#clay and sara
Note
Hi fellow OTH fan! If you had to pick, and assuming everyone involved were actually alive: Clay/Sara or Clay/Quinn. I just feel like based on the admittedly little we know, Sara was Clay's soulmate :)
Absolutely! Quinn's marriage was miserable but Clay was right, Sara would have been good friends with her too, she was amazing ❤️ Quinn deserves better than David but if Sara had lived it wouldn't be Clay, the coma episodes where Quinn wished for a way to be together in heaven broke me, even she knew Sara was his first love 🔥

"Do you think we're doing the right thing?"
Clay and Kimiko looked at Omi in confusion. He sat with a worried expression, looking over his shoulder, as if he expected someone to attack them in the air.
"With looking for a new Wu?" Clay asked carefully.
"I think Omi is worried about Raimundo." Kimiko closed the scroll and put it in her backpack. The boy nodded. "I'm not sure about the idea of leaving him with Jack, but his cousin is right. Raimundo had been through too much trauma, and if he woke up in the temple without them, he might have a panic attack again. Remember when he woke up the first time and refused to believe that we were all alive?"
"He was scared and nervous, like a cat with a long tail in a room full of rocking chairs." Clay adjusted his hat. "Spicer has proven to us more than once that he is as trustworthy if it is about Raimundo."
"You are right." Omi smiled broadly and supported his hips with his hands. "Jack Spicer has proven himself to be a worthy companion to our friend, and, if it weren't for his desire to do evil, he would also be a good Xiaolin Dragon!"
"Let's not jump that far into the future..." Kimiko grimaced in disgust.
Kimiko couldn't imagine Spicer as the Xiaolin Dragon at all. Of course, Omi once tried to convince him to abandon Heylin and join Xiaolin, but he was laughed at, although Jack suggested going out for ice cream every Sunday.

Lingthusiasm Episode 88: No such thing as the oldest language
It's easy to find claims that certain languages are old or even the oldest, but which one is actually true? Fortunately, there's an easy (though unsatisfying) answer: none of them! Like how humans are all descended from other humans, even though some of us may have longer or shorter family trees found in written records, all human languages are shaped by contact with other languages. We don't even know whether the oldest language(s) was/were spoken or signed, or even whether there was a singular common ancestor language or several.
In this episode, your hosts Gretchen McCulloch and Lauren Gawne get enthusiastic about what people mean when we talk about a language as being old. We talk about how classifying languages as old or classical is often a political or cultural decision, how the materials that are used to write a language influence whether it gets preserved (from clay to bark), and how people talk about creoles and signed languages in terms of oldness and newness. And finally, how a language doesn't need to be justified in terms of its age for whether it's interesting or worthy of respect.

Hi! 🫶 Wilmon + you made that?
“You made that?” Wille turns the little figurine he had picked up from the shelf in Sara’s living room around in his hands, careful not to damage it.
Simon groans, hiding his face in Wille’s shoulder and mumbling: “yeah, when I was like eight, because Sara really wanted a horse for her birthday and obviously that wasn’t an option, so I guess I decided a little clay toy horse was the next best thing, though clearly I was not meant to be an artist- looking back it feels a little stupid.”
“I don’t think it’s stupid- it’s really cute actually and if Sara kept it for this long, even after moving out, it must really mean a lot to her- what you did was really thoughtful” Wille tells him while burying his face into Simon’s curls. “Have I ever told you that you’re the best person in the world and that I love you?”
“You have”, Simon grins against his neck, “but I could stand to hear it more.” ---
Simon's first sentence really got long, but hey, I managed to keep it to 5 sentences! This might be the last one I do until the start of september, since I will be in Stockholm next week, meaning that I'll be busy exploring and also won't have my laptop to write on. :)
But once I'm back I'd love to write more, so if anyone wants to send in another sentence, I'll get to it then!!
