Games you can play instead of D&D
Pathfinder/Pathfinder 2e: Same concept as D&D but by a better company. You are an adventurer in a high fantasy setting. Character creation combines a race and class.
Mutants and Masterminds 3e: Action-focused superhero RPG, uses starting points to buy equipment and skills and build powers by combining effects. Character creation can take a bit to get used to but there are many sourcebooks with helpful examples to use, there are countless pre-built characters online, and a slew of official books containing just about every DC Comics character you can think of to play and interact with.
Vampire: the Masquerade: You are a vampire in the shadowy gothic underbelly of modern society, struggling against any number of threats, kindred or otherwise, while trying to keep the existence of vampires a secret and struggle against your own bestial nature. Will you retain your humanity? Or give in to the beast. High focus on roleplay and social intrigue.
Monster of the Week: A rules-light game based on the Powered By the Apocalypse system that recreates the experience of shows like Buffy, Supernatural, X-Files and Warehouse 13. You play as a Hunter investigationg supernatural mysteries and fighting monsters. Player characters are based on archetypes from this genre (Professional, Monstrous, Spell-Slinger etc) (this one's my favorite! :D)
Masks: A New Generation: Play as a young superhero finding their place in the world. The game creates a coming-of-age story as you grow and change in response to your actions and the people and events around you. Character creation reflects this by focusing on your characters personality, struggles and strengths while being more loose about your actual powers.
Girl by Moonlight: Magical Girls (boys, enbies etc) through a queer lense. You play a magical guardian grappling with destiny, love and the heartbreaking duality between who you are and who the world says you are. Split between four genres you can choose from-classic magical girls, dark magical girls, psychological conspiracy and... mecha. I guess. (I'm gonna be honest I haven't looked super deep into those last two yet). Characters are based on archetypes from magical girl stories, some with very obvious inspirations.
Scum and Villainy: Play as a roguish outlaw in a galactic society run by an oppressive force. You are the Han Solo of this story, smuggling and doing crimes and mercenary work aboard your own starship.
Killer Ratings: You and the other players are the insufferable cast of a cheap ghost-hunting show and have found yourselves in over your heads as you've wandered into an actual haunted location. Play as you explore the site and are most likely taken out one-by-one, returning as vengeful spirits to further terrorize your former cast-mates.

Note
I have not even watched AssClassroom and still ur watch Wednesday has me hooked! I know snippets and about the ending (unfortunately) from YouTube shorts and Tumblr but ahhhhh!!!!
No spoilers about the ending though don't worry.
I have been contemplating a question though...
If an Izuku who had ranaway from Chisaki's lair with Eri in tow had been in Ass Class... How would have things gone???
Like Izuku is 'Saving' embodiment. So usually i would see his presence as a natural counter to Koro sensei or really anyone he cares about actually dying. He kind of just...breathes life into those around them. But there would be no way Pre U.A Izuku would be able to make much difference to canon, not when he still is naive about much of how the world works. Wouldn't question things he doesn't understand but has been conditioned since he was born as to be normal. Doesn't realise yet that heroes can be wrong. That heroes are humans, and that villains are people too. So what if things were spiced up?
Pre U.A Izuku has a nasty habit of suppressing his hurt and anger when it comes to himself. Can't even think of fighting back and winning. And has been hurt so much. Has been failed and abandoned by everyone around him since he was four and failed to manifest a quirk.
And then there is Eri. Who has never known kindness, has always been tired. But still finds it in herself to help the boy who breathes but looks dead, who was brought here after her, but has carried a weight of grief years in the making.
And then something changes. The moon gets destroyed, everyone panics, Izuku possessed by some unholy force seizes his chance, takes eri and gets the fuck out of dodge.
No where is safe. Hassakai is hunting them for sports, and one too many missed calls with the gang members have convinced Izuku that they are on borrowed time. They can't go to Heroes or police, one too many bribes and gazes that look through them but not at them, and the hero commission with their child soldiers (Izuku knows. Chisaki likes to rant) has them scrambling.
Except. There is an octopus. And there is a reward. There is an opportunity. There is a threat.
Izuku has never been able to fight back when it comes to himself. Can't think of hurting someone, bringing them the pain he was put through. Has always been too kind.
But.
Izuku also has a little sister now. A sister who for some reason sees him as a hero. A sister who saved him. A sister who wants him, who cries out at night, not from what Chisaki did to her, but out of fear that her Zuku-nii would leave her.
Like her mother did. Like her father did.
And Izuku who doesn't remember his father's face, but remembers his kindness. His love. Remember the sting and betrayal of screaming for him, not a hero but DAD. Understands.
Izuku doesn't like hurting others. Doesn't understand those who can kill others and laugh and live with themselves. But looking at the sleeping face of his baby sister cradled against him. He knows bone deep and heart deep that he is willing to cross lines he never would have imagined for her sake.
That he is willing to play the long con and sully his own dreams if it means his sister can be safe. If it means his sister can live. If it means he can be selfish enough to stay with the only family he has left.
His rage always suppressed comes surging forward like a tide. Filling him until he is nothing but a puppet dancing along to the strings of his grief, rage and hurt. Desperation incarnated in his endeavour to not lose anymore family, to keep his sister safe, to never be hurt again, to crush and incinerate those who dare to look down on him and hurt them, to watch people squirm and writhe and gasp under his blank gaze. He who no longer wants to be a hero, he who is dreamless, he who desires and needs control in his life. He who unknowingly resembles his father. He who is the child of the devil.
It's better than being a dekunobu with no limbs.
So now he is heading off to 3E, hiding in plain danger, a place where no one would expect him to be. He is going to cash in favors, make deals, learn... assassination.
And then after the octopus is dead, he is going to come for Chisaki.
Except. Things start to go awry.
Except Koro sensei cares.
Except Koro sensei learns, almost too late that there is a threat bigger than himself lurking around the edges, watching and waiting in amusement as his blood walks the same path as him.
OH Oh this is too good and I want to read it

I need to preface that I'm from a place in the world where classes aren't divided like this so I apologize if I'm asking a dumb question, but what does it mean on the NRC PE uniforms when it says "LETTERNUMBER"? Jade and Riddle have 2D, Lilia and Trey have 3E, and obviously there are a bunch more. Is that how they're divided in PE when they do activities or something or how they take attendance? One of my friends told me that these classifications go beyond PE, but I have no idea.
The tags on each boy’s PE uniform indicates their year, class, and seat (in that order!). This is true for ALL of the characters.
Let’s go through a quick example using Jade and Riddle:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jade’s number is NRC 2-E 13, and Riddle’s is NRC 2-E 26 (NOT “2D” as the Anon mistakenly said). The “2” indicates that they are both second year students, and “E” is their homeroom. (The other second years have different letters because they do not share a homeroom with Jade and Riddle.)
13 and 26 are where they sit in class 3-E. This is because in a traditional Japanese classroom, seats are numbered 1 through the total number of students alphabetically by last name. Leech comes before Rosehearts, so it makes sense that Jade has a much lower number than Riddle does.
All of this information is also reflected in their official profiles:

4e: Having A (Weapon) Type
Surely I’ve written about this already.
The 4e weapon system is one of its strongest points and it’s strength is directly linked to the ongoing attempt to make ‘person who uses a weapon’ as someone who can do cool or good things and not just being there to hold the wizard’s bags. The fundamental design of melee weapon-wielding characters’ powers is that the powers tend towards a generic set of effects, doing damage, pushing people around, pulling them, repositioning you – all that kinda jazz. But then, through feats, the powers that checked for weapons would be able to check the weapon you were using and add on special effects.
What this meant is that the weapon system of 4e is one of the most interesting I’ve seen in D&D where weapon choice is not a simple matter of mathematical superiorities. Back in 3e and 2e D&D there were just weapons that were the best in show. 2e went a step further than 3e did by making it so that some classes were simply not allowed to use the best weapons and this was a point of balance for them, which is how you know that the 2e wizard was so weak, since it only got to use the longsword when it was a bladesinger.
That’s a joke, and the only people who are going to get it are older than me.
4e weapons had basically four things that could be used to distinguish one weapon from any another:
A weapon category. All the hammers were listed as hammers. All the axes were axes. All the spears are spears. This sounds simple, but don’t worry about it for now.
A proficiency bonus. This represents the bonus you get to attacks made with this weapon if you’re trained in how to use it. This makes weapons beneficial to use if you’re trained in them and also represents the level of effect you can get out of being an expert in them.
Damage dice! This represents the scale of damage the weapon can do – multiple smaller dice being more even and capable of doing reliable damage, and single larger dice having more variance between high and low numbers.
Keywords. These are the key spice to this whole soupy mess, which means that suddenly you have a lot of standardised ways to make weapon groups relate to one another.
The keywords that a weapon can have isn’t even that long:
Brutal (reroll low numbers, sick as hell, used by the coolest and hottest heroes)
Defensive (gives you a defense bonus, good for people with shield envy)
Heavy Thrown (a huckable item you can use with strength)
High Crit (when you crit, you really crit)
Light Thrown (a huckable item you can use with dexterity)
Load Free (something to do with crossbows, who cares)
Load Minor (oh no more crossbow stuff)
Off-hand (ranger stuff)
Small (it’s small)
Stout (it’s not small)
Versatile (it can be small)
Every one of these factors can be fine tuned and there are trends within a category. For example, most light blades, in the vein of swords (you know, sword, smaller sword, bigger sword, much bigger sword, much smaller sword) tend to have no keywords that change their damage output, and instead their keywords relate to being usable and flexible. To compensate for this, they have the highest proficiency bonus (typically) for their damage dice, and swing at +3.
But that’s swords, that’s the cisgender white boy who listens to podcasts of the weapon sets. Sure, that’s the one that somehow mathematically winds up on top but that’s just because of fundamental biases from the people who designed the system. And in the context of the weapon system of 4e D&D, there are things you want to be able to do that aren’t necessarily damage (and hush up, CharOp board veterans since there are actually better things than dead and shaving fractions of turns only matters when dealing with spherical goblins in a vacuum).
Polearms and spears tend to be reach based! Axes and hammers tend to be heavy! Flails are chainy and daggers are stabby! But for most part, when you pick up one of these items, most of these traits aren’t immediately evident. Instead, you can invest in feats for proficiency with fancy weapons, or feats that support the way those weapons work. Every single weapon expertise feat, representing skill with that weapon, brings with it a special benefit that changes how those weapons relate to the powers that use weapons.
What this means is that when you play a character who uses weapons, what weapon you choose to use can be a part of how you relate to your powers. If your feats are in demand for something else, you can look at the support your weapon gives a small number of things. Just as an example, one of the most poached parts of the game in Character Optimisation is what I summarise as ‘Polearm Malarkey,’ which when fully developed, lets a defender of some variety interrupt an enemy attack, even against themselves sometimes, and push an enemy mid-attack a square away, then knock them prone – which can be their whole turn, since they were already in the middle of an attack. That’s really powerful but it needs a lot of feats. On the other hand, if you like being able to knock people prone and deprive them of actions and only have one feat or two to invest in it, you could try and wield a flail instead, and use Flail Expertise, then choose your powers in a way that let you impose slides on people. All that malarkey the defender with a fully mature polearm build can do, a level 1 Avenger or Swordmage can do with Flail Expertise…
But there’s not a lot more the flail expertise can do with that.
And that means there’s not just the matter of what a weapon can do but what it can grow into. Crucially though, and this is very important, at every step along the way these weapons are pretty good and offer rewards for what you’ve invested. It’s not like the 3e feat chain design where players take feats that suck pants in exchange for the promise of one day being able to Whirlwind Attack and then have nothing more for their build to look forward to.
Great system. I love when I see a coherent, sensible system like this built into a TTRPG from the baseline. Realism and historicity are not that important when the weapons designed in the game are game objects that players are meant to interact with! Make it so nobody has to make bad choices to get to better choices! You don’t get anything by putting traps in front of your players!
Check it out on PRESS.exe to see it with images and links!

Inspired by prompts by corvase
(TW: mentions of Hiromi’s child abuse, canon-type injuries/violence (kinda) (no big deep details, it’s a ramble after all), Karma’s arc is also mentioned (cliff thingy) and although its not a big big spotlight on it ig its a trigger???)
They’re in high school but it's not like they (class 3E) never talk to each other - none of them would dare not to. Not after everything they went through together. But things are getting busy, university entrance exams are approaching and they’re throwing their everything into this cause the whole point of a second knife (and a third, a fourth, a fifth…) is not to use it - it’s to push forwards with your absolute best until you break every single barrier in your way and you succeed. It’s to keep going forwards, keep striving up what seems like an endless uphill path cause you are the only one who can keep his memory and life for him.
Some of them are dating, the obvious couples got together at the beginning - some splitting because although the initial spark was there, they quickly realised it was built on the painfully sharp memory of their sensei and not any substantial feelings. Kanzaki actually asked Sugino out first, but unlike Chiba and Hayami nothing tangible actually came out of it. There was definitely something between Isogai and Maehara but neither of them had officially announced it however others could speculate whatever closer relationship they had needed to be shoved between the cracks of time between work, school and family.
Nagisa and Karma… well the less said about those two the better. In the beginning, there was the whole mess with Nagisa and Kayano - as much as Kayano wanted Nagisa, no one could tell if he was too dense, not interested or busy mooning over Karma. And then there was another entire thing going on between Gakushuu and Karma. People swore up and down the walls that they were dating: “Nothing going between the two- pshh, I swear they were practically sitting on top of each other- I don’t care that they were having a go at each other you can’t deny that there’s something!” And there were always rumours going about over the friendly ‘chat’ the boys had during their Kyoto trip and if Karma was really pulling one over them or not.
One could argue that, unlike Isogai and Maehara, neither of them had a part-time job, nor the pressures of their family disapproving of any single relationship they had. They just had university to worry about and although many couples had agreed to take a break or give each other more space during this time, with the foundation Koro-Sensei had given them and their previous experiences with working to the point of exhaustion despite their results, they weren’t as stressed nor lagging behind in their work. Nagisa’s mother… well their father had caught wind of the whole situation and in a surprising ownership of backbone, had driven from Nagoya back to Tokyo. The anime can say all they want but drugging your son because he won’t listen is not alright and the unnamed father at least can recognise this is blatant child abuse (even looking past the obvious physical, emotional and psychological abuse towards Nagisa).
Hiromi dodged a mental facility but is mandated with a restraining order and obligatory therapy sessions and Nagisa lives with his father now. And although it was a result of some incredibly stressful and terrifying events, Nagisa can’t deny that he does like the freedom his father’s guilt gives him.
Does he care about his appearance? Yes, he cut his hair the moment he got out of his mother's clutches and despite the crawling feeling over his skin every time he feels the ghostly swish of airy fabric over his thighs, he does appreciate the confidence and power a pair of well-fitted jeans, blouse and wig give him when he can turn around and talk back to whatever stuck-up egoistical person decided to hit on him for the night and not worry about the learnt fear a woman has or the fact that they would recognise him next time he walks by with his school friends.
Karma’s parents just don’t turn up ever. There’s the occasional postcard and good job sent via email in response to his latest report card but those are rarer than a successful purchase during the Sunday markets or a cool day during the hot humid days in August.
But there was a wedge driven between the two. Nagisa attends the Keisetsu Daigaku Fuzoku High School whilst Karma returns to his stomping ground at Kunugigaoka High School, having fun antagonising Gakushuu and the school staff because, honestly, who didn’t know about the massive highlighter-yellow sentient octopus up the hill.
But that doesn’t matter right now. All that matters is Nagisa was walking back at 3 am to Karma’s and not his dad’s place. He had been drinking with friends cause who doesn’t try it at high school - especially with his friend group at the high school with his newfound confidence in both his own skills (academically and physically - come on they all must excel at gym class now) and his appearance. He’s dressed in a pair of black jeans, the straight leg hanging over a pair of well-worn boots and a graphic t-shirt tucked into the waistband. It would be a well-put-together look for a casual get-together with friends to destress before the final month in the run-up to their exams but a bruise was starting to bloom on his upper shoulder and the back of his jeans was sticking to the back of his calf. His dad would freak at the sight of his injuries and that’s why he was walking the slightly longer trek to Karma’s despite the fact that the only form of communication they’d had in three weeks was over text.
He finally walks up the apartment stairs, sweat beading on his forehead at the exertion and pain he’s in. He considered calling the other boy at some point but ‘why make him wake up just to help him up a couple steps’ he thinks. He stands outside the door, the white paint matching every other apartment along the block debating his options before he lets his head fall forward, a loud and long triiiiiiiiing ring out from the doorbell.
He stays like that for a moment, having managed to shift away from the doorbell and onto the spyhole by the door - unconsciously hoping his blue hair gave him away.
On Karma’s side of things, he’s awake but close to drifting off to sleep. As much as their time in 3E had given them good study habits and he was confident enough in his own abilities to pass the upcoming exams, the amount of revision material his teacher provided that he had to slog through, otherwise prompting an unnecessary video call between his parents and teachers, was a stupidly large amount. And so he was here, a Saturday night, hoping to work early into the morning before passing out for 6 hours, waking for a quick dinner and then sleeping straight to a Monday morning he knew there was a high likelihood he’d skip anyway.
Well, he had let his eyes shut for another moment, enjoying the rocking motion and sweet bliss of nothingness sleep deprivation gave him before his incredibly unexpected doorbell went off.
Now Karma could be your average Joe and go “Now who could that be?” but this is Karma we’re talking about and he goes something more along the lines of “Ughhhsahdhsaarghhhh” cause not only does he have to actually stand up but he has to walk to the door, open it and engage in some random socialisation at…. 3 am????
Now does he spot Nagisa’s strikingly bright hair colour in the spy hole? No. Cause who goes and checks that first before actually opening the door? Instead, he opens the door and gets a tumbling Nagisa tripping over the doorframe into his hallway and himself too.
At first, he’s really really confused cause why is Nagisa here, why at this time, why did he not make the excellent decision to sleep earlier and why- Why Is There Blood Soaking His Jeans.
“Why is there blood soaking your jeans?” He says, admittedly softer (no less concerned) than his inside thoughts. He doesn't receive the answer he really wants but he does get a frustrated huff against his neck (‘So fucking warm- omg Akabane Karma no you should not be thinking about this’) and a “My jeans?” from the smaller boy now in his arms.
They somehow make it to his living space, Nagisa on his sofa (wow it’s used for more than the gaming nights he has with his friends) now half jean-less and Karma inspecting the wound. They haven’t talked yet, just the sound of clothes rustling and the occasional huff of pain as the disinfectant is applied and the injury dressed filling the empty presence of the early morning silence as the sky starts to shift in preparation for the 4 am dawn.
In the end, it’s one of Karma’s intrusive thoughts that managed to make its way to his voicebox and into the living room audio. He doesn’t realise it at first, but he does find out pretty quick that it probably wasn’t something for this moment and time when Nagisa looks up with a quick “What.”
It’s cold, and exactly like the jagged edge of a serrated knife and Karma starts to backpedal (which is pretty hard when you don’t actually know what you’ve said)
“I uh- take that back? Just an intrusive thought, didn’t mean to say it out loud-” And he realises he sounds absolutely delirious but that doesn’t matter all too much to Nagisa right now and here.
“You think… You think I can’t handle myself? Karma you know-”
‘Ah fuck’ Is all Karma could think. And yet, his mouth kept on running stupid stupid words.
“No you can’t! You can’t say that not when you’re on my couch with bloody tissues over in a pile and a bruise over your arm and shoulder.”
“And what gives you the right to lecture me about my choices and my skills and my abilities” cause damn Nagisa spent so long shackled to his own worries and anxieties eating away at him over Was He Good Enough, Would She Be Mad, What Do I Do, to stand being accused of this. “What about you, and how you came in with bruises and cuts, how you got sent down the ladder because you-” and now he’s pouring salt into old wounds and attacking it with a scrubbing brush now, “-because you basically Fucking Asked For It!” And he’s sitting up, one leg still in his jeans, the other he’s trying to keep still and relaxed ‘less the dressing loses its hold and his wound reopens.
“And if I’m a hypocrite, then what about you?” The logical side of Karma’s brain starts to just Go and the more emotional side (maybe its cause wow the guy I’ve been pining over for years is injured and I don’t like that, or maybe it's just can’t he just know that I’m concerned - but there’s zero worry for his own choices Nagisa is accusing him of (he’s accepted his own consequences a long time ago)) takes over.
“You just keep coming back to these things, you’re worse- it’s been going on for Years.” The azure-headed gestures to his own injuries, “It’s not just that- it’s…”
“It’s what?”
“The cliff.”
And the two words start Karma spiralling. But he doesn’t spiral in silence, Karma just keeps talking and talking and the emotions keep building up underneath the rushing memories of falling and darkness and the crashing relief of Alive.
“No fuck you, I know about the bomb - you stupid martyr - I know you are capable; I saw you take down Takaoka fucking twice now but it doesn’t take away from the fact that you were ready to fight the Reaper just for an opening for us to attack” His voice just kept getting louder and louder- he hopes the neighbours aren’t awake.
“Why do you care about me? Why not care about yourself just a bit more?”
“Because I do” and that’s true, he just does. It’s a fact of life - he doesn't know why-
“But why?!”
“Because I love you!” Oh.
Oh.
They return to the silence they had held before sans the sounds of movement. The words registered in Nagisa’s brain before they did in Karma’s but both of them left the confession hanging in the air.
“...you should probably change into something else.” Karma got out, mind making the decision to escape this instead of confronting the words.
“I- yes. I’ll take a shower first.” Nagisa leaves the room, knowing his way around Karma’s apartment, one leg still in his jeans.
Unbeknownst to Karma, currently still standing in his living room, Nagisa practically crumbles; clinging to the wall as he makes his way towards Karma’s bathroom. His mind is reeling, thoughts going absolutely crazy as he peels off his other jeans leg and t-shirt and starts up the shower. The water jets out cold, the hum of the generator leading into a warm spray as he lathers up soap - avoiding his calf as much as he can - before rinsing off and stealing a towel from Karma’s cupboard.
He wanders into Karma’s room, holding his towel up in some form of privacy despite their many onsen trips, and raids his closet and drawers; pulling on a soft pair of joggers that he either has to roll up or risk looking like a penguin and a well-worn t-shirt. Despite the warm summer weather, the apartment is cold and looking at Karma’s study materials on his desk tells Nagisa that he wasn’t asleep when he came ringing his doorbell.
Before he steps into the living room, Karma’s words finally hit him. He stands in front of the bedroom door, contemplating if he’s willing to bypass the etiquette drilled into his very nature and simply just fall asleep in Karma’s bed and deal with everything tomorrow. But no, it’s Nagisa we’re talking about and so he steps into the living room and tentatively asks:
“Do you… do you want to talk about it? Or should I just take the sofa and we can talk in the morning?”
And Karma is just standing there, in the same position as Nagisa left him in and now he’s worried “...Karma?”
The single word tinged with enough concern worry, sadness??? To get his attention and Karma just sits on the couch and Nagisa pads over to sit next to him.
“I just- If you just want to forget everything and stay friends then we can just sleep and wake up in the morning and continue and ignore this-”
Nagisa just nudges Karma and it shuts up his ramble. The boys just sit there for a bit longer, before Nagisa continues, “I don’t know if it’s love for me. But it does feel very natural for me just to flow into… Something closer”
And it isn’t love yet for Nagisa, and maybe not for Karma either because Nagisa still carries the hurt when Karma drifted that one school year and Karma carries the guilt of being scared. And yes, they’ve talked about this but it's still a significant part of their lives. They’ll work things out, they’ve already talked about it once and now the topic is less hard to breach but right now Karma will let Nagisa have the option of the sofa and the bed and Nagisa will shoot a “Well the bed’s big enough for two enough, might as well make the most of your parent’s money” and they do sleep in the same bed, backs together but hearts going slightly faster before their breathing evens out.
They don’t sleep long enough to complete Karma’s plans to wake up just for dinner but Nagisa does start lunch which in turn wakes Karma. And they eat a simple lunch of rice, veg and meat then spend time looking over Karma’s revision sheets cause even though Nagisa plans to go into education in university, he’ll never turn down free knowledge cause that’s not what Koro-Sensei would have done nor wanted.
And maybe Karma struggles writing a text a few weeks later with the simple “Cafe for Lunch - Sun?” On a Saturday evening but Nagisa beats him to it with a “Sunday - Lunch/dinner???” And it's a horrid affair cause both of them are menaces to society when paired together but they leave the premise laughing and go back to Karma’s for dinner and when Nagisa leaves to head back home Karma leans against the doorway and asks “After exams, wanna go camping?”
And Nagisa knows deep down that this will all work out.

Random prompt Generator pt.2! ~Karma Akabane edition~
Tumblr media
Karma x Secret Agent reader! (reader is also in highschool)
You were sent by the government on a mission. All you had to do was pose as one of class 3E's students and collect information on Korosensei, and any info on how to kill him. That part was difficult enough, Trying to hide right under the noses of a bunch of trainee assassins, and REAL assassins? How the hell were you going to pull this off? It ended up working out since there was an influx of new students joining the class anyway. An AI, some other octopus kid, and a certain mysterious redhead coming from suspension...
Despite your classmate's attempts to make friends with you, you kept them all at a distance, you only got close enough to not seem suspicious, but you had one goal. Get intell, and deliver it to headquarters.
However, your lack of socializing caught a certain sadist's eye...
"You aren't the talkative type, are you? Or maybe you're just faking it. Do you like the attention you get from pretending to be a loner?" Karma sighed, leaning on your desk with a degrading stare. 'what's this kid's deal? He can't know anything, we've never spoken and he just got here.' You did have a second of doubt though. What if he was onto you? Your worries were erased when the redhead punched you in the shoulder playfully.
"Nah, you seem too stupid to try and pull that type of shit. Especially if you're here." He scoffed laughing and walking away.
You had a job to do, you didn't need to bring your feelings into this... But that didn't mean you weren't tempted too. It took everything in you to not follow after the boy, and hurl insults at him, but you didn't need to blow your cover. Nothing good would come out of blowing up at him.
At first, you thought this was obvious, but for the next few weeks, he made you question everything you were thinking about before. He was enjoying trying to make a fool out of you and giving you a hard time. But there wasn't anything you could do about it, you didn't need to blow your cover. So you kept trying to collect information. But he plagued your mind, eventually, you found yourself taking notes on Karma instead of the octopus, analyzing him and thinking of ways to piss him off. Giggling to yourself when you flustered him with your quick-witted comebacks, and packing extra of your lunch because you knew he was going to take some.
Eventually, you started to enjoy school and even began to open up to the people around you more and more, and Karma. Just the thought of him made your face heat up a little. So when you were taken out of the program because they collected enough info, you felt...upset? You have felt upset before, but never in this amount, you always prided yourself on being analytical and level-headed. So when a certain redhead showed up at your door, let's just say you were a little more happy than you let on.
You had one job, and while you tried to remain professional, you can't help what the heart yearns for.

[crossover with ansatsu kyoushitsu (adult class 3e)]
Karasuma: Thank you, Ritsu.
Ritsu: Is it really necessary, to put him down?
Karasuma: He’s become too dangerous, Ritsu.
Ritsu: We know Beroba and Kekera gave the drivers to those terrorists right and sabotaged his wish.
Jelavic: He’s still become too dangerous.
Jelavic: I’m sorry Ritsu.
Karasuma: Of course if Ukiyo wants to save Sakurai, despite the atrocities he’s committed…
Jelavic: I wouldn’t go that far yet.
Jelavic: While he’s currently a mob boss equivalent.
Jelavic: He’s kept the gang riders in check.
Karasuma: That is true…
---
Ace: No, Tycoon’s not that low yet, just trust him.
Win: Oh, so the Ministry of Defense is now getting themselves involved.
Michinaga: Ministry of Defense?
Michinaga: Oi, Geats!
Ace: Companies such as the Kurama Zaibatsu has been giving the government hush money so that the DGP could continue its operations.
Win: And Na-Go’s father so happen to be the convenient scapegoat, hence he was the only one arrested.
Win: They’re going to send their assassination squad?
Michinaga: Assassination squad?
Karma: No, not just yet.
Karma: But they will soon.
Nagisa: Hello, Azuma-kun, how’s it been?
Michinaga: You! Hebiku!
Michinaga: I thought I crushed your ID core!
Nagisa: I’m not here as a Rider, I don’t think Ace-kun could bring back the ID core that I let you destroy.
Ace: So you were holding back while a contestant?
Nagisa: I was entered because the Ministry of Defense wanted information on the DGP.
Nagisa: Didn’t even write something for the wish.
Nagisa: And yes there were a lot of us that were entered into the DGP before.
Win: So they’re waiting for our god of creation to decide whether to kill Tycoon or not?
Ace: And I’m saying no.
Karma: Welp, Ritsu you heard the godly person on this planet.
Ritsu: I’m telling Karasuma-san!
----
Goon1: There she is, Head, she wants to see you.
Keiwa: Who are you? And What do you want?
Kekera: Oho, Sakurai Keiwa, a beautiful girl wants you and you’re treating her that way?
Jelavic: I want to talk to you oh handsome head.
Keiwa: Go away, I have no business with you.
Jelavic: Oh but I do.
Jelavic: *glares at Keiwa and brandishes her guns and fires at him.*
Keiwa: Henshin *transforms into Bujin Sword and cuts down all the bullets coming at him.*
Kekera: Oi, oi! Help out your head!
Keiwa: No need, I can handle this myself.
Keiwa: No need to get everyone else involved.
Jelavic: Should you really talk like that to the assassin assigned to kill you?
Kekera: An assassin! You’ve really gotten to the big leagues! Sakurai Keiwa!
Keiwa: I didn’t realize that the ministry of defense employed assassins.
Jelavic: Oh, how’d you know that I work for the ministry of defense.
Keiwa: Just a hunch.
Jelavic: You’re a lot smarter than people give you credit for.
Keiwa: Kekera, Beroba, if you want to make yourself useful, why don’t you turn away the people that are about to jump at me from above!
Jelavic: Abort the mission boys, it seems Ritsu’’s information is accurate.
*A lot of men jumped down from the second floor and went behind Jelavic.*
???: Well take those.
Multiple shadowed people stole Beroba’s and Kekera’s cards.
Beroba: Wha-
Kekera: How-
Jelavic: Good work girls.
???: It was our pleasure Bitch-sensei.
----fastforward: basically, Ritsu fires BBs at everyone and releases smoke at the same time, courtesy of Itona’s invention, while Nagisa stuns Keiwa before Isogai and Maehara grabbed Keiwa’s hands and ran somewhere where Beroba and Kekera aren’t around.----
Keiwa: *detransforms out of Bujin Sword*
Keiwa: You got me out of the hideout, what now?
Keiwa: if you really are sent to kill me, you would have already done so earlier.
Jelavic: Like I said smarter than given credit.
Nagisa: Can’t you be persuaded Sakurai-kun?
Keiwa: If I don’t do this, I lose my only chance at reviving my family
Isogai: Even at the cost of everyone else’s family?
Keiwa: I TRIED DOING THE RIGHT THING?! WHAT DID THAT GET ME?! IT KILLED MY SISTER!
Keiwa: I’m not going to be a door mat any longer.
Keiwa: They wanted me to fight for my desires so I’m doing it.
Maehara: But the sacrifices.
Keiwa: As long as my family gets to live, I don’t care what happens after.
-----
Karasuma: What now?
Ace: Give me one last shot.
Ace: I do hope that you won’t resort to killing him.
Ace: The punishment doesn’t fit the supposed crime that you’re pinning on him.
Karasuma: We’ll see.
----
Geats cast react. The cast are when after they yanked Keiwa’s out of Kekera’s hold, so yes Keiwa is among the reactors XD
I'm just smiling at the thought of this being the live action versions because Karma was played by Masaki Suda (aka our resident human search engine Philip)
Anyway, I kinda think everyone will be a bit speechless at the government going that far to pull Keiwa out... and definitely a little suspicious, because in canon the government was well aware of the DGP shenanigans and were actually in on the conspiracy in a similar fashion to Kurama Kousei- keeping their existence a secret from the public in return for wish(es). While getting Keiwa away from the influence of Kekera and co is a good thing, the government involvement stinks of a coverup from above. They're probably doing it only for their own benefit, i.e. to erase their own involvement in this sick game.
On the other hand, Keiwa being supposedly perceptive enough to read through the deception and knowing they were there to "rescue" him rather than eliminate him may surprise them. Though they'd be disappointed with his stubbornness.

He can choose what information he would like to gain, but will face trouble when it comes to certain details that the target is guarded about.
Tumblr media
Trivia
He was giving me beastman vibes and who am I to ignore? I think being a fox suits him really well. Sly and cunning.
He has many acquaintances, but only a few friends. He's considered more on the friendly side for an Octavinelle student for even admitting he has friends. Funny how that works.
Yes, Slyvan's nickname confused him at first (considering his vice dorm leader is literally named Jade). But the goat boy explained the nickname to him and he came to like the ring of it.
He isn't always in the mood for makeup, but manages to come to class everyday wearing perfect eyeshadow because his friend helps him with it.
He joined the science club to do more alchemy experiments.
He works as a waiter for the Mostro Lounge. He gets tips often.

Tumblr media
Trivia
I couldn't decide on her race at first because I could imagine her being a fae, mermaid, and human. So I let a randomizer decide for me. Why did I decide to make her a humpback whale mermaid? I just thought it suited her. Big but gentle, with a soothing song.
She doesn't like mirrors because her reflection unnerves her.
She joined the science club because she heard that they do a little bit of everything there.

Mortellement votre ;
- Lisa.

[give !!, i talk about an oc]
OH BOY OC TIME
gonna start things off with Crimson bc i'm love him
Tumblr media
The Crimson Mask is a No Moon Lunar Exalt, which is a string of words that means the moon gave him wereraptor powers and he chose to make himself a wizard specialist when he got his magic tattoos.
He also is completely blind, his eyes having been removed by a sorcerer and the holes healed and filled with opals by Luna when he was 16.
He's well-liked in the immediate area surrounding his territory (and he is of course the matriarch of his territory, his family loves moondad) due to decades of support during famine/plague and indirect protection, but the further out you get the more his old actions when he was at his lowest point come back to haunt his reputation--he caused a lot of problems for the ruling classes especially of the areas he passed through in his slow journey to where he currently lives, and "the masked Lunar" is a common figure in stories in the center-east when the writer needs a man-eating (sometimes literal) villain.
He's gentle and warm to his family and children, but cold to adult outsiders out of self-defense. He's been hurt, badly, by people who he was supposed to be able to trust, so he gets extremely paranoid when people he doesn't know are in his territory and it takes a very long time for him to relax around someone new even on their best behavior. He also basically doesn't trust other Exalts at all; his Dragon-blooded kids live in the Those Are My Kids exception, and knowing that he's part of a lunisolar bond makes him... tetchy. Not to say that he won't go and do Exalt ThingsTM, just that he knows he's not in a great space, mentally, and would rather stay home, running things and with all of his excitement coming from people desperate enough to ask for a surgeon in a roughly Bronze Age society.
"wait what" he is an exalt and a wizard with sighted familiars he can be a blind surgeon with an extremely high success rate if he wants to, i can even point to the charm on his 3e sheet that says he can do surgery without harming his patient
in conclusion: he

3e: Haste!
New Post has been published on PRESS.exe: 3e: Haste!
Oh boy you know what’s the most broken spell available in 3rd edition D&D well now you mention it it’s a contentious slot because there are a lot of spells that are really, really broken and third edition had a lot of them flying around but when it got broken you kind of had to start in the core rulebook and see the things that you’d wind up seeing used all the time and nothing was really ever going to wind up being as broken as this one it’s haste it’s haste look it’s obvious I’m talking about haste haste was so very goddamn broken in third edition D&D.
If you’ve played D&D 3rd edition and its family type of games, odds are really good you may remember haste as being ‘important’ but not that big a deal. Haste is, in 3.5, a really important, very valuable spell; it’s a great reason to have transmutation spells available to you, because at the level you get it (5, for wizards), it can represent a big upgrade in your damage output. 3.5 Haste is a group buff power, and everyone affected by it has a movement speed upgrade, but also when they make a full attack action, they get an additional attack at their highest bonus. At level 5, when you get it, that’s effectively doubling the attack output of every melee character. If they’re dual wielding, okay, you only increase it by 50% but that’s still a lot for a single spell.
Back in 3rd edition, though, Haste was a very different spell. True to the spirit of it, but also, not the same thing at all. See, back in 3rd edition, Hasten was a single-target buff that lasted for 1 round per caster level (so, 5 when you got it). When you used it, it granted you +4 to your armour class, because you were moving so fast, and a partial action. This action could be used after or before your normal action, and that meant that haste, on the turn you used it was -1 action for +1 action; so it was basically neutral…
… and then, every turn thereafter, you had two actions. Attack-wise, you could use your partial action to do partial charges. Meaning that, if you’ve got haste, the duration of that haste was basically the equivalent of pounce and a bonus attack. That’s a lot of extra damage on the person who casts Haste, which you know, isn’t that great. Of course, clerics could get that, with the Celerity Prestige Domain (but let’s not talk about prestige domains today, they are silly). But let’s ignore that for now, this isn’t the important thing. Using haste for melee is really strong, to the point where items that let you get single turns of haste are highly desireable magic items.
But.
But.
You can use that extra partial action to cast another spell.
And suddenly, this spell represents double spelling every turn. And at level 5, you may think ‘hey, that runs you out of spells really quick’ and that’s true, but if you’re spelling twice as fast as any one else, you’re going to end fights faster and knock out problems faster. It’s an immense level of power when you remember that spells are designed to have impact enough to shape a whole turn, and then haste lets you cast two.
This is, honestly, kind of where a whole generation of Game Opinion Havers learned the term ‘action economy.’ In a game system where everyone had n actions, someone having n+1 actions is a big disruption, and when that someone is also built so that their actions are themselves, worth more than n actions every turn, you start multiplying that effect. The result is that haste was, for the whopping two years of 3.0 D&D, the conventional wisdom was that the most powerful thing you could do was be a wizard, and use haste to pump out broken spells.
And that’s not wrong.
The funny thing was that this illusion that wizards got haste, so they could use haste best, so the most powerful class was the wizard, but there were also available, in expansions like Defenders of the Faith and oh no look we’re at the prestige domains, and suddenly clerics could get access to haste. Turns out that? Everything the cleric could do that was just as busted? Suddenly also the cleric had haste too!
I don’t think anyone went out of their way to make haste overpowered, by the way. I think haste was a name of a spell from 2nd edition that was very good, and so there was a deliberate push to make the version in 3rd edition also very good. That wasn’t playtested to push it to its edge in 3rd editions first release, and a powerful spell got through. What was amazing then, however, were all the people arguing after that about whether or not it was reasonable.
It may not surprise you to hear this, but it seems that haste, as 3e designed it, was not a reasonable spell. It was too powerful, but because it was in the game to start with, there was a mindset that no, it had to be okay, and anything else it displaced, that was intentional, and the problems were all directly built out around that displacement!
Because the assumption was that the game as product was released to us ‘fine.’ That the game’s base version needed official errata (and it kind of did, for everyone to have a equal platform to talk about the game design). But it did mean that for anyone who wanted to address problems with the game, there was always a fundamentally reactive political body that wanted to assert fixing these problems was always, always going to against the idea that the game we bought was fine.
Even when it had Haste in it!
Check it out on PRESS.exe to see it with images and links!
