
✿ While the others were screaming at each other over work, Dazai left for some peace and quiet. The least he was expecting was a new waitress coming to his table with the cutest little smile.
✿ Dazai would do his typical flirts, asking to commit a lovers suicide.
✿ Each time he was declined, for obvious reasons haha.
✿ Visit upon visit, Dazai would show up much more frequently then the rest of his friends in the ada.
✿ They started to be on a first name basis which was a surprise, because even the ADA members call him by his surname.
✿ The day Dazai visited and found the cafe trashed up because of a group of thugs? he was beyond upset. s/o was knocked out cold on the ground, while the head of the cafe was clenching onto his hand that bled.
✿ After the ada caught the ones behind the attack and taught them a lesson, Dazai offered to take care of s/o at his place. She meekly accepted his offer.
✿ Being around someone more casual was refreshing and new, the rest of the people he knew were always work busy and overall just rude to him. Stick in the muds as he’d put it.
✿ S/o was gentle with him, always worried if he got injured- it was odd.
✿ At first he began rejecting her, but she’d still come to his place with groceries and cook for him.
✿ Falling her her more and more, Dazai joked less about his suicidal tendencies. Becoming more serious with his issues, he’d vent to s/o for relief. Even when she didn’t say anything in return, it was still comforting.
✿ Eventually these two started dating, Dazais flirtatious habits died off and he was always focused on his s/o. Some may say he was a bit obsessive, but Dazai was just afraid he’d lose what made him want to live.
✿ Their first date was simple, going out to town and just walking together hand in hand. They ate together, shopped a little- that was until he felt his s/o insist on pulling his arm, pointing at a building across the street.
✿ Dazai thought his s/o was pointing in the direction of a pathway leading to a river.
✿ “ You want to commit a lovers suicide in the river? “ I never said he completely got rid of the jokes- even if they hold a little truth.
✿ “ No moron! Karaoke is tonight !! “
✿  “ oh. “
✿    Pouting, his s/o dragged him to the building. Not minding that they were alone, she just wanted an excuse to sing for her lover.
✿ Thats the night she first sung for Dazai- he wasn’t aware of her talent in singing before-hand so this man was in pure awe.
✿ Dazai leaned back in his chair, eyes never once leaving his s/o’s form when she sung to him. A smile formed on his features uncontrollably, the singing wasn’t any singing of a casual for fun. It was Opera-
✿ He constantly wanted to speak up and say how amazing his s/o was, but stayed respectful. keeping his mouth quiet.
✿  Afterwards, Dazai showers his s/o in love. Kisses, words- you name it.
✿ “ Your voice was so powerful, ah~ I could die! “
✿ Dazai claims that if it were to continue he may faint from the beauty, saying his s/o was an angel sent from above to take care of him.
✿ His s/o better be prepared- because the next day she goes to work. all the ada detectives were sitting down like usual, but that's when Dazai takes it upon himself to drag s/o onto his lap and start bragging about her.
✿ Dazai tries to make her sing again, but the poor girl is embarrassed looking down at her lap.
✿ Overall this boy is all over his s/o, bragging to the world that she is talented as hell. Will often tease her for blushing when he asks her to sing for him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kunikida Doppo
Tumblr media
✿ This man didn’t plan on meeting the woman of his dreams for another 3-5 years as he stated many times, which would then lead to marriage.
✿ But when you became an assistant at the ADA he couldn't keep his eyes off you, always coming with excuses as to why he’d stare.
✿ Dazai constantly teased him over this-
✿ “ Is it true? Kunikida has the hots for our new assistant?~ “ Dazai teases, only to be tossed away.
✿ “ I am only keeping an eye for her for the safety of our office, plus she may need guidance around the office. “
✿ “ Sureee.. “
✿ He never planned on becoming super close to the new assistant, but the way she smiled at him always kept his heart fluttering. The determination held in her eyes whenever he gave advise, it was something he appreciated.
✿ Unlike Dazai, she wasn't always on her ass. The potential love of his life was always on her feet, keeping her work a priority.
✿ It got to the point, she was kunikidas go-to person for assistance. Need coffee? she’d get it for him, need to shut up Dazai? he is already out the window. She’d never failed to meet his expectations, a true blessing. Even helping his with paperwork became a regular whenever he was fatigued.
✿ He never involved himself with romance, especially around work. But he couldn’t help but fall for you as time went by, dazai pointing it out made it more obvious to himself. he was changing because of his s/o.
✿ It takes a couple years to actually get together, this man is always busy with his work and ideals. So even though it takes so long, id say its worth it. He deeply cares for his s/o even if he isnt always fun and romantic-
✿ The first time he hears his s/o sing was when they were off work for once, just resting at home on the couch. However, kunikida still insisted on working from home.
✿ His s/o had to convince him to leave.
✿ “ Can you at least listen to me sing? I’ve been practicing... i thought you’d want to listen. “
✿ Sing? this was the first time he heard of his s/o singing. He never wrote that down, time to add it to the list of talents he figures out his s/o has.
✿ He was convinced to listen to one song, thankfully. So his s/o dragged him to the living room, siting him down as she sat in front of him.
✿ At the start, he never once put his notebook down. Writing random jots in there about she could only assume- it was about her.
✿ So while singing, she carefully takes the book from his hand, catching Kunikidas attention.
✿ After the singing, Kunikida was almost in tears- nowhere in his notebook did it say his girlfriend would be this talented.
✿ He’d grab her shoulders, staring eye to eye with her. It was an intense stare only to be glossy, tearing up. Explaining how that was so beautiful.
✿ Overall, Kunikida is gushing over the beauty. There will be a lot of explaining as to how his s/o is perfect in his eyes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chūya Nakahara
Tumblr media
✿ Chuya first met his s/o through the Mafia, s/o weren’t all that special. Just another person beneath him in terms of rank, he didn’t know much about them honestly.
✿ It wasn’t til he ran into his future s/o during a meeting with fellow executives and their leader, Mori.
✿ S/O was playing with Elise on the opposite side of the room, Chuya was much more focused on Mori for obvious reasons at first. But then his ears pick up on s/o braiding Elise hair and humming for her.
✿ Honestly it was pretty sweet, s/o was a beauty he’d admit.
✿ Suddenly, Mori called s/o over. Advising her to follow Chuya on a mission to retrieve information from a colleague in question.
✿ At first Chuya would question why she of all people would be sent with him, but that look in her eyes gave it away. S/O wasn’t any normal mafia member, her dull eyes still held a sparkle. Serious about their mission.
✿ Something about it was intimidating?
✿ Its never right to judge a book by its cover, Chuya knew that. But he still couldnt grasp that someone as motherly as the s/o was capable of hurting even a fly.
✿ S/o was there to keep him under control, Mori was all too aware of Chuyas hot-headed approach to issues. But Chuya still was trustworthy enough.
✿ It became a regular for s/o to join Chuya on jobs.
✿ Turns out she was born without any kind of agility. She was the most human you could get, but that didn’t stop him from admiring her. She seemed like a mystery at first.
✿ S/O was capable of high levels of martial arts, even rivalling him. Though Chuya still would have the upper hand, just from having a little more experience in the mafia.
✿ s/o would lure people in with her singing, then he’d deal with them.
✿ S/O gained the nickname ‘ Siren ‘ for her beautiful vocals, while deadly even without Chuya at her side.
✿ After almost a year working together, Chuya gained feelings for the women at his side. the feelings were mutual, s/o and Chuya were just too caught up in work to confess.
✿ He would compliment s/o for a job well done, her singing was truthfully very alluring.
✿ It was only recently where he found her on an empty bridge in Yokohama.
✿ She seemed to be preparing to sing on her own, maybe practicing for future missions. If she sung on the streets she’d probably make more money then the mafia gave her.
✿ Chuya kept himself hidden away in the shadows of night, watching his s/o who was doing small exercises for her vocals.
✿ S/O began to sing opera, which was new to him. Shutting his eyes, Chuya couldnt help but smile. He never saw himself dating such a talented young women. Someone to call his own.
✿ Even when he’d murder someone before her eyes, she never once seemed disgusted. Never found herself question his motives, not even tease him for his outbursts.
✿ He adored his s/o through in through.
✿ When his s/o finishes singing, he’d finally reveal himself. out of the blue, his s/o would be pulled into a hug.
✿ “ That was beautiful, who knew i’d date someone so damn talented. Holy shit. “
✿ Chuya wouldn't bombard his s/o in compliments like others, it would be more shown through actions. A kiss on the head with his arms wrapped around her waist.
✿ Chuya would be happy, alone on the bridge with s/o.
✿ Overall this man would get a little distracted on missions because of that beautiful voice, may have to snap him out of it during serious times. Be prepared for hugs, and many pecks on the lips.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bonus !! Port Mafia Dazai
Tumblr media
✿ Dazai first met his S/O in Lupins bar, one night where he went to meet with  Odasaku for a couple drinks. He heard a women in the opposite corner of the bar humming to herself.
✿ Having nothing to do with her, the smaller hums were relaxing to just think during before he made his leave.
✿ Frequent visits later- Dazai found himself showing up for her, more then the drinks. Often alone, he’d just come to listen to the women hum, or even sing sometimes.
✿ She rarely properly sung in order to leave the peace at the bar serene. Having no interest in making someone uncomfortable.
✿ One day he visited and finally spoke to her, even praising her just for a mere tune that created a beautiful atmosphere in a normally gloom bar.
✿ Days on end, Dazai would insist on her singing for him. Free time? he’d be spending that time at the bar. He was often curious as to why the talented women was stuck at a cheap bar like Lupins. Yet, she never seemed to answer his question. So he left it be.
✿ That’s how they end up getting closer and started dating. Visiting almost everyday to see one another- The women never questioned his often dull expression as days pass by.
✿ Who knew she had been the single thing keeping him to hold some faith in humanity, or even himself.
✿ As the visits became daily and they started dating, she often would leave the bar and sing for Dazai outdoors. It allowed her to use all her vocals, no matter how loud she may be.
✿ Hums, small tunes, singing then- Opera. Something she always found interest in. Feeling confident to sing for Dazai after really knowing each other.
✿ The first time his S/O grabs his hand before he even sat himself down, he knew something was up. Rather it was good or bad had been the real question.
✿ “ I wanted to try something new for you “
✿ Dazai had no idea what he was instore for, but accepted it anyways. Sitting himself on the ground crisscross.
✿ That was the first time she had sung an Opera for him. It was purely her voice, no instruments in the background or some music video online. It was live, right in front of his eyes.
✿ Boy was this mafia executive in Awe. His S/O was beautiful, and not just that. She was talented !!
✿ Dazai being in the mafia hasn’t any experience in the world of singing, yes he often would hum random tunes through boredom. But her voice was so strong, and held control throughout the whole performance.
✿ Once his S/O finished singing, Dazai was speechless. Eyes sparkling like a child as he stands up and grasps her hands. There was hardly space in between them, but he pays no attention towards that.
✿ “ That was outstanding !! How’d you do that ?? “
✿ Honestly he didn’t give her time to answer his question, before asking a million more. Dazai was just in love with her voice, even more than before. It was stronger then any person he’s fought against. How could someone be so talented and it not be an ability or something?
✿  Overall this boy is in shock, he’s absolutely in love with the singing and insists on his s/o doing it more for him on the days off work.

uhhh i will probably edit and add to this but hey wanna see what i wrote today its kinda fun. answers the question: what might happen if the ADA were out for drinks and then some port mafia folks also show up after a bad day and dazai knows exactly what it feels like when chuuya is mad enough to cause tiny localized earthquakes when he walks.
Dazai freezes as a sudden chill goes up his spine. For a second, he’s quiet, listening intently to the surrounding threads of conversation, hopping from table to table as he confirms each topic is as inane as he’d expect this late on a Friday. A cursory scan of the guests confirms he and his ADA colleagues are the most dangerous group of office workers seeking to drink the stress of the day away in their general vicinity.
Still, something felt unmistakably wrong. He stares blankly at his half finished drink, ice mostly melted into the liquor by now. The last lingering clump of ice ripples gently in the glass and for a moment it almost feels like the earth itself is shivering to an unsteady beat, rhythm barely held in time but still achingly familiar. As seconds pass, it seems to grow stronger and stronger, until the sensation is far too tangible to be drunk imagination.
With that observation, Dazai’s subconscious sense for danger links with conscious thought and he knows exactly why the rhythm is familiar. Before he can act on that knowledge, his phone is buzzing in his pocket. Across the table, Kunikida is watching him with a bit too serious of an expression for Dazai’s taste. He waves cheerily and reaches for his phone.
The new message is from Kunikida, who lately had been developing a frustrating knack for recognizing Dazai’s thoughts. As roundabout a means of communication as it was, Dazai still feels a little touched that he’s trying so hard not to announce to the rest of the table that Dazai is on high alert.
DO NOT ANSWER: what happened
You: i was just watching the last bit of ice melt in my drink! It was really poetic actually i think i had a little epiphany about what it means to have a mortal existence
Kunikida scans the text and frowns, then does the same sweep Dazai had just done. His frown deepens as he comes to the same conclusion Dazai had - no one in this bar seemed like trouble. What Kunikida lacks is a careful attunement to the way the earth shakes minutely in response to the more intense emotions of the Port Mafia’s rising star executive, Nakahara Chuuya. Kunikida can’t know that, judging from the current rumble, said executive was going to walk through the door any second now.
Like clockwork, the door swings wide and several high ranking mafia members stride in just behind the worst possible person to have to share a bar with. Kunikida notices the newcomers a beat later, with an eyebrow raised as he noted Dazai’s near psychic detection of a potential threat.
Again, Kunikida is missing a critical piece of information, though he could hardly be blamed for it. Port Mafia executives’ identities were a closely guarded mafia secret that many people would kill to get their hands on, so it would’ve been a shock to everyone if he had been able to immediately identify the shortest member of the group as the most urgent threat in the room.
The identities of the two others alongside Chuuya were far less restricted information, Tachihara and Hirotsu. Kunikida must have seen them in person a few times by now, so he should know what organization they represent. The only question now is how he’ll respond.
Without looking away from the door for a moment, Kunikida pushed away from the table and crossed the open floor space unnervingly fast. Dazai was too far away to hear what Kunikida was saying to the group now, but judging from his stance it was something confrontational. Dazai sighs and finishes the last watered down sip of whiskey.
“Dazai, what’s wrong?” Atsushi’s voice breaks through the jumbled crosstalk of the rest of their group. Without a word, he pointed gloomily in the direction of Kunikida, who now seemed on the verge of losing his composure entirely. Atsushi’s eyes widen in surprise, without a hint of fear either, Dazai notes. “Those are really important mafia members, aren’t they?” He nods once, almost imperceptibly to keep from drawing even more of his coworkers into the impending chaos. He’d had a hunch that the admirable mafia team that Atsushi had once glimpsed while falling through the sky might have been Chuuya’s, but his reaction now cemented it as the truth.
“- like you have no business in this law abiding establishment.” Kunikida’s raised voice finally reaches across the room.
“The mafia owns this bar, dumbass.” Chuuya announces, still loud enough to cut over the general noise of the bar. Unfortunately, the room had already fallen silent as their disagreement grew loud enough to catch the other patrons’ attention. The bartender coughed loudly from behind the counter. Chuuya glanced at the sound, then at the rest of the room, then took half a step back and tried to regain some composure.
Dazai fervently prays that if he sits still enough, Chuuya won’t catch sight of him as he takes stock of how many people who overheard him. Probably most of the room, since this was a small place. He’d of course known the bar was mafia owned, that was half the reason he’d picked it. The other reason was its casual atmosphere, it hardly seemed like the kind of place to find a mafia executive, which made it seem ideal at the time.
Upon further examination, it really should’ve occurred sooner to him that an unpretentious hole in the wall bar would actually suit Chuuya’s true taste if he was feeling particularly sick of mafia business for the day. Why had the ADA come here? Why had any of the other people come here? They were all just groups of coworkers looking to drink the stress of the day away. It was hilariously obvious, now that he stopped to think about it.
For the first time that night, Dazai laughs. It draws the attention of his colleagues, who in turn look in the direction Dazai’s been staring for some time now.
“Ah, Kunikida’s gone and gotten himself in trouble!” Dazai exclaims gleefully. Kunikida is talking in hushed tones with the bartender, who is undoubtedly informing him that they don’t want any trouble with the mafia and could he please refrain from aggravating their important guests or otherwise, take his business elsewhere?
Another person noticed Dazai’s laugh though, and as they finally made eye contact from across the room Dazai felt like someone had dumped a bucket of ice water on him. Still, he had appearances to keep up so he just waved back sunnily, throwing in a wink for good measure.
“Hey Chuuya!” Dazai greeted him brightly as he approached. “Crazy seeing you here, huh?” Chuuya glowered back at him without saying a word. “Anyways, since I got here first I think you all should be the ones to find a new place to drink, okay?” The rest of the table had fallen silent, everyone’s eyes flicking back and forth between Dazai and the unknown but obviously dangerous mafia member that had approached them.
“The fuck are you doing here, bastard?”
“Oh you know, just out spending some quality time with my favorite coworkers!” Atsushi yelps as Dazai throws an arm around his shoulders to emphasize how much fun they were all having together. “You’re having fun, right Atsushi?”
“I guess you could say that,” Atsushi answers weakly, looking a little unhappy to be abruptly drawn into what seemed like a tense conversation. Dazai lets him go.
“I’m not in the mood to start shit. You stay in your corner and we’ll stay in ours and it’ll be like neither of us is here, okay?” For all the angry expressions he was making, Chuuya sounds surprisingly tired. Suddenly, antagonizing a Port Mafia executive in public with all his new colleagues right in the line of fire didn’t seem like a good use of energy this evening.
“Sure, sure.” Dazai looks away, bored and dismissive. “Just keep it down, I don’t need my evening further interrupted by barking dogs.” Chuuya’s fist tightened in frustration, but he didn’t say anything. Instead, he turned back to his companions and found a table out of the direct line of Dazai’s sight.
The ADA table sits in uncomfortable silence for a moment, until Kunikida comes slinking back after being firmly scolded by the bartender. Dazai pokes fun at Kunikida’s natural inclination for aggression, the table laughs, and finally Dazai feels in control of the situation again. He lets out a deep breath he had barely realized he was holding, and finally relaxes into the evening again.
+++
and the upcoming sequel when you go out for drinks with your coworkers and everyone else is done but youre an alcoholic so you stay for another drink and then another and now it’s just you and your ex rival whatever that means in a silent arms race of who will cave first and eventually you start talking because you are finally drunk. and broke.

Dead Apple Movie Report/Summary
as promised, here’s my reaction thread/summary/speculations/theories about the Dead Apple Movie!!! sorry it’s a day late orz
everything under the cut because IT’S LONG. the CR subs comparison is c/o Fayto-san!!!! i watched the movie in SE Asia, so it’s a different company who handled the subtitles/distribution (it’s ODEX).
here goes! (also a warning/enticement: i’m shamelessly biased towards chuuya and soukoku)
Extra Notes:
- we probably got ourselves perma-banned so many places yesterday (the restaurant where we had lunch, the coffeeshop we went to pre-movie, the foodcourt where we had our post-movie drink, the entire mall itself....) because we were..... quite wild haha
- we took up a whole row in the cinema and there was another group that had their own row behind us! they're chuuya fans too, which is always awesome. the girl behind me is educating her new-to-the-fandom friend to ship soukoku "even if dazai is an asshole", which is Big Mood.
- certain someones (lol) cough "walking dead show" whenever soda is onscreen;;;;; if only They Knew that was the actual theme of the show (more on that below)
- our group was the loudest in the squealing/shrieking ahahaha. and aside from the obvious chuuya and soukoku scenes, we were the loudest at: (1) ALL THE GIRLS (each time yosano/agatha/tsujimura/kyouka's mom appeared, there's guaranteed squealing; Kyouka is Best Girl); (2) akutagawa's Dynamic Entry & akutagawa's curl-up lol; (3) that scene in the OP with the pm dazai & ada dazai; (4) the backstab scene; (5) dazai's handcuff escape & pill swallow. we were also fairly loud at some of atsushi's scenes, but it was more out of laughter??? like.... tiger son, you're kinda unintentionally funny/narmy this movie;;;;
- the people behind us each time there's an atsukyou scene: "BUT. SHE'S. 14." / "she's cuuuute" / "but. she's. 14."
- drinking game: drink for (1) each time atsushi yells kyouka's name - you won't make it out alive within the first 30 mins. slightly easier version: drink for (2) each time there's an orphanage flashback. fast-paced version: drink for (3) each time the "CLAWSSSS" was repeated
Movie Itself:
- chuuya's dynamic entry is so cool, pink motorbike included. like 30% of movie budget probably went to the animation of that scene. it's also asdfghk;da that chuuya tooling/destroying buildings is like, part of his theme in this movie. also, it makes me excited to see a pm days!soukoku driving a car to a mission - they both drive like hell lol
- dazai's "hi, chuuya~" haunts me until now, like. stop sounding so sassy and flirty, gdI but then again, dazai's teasing voice when he talks to chuuya the entire time is sassy and flirty so. asdfhgla
- dazai's “It would have been interesting if Chuuya got struck with lightning instead.” made us shriek because pre-movie, we were discussing that the French term for lightning strike, "le coup de foudre" is associated with love at first sight
- dazai complaining that because chuuya arrived 5 mins late, dazai had to get hit 3 times & chuuya just rolling with that = old married couple vibe much;;;;
- on a more serious note - it's very interesting to see this side of chuuya - in his previous appearances, he was the type to immediately blow his fuse whenever dazai says something to infuriate him, but this time, while he still bickers with dazai, there's a serious edge to it? chuuya's about to deal with the cause of death of his sheep fa(r)m, after all.
- (also - wtf was that dude holding a gun to dazai's head doing??? he just allowed dazai, his hostage, to fucking talk in the communicator the entire time???? bro, you ok??? are you sure you're a villain??? it would be funny tho if the 3 smacks that dazai was talking was 1 smack per sentence that he said on the communicator - because he did say 3 hahaha)
- chuuya activating For The Tainted Sorrow wordlessly (come to think of it, he has never said anything to activate For The Tainted Sorrow? like, everyone else says their ability name....) and on a whole building range = fucking lit. i wonder how's the range/control for his ability... because he managed to knock every single one of the mooks (incl the Lightning User) on that building rooftop in like, 3 seconds. and he managed to do it *without* crushing his bike, which is also on the roof, so he's able to do fine-tune who can be affected.
- chuuya so very tsun-tsun and dishonest when he wants to "help"!!! like aside from destroying buildings, being married w/dazai and being beautiful - one of chuuya's themes in the movie is that.... he does things that others tell him to, in two ways. one is if it's an order/job - which he'll only take from his superior/boss. another is if it's a debt he has to repay.
- soukoku then meets shibusawa; dazai says that all the gems that shibu's throwing away are wasted and it would have made for a good gift to women. chuuya asks for shibu to return the sheep fa(r)m, but shibu says that the sheep won't return because they committed the (apple) suicide. (so the sheep are Ability users? at least these six?)
- in the crunchyroll ver, shibu calls chuuya (&dazai?) "boring guests", while in odex ver, he calls them "bored guests"
- upon hearing confirmation that sheep fa(r)m is deader than dead, chuuya activates corruption wordlessly and tells dazai to not stop him. dazai actually acquiesces to that order w/o mouthing off, so it's good to see that he actually acknowledges how important it is for chuuya to avenge the sheep fa(r)m, despite the events in 15...
- building with soukoku&shibu explodes....... and camera pans to dramatically billowing in the wind coat of fyodor as he watches the proceedings, and calls it great entertainment. (so fyodor has already seen corruption at work? hmmmmm)
- re: the ADA briefing re: shibusawa....... like. ranpo-san. if you already knew how everything will happen/end......can you like.......inform the rest of ADA too......
- the fog events where a fog appears then disappears after a *few minutes* leaving behind a corpse of an Ability user started 3 years ago. the info that they have on shibu is that he's 29, he's an ability user, he goes by "collector", and he's the person responsible for the fog events
- also laughing at how... the meeting kunikida & tanizaki went to, to meet with the Special Ops agent... so shady hahaha. though apparently, this is the first time that the "calling card" of a stabbed, juicy apple is left behind.
- tanizaki: "why an apple?" / kunikida: "how should i know?" asd;sfha;ds why is that your main concern tanizaki, there's a dead person there in front of you hahahaha
- (flashback to bar lupin - dazai asking soda if he knows about apple suicides & soda replying that it's cinderella..... and dazai saying that soda is really interesting because of that.....dazai, your definition of interesting.... is if people don't know cultural/literary references? and soda's an aspiring author at this point??? do you sure??? and dazai giving such motives to snow white ahahaha, the definition of overthinking....;;;)
- dazai gets ambushed by ango in front of bar lupin after dazai took the pill (that would supposedly eventually act as an antidote) (like.....how the fuck did dazai end up hiding that pill in his mouth for that long and he kept on talking a lot and it didn't slip or melt wHAT) & ango says that dazai's the one who brought shibu back to yokohama;;; dazai doesn't get captured by ango's team, bec that's when the fog appears
- (atsushi sleeps inside kyouka's closet???? like............why. i thought he had his own dorm room before??? and kyouka's apparently living (in the dorm???) that's quite far away from the agency itself, bec they had to walk a long way to reach the agency?? i was initially thinking it was like, just behind the office or just the next street over hahaha
- ADA budget apparently is spent on high-tech communicators (just use special satellite phones asdj;asd) and fancy gun storage. i'm a bit disappointed that there wasn't a flamethrower. also, the gun that kuni gave atsushi??? had so many fucking bullets.
- ango and his team is able to monitor the fog in yokohama so they're.... not in yokohama? do they have like an airship or something? the fog is apparently able to remove any non-ability users in the vicinity & separate the ability user from his gift. ango reveals that the HQ of the enemies is an abandoned tower called Mukurotoride in the middle of yokohama and i'm just.... did nobody ever think that an abandoned tower in the middle of a busy city isn't damn suspicious???? it's apparently been there for a long time ffs
- (atsushi has this one-track mind that because dazai saved him, then dazai must be good at all costs, which is. i'd love to say it's because he trusts dazai, but it's more like those fanatic belief, really. it would be great if the manga can explore this deeper - because atsushi's hypocrisy is a really interesting facet of his character. atsushi who doesn't even want to point his gun towards the enemy abilities in the beginning and who say that 'even if he's a villain, we don't know the type of person he is...' 'no matter how bad they are, there's no need to kill them', but when akutagawa says that bec dazai is an enemy now, he'll kill him, atsushi reflexively points a gun at aku...)
- ango's subordinates track chuuya (A5158) down and sends him a message to "pay his debt to professor glasses"
- bitch trio scene! shibusawa's theme of boredom bec he's apparently that much of a genius whose intellect can't be surpassed. dazai says that he's just like shibu before, bored beyond belief. when shibu asks dazai how he's surpassed it, dazai claims that he's going to show shibu and that shibu doesn't know what's dazai's true intentions. shibu shoots it down by saying that it's only dazai who thinks he's fushigi mystery. dazai says that shibu needs salvation.... by either an angel or a demon.
- and because call a demon and he'll appear, fyodor appears. who tells the two that they're the only ones who think they're being mysterious because they're pretty easy to read. (shibu then calls fyodor "Majin Fyodor-kun" ahhh). dazai claims that fyodor's the one most likely to betray shibu, which fyodor agrees with. shibu just says that there hasn't been anyone who surpassed his expectations, so he's looking forward to it.
- during the entire bitch trio scene, there's a focus on apples and a certain skull.
- aku telling kyouka that she now has the opportunity to kill him in an ability-less world asdfgh;lasd
- the PM apparently has made an emergency passage specially made to counteract ability user-attacks and can't be penetrated by the fog?? i wonder how they made it?? a nullifying ability from dazai??? hmm
- aku says that the fog is a "dragon's breath" & aku schooling atsushi on information gathering is asdfjg;asd (i wonder who gave the info to aku though....? probs mori haha)
- at this point, i'm gonna jump the explanations and go with - during this entire movie, shibusawa is already dead. he's a walking dead. except for That One Flashback, shibu is dead.
- shibu then welcomes the bitch trio to his collection room, Draconia. which is filled with crystallized abilities. the room has abilities that are bright red and dull red - apparently, all the ability users that is engulfed with the mist will have crystals in the room - once the ability user has been defeated by their ability, the ability will be crystallized and will become a bright red gem inside the collection room. the collected ability can then be taken and used by anyone who's holding the red gem.
- fyodor says that the collection is enough to make a devil jealous, while shibu says that fyodor sold him information about most of the ability users in his collection, which is how he was able to collect them. (remember in the Fyodor v A chapter - fyodor got himself captured so he can steal the notes/docs about Port Mafia members. *more on this below)
- Shibusawa: But how did you gather all that information? Fyodor: Every city is filled with rats. Dazai: Meow.
- that meow also haunts me hahahaha
- shibu then basically says that he's actually just looking for That One Special Ability to make the collection worthy
- akuatsukyou arrive at the end of the passage? but it's foggy, so either the fog is stronger, they're outside of the passage, or aku's lying about the passage being impenetrable by the fog asd;fasd
- Shibusawa: To me, people are nothing but machines of flesh, behaving in identifiable ways. But there is just one person I fail to comprehend. Myself. Dazai: Don't you have any friends? Shibusawa: I don't need friends. I understand everyone's mind, after all. I will surely go to the world beyond, between my lines, past the blank spaces. Dazai: You wouldn't be saying that if you actually had friends.
- this exchange is just so asdfgj'asds like pls you two
- akutagawa summarizes rashomon's ability as.... "to change a cloth to a blade and send it flying towards the enemy". i'm so proud of how aku's able to utilize that ability and create so many things (so demon armor is literally like a suit of blades??? damn son);;; (also, this brings to mind the saying "silk hiding steel" hahaha)
- aku defeating rashomon by slapping it towards the vat of lava..... damn son again;;;; aku going "just as planned", then rashomon apparently survives and aku changes it to "just as i expect from my own ability" ahahahaha.... and aku telling rashomon that he should quiet down and that he belongs in there (in his coat).... ahh bless him
- atsushi shattering the crystal on Byakko by shoving the blade inside its mouth.... is apparently Foreshadowing for something later
- chuuya complaining that he's being expected to go to ango's facility by one phone call.... but chuuya.... you still went..... ;;;;;
Chuuya: You've got some nerve, expecting me to answer your phone call like I'm on your beck and call. Ango: May we have some time alone? This is a government facility. You don't expect to get away doing something like this, do you? (referring to chuuya probs destroying a dozen doors in the process of him reaching ango's office) Chuuya: I'll be the one to decide if I do or not. Not you. Ango: You have a debt to me. Chuuya: No, you have a debt with me. Ango: What are you talking about? Chuuya: Don't act dumb. Do you think I'm stupid? It's about what happened six years ago. Ango: What do you mean? Chuuya: It was the government who sent Shibusawa into the Dragon Head Conflict. It was supposed to end the conflict that had engulfed all of Yokohama. But he never had any intention of maintaining peace. All you did was create more corpses. You sheltered him anyway, because he's a gifted that can help in protecting the nation. That's why, not only did you turn a blind eye to all the corpses he'd produced overseas, you covered it all up. Ango: All for the peace in this nation. Chuuya (grabbing Ango): Watch your mouth, professor glasses. If you hadn't sent him out, all six of my friends would be alive right now. Ango: Will you kill me? I wouldn't mind. I've been prepared ever since I'd decided to ask for your assistance. Chuuya (throwing Ango aside): It's a deal, then. I'll accept your job. And you'll pay with your life.
- back at the creepy beautiful castle:
- fyodor and dazai utter the "keikaku doori" line, which means shit is about to go down - apparently fyozai had made a team-up to sneak into the collection room w/o shibu knowing - dazai reveals that he worked to "guide" shibu in yokohama because shibu is someone that can't be touched because he has the protection of the government... which means that he'll just continue filling up his collection room with ability users and japanese gov't will just turn a blind eye to it, and therefore shibu must be stopped by other means - fyodor says that even w/o dazai meddling with shibu, shibu would create a fog in yokohama. - fyodor takes out 2 abilities. 1st ability can summon all ability users in the area and teleport them to a single place. 2nd can turn the abilities of the gifted who touch it into crystals. (was A a foreshadowing for this all along? A's ability is to change the lifespan of his subordinates to jewels....what is with fyodor and ability users re: gems hahah) - fyodor holds up the 2 gems so that dazai can touch it and nullify it
- (a side note: at this point, here are the characters who've been shown to still retain their abilities: Dazai, Chuuya, Fyodor*more on this later; Dazai because his nullification still works; Chuuya, because he still had that glowy red when he dealt with ango and cracked an entire office wall in the process)
- the logic is that, if dazai touches the 2 gem abilities... the crystals will be broken and the abilities will return to their "former state"*** (v important) and the ability to summon all ability users in one place (aka The Fog) will be cancelled and therefore fog will disappear
- fyodor offers the 2nd gem first... dazai touches it.... but instead of the abilities returning to their owners, the abilities escaped from the crystal shells inside the collection room and fused into one
- before dazai can work on dispelling the fog by touching the 1st gem, shibusawa stabs dazai in the back with a fruit knife. shibu says that he expected this, bec nothing surpasses his expectations. dazai just blandly says "i see... so this is where the betrayal happens", bec fyodor had supposedly locked the door to the collection room when they entered it, but woopsie, apparently not, because fyodor values entertainment
- dazai asks shibu what's his next step, but shibu says that his target is dazai anyway, so there's "no next"
- dazai says that he didn't expect a fruit knife to hurt this bad, so there must be poison in it
- shibu tells dazai that he can now taste the death he's longed for dearly
- in CR subs: dazai says: "How could you? This feels great" while in ODEX subs, dazai says: "What have you done? This doesn't feel great at all", which i think makes more sense
- fyodor says that "with the owner dead, the ability leaves him", and dazai "dies" and "no longer human" crystallizes
- (a side note: so it's confirmed that if ability user dies, ability leaves him.... but what happens to it next? is it transferred to a next person? how about its effects? the people that yosano healed... will their effects be gone and therefore the people will regain their wounds??)
- shibu holds NLH in his palms. shibu's very excited to see NLH crystallized because it very blue (as opposed to the red-gem abilities), the blue changes to red, gemblocking him.
- (presumably, NLH activates?? but.... fyodor held the two gems before and they didn't really activate.... but maybe they didn't because they were already active??)
- Fyodor: The merging ability (the 1st gem, aka: The Fog, aka Shibusawa's Ability) and the disabling ability (NLH). With the two contrary abilities becoming one, a singularity is born. Even with Dazai's special ability, what you really desire-- your lost memories-- will never come back.
- fyodor then says that he'll help shibu recover his memories, and slits his throat
- (joint orphanage flashback time!! c/o atsu and shibu as shibu regains his memories! shibu experiments on young atsushi by electrocuting him. shibu says that the president was mistaken about atsushi's ability, implying that atsushi's real ability isn't Beast Underneath the Moonlight. it's apparently a Very Special Ability, but atsushi's not able to use it properly because of his youth/inexperience. shibu says that even he isn't able to pull the ability out and collect it with his fog.
- in CR subs, shibu says that: "It's the only special ability that won the envy of all other gifted." // in ODEX subs, shibu says that: "It's a special ability that can grant the wishes of other ability users"
(a side note - if his real ability is an ability that can grant his wish, it's possible that atsushi probably read a picture book somewhere or got influenced into thinking that Tigers are Bad. his ability goes haywire, bec it was too strong and he was too young to control it, so atsushi's ability has formed into a tiger because atsushi needed something to blame. something beastly. something monstrous. he can't accept that he himself is the one who's hurting others, so he has formed his ability to turn to a tiger. the regeneration, the shounen power ups... they're not very "tiger-like" or it'd make for a very OP tiger, so his ability could be to make his wishes to reality, like "i want to heal!", "i want to be strong!" and the tiger is just the form that atsushi can deal with/can understand. you can even say..... that byakko is his fursona;;;; *gets kicked*)
(more side note: irl!atsushi wrote a story Tiger Poet, which features a man changing to a tiger....that is a poet... so he might have read that story and got an idea re: the tiger. there's a quote there, "We are all the trainers of wild beasts and the beasts in question are our own inner-selves.", which could be atsushi getting the idea of personifying his ability as a tiger so he can "tame it", aka control his ability)
- anyway, young atsushi didn't enjoy the electrocutions, the tiger takes over and claws shibusawa's face off, killing him
- shibu then says that the reason why he targeted atsushi to begin with is because he heard from a Russian named Fyodor that atsushi's ability is special (see the same contrast betw the CR and ODEX subs noted above)
- present time, fyodor then confirms that shibu died at that point. But. upon death, shibusawa apparently inherited a new ability - the ability to split himself (his soul? spirit?) away from his corpse. his body (aka, the skull that's been there the entire time) is the one who remembers death while his mind doesn't remember it and has retreated into a room (the Collection Room) to deal with his Feelings. (so it means that the shibu soukoku faced off in the beginning is walking dead shibu as well, because apparently shibu has gone for the gem collection quest after his death)
- a side note: so Shibusawa's Real/Original Ability is The Fog (1st ability can summon all ability users in the area and teleport them to a single place....and presumably "pull" the ability away from them). after dying, he got the ability to separate his mind from his corpse (redefining mind over matter), presumably given to him by fyodor?. he then gets the ability to turn abilities into crystals, presumably given to him by fyodor too?, then because he's basically a ghost wandering around earth, he tries to find a reason for "existing" to fulfill the void, which leads him to gathering abilities (*more on this later)
- the abilities continue fusing to each other, creating a huge mass. dazai's "dead" body is sucked into that mass.
- fyodor comments that dazia is quite greedy, because even in death, he intends to watch the city fall into destruction. fyodor then says that as congratulation for their anniversary of being friends (LOL; also - they've known each other for a year already? or is fyodor gigglesnorting here and considering that very same day as the start of their friendship?), he'll tell the dead dazai the reason why he managed to keep his ability in the fog.
- a "2nd" fyodor appears, the personification of his ability. he looks exactly like him. they say the "I am crime. I am punishment. Did you know? Crime and punishment are close friends." line ahahaha
- fyodor merges with his ability
- the mass of abilities that sucked dazai in changes for to a dragon
- fyodor reveals that the dragon is the form of the chaos of special abilities. (remember that "original state of abilities" that fyodor said above? apparently, it's a dragon)
- the singularity anomaly readings are over 9000, more than the events 6 years ago (aka, the opening scene). ango checks on chuuya's location to see if he's on his way
Ango: Chuuya-kun... Dazai-kun is almost certainly eliminated by now.Do you understand what that means? (implying that if chuuya ends up using corruption, there's no dazai who'll nullify it, therefore he'll also die) Chuuya: I don't care. Ango: Are you sure? You haven't taken your reward... My life. Chuuya: Don't get cocky, asshole. You were a just lowly infiltrator six years ago. It's not like anyone would have listened to you if you had opposed their plan to use Shibusawa.  (Chuuya lowkey implying that he actually doesn't blame Ango all that much, despite all his talk earlier) Chuuya: This is nothing but that idiot's plans. That Dazai is still inside there. No doubt about it. I need to give him a smack, or I'll never get over it. I'm hanging up.
(can i just say.... chuuya.... even though he has no proof of it whatsoever, he believes that dazai's still alive and waiting for him. ango, who can see the readings of the ability users, knows that dazai's dead. but chuuya----he doesn't need that kind of logic. unconditional trust is here, folks. also, the theories about chuuya actually being able to read dazai's plans/motives??? hell yes)
- chuuya's in a plane approaching the castle (so confirmed that ango's office really is floating over yokohama??? or at least not near it?)
Tsujimura: We're approaching the target. Chuuya: You're that chick from way back. Tsujimura: I'm Tsujimura. Are you really going? Chuuya: Yeah. Tsujimura: It's no use. No human can defeat it. That thing is a monster beyond human comprehension. Get overconfident and fight it, and you'll die. (lowkey spoilers about chuuya being beyond human, thanks bones) Chuuya: That's not a reason to chicken out and go home. Do you know when it's all right to chicken out and go home? Tsujimura: I do not. Chuuya (jumping off the plane): There is no such time.
(chuuya's badass way of removing his gloves and jumping off and his hat and coat flying off???? the whole cinema SCREAMED)
- chuuya chants the "grantors of dark disgrace" line and corruption activates
- chuuya lands on a building, breaks it down to chunks and launches them at the dragon (with dazai inside hahaha)
- extended battle scene with chuuya just battling a dragon, which is the force of a fuckton of ability users' abilities combined, and nailing it. like. just. think about it. the dragon is formed by the force of all the abilities. and there's like, more than 128 of them (as per the initial briefing with ADA). chuuya actually defeated the force of that many ability users. fuck.
- chuuya jumps down to a huge-ass building, floats it and uses it to beat up a dragon. a building is being used as a baseball bat to hit a dragon. the sheer scale and ridiculousness of how powerful he is??? amazing.
- chuuya ends up ramming the building to the dragon's mouth. that's how the fight ends. he makes the dragon choke on AN ENTIRE BUILDING.
- chuuya then yells "DAZAIIIIIIIIIIII" as the dragon explodes (while he's still in corruption mode)
- chuuya reaches dazai, who's inside the dragon, and chuuya (still in corruption mode) punches dazai in the face
- the punch is apparently the key needed for dazai to bite down on the pill, releasing the antidote to the poison (if only romeo and juliet knew about this method...)
- dazai lives. chuuya coughs out blood from using corruption for too long.
- they float in the air and dazai. just. softly touches chuuya's cheek, disabling corruption.
Dazai: You believed in me and used Corruption? I'm so touched I could cry. Chuuya: Yeah, I did. I believed in your disgusting craftiness and refusal to die.* Dazai: That was a somewhat violent way of waking Snow White. Chuuya: You're the one who planned it by hiding an antidote in your mouth, knowing I'd punch you.
...JUST.
dazai's voice.
chuuya. admitting that he believes in dazai. in ODEX subs, it was "i believed in the fact that you wouldn't die", which is extra doki in that ----- even though they've said "i'll kill you" to each other so many times (even in the beginning of the movie) and even though chuuya knows about dazai's double suicide longings.... he still believes that dazai wouldn't die.
and just. dazai implying that he's snow white. and chuuya just rolling with it????? dazai implying that chuuya's the prince who woke up snow white. and chuuya just rolling with it????????
this is high-level flirting i CANNOT
and chuuya KNOWING that him being here is part of dazai's plans and him being here anyways knowing that (even though he had mentioned about dazai's plans always toying with him---)--------------- i CANNOT
Chuuya: Let go, asshole. Dazai: (*dazai presses down on chuuya's head to prevent him from moving*) Don't move. The fog hasn't cleared. I don't want to have to protect you from your special ability in this situation. Chuuya: It's still not over? Dazai: No, it's just beginning. Chuuya: Shit. I can't even move a single finger. (Chuuya collapses into Dazai's thigh, his face/chin landing on Dazai's upper right thigh/hip) Dazai: I predicted things this far. But the rest is on them.
and of course. the lap scene. the scene that killed everyone in the cinema. just. there's no words that can bring it justice. the fuwafuwa atmosphere. the shoujo music background during the floating then the lap scene. the sound of dazai's hand patting chuuya's head. the body placements. the camera angles. that pic in the magazine???? oh boy the actual scene, the extended scene is 10000000000x gayer.
just think.
dazai. who shoved atsushi off when he fell on him.
dazai. who had chuuya fall on his crotch and legs and just. let him stay there. like yes, the point is that dazai has to keep on touching chuuya so he can nullify chuuya's ability and therefore not have his powerful ability have a separate form that can fight them. but they didn't have to stay in that position, did they? i mean, chuuya can't move but dazai could have shoved him off, right? he could have touched him using anything else but keeping him between his legs and patting his head/hair right.
.............BUT WAIT.
dazai.
before he "died".
he.
already nullified the ability to form abilities to crystals. the only ability left is shibusawa's fog, which can trap ability users in one place and extract the ability from them (and just that. the abilities shouldn't be trying to hunt down their "owners" anymore, because no more moon crystal power. right???)
so.
dazai........didn't really have to keep touching chuuya then?
.......is that so. huh.
.....i see.
sasuga dazai.
(i mean even that conjecture is incorrect - as in the Fog can also make abilities fight their owners, aside from just extracting them..... did dazai really have to touch chuuya like that????? .....he really did, huh. i see. sasuga dazai)
.........also. the ability, even if given form, only attacks the owner. (except for that lol-worthy case of rashomon and the tiger having different ideas and attacking each other). so if dazai, as he says, really hates chuuya and wants him to die...... he can..... just let the ability kill chuuya, right??? he doesn't *have* to protect chuuya from it, right? his keikaku that will allow him to use the antidote pill is done, right....? ....ah, but he has to protect chuuya... i see.... sasuga dazai) (unless dazai thinks that chuuya's ability would also hunt him down, in which case.......... dazai, you think yourself that important to chuuya that his ability will hunt you too, huh...... i see.... sasuga dazai)
....also.
dazai.
saying that this is within his predictions, while he's holding the collapsed chuuya to his thigh. still with his hands on chuuya's head. dazai....... why are you predicting that chuuya will end up in your lap. more importantly, why does your predictions END once you have chuuya in your lap. you're leaving the akuatsukyou children to fend for themselves and didn't predict the next parts because you got chuuya in your lap already. .....i see. sasuga dazai;;;;
(a sidenote. from above. fyodor sold the port mafia's information re: ability users to shibusawa. the ability users that shibu knows about will be in the collection room, their abilities getting taken from them. chuuya has his ability The Entire Movie. he didn't lose for the tainted sorrow, at all. so.
- chuuya's ability too strong and can't be extracted, just like atsushi - OR chuuya's ability not in port mafia records - OR chuuya's info is there, but incorrect/incomplete - OR chuuya's info is there, fyodor kept chuuya's ability's information and didn't sell it (a good theory for fyoya fans???) - OR collection room can only get abilities from humans?
(signs point to the first one....... but the other options are also hmmmmm)
- fyodor planting a broken crystal of shibusawa's original ability crystal on the skull's head (it looks like a goddamn horn) so that shibu becomes the "point of singularity" in lieu of the dragon bec dragon is dead. fog continues.
- shibusawa realizing that all his plot?? at collecting abilities? is just his way of trying to cope with the fact that his real thirst lies with atsushi. no really. he just really, really, really wants to see atsushi again.
- another sidenote: AGATHA IS A QUEEN. also, we're laughing about how Agatha is in command of EU. (no brexit in BSD world, apparently) (but also crying a bit because..... Verlaine and Rimbaud and the Trancendentals could be part of the clock tower order??? because there's 12 Transcendetals, there's 12 #s in a clock and they're from france, therefore europe, therefore part of EU therefore----)
- THAT FUKUMORI BACK TO BACK SCENE. MOTHER OF FUCK. mori having faith in dazai's keikaku..... but he's wrong.... because dazai's keikaku had already ended a few minutes ago, with chuuya in his lap. (but really. so mori can't 100% predict dazai, apparently. because mori thinks that it's still within dazai's plan, but dazai says it's not anymore, so.) also. mori being able to kill the ability-elise but not doing so because of the power of cute??? wow, just wow.
Mori: Fukuzawa-dono. Fukuzawa: What a coincidence, Mori-sensei. Mori: Are you having a problem? Fukuzawa: I've just had a glimpse of a solution. Mori: Excellent. Is it not at times like these that your daily actions speak? (They attack each other's abilities) Fukuzawa: I thought you only used your scalpel. I'll be careful from now on. Mori: No mercy, even for an endearing girl. The lone swordsman, Silver Wolf. You are indeed full of sin.* (CR: you are indeed guilty; ODEX: you are indeed, full of sin) Fukuzawa: That was nothing but a demon. Elise: Hey, Rintarou! What the heck are you doing, leaving me behind?! Mori: It's the real Elise-chan~ Fukuzawa: I think she's a demon either way.
- the akukyouatsu v shibu fight continues, with shibusawa basically saying, "ATSUSHI THE LIGHT OF MY LIFE" in repeat. the reference re: tiger v dragon is brought up. shibu says that he's not bored anymore bec atsushi's there.
- the tiger and the dragon are enemies. (more on that here: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TigerVersusDragon) apparently, because the dragon represents all the abilities fused together, the tiger is the opposite (......so..... tiger = no abilities? hmmmmm. no wonder fyodor wants him. it's the fulfillment of his goal of a world without abilities, then?). shibu says that atsushi's ability is the opposite of all the abilities, the most special ability of all. atsushi's ability crystallizes, but before shibu can take it, atsushi grabs and says "that's not an ability, that's me!"
- (side note:
- i wasn't expecting that atsushi (whether it's the beast underneath the moonlight or the possibility that his is an ability that takes the form of his desires/wishes) would be the opposite of all the abilities. i would think it's more of dazai's or someone who can erase an ability, but. MC powers? - then again. all of shibusawa's info came from fyodor. so it's also highkey possible that this is all Fake News from fyodor)
Shibusawa: I understand everything, now. Why I'm here, why you appeared before me, and what his words mean... You... You must be the angel who saves me.
- shibu proving dazai right that "an angel" saved him, though technically a "demon" saved him "from death" before too....
- atsushi kills shibu for the second time by crushing his skull
- AGATHA. BEING DISAPPOINTED. THAT YOKOHAMA IS SAVED. because. "The scent of a burning nation goes well with tea." AGATHAAA
- at the end of fighting, chuuya's propped up against the wall of rubble (YOU KNOW THE ONE). his hat apparently landed a few feet away from him. (did dazai drag him there so he can be near his hat? did dazai look for the hat?? did the hat get magically pulled to where chuuya is??).
akutagawa appears.
chuuya asks what the hell is he doing here, then says that the idiot dazai is safe.
akutagawa..... bows to chuuya.
like damn.
akutagawa "DON'T YOU ORDER ME, YOU FOOL" ryuunosuke, bowing down to chuuya. a+++++++++
but then akutagawa starts to leave chuuya behind ahahahaha
and chuuya goes..... what, you're just gonna leave me here when you see i can't walk what. but seriously, his line is: "Oi. Lend me a shoulder."
(so.... dazai and chuuya were together till daybreak, in time for chuuya to wake up, for the spoonDI cover to be shot, for them to have matching bruises on their lips in that photo, huge smiles in their faces, for dazai to change clothes, for chuuya to be unable to walk.......... i don't to say they banged in the rubble, but they totally banged in the rubble.)
- dazai basically saying that, welp i did this keikaku and harmed so many things! - atsushi: but dazai is helping yokohama!!! - Dazai: Do I look like such a good person?
- atsushi.... i want to say it's your trust or that it's your naivete, but...... are you sure you have eyes lol
- dazai reveals that he hopes that shibu managed to fill his boredom and loneliness..... dazai, stop projecting your issues on others. stop helping others with your same issues achieve happiness.... do it to yourself first please.....
- as the ending song plays... we have this scene from ango:
Ango: Given the complexity of the three masterminds' motivations, we still don't have a full picture. Dazai-kun's the same as usual, and demon Fyodor's intentions are impossible to comprehend. But, beyond all the scheming and lying, the incident may fundamentally be very simple. How is a man like Shibusawa, so intelligent that others look like alien creatures to him, to act, to be destroyed, or to be saved? To be one of three aliens in the world, in isolation and loneliness... I can't even imagine it.
.....like, given the movie. it really is a good summary. all these genius aliens.... they actually have such simple thoughts.
- shibu did all of that, but he just really wanted to see atsushi again. - fyodor did all of that, but he just really wanted to be a bitch and have fun. (and maybe kill all ability users eventually) - dazai did all of that, but he just really wanted to try an apple suicide and be saved just like snow white.
.....one of it is not like the others, ahahaha;;;;;;
- chuuya looking beautiful in the ending scene, as he talks with mori
Chuuya: Were you aware of the trick, Boss? (*referring to dazai not really dying? and using that antidote pill?) Mori: Dazai-kun was acting on his own, and I expected he would need your help. As a forerunner. Chuuya: So I was an opening act? Mori: Dazai-kun decides the star. (in ODEX: Dazai-kun was the one who decided on the star.) Chuuya: And what do I get in return? Mori: The return of order in this city. Chuuya: The peace of this city, huh? Mori: Good work. Chuuya: You don't need to thank me. It was your order, so I'm just doing my job.
- asdfgj;asd - mori #1 soukoku shipper confirmed. like. even if he has that much faith in dazai's plans (see above), he also has a lot of belief that dazai's plans will work if chuuya's there to help.
and that "dazai decides the star"/"dazai decided (on you) being the star.... and chuuya....... just rolling with it. he's not ok with simply being an "opening act" ahhaahh. and mori knowing that dazai made the plan with chuuya having the starring role. and chuuya Knowing that too.
and here comes chuuya's concept of "reward" again.... does this boy get paid.......
chuuya's reward being yokohama's peace???? is he really part of the mafia??????????? a pure boy. someone give him the yokohama peace prize.
- second to the last scene is fyodor still creeping on them:
Fyodor: Everything is but entertainment. But in order to end this world, rife with crime and punishment, I really do need that book. The blank novel sleeping in this town.
(so Book's location is confirmed to be in Yokohama at this point)
- final scene with ADA doing business as usual and atsukyou going out for a mission? to buy crepes? to buy chazuke? idk

06/19 (a fic for dazai's bd)
pardon the mistake i make in this, its really unplanned since i have work so yea...maybe crappy? i dont have an ao3 account so i will post it on my tumblr...my first ever completed fanfic...here we go~
06/19
a Dazai’s birthday fic
I have always wonder why am i born on such melancholy season, a summer that rain nearly everyday. However rain is an important essence to hydrangeas blooming.
Colors of blue, purple, pink, white are base off the different PH level in the water that they are shower with daily.
Rainy seasons are often describe as gloomy and moody for majority people especially kids or those who have an outdoor activities planned. Not everyone despise or hate the rain, like me,it's nice to have cooling rain drops on your skin and its a free bath! Wellll what i don't understand is this word called “Birthday”, yea it is certainly meaning the day you are born but what is it to celebrate such day when my only wish is to stop existing? I do hate this word and dreaded for this day to arrive therefore i did not mention or give an answer to the date and month of my birth.
Joining the Armed Detective Agency does change my perspective of every single little thing be it happy or sad also how people express their emotions...not the whole world is filled with harsh, cruel people or choice… i guess they have gave me what a family suppose to feel...warm and kindness...smiles that have no hidden objectives to it.
Its June 19th today.I do have plans of attempting another suicide later at the end of day… I do also expect that the members of ADA to throw a party of me turning a year older hoping to surprise me. Stopping in front of this door with a bronze plated name that i always open without hesitation or even to take a second look at it, it is the door that brought what Odasaku wants me to do, the ability to be in the light saving and helping people instead of shooting them down coldly. Family huh…
Steeling my nerves, putting on my best smile as i open the door into the bright noisy party as they shouts “Happy Birthday” in chorus. Balloons that decorated the office, a big rainbow cakes and lots of food, cheerful cheeky smile with all the amount of effort just to surprise me. I am honestly surprise as the scenes unfold before me… Atsushi-kun broke my inner thoughts by putting a cone-shaped hat crowning me as the birthday boy of the day and Fukuzawa gave a short speech of thanks for my years of commitment before everyone sings the Birthday song for me, even Kunikida sings along with with a reluctant look that makes it the  most entertaining thing of the party. Slices of cake being pass around after i make a wish(as they insists about) and blowing off the candle. I got questioned by nearly everyone about what wish did i make while receiving gifts of different shapes and size wrapped in colorful papers.
In the amidst of joyous noise, a chime followed by brief vibration came from my pocket as i went ahead to check my phone. Grinning, as i expect to receive a mail with a single sentences of :”You know where and what time to meet later.” Snapping my phone shut as the crowd around found a new question due to my facial expression that gave it away, persistently questioning me who is the sender and what is in the mail yet all i reply with is a smile, giving no solid answer.
Time passes fast as the day is reaching its end without any major incident while everyone bids goodbye and goes off once it hits 6pm.Like wise, i packed up all the presents, deciding to drop them off at home first before the rain can soak them wet. While setting off to my final destination of the day, it starts to drizzle lazily before turning into a full blown bone soaking storm.Even with the sudden progression of weather i still stroll towards the train station without hurry. It's a short train ride to the stops where Chuuya stays and a few minute walk to the place his apartment is located at. It's a average neighborhood with some tall apartment here and there while traditional house scatters around too. While passing by one that have two storey and very old looking yet charming traditional house, the garden is in full bloom of hydrangea stops me on track due to one thing, the amount of different color hydrangea makes me curious of how it happens even while they grew from the same soil? Without noticing, i took a step into this random property and find a small plastic transparent box at its doorstep, taking a close look, it is filled with assorted color of hydrangea. That is strange...it is as if whoever stays here knows my birthday… looking around the garden and veranda checking if there is anyone around yet i did not find anything suspicious. I decided to take this beautiful box of hydrangea along with me since it is inappropriate to not accept a gift, meanwhile, i did not realise that the rain have stop as i lost in small thoughts of finding whoever owns that property.
Once i reach the apartment building, i sent a quick mail to Chuuya in case he needs more time to prepare my surprise~
Stopping outside his slightly ajar door as if he have been waiting for me for quite a while, pushing open the door as what unravels in front of my vision impress me greatly...a small cake sat on a western garden style table in the middle with two matching chair and freshly blew green tea arrange beside it. The red hair man dress in nearly as red kimono stoods trimming the roll of  hydrangea on his balcony that however, blooms purple and blue. Not that i am disappointed,Chuuya did not turn around while he speaks to me, “Lock the door and sit down, Osamu.” It is rare for him to use my name… Smiling as i settle down and whines, ”Ahhh Chuuya~ My clothes is damp~ Will you get me some dry clothes to change? My bandage too~” This trick always works on him, as he turns around and give me glares with an annoyed expression, he threw me a warm towel that is on his couch as if ready for me, even though he have a foul mouth and bad temper...he still cares for me… Chuuya finally joins me as he sat down laying those small balls of hydrangea on the table while he lits the only candle on it. “Make a wish, you idiot” he says in a soft tone, something that is rare too, that tone. I did as he says, closing my eyes focusing on something while it did not takes long as a warm sensation presses onto my lips, opening my eyes just in time to see Chuuya’s beautiful feature in close range, long eyelashes and fair complexion. It did not take long before he realise my stare while blushing trying not to meet my graze, like a shy maiden in love, chuckling at his embarrassment.
He rudely brokes the romantic atmosphere by blowing off the candle complaining how hungry he is and when ahead to cut the cake. Not a fancy dinner in restaurant or a noisy party either as we both ate in silence like how it was last time...when we celebrates each others birthday even while others don't remember. Now, each of us have people who cares so spending such quiet time for just two is difficult and rare.Looking up at my companion who stops eating and starts grazing at me, i give my best idiotic shit eating grin as he quickly react with a disgusted face, “Chuuya~ You did not wish me Happy birthday yet~ It won't be a perfect birthday without your wishing you know that?~”rolling all this sweetly out of my mouth as he makes a small “hrmp” sound before mumbling it. “Happy Birthday, Osamu…” while looking away again as i laugh this time,”Thank you, Chuuya” sincerely thanking him without a hint of playfulness nor sarcasm,i continued “Thank you for being here all the time…” slowly i look down, without warning, he stood up suddenly and hug me. I… buried my faces in his soft curls of red hair while he gently pats my back as if comforting a over stressed child who lost its way or goal…
We stayed there for a while as if time have frozen,as i suggested sitting on the couch since it looks uncomfortable for our petite size hatrack( he did not wear hat ever since the time i steps in?!). After much struggle, i manage to lie on his lap as fatigue took over me, i fell asleep, strange peaceful sleep surrounded by hydrangea and Chuuya who stands out from all the blues and purples....I wish desperately that morning won't arrive, even if it do, please let him stay with me...forever....
Chuuya continues patting Dazai without a complain while slowly falling asleep....
♢♢♢♢♢♢♢♢♢♢♢
Its raining, warm summer rain that falls on my cheek feels like i am the one crying, yet i am not alone, a deep blue umbrella tilt towards me as i turn around, “You will catch a cold idiot, have those bandage finally rot your ability to think? You know...you reminds me of those hydrangea…”Chuuya pointed to those blue hydrangea in the park “Blooming in a specific season, fragile yet brilliant...right?” I silently nod, “That is why i grew them, since it reminds me of you, Osamu.” Chuuya’s voice fades away as i dive deeper into sleep....
♢♢♢♢♢♢♢♢♢♢♢♢
I woke up to bright sunlight that shines on my face cruelly to find that Chuuya is gone, leaping up in panic to find him in the kitchen cooking breakfast like a housewife, smiling at how he ties his hair gently and his flowery scent from the soap he always use. Quietly, i approach and hugs him as he yelps in surprise chiding me at my childish move. Laughing like this makes me forget how much evils i have done yet at the same time, the good things i done will over weights evil one day, redemption? Maybe...
dont kill me plz...thanks alot for reading *laughs nervously*

Dazai throws Chuuya the knife with thoughtless habit. He doesn't need to aim, doesn't need to care that Chuuya will cut himself on it, doesn't care about the dark of the basement or how his feet slip on the dust that Chuuya's destruction has caused. Chuuya catches the knife by its handle without missing a beat and without flinching.
It doesn't strike him immediately, that he's done that. That Chuuya could read the lack of intent on him so easily.
When it does, he forces a chuckle past the defensiveness rising up his throat. "You should know," he says, and he doesn't remember what he's even talking about.
Chuuya clicks his tongue impatiently and turns around. Dazai wants to look anywhere but the silhouette of him walking away; his eyes catch at Chuuya's shoulder, where his hair is thrown messily—longer than…
He looks away.
But Chuuya turns to face him suddenly, and his face is dark with emotion again, though not the same kind as the shaking of anger, excitement, worry that he's demonstrated before.
"No one caught you, right?" he asks.
It takes a shamefully long second for Dazai to understand what he means. He forces his shoulders to sag and says, "Of course not. Why, want to make sure no one could if you couldn't?"
Chuuya scrutinizes him with downturned lips. He's silent, focused, and the sight isn't unusual but it's also different.
Chuuya at twenty-two looks and acts the same as he did at eighteen. Dazai doesn't doubt that he's matured, is persuaded that the executive's position Chuuya now boasts is more than well-earned, that Mori must have gained a trust in him that he never thought he could when they both acted like children. But Dazai also knows that Chuuya will always rise up to the challenge of him. No amount of maturity can change that.
Dazai taunts, Chuuya snaps back. This is how it goes.
Chuuya's face has thinned, his eyes have darkened, the posturing he did as a teenager now sticks to him like a second skin, natural and easy. But his straightforwardness is real. His emotions run genuine. He's always been made of tougher stuff than Dazai; the lifestyle they once shared will never get under Chuuya's skin the way it did his own. Now with the years the image Chuuya makes isn't a perfect fit. It's similar enough to be recognizable, to be played; it's different enough that Dazai feels something clench at the pit of his stomach.
Dazai wants to smile at the thought, and he also wants to clench his teeth hard enough that his jaw breaks.
He doesn't know what Chuuya sees on his face in that moment. Dazai used to be able to read Chuuya like an open book, but his mind remembers less than his body; Chuuya's expression is inscrutable.
It makes him feel vulnerable in ways he hadn't expected.
"Right," Chuuya says. He sheathes his knife, secures his coat atop his shoulder where his—longer—hair is resting. "Now get that place looking like a kidnapping happened and get the fuck out of here."
Dazai plays Chuuya a little, after this. Makes him ridicule himself, tears an honest laugh out of the bleak depths of his own chest. Just to prove that he still can.
He's not sure whom he's proving it to.
--
This question—no one caught you, right?—stays with him, and Dazai doesn't know why. He knew his assumption that Chuuya had looked for him was wrong even as he made it, because Chuuya would've been too busy fuming that Dazai said nothing at the time to even want to see him. Dazai doesn't think Chuuya has spared a second's worth of his time in trying to find him.
So he doesn't know why Chuuya asked at all.
(Dazai remembers Chuuya in superposed images:
The colorful flash of a young woman's clothes as the man who smells like death tugs him along the wide halls of the port mafia's headquarters for the first time, pace brisk, and it's all cloudy because Dazai is high on painkillers for his leg and the burns along his shoulder blades that shift painfully every time he leans on the crutch, but it's not enough that he doesn't notice the little boy she is holding loosely. The information travels at a snail's pace to his brain, so they're already past him and Mori when Dazai turns around to look and meets the surprise-open face of the boy with red hair—
The red glow on Chuuya's body once the old man who teaches English at their school turns around, and Chuuya floats up, scowling, until he can crawl on the ceiling and escape through the open window right beside Dazai's desk. That is until Dazai reaches up to tickle the skin between sock and pant hem and Chuuya crashes painfully on top of him, swearing like a sailor—
"Cut your fucking hair," Chuuya says after Dazai falls for the third time because he can't see in front of him with one eye wrapped shut. They're twelve and Dazai is taller than Chuuya now, but it's night, they're out of the city, traipsing through a muddy riverbank until they're completely filthy with it. The dirt covers the taint of blood that won't come out from under their fingernails no matter how hard they try, and there's laughter trapped in their chest, almost as painful as sobs. They ache with it.
"Grow yours," Dazai replies, and Chuuya rolls his eyes, but he does.
Dazai remembers Chuuya's fist connecting with his face, the crack of his bones under such small, powerful hands, the spar's referee making a face and saying, Again, because that's what Mori told him to do.
He remembers Chuuya getting angry instead of sad, filling the heavy silence inside him with white-hot rage in a way Dazai will never achieve. He remembers spying on Chuuya's room in Kouyou's quarters just to annoy him and witnessing a fight that was not his to witness. Remembers discovering that not all is green on the other side of the pasture as Chuuya goes to bed without undressing, face red with shame, fingers swollen and bleeding from a grown woman's discipline.
He doesn't make fun of Chuuya's fancy gloves after that. He knows the scars underneath.
The phrase childhood friend is not one that Dazai feels he can use to describe Chuuya. Every good memory is weighed down by ten bad ones. Every stolen smile they've shared breaks in the face of all the times Dazai has hurt Chuuya or let Chuuya hurt for him, all the times Chuuya has worked out his own pain through sparring with his full strength even though he knows Dazai can't compete, leaving Dazai bruised black and blue.
It doesn't change the fact that Dazai still knows the feeling of Chuuya's hair under his fingers when Chuuya falls asleep against him, vulnerable like he never is with anyone else; knows how to make Chuuya laugh and how to make him cry; knows how much of his slow fall from empty to emptier came once he stopped looking at Chuuya to look at work instead. He remembers Chuuya smiling at ten and he remembers Chuuya glaring in silent worry at eighteen. He doesn't think he can ever forget.
Chuuya is a vivid reminder that he can never have this: a boy to call a best friend, to traipse through mud with at nighttime, to fall asleep next to. The facsimiles they created are stained with violence, and Chuuya is embedded between Dazai's ribs not like heartache, but like a stab wound.)
Maybe Chuuya was worried, Dazai thinks, which is absurd, because he knows Chuuya was worried.
Maybe Chuuya's stopped making sense to him, is what he doesn't want to think about.
--
Kunikida is the Director's liaison with the special ability department most of the time. When Kunikida is unavailable, the role falls into Dazai's hands almost sweetly.
Dazai personally thinks that Yosano or Ranpo could do it, but one would interrogate him about it over their weekly drinking, and the other only needs the incentive to want to look and see what Dazai wants no one to look at.
As it turns out, Kunikida is busy.
Spring is an amusing time of the year because half of the office has allergies, and if one of them sneezes then all the others do by reflex. Dazai has induced quite a few sneezing chains during downtime, and Naomi can look innocent all she wants, but Dazai knows a prankster when he sees one.
Kunikida has a mask over his mouth and nose because both his hands are too busy writing and typing to bother covering his face and avoid spitting in everyone else's; his voice is curt, a little rough, when he says, "Just go, Dazai, Sakaguchi's been waiting for ten minutes already."
Dazai stretches his arms above his head, digs his behind further into the formerly neat stack of paperwork he's sitting on. Kunikida is too tired to even glare at him for it. "But I don't want to see Ango."
"Well I don't want to have to see your face every day, but here I am, aren't I?"
Dazai grins, is about to reply in kind, but someone touches his shoulder and gently pushes him off Kunikida's desk. Atsushi doesn't look apologetic at all once their eyes meet. He picks a folder from the stack Dazai has ruined and says, "Dazai-san, just get to work."
And, well. Atsushi is very hard to say no to.
So Dazai drags his feet to the booth at the entrance of the office floor from which Ango has probably heard everything, sits down in front of the man, and doesn't try not to let his impatience show.
The bright fury and ache he felt when he met Ango again months ago are easy enough to hide, now. Dazai makes this effort at least. Ango's gotten the message already.
Ango clears his throat, opens the purple folder he was holding in front of them and points to the map in the middle of it. "We've tracked the stolen data there, but…"
Dazai hums. "That's port mafia property," he says, eyeing the map.
"Indeed," Ango replies. "Which is why that's all we can do for you. And why I highly recommend you drop this case altogether."
Dazai picks up the folder—doesn't smile when Ango pulls his hand back as if scalded—and cradles it in his lap, trying to think.
Ango doesn't let him. "Dazai-kun," he drawls, in that same concerned-condescending tone he's always used and which used to make Dazai laugh but now makes him want to spit bile, "the department really would like to avoid any further all-out conflict between the agency and the mafia."
"Too much work?" Dazai mutters.
"Too much risk," Ango retorts. His face is pale and tired. He looks thirty-five, not twenty-six, and Dazai has to snuff out a spark of something too close to sympathy inside of him, despite everything. "Between the two of you, you possess way too much destructive power. I shouldn't be telling you this, but…"
Dazai lifts his head to look at him. Ango looks sincere, but he did back then as well. There's no telling how sincere Ango is in any given situation.
"We were lucky that you focused your efforts onto getting rid of common enemies these past few months," Ango says heavily. "And that your conflict about Nakajima was resolved through individual fights rather than an all-out war." Dazai almost looks behind, almost seeks the shine of Atsushi's hair as if to make sure he's still here, as Ango continues: "The department can't do anything to shut either of you down because you both have a permit, but we are only the surface of the government's actions toward gifted individuals."
"You think I don't know that?" Dazai replies evenly. His fingers are caught between the pages in his lap, paper digging into the pad of his thumb.
Ango looks pityingly at him and says, "I don't think you do, no."
Dazai is so surprised that he doesn't react when Ango's fingers reach for the folder and take it back. The paper cuts against his thumb, draws a drop of blood to his skin that he sucks into his mouth absently. The taste is as familiar as sugar.
"Sorry," Ango whispers—about the cut.
He immediately looks guilty for saying it.
Dazai almost, almost feels too angry not to respond.
"The special ability department can't—and won't—do anything to stop you even if you declare war on the mafia again. But that's all I can promise." Ango tugs at his collar and looks through the window. The crawling vine that covers this side of the building has grown thick with the warming weather, and sunlight pours green and gold through its leaves and onto his face. Ango's eyes flutter for a moment as if he hasn't felt this sort of warmth on him for eons; and Dazai's mind offers to him a similar sight, whiskey on his tongue and muted yellow light overhead, as three friends relax on uncomfortable bar stools.
He swallows, slow and easy, so his throat won't knot up. "We need the data erased, though," he says. "For our client's safety."
The spell is broken; Ango turns back to him, looking severe and exhausted. "Stop accepting clients who get tangled in the port mafia's messes, then. But don't break into their facilities."
"It wouldn't be the first time. I'm sure I can squeeze in some leniency from them even if they catch me." Dazai's smile aches. "My previous boss still likes me very much, after all."
"And how long do you think Mori Ougai's leniency will last?" Ango questions, teeth clenching almost unconsciously. "I do hope you're not naïve enough to think his offer to have you back was more than a ploy to beat your opponents of the time, Dazai-kun."
Dazai isn't. He doesn't think Ango knows Mori like he does, however. He sits back into the couch, sighs some of his tension out, and crosses his arms across his chest.
"Can you do it?" he asks, looking directly into Ango's eyes, and Ango tugs his glasses up deliberately slowly before answering.
"You know perfectly well that we can't even consider the thought of encroaching on mafia property."
"Miss being the arbiter, don't you?" Dazai smirks joylessly. "How I wish I'd been there to see your boss hand that permit to Mori. I bet Mori laughed until he couldn't breathe."
Ango's face doesn't twitch, but Dazai reads the truth of his assumption on it anyway.
"As I said," Ango says, breaking away from Dazai's eyes. "You'll just have to tell your client that they're free to hire any private contractor to retrieve the data instead of you."
"Sure." They both know no private investigator will risk encroaching on mafia property either.
Dazai waits for Ango to move out of the way so he can rise to his feet as well; his mind is already set on letting Kunikida deal the blow of this response to their client and on what he can do to occupy his afternoon in the current lack of pressing matters.
But Ango doesn't move.
When Dazai throws him another annoyed glance, he says, "There is a way," in such a low voice that Dazai has to strain to hear it.
"There is?"
Ango broods in silence for a moment. His eyes roam over Dazai's face thoughtfully, his fingers toy with the edge of the pocket where he probably keeps his phone; then his shoulders sag, and he says, "Follow me."
Dazai doesn't hesitate.
He doesn't need to, but he texts Atsushi quickly to let him know he's gone. Atsushi is so bad at using phones that he probably won't notice for hours anyway, so it's as if he hasn't told anyone at all. Dazai rather likes the thrill of following someone he hates into the unknown with no warning.
Kunikida will notice, but will be too busy to care for a few hours anyway even if he disappears.
Once they're out of the building, Ango walks away with a look that orders Dazai to stay put and takes his phone out of his pocket. Dazai feels strongly enough about being ordered around by Ango that he almost steps close to listen in anyway, but refrains; it's more interesting to try to guess who Ango might be calling. His face is pinched, his voice too low to discern any specific tone. He doesn't look comfortable, but he doesn't look scared either.
Dazai quits his quiet compliance when Ango cuts the call and gestures to his car. "No thanks," he says. "Wherever we're going, we're either walking or taking the train."
Ango eyes him tiredly. "I'm not going to cause a car accident to kill you. Not my style," he adds, bitter.
"Forgive me if I'd rather not give you the opportunity," Dazai murmurs.
"Dazai-kun, I wouldn't—"
"Don't finish that sentence, Ango."
Ango shuts his mouth. The sound of his teeth knocking together isn't as satisfying as Dazai thought it would be.
"Fine," Ango says, and Dazai wonders how much longer he can push this man before he snaps.
Ango tells him that he needs to fetch something at the offices he occupies when he's in Yokohama. "I'd offer to drive you to the meeting point, but since you don't want to, I'll let you go alone," he declares. "I need to drive back to Tokyo."
"Meeting point?"
"Someone from the port mafia owes me a debt. They agreed to retrieve the data for me." Ango takes a slip of paper and a pen out of some hidden pocket in his jacket and scribbles an address down quickly. "Here. They should be there in an hour, so don't be late."
"How do I know this isn't a trap?" Dazai asks, mouth twitching. He doesn't take the paper.
Ango throws him a look so heavy with irritation that he can't help but smile.
Of course, Ango ends up coming with him. They stop by the department's offices, and Ango spends a cigarette's lifespan upstairs while Dazai waits at the bottom, leaning silently against a wall. He comes back down with a thin file caught under his elbow and without his tie.
They walk tensely in the warm spring sun. Dazai feels a tad regretful that Ango doesn't seem to have allergies himself, but it stands to reason that someone who once played three gifted agencies at once would have a solid constitution. The trees lining the sidewalks have bloomed pink and yellow; the stroll would be almost peaceful if it were anyone but Ango walking by his side. Dazai watches the shifting patterns of shadows on the ground and doesn't say a word.
He doesn't care much what sort of debt a low-ranker of the mafia owes to the special ability department's advisor. He doesn't care much about Ango in general. That weakness died with Odasaku's last breath. But it's his job, and the situation is curious enough that it staves off the boredom.
The meeting point, as it turns out, is by the docks, nearer to the beach than the port itself. It's just outside of mafia territory but Dazai tenses anyway; in these parts of town there's always someone watching.
Dazai is in the process of wondering what sort of idiot set a meeting between mafia and ministry here—what sort of a fool Ango is for accepting—when he hears, "Sakaguchi."
They both breathe in at the same time, Chuuya coming out from behind a shipping container's shadow and Dazai stuck in his tracks watching him with no time to school his face into something less telling.
They don't stay like this—frozen in place staring at each other—for long. Chuuya's fury turns to Ango, and no one could've stopped the way he throws himself at the man, grabs his collar and shoves him against the ridged side of the container. The thing bends under the weight that Chuuya has given his motion.
Ango cries out from the shock but doesn't have time to speak—Chuuya leans into him and says, "You told him?"
"I didn't," Ango replies between his teeth. His glasses are askew, his forehead shiny with sweat. "Nakahara—"
Chuuya drops him, looking stung. It's a miracle Ango stays standing at all, but he manages, under Dazai's surprised staring. The file he was holding is on the floor. He bends down to pick it up.
Chuuya has his back to Dazai now, so Dazai walks to Ango's side to see him properly. His coat is on his shoulders but he's made without the extra layers today; all he's wearing under is a white shirt, no waistcoat or jacket.
His face is red, for some reason.
"Chuuya," Dazai greets.
He barely gets a glance in answer. Ango holds the file out and Chuuya snatches it from his fingers without a word, and when he makes to give the USB drive he's holding to the man, Ango shakes his head, looking toward Dazai.
"Is that the data?" Dazai asks lightly.
Chuuya's glove makes a small leathery sound when he tightens his grip on the drive. "It's what Spectacles told me to get him."
He hands it over, however reluctantly. Dazai takes it from him and doesn't allow himself to think about the way Chuuya's fingers shudder at his touch.
"Well," Ango says. They both turn to look at him. "Now that this is settled, I'll take my leave."
He doesn't wait for an answer and doesn't offer for Dazai to follow him. Dazai can't pay too much attention to Ango's retreating back when Chuuya is standing right next to him, anyway.
He slips the drive into his pocket. Looks sideways at Chuuya. Finds that no, his appearance hasn't become less striking in the weeks since their last meeting. Dazai knows that Chuuya cuts the most impressive silhouette at night, when the glow of his power rushes over his skin and makes him look less human; but even in tranquil daylight, even standing between rows of rusted ship parts, Chuuya catches the eye. A shiny thing for a magpie's nest.
So of course, Dazai says, "I almost didn't see you coming, shorty."
"That's because you've become dull and mindless," Chuuya replies instantly. He makes a hissing sound then, too angry to be a sigh. "Whatever."
Dazai realizes, when Chuuya turns around to leave, that he doesn't want him to.
"Why did you owe Ango a debt?" he asks.
It seems to be the right thing to say, because Chuuya stops, and his foot digs deep into concrete. "None of your business."
Dazai's head is rushing. Chuuya's words and actions since they've met again run through his mind in loops, in sequences, broken down to every breath and every movement, every standstill and wordless agreement. "Isn't it?" he presses. Chuuya is tense as he looks over his shoulder, blue eyes prudent and embarrassed.
This is definitely the most interesting thing Dazai's seen all day. Possibly all week. And he spent the night pouring over Yosano's research notes.
"You don't owe debts," he muses aloud. "You've always avoided owing anything to anyone like the plague. Everyone owes you, Chuuya, not the other way around."
"Why do you even care?" Chuuya growls, annoyed now. "So I owed this guy one. Big deal. We're even now."
"But you didn't want me to know about it."
"I didn't want anyone to know about it."
Dazai smiles. "No," he says, stepping forward. Chuuya turns toward him fully, tense as a bow; his collar is open and Dazai can see the press of tendons under his skin, at the crook of his neck. "You didn't want me, specifically, to know about it."
Chuuya wouldn't have reacted so violently if it didn't have anything to do with Dazai. Dazai's always been the exception to all of Chuuya's careful control; the screw that finds its way through skin and bone and twists.
He's level with Chuuya now. Chuuya is looking up at him with a frown, angry in a usual, comforting way, but his face is still flushed. His silence too careful.
"What did you do?" Dazai asks.
"Why do you care?" Chuuya snaps back. He still looks flustered.
Dazai huffs, amused. "It obviously has something to do with me. Come on, Chuuya, just spill. I'll figure it out eventually."
He expects Chuuya to relent, then, because Chuuya always does—always did. Dazai asks, Chuuya refuses. Dazai asks again, Chuuya accepts.
This is how it goes.
Chuuya's lips thin into a smile, and he says: "Figure it out, then."
He steps backward, just enough so he can turn around. Dazai hadn't realized how close they were. Chuuya's coat brushes against his torso when Chuuya hoists it up his shoulder, and for a second his hair threatens to do the same with Dazai face; Dazai holds his breath as if that'll prevent him from feeling how soft it is anyway.
No one caught you, right? Chuuya's voice had said. Surprisingly hesitant and hopeful.
"Did you help me?" Dazai doesn't understand the words even as they come out of his mouth, but they must be right, because Chuuya falters just long enough for Dazai to grab him by the wrist and pull. Chuuya is too graceful to stumble, but the step he takes not to fall into Dazai's body is still messy.
He tugs at Dazai's grip, clenches his teeth. "Fuck off," is his answer.
"Chuuya." There's no helping the confusion spreading through Dazai. "What did you do?"
"I said figure it out—"
"I just did." Dazai squeezes Chuuya's wrist to be contradictory; he's not surprised to find the end of Chuuya's knife digging menacingly into the fabric of his waistcoat in return, right above his heart. Chuuya isn't meeting his eyes anymore but Dazai can't find satisfaction in this alone. "Tell me what you did."
"Feeling off-balance?" Chuuya asks mildly. Dazai gives a short tug on his arm, as if trying to push Chuuya closer and make the knife cut into him—and Chuuya curses, stepping back, lowering the knife immediately.
He shouldn't find it endearing. As it is there's warmth in his chest in spite of the confusion, because this is familiar. This is usual. Chuuya refuses to hurt him outside of agreed-upon combat, no matter that Dazai has hurt him that way before. Dazai lets go of Chuuya's wrist and lets his finger hook into the hem his glove for a second, knuckles pressing into warm skin, a gesture from his childhood that he doesn't have to think to make.
There's a lapse of still time before Chuuya shakes him off.
The silence that follows is less charged with energy. Dazai breaks it by saying, "You had Ango help me."
Chuuya glares at him.
Dazai's heart is beating painfully against his ribs. "When?"
"Don't act like you don't fucking know," Chuuya snaps.
Chuuya's never been ashamed of helping Dazai, which means that whatever he did clashes against other loyalties of his. And there's only been one time in Dazai's life when he's been in need of protection.
Maybe Ango was right to call him naïve, he thinks shakily.
"You're the reason I was never found," he says. "You had Ango stop the government from tracking me."
Dazai had traveled the country without stopping for two years after leaving. Sleeping in hotels or out in the streets, using fake papers and a fake name, working small jobs that only paid in cash. Dyeing his hair a different color every month.
He had known that it wouldn't be enough at the time; he had expected to be busted out of all the hiding places he took within days; but weeks went by, and months, and years; when he came back to Yokohama, no welcoming wall of bullets waited for him.
Dazai had put it up to luck or incompetence at the time.
There's a smugness to Chuuya's face now that wasn't there before. Dazai realizes belatedly that it's because his mouth is open on his own surprise, and he shuts it too quickly. "Ango wouldn't have accepted," he says, and he knows he sounds accusing.
Chuuya shrugs. "Believe what you want, Dazai."
"He wouldn't have wasted a debt from you on something as stupid as getting me data from a client," he continues. "This doesn't make any sense."
"Sakaguchi never did make any sense to you, did he?" Chuuya mutters.
Dazai steps forward; Chuuya steps back. They look at each other in silence, both of them knowing that in a contest of physical strength, Dazai can't do anything to stop Chuuya from leaving or knocking him out and abandoning him here to be found and devoured.
"You're so sentimental," he says softly. Chuuya's face colors on anger, so Dazai pushes. "You talk big, but it turns out even you can become a traitor, Chuuya."
"Don't fucking call me that." Chuuya's voice is lower and rougher than Dazai's ever heard it, hot with disgust and shame. "I'm no traitor."
"What do you call helping a traitor escape then?"
"I call it helping a friend."
Dazai's breathing stills.
Chuuya doesn't look angry so much as pitying. "I knew Sakaguchi would agree to help because he fucking cares about you." He rubs a hand over his face and breathes, hard, into his own fingers. When he opens his eyes again, they're more tired than Dazai has ever seen them. "God knows why."
Dazai doesn't know how to reply to that.
The shadow is stark here because the day is so light outside; in it Chuuya's hair looks a dark blond and his eyes a deeper blue, and Dazai knows, suddenly, that he's been fighting himself over nothing for a long time.
Chuuya doesn't step away when he approaches this time. His gaze is weighed by suspicion but his stance is relaxed and open. Dazai puts a hand on Chuuya's shoulder, and Chuuya tenses, but doesn't move.
"I thought you were angry that I left," he says.
"Of course I was," Chuuya replies. "Mister big fucking shot executive, calling yourself my partner and running away when things get a little tough." His words aren't as harsh as they could be, and they both know it, but Dazai lets the lie slip and tightens his grip over cloth, muscle, bone.
Chuuya is so warm.
"It was a stupid decision," Chuuya mutters, looking somewhere under Dazai's chin.
"I would've died if I'd stayed," Dazai says. Sincere.
"I know. That's why I did what I did, asshole."
He has to laugh at that. "So you thought I was stupid, and you've always wanted me dead, and you helped me anyway. What does that say about you?"
"Can't you just be grateful and shut up," Chuuya groans, swatting Dazai's hand off his shoulder to step back. "It was a stupid plan, but it was the first thing I'd seen you do for yourself, and I wasn't gonna let anyone fuck with that."
The warmth in Dazai's chest feels tight now, pressurized almost to the point of bursting. He doesn't know if it'll do so through vile words or honest tears, so he doesn't answer.
It's easier to look at Chuuya's mouth and then his eyes and say, "Shall I give you a kiss as thanks?"
Chuuya takes just a second too long to reply for the thought to have been swiftly dismissed, but his voice is even. "Just get the fuck out of here, Dazai."
Dazai bows dramatically, as much to annoy Chuuya as to hide his own grin. Chuuya is walking up the side of a pile of containers when he straightens up, body facing the sky.
"Chuuya," Dazai calls.
Chuuya turns his head toward the ground. "Mmh?"
"Thank you."
He means it more sincerely than he's ever meant anything.
Chuuya's hair is in his face, floating a little from the gravity shifts; the low light of the dock masks the imprint of fatigue on his skin and makes him look like a child, the grin he gives Dazai that of a twelve-year-old boy rather than a twenty-two-year-old mafioso. His features change from handsome to young, his hands from leather-bound to covered in mud.
Chuuya has never hesitated to call Dazai a friend in a privacy of his own mind.
"You'd have done the same for me," he says, and the blade of his existence leaves Dazai's ribs at last.
The stab wound starts to scab.

Since today is my b'day, I was wondering, do you have hcs on how Dazai & Chuuya would celebrate their birthdays? With or without a s/o? :3c Thank you so much and have a wonderful day ahead~ And I absolutely love your writing~
HAPPY BIRTHDAY OR LATE BIRTHDAY I SAW THIS LAST NIGHT BUT IDK WHAT YOUR TIME ZONE IS ILY DOLL (I know I’ve written for Dazai’s birthday before but I don’t see it on this blog so here’s a fresh crop of hcs)[Dazai –no s/o]•Just another day to him, and he doesn’t make much of a fuss about it unless it’sto guilt people into doing his work for him (like Atsushi). He doesn’t mentionit until he actual day because he’d rather make people feel like crap for notknowing—even Kunikida feels a bit of guilt—and Dazai wants nothing more to be alazy couch potato for the rest of the day.•Dazai’s birthdays weren’t exactly a secret in the Port Mafia, but rarely did hedo much other than go to Lupin’s and celebrate with Odasaku and Ango. There’s atwinge of hurt in his heart when he thinks of the last birthdays he spent withhis friends. Because of this his birthdays are now a bittersweet day and he’drather just nap it off than celebrate. But, if the ADA goes out of their way tobuy him a birthday cake after he’s done wailing about how everyone forgot hegraciously accepts the attention in a traditional dramatic-Dazai fashion. [Dazai- with an s/o]-NSFWish•You’d think you were fucking santa clause with the list Dazai gives you themorning of his birthday. Regardless of what you have planned for him—breakfast inbed, morning shower sex, a loving shower of presents—Dazai beats you to thepunch and hands you a very detailed list of all the naughty things he’d like tohappen throughout the day. With a smirk a mile wide Dazai lightly kisses yournose and answers any protests with “but it’smy birthday!”. He uses this day to sneak in any naughty activity you’vebeen on the fence about that he’s been dying to try. Besides, how could youdeny a man such a thing on his birthday?—He says this as he’s whipping out thefirst skimpy outfit he wants you to wear during breakfast.•“Will you love me as I wither away intoold age? Oh I see a wrinkle! ____, don’t leave me just because I’m old!”Dazai whines things like this all day if you’re giving a smidge of attention tosomeone else, even if its work related. He’s in your ear pestering you abouthis decaying body until you’re completely immersed in whatever action he wantsfrom you. A kiss, a hug, an under the desk blow job—Dazai is king today and hewants you to see only him.•Outside of wanting to slip a quick fuck in or a steamy round of oral sex allover Yokohama, Dazai is pretty lax about any other birthday plans you’ve madefor him. While he’d prefer spending the majority of the day just with you he’snot about to turn his nose up if you’ve decided to throw him a big party. Aslong the food is delicious and he doesn’t have to pay for any beer he’s a happycamper with his arm around your waist and a piece of cake in his mouth.•After any festivities Dazai sweeps you up in his arms and announces its timefor the birthday boy to ‘unwrap hisfavorite present’. Getting you to blush in public is one of his favoritepast times, and he’s even more proud of himself if you’re glaring at him as hesets you down on the side walk outside. His shit eating grin fades as he grabsyour hand and asks if you want to take a walk with him around the city.•Without mentioning it he guides you to the place he took you on your firstdate. If you’re too full from the party he merely orders a few drinks and sitssnuggled in the booth just enjoying the conversation and your company. When theearly evening fades to twilight and he senses you’re running out of energy hepeppers kisses up your neck and asks if you want to end that night at hometangled in each other’s arms. •Once you’re both in the comfort of your own home Dazai is quick to strip you ofyour clothes and toss you in bed for round he-lost-count. This session, thoughjust as heated, is threaded in passionate kisses and touches. Dazai’s handsfind every dip and curve in your body and his mouth follows the trails hisfingertips leave on your skin. He makes it a point to cover every inch of skinwith his mouth, tagging a few places like your neck and hips with deep redmarks. Even though it’s his birthday he’d rather hear you screaming his namethroughout the night. [Chuuya – no s/o]•Chuuya celebrates his birthday with the people who feels are closest to him. Aprivate dinner with Kouyou and Hirotsu followed by a small celebration at thebar with nearly all the black lizard, and he gets absolutely shit faced. Notthat its much different than when he usually drinks, but he buys himself a veryexpensive bottle of wine that gets him wasted faster than usual. Hirotsu, asusual, carries Chuuya to Tachihara’s car and ensures he gets home safely.[Chuuya—with an s/o] - NSFWish•Chuuya lets you completely plan the entire day, he figures you know him betterthan anyone else so why interfere? He does however want a blow job to start theday and if you don’t offer on a whim he makes not-so-subtle hints and usesthose sapphire blue eyes of his to bait you down below his belt. Of coursebeing the gentleman Chuuya is he’s not going to let you go unloved, and hehappily returns the favor by dragging you up and sitting you on his face. •Unless Chuuya knows ahead of time you need the whole day he goes about his workas usual, however Kouyou makes sure he has the night off to celebrate. If you’replanning something big Kouyou is 100% in for helping you plan whatever you needand offers to distract Chuuya if you’re planning something elaborate. SinceChuuya would plan something elaborate for you, in turn he would love somethinga little over the top but not necessarily huge. Even if it’s just the people he’sclose to in the mafia Chuuya would be floored by any party you managed to holdwithout his knowledge.•Chuuya makes it a priority to have lunch with you even if its homemade bentoboxes in his office. Though he truly wants to spend time with you because heloves you he’s hiding a devious intent behind his passionate kisses and little nibbleson your throat. What fun is a birthday and a big fancy office if you can’tsneak in a quickie with your beloved? Chuuya slides his gloves off nonchalantlyand lets his hands to the talking. Before you know it your underwear is hangingoff the book shelf and Chuuya’s buried between your thighs bouncing you up anddown on his office chair. • Regardlessof the size of the party—or if its just a romantic date for two—Chuuya insistson you dancing with him. Preferably to slow songs performed beautifully bystringed instruments, but if the place you’ve chosen has a DJ over a quartetChuuya isn’t going to fuss. With the lights twinkling, delicious French wineflowing, and your warm skin on his Chuuya is absolutely in heaven. His smilenever falls from his face as he dips you, spins you, and twirls you arounduntil you’re smiling just as wide as he is. • Chuuya loves ending the perfect birthday with a nighttime drive through theedges of the city. His hand stays clasped with yours, tugging it upward toplant soft kisses on the back of your hand periodically as he drives beneaththe glittering stars. After a while he pulls the car into an empty parking lotnear the beach, yanks a quilt from his trunk, and spreads it on the beach witha few more blankets he keeps tucked away in case he wants to be spontaneouslyromantic—like tonight. He holds you close and watches the waves slide throughthe sand with the moon refracting off the navy blue water. He hums softly toyou and nestles you in his lap and between gentle kisses he thanks you forgiving him such an amazing birthday.
