Thinking about yogscast classpects from homestuck

Honeydew as a Heir of Blood. Inviting change through blood, blood being connections and leadership. "A Blood-bound can often be found on a sinking ship, forcing an endeavor forward with sheer stubborn force of will. No matter how bad things go, a Blood-bound can always count on friends and allies." If there is one thing Honeydew has, its friends, and leadership. Maybe not the most adept at it, but he can bring anyone together. And partnered up with xephos, can be a powerful force.

Lalna as Mage of Rage. Using is magical abilities and knowledge of rage to undo others, to drive people to conflict or to disperse arguments. Flaring up all sorts of issues between friends and enemies alike, but also knowing when to pull back. Truely an information gathering role, but extremely useful if you want to turn a Mob against their leader. Its purely self-beneficial, and gets him out of all sorts of scrapes by letting him know who he can trust, but also how to control his own rage and use it to win.

Xephos as the Prince of Space, Space is creation, propagation, transformation, literally size and velocity of objects. And a prince is a destroyer. Described as :"The Prince is literally simplified to one who destroys [aspect] or one who causes destruction through [aspect]" Causing destruction through space, the creation of new things that will ultimately destroy himself, others, and reality. But needing it to achieve his goals. Rather than the Classpect enabling growth for xephos, it enables his destructive tendencies. If he's not careful, he could doom their entire session

Barry as a Sylph of Time, why else is the tick speed so fast in Jaffa Factory 2? Sylphs are healers, either using their aspect or for their aspect. Since Barry would be able to manipulate time, he can speed it up or slow it down as they need. Need to stop time to save someones life? Barry's got you. Need to make a garden grow faster to feed a village? Barry can! Such an ability could be dangerous and extremely powerful, but its exactly what they need to make things go smoothly.

Pedguin as the Witch of Light. A witch manipulates their aspect, and in this case Light is knowledge, luck, fortune, awareness. Being able to manipulate that would be to change peoples knowledge or luck, use it to gain understanding of the world, or bring others to an understanding. He's got a whole wealth of information in front of him, he just needs to know how to uncover it.

Nanosounds is a Rogue of breath. Unlike the Theif, the Rogue uses their ability to give their aspect to others. Breath is freedom, wind, change, its something personal and deep, and she can use it to help others break free of patterns theyre trapped within. It gives her the freedom to explore and try new things, and best of all, fly.

Ravs as a Theif of Void. Not just as a fun solid snake reference, although it mostly is, Ravs would steal the void for himself. Void is mystery, obfuscation, darkness, its things unseen. Stealing the void for himself would let him hide unseen, and stealing it from others would reveal hidden evils to the world.

RT the Knight of Mind. Knights use their aspect to benefit others by any means. Protecting it and exploiting it to the best of their abilities. The mind is thoughts

Zoeya being Maid of Hope. A maid is descirbed as taking care of or tyding up their aspect, but i love the idea of the person being "made" of their aspect. Embodying it and what it stands for. Zoeya being the Maid of Hope lets her embody hope in any form. Its believing in yourself, your friendships, the world around you. Finding that one thing and using it to your advantage. She takes care of those around her and wants to support them, and that in turn makes her an incredibly powerful wielder of hope.

And Rythian as a Page of Heart. Pages are the one class with the most untapped potential. Rythian may be an accomplished and powerful wizard, but if theres one thing he might lack: its love for himself, and by extention others. Chronically lonely, but there is possibility to grow from here beyond what he is. Pages serve through and provide others with their aspect, and opening up to others, allowing himself to trust them, would grant them a powerful magical ally.

While ususual for these to appear in a normal session... Im making Ben a Lord of Life and Zylus a Muse of Doom

Lords and Muses are the most powerful classes in the game. But they require the biggest sacrifices.

To become a lord, you need to give everything. To be a Lord of Life, ben would have to know everything there is about life, work hard to be able to control it, and suffer greatly. Prehaps he has died before, and again, and again, knowing all the ways one can pass on, before he can understand how to bring life back again. He has complete control over others lives, but while he allows the ressurection of people through clones, he cannot interfere with them. By all means, ben can decide who lives and who dies in an instance, but such a choice comes with significant consequences.

To be a muse is to inspire, and Doom is fate and destruction. Inspiring others through their own fate, like an axe hanging over their heads. Zylus knows how things are going to go, but he is helpless to control it. All he can do is show people what their fate could be, a bleak view of the future. weather or not the others listen is up to them, and he needs to accept their decision. But, not all is lost, many find these glimpses into potential futures a great help, pointing them away from their destruction. Such a change bringing relief to Ben, who may be watching someone approach their death in great discomforting, knowing how it will feel when they die.

Overall, a pretty stacked session, with a high likelyness of falling to chaos unless they control one anothers vices.

to be fair i think the reasons why i believe quadrants r fake versus why i believe classpects r fake are pretty crucially different. like homestuck kind of goes out of its way to trick you into thinking classpects could be real whereas i genuinely dont think hussie ever expected anyone to read about moirallegience and think wow... so romantic.. i want that in my life ❤ LOL

I think a decade ago I saw someone (maybe elanorpam?) write Karkat as a mutant red blood sea dweller in an AU? And I think it would be perfect for Luo Binghe. He would have the physical fortitude of a sea dweller while still being ostracized for being a mutant. (Also if you want to share quadrant talk I am all ears :))

YES i don't know that au but that's kind of exactly what i was imagining, a Luo Binghe as a mutant sea dweller. exactly what you're saying about the physical fortitude and being ostracized, plus him basically being a fuchsia and not realizing would be a good analogue for him not knowing he's a heavenly demon

bingqiu is redrom! when they were at the peak of their Problems Era, there was probably some quadrant confusion, but by the end of the story they are firmly in redrom zone

liushen is flushed for lqg and pale for sqq. poor liu qingge, getting palezoned. i think sqq is probably clueless that lqg might have flushed feelings for him

bingliu are Toxic Kismeses, which makes them the perfect candidates for your textbook ashen relationship with sqq as their third. they would probably kill each other if not for their mutual affection for sqq, and his platonic meddling in their relationship makes sure their pitch flirting remains nonlethal. they still frequently beat the shit out of each other, but it's in a flirty/horny way instead of a "I want you legitimately dead" way

cumplane are a much more functional pitch relationship. they drive each other nuts but it's in a way that's more like enrichment for them. sometimes you need to bug the bestie until he kisses you to make you shut up. I think they could probably swing pale if the situation called for it. anyone who has followed me since my homestuck days should know I love pitchpale relationships, and I think that's what cumplane is. they're kind of solkat if you think about it. anyway,

moshang is definitely mutually redrom, but they were NOT on the same page about this. mbj smacking sqh around made sqh think he was pitch flirting. sqh trying to appease mbj made mbj think he was pale flirting. it was a whole mess. they probably quadrant smear on occasion, but they are usually redrom!

Everyone shut up I'm reading Harrow the Ninth and frothing at the mouth because Augustine just casually used the phrase "blood aspect" and I can feel Tamsyn Muir winking directly at me.

So Augustine uses the phrase "blood aspect" to describe the Heralds, and I have no idea what he means outside of the Homestuck context (because Harrow has no idea what he means, or it's a necromancy thing) of Blood Aspects so I'm thinking of it like, close bonds, and the Heralds are a hive mind bent on protecting the Resurrection Beast. It just makes sense ok.

But add that on top of: Harrow being inspired by Karkat, who is represented by the Cancer zodiac sign, the crab, and Harrow at this point in the book has covered herself in an "exoskeleton" of bone –Carcinization – and carrying the big sword around makes her an unwilling Knight, plagued by challenges beyond her...

And then in the comic, the drama comes from their society's expectation that you're ideally supposed to have one of each. "Filled quadrants." It's considered deviant to have 2 of one type, and pathetic to have no quadrants filled.

It's a replacement for the fact that Trolls don't have parents, or family. Just an animal that technically raises them, called a lusus, and ancestors that they closest resemble. They don't typically have brothers, or cousins, or what have you.

okay, so, a witch of blood!!! they're going to be hyperactive. they're going to be suuuper cheerful. they manipulate and change bonds, obligations, and so on. They're probably going to come off as an arrogant, busy person.

The prince of rage is a tough one. They're going to be nice and charming and charismatic. Why would you hate them! They destroy the negatives. They destroy the chaos. They destroy willpower. They destroy your will to fight. Think of a cult leader. Think of Kurloz Makara.

I think the Witch could possibly see past the friendly demeanor that the Prince has. They see past the Prince's calm persona and they see past what the others see. The witch can see how the Prince alters their bonds towards others. So I think there's a very strong foundation for them to hate each other here.

Quadrant is too variable. Anyone can love or hate or mediate or befriend anyone. If you suggest a couple I can tell you how they would interact and if I think that would be healthy for them.

Indeed I do!

This -pio and -mino could easily work together, but they could easily clash, aka the perfect setup for a mutual respect rivalry! A Prince of Light can be very stubborn, stuck in what they believe to be true and wanting to destroy false information. They could also be interested in obfuscating all information, wanting to cause confusion or hide something specific from others. This isn't necessarily out of malice, of course, it could be a way to protect others or themselves. This intention may not be obvious or may not matter to everyone, however.

The Maid of Doom, on the other hand, will be focused on creating destruction, rot, acceptance, rules, wisdom, etc. They may also be stubborn, following rules and conventions religiously and using this as the framework for their whole life. Of course, these rules may be ones the Maid created themselves, but that doesn't mean they aren't important to the Maid. They may enforce rules on others that may not always be appreciated.

If these two's principles don't align with each other, they can easily grate on each other. "Why are you destroying that when you could be destroying this with me?" "Because destroying that doesn't matter!" "Why you-"

The Maid may see the Prince as a reckless renegade, while the Prince could see the Maid as either nonsensical or stuck-up, depending on how they lean. However, they may respect each others' drive and sheer destructive power!

Of course, this is just my interpretation, and may not accurately reflect your specific situation.

Sorry that fanart made me think of jade blood Shen Qingqui, both in the context of Shen Jiu originally going against his blood caste by being absolutely terrible to children vs. Shen Yuan transmigrating into SQQ and exemplifying all the qualities a Jade blood should have, especially if maybe he was originally a higher blood caste in his old life. I would just love to see what kind of mental gymnastics Shen Yuan would have as a troll. Shen Qingqiu as a jadeblood is perfect. within the social hierarchy, it makes sense to me that Shen Jiu would be a midblood -- he's got a relatively high rank as SQQ so he couldn't be a lowblood, but he was a street urchin and a slave early in his life, so he can't be a highblood either. middle of the caste system is the best place for him. of course then there's the irony of him being TERRIBLE with children, and then Shen Yuan transmigrating into him and just exuding milf energy out his damn pores.
