Gothic fiction — like pornography, to which historically and formally it has often been very closely related — is characterised not by linear and rational narrative progression, but by circularity and repetition, in which probability and causality increasingly fall away.

China has led the world in promoting the recirculation of waste materials.
Objectives included reusing 72% of industrial solid waste by 2015 and raising resource productivity (economic output per unit resources used) by 15%. The plan laid out a three-pronged '10–100–1,000' strategy: 10 major programmes focusing on recycling industrial wastes, conversion of industrial parks, remanufacturing, urban mining, and the development of waste-collection and recycling systems; 100 demonstration cities such as Suzhou and Guangzhou; and 1,000 demonstration enterprises or industrial parks nationwide. In 2012, the NDRC and the finance ministry called for 50% of national industrial parks and 30% of provincial ones to complete circular-economy transformation initiatives by 2015, with an aim of achieving close to zero discharge of pollutants.

All establishments associated with my university no longer provide single use cups for to go products. You can either bring your own mug to be filled, or they will give you one of these for one euro fee.
You can bring it back and get one euro back/a clean one or you can keep it and use it everywhere. The cups are standardized so you don't have to return them at the same place where you got them.
Just a little step. But little steps are to be celebrated.

This is how the day begins…
with one eye open, watching morning creepthrough the blind, a peeping tomor sneak thief invading the bedroom. You are still a shadow hunchedunder the covers, a prisonerof the loudly ticking clockimitating the rhythm of heavy rock. TimTay: A Vietnamese Slow Fashion Brand through a "Zero-Waste" Spirit
Tumblr media
Launched in 2014 in Saigon, TimTay is a Vietnamese sustainable design brand inspired by local culture (Nhi 2022). The name, "Tim" (heart) and "Tay" (hand), tells the brand's story: that each design is crafted with passion and love. TimTay emphasizes timeless designs that are not limited by gender or age, prioritizing comfort and freedom of movement.
1. Natural Materials:
TimTay exclusively uses 100% natural fabric like linen, cotton, recycled yarn, and pure silk (TimTay 2024). This choice prioritizes environmental friendliness, minimizes skin irritation, and supports local suppliers, therefore reducing transportation emissions.
Tumblr media
2. Product Longevity:
TimTay places a high value on product quality and durability (TimTay 2024). Garments are constructed with strong materials and stitching to ensure longevity and everyday wearability. Besides, TimTay does not follow trends, therefore its products are not targeted towards a specific gender or age group (Lan 2021). Instead, they focus on liberating the body with comfortable and soft garments.
Tumblr media
For example, the brand's first collection, "Lụa 1," showcased their innovative approach to zero-waste cutting techniques, minimizing fabric waste to 0% (TimTay 2022). Lụa 01 is a versatile high-end fashion collection designed to be size-inclusive (freesize) and suitable for all body types. It aims to liberate women from restrictive clothing, offering a relaxed and comfortable feel. The collection features three types of silk: Habotai, Tussore, and Shantung, each representing a unique aspect of silk's beauty. The quality of these materials is assured by TimTay's reputable partner, Nhật Minh Silk, and Bảo Lộc (TimTay 2022). Through Bảo Lộc, TimTay aims to promote Vietnamese silk and provide customers with an authentic experience of this luxurious material.
Tumblr media
3. Sustainable Consumption:
TimTay educates customers through their products. This brand tells its stories behind each piece, expressing the brand's perspective through design, and helping customers understand the value of our products (Trang 2022). If consumers choose TimTay, it means they not only love the design but also the story behind it.
Tumblr media
To encourage sustainable consumption, TimTay offers free repair service so customers always have perfectly fitting garments (Hoang 2021). Even if a product is damaged, it can be sent back to TimTay for restoration, regardless of when it was used. Besides, this brand also has a public Facebook group called TimTay Exchange, where customers can swap TimTay clothes that no longer fit, extending the product's life cycle (Hoang 2021).
Tumblr media
In May 2024, TimTay celebrated its 10th anniversary with a pop-up store, exhibitions, and workshops focused on recycling leftover fabrics, promoting slow fashion, and protecting the environment. These initiatives further show TimTay's commitment to sustainability and responsible fashion practices.

4. Ethical Sourcing and Production with Circularity:
TimTay fully embraces circularity by reusing and recycling fabric scraps (Trang 2022). Most designs adhere to zero-waste principles to minimize textile waste. The brand prioritizes quality and durability, ensuring garments last for years. They also find creative ways to reuse designs from previous collections, modifying patterns to create fresh and innovative pieces . To avoid overproduction, each design is initially produced in limited quantities (5-10 pieces) to gauge customer demand before committing to larger production runs (Lan 2021). This approach ensures that each piece is valued and minimizes waste.
Tumblr media
TimTay values a fair and transparent working environment, from sourcing materials to ensuring fair labor practices. To be more specific, production plans are always scientifically organized to ensure that employees are never forced to work overtime (Hoang 2021). TimTay maintains a focused and efficient working environment to reduce pressure and foster creativity.

Dear God, did you have to send me news like that, today of all days? I know, I know we are The Chosen People, but once in awhile, can't you choose someone else?
