Inanimate Insanity Pokemon AU! (by Lycan)

In this AU, Cobbs is the current head of the Aether Foundation after Lusamine goes missing. He starts working on a project to make the "perfect fusion", resulting in the Mephones.

More AU stuff under the cut!

The events of Infinite Fusion are canon and it takes place in Alola. The floor is a lesser island far off the coast of Poni Island.

In this specific AU there's a distinction between Pokemon, Pokepeople and Humans. Pokepeople are sapient like humans but are pokemon.

The only 'true' pokemon are Baxter and Clover's butterflies. A Dwebble and various butterfly pokemon respectively.

Most of the Mephones are Eevee fusions, being the easiest to fuse together due to their volatile DNA. Cobs is aiming to make Tri Type pokemon specifically out of ultrabeasts. Like Lusamine he sees them as perfect and divine, but disregards their autonomy.

Amy leans over a snow dusted stone guard rail on a bridge that overlooks the Lumiose canal. The view is beautiful, and despite this not being one of the more notable bridges there are still more than a few tourists taking pictures of the winter scene.

"Don't misunderstand me, it's beautiful, but when you told me you had some grandiose secret I expected it to be a little less public."

"I'm hurt that you don't believe in me, Riritsu." The teasing tone is clear in Jaycé's voice as they waltz into frame. They carry a box that they didn't have in the last video and they gesture onward with their head. "We aren't there quite yet."

Amy hums, pushing themselves back off of the ledge. a bit reluctant to leave the view despite their words. They follow after Jaycé, leaning heavily on their cane. Delirium, on their heels, was being hounded by another, smaller Houndoom. Amy can't help the small laugh as Clover bothers Delirium a bit, yelping as the larger dog corrects her.

At the far end of the bridge Jaycé leads them both off the path and down a half obscured set of stairs that loop back towards the bridge. They stop before a security gate, various warnings in kalosian scattered over multiple signs on its surface.

"I found out a long while back that this one's never really locked." There's a mischievous look in their face as they easily unlach and open the gate. "I couldn't tell you why, but it was a quiet place away from things."

It's a simple platform, all things considered, a square concrete respite under the base of the bridge itself, wether for support or for ease of inspection you can't be sure. But it's a bit quieter down here sheltered from the wind, and the sound of the lapping water so close is soothing.

"It's certainly an interesting spot." Amy steps towards the water and glances down, watching the canal flow over thad through the reaching sheet of ice that tries unfruitfully to stop it's flow. "You know whatever those warnings were I'm beginning to think they were to ward off you in particular."

Jaycé had already half unpacked their box in the time that Amy had had their back turned, laying down a blanket and setting out a few still steaming containers and a thermos. Their laugh draws the professors attention back and Amy's surprise is obvious.

"What's all this?" Jaycé in response just offers a hand.

"Here, let me help you down. I got us kalosian onion soup and crepes- the real kind, don't get me started on that again, Riritsu."

"I don't need help- is this what we stopped for? Did you cook all of that? When?"

"Will you stop talking and let me help? Come on, I spent time on this. Don't let it get cold." Jaycé laughs and this seems to be enough to convince Amy to relent, taking their hand and settling down into the blanket with a hum, Jaycé settling down next to them.

There's a moment of calm between them, glancing out over the canal. The atmosphere lasts only a moment before the Houndoom come bounding into the blanket, making Jaycé scramble to defend the foods.

The Black Bulls and what pokemon I would assign to them.

Part 2

Charmy gets a Snorlax.

Snorlax is a normal type pokemon.

You've got a pokemon that isn't satisfied until it eats a heck ton of food paired with a wizard who loves feeding people.

Perfect match I'd say.

And after they've both eaten, Charmy can just flop on top of Snorlax and both can take a long nap.

There also both beings that are underestimated by those around them, which is a big mistake.

Grey gets a Sylveon.

Sylveon is a fairy type pokemon.

And one of the evee evolutions.

Sylveon is a really sweet and kind pokemon and for someone as shy as Grey, I think they'd be good friends.

Also Slyveon evolves from learning a fairy move and developing a strong friendship.

Showing the bond between them as Grey would have had Slyveon since before they evolved.

And having a more confident pokemon that she trusts to have her back would help grow her confidence.

Gauche gets a Drowzee.

They even look similiar...

Drowzee is a psychic type pokemon.

Like Gauche they both have bad reputations. Drowzee's coming from that they eat dreams, mostly the dreams of children.

This Drowzee isn't that bothered about what dreams he gets as long as they aren't bad ones.

Because they are nasty.

Several people have had to shoo him out of their rooms when they wake up and see him their.

Because that's creepy my dude.

But as Gauche gets closer to the others, as does Drowzee and a better system is made so he gets fed and everyone sleeps well.

Drowzee also remembers the dreams he's eaten and can show these memories.

Which could be seen as similiar to Gauche's mirror magic.

Secre gets a Phantump.

Phantump is a ghost and grass type pokemon.

Phantump's are said to be created from the soul of a child who dies in the woods.

Giving it a scary reputation, one that keeps people away.

When Phantump only wants to make friends.

Paired with Secre, a girl who was disowned by her noble family because of her magic seeming useless to them.

Now a woman who's seen as cursed and using forbidden magic.

Seems fitting.

Secre doesn't show it often but she's a caring person who's grown close to Asta and the other members of the black bulls.

I think she and Phantump would have a close bond, especially if they had met before.

Which I'd want them to have done.

I imagine after Secre disappeared, Phantump would become sort of a legend.

A wandering ghost looking in the woods for it's friends.

Their reunion would be sweet.

Nacht gets a Houndoom.

Houndoom is a dark and fire type pokemon.

And also a doggo.

Houndoom are known to be terrifying.

With people in ancient times hiding away when they hear the call of Houndoom's.

Very fitting pokemon for a guy who has made deals with devil's.

And given the nature of said devil's, having a loyal companion would be something Nacht would need.

Especially after his brothers death.

He wouldn't accept a pokemon that was anything less than strong, and Houndoom would take that as a challenge.

An intimidating pokemon for an intimadating wizard.

And finally, Yami gets a Krookodile.

Krookodile is a ground and dark type pokemon.

Who is known for its intimadation, but can also be really laid back.

Much like Yami.

I can imagine him seeing a Sandile and just pointing like, you.

And obviously being mocked for it.

Krookodile, being the evolved form of Sandile showing how strong of a bond they have with Yami.

Krookodile is known as being the "Bully of sands" because of how much the guy just dominates in that environment.

Krookodile is also wicked strong and can glide through the air.

... Glide through air... Despite being a crocodile.

Seems like someone's surpassing their limits 👀.

But would still be underestimated due to having quite a lot of type disadvantages.

Much like how Yami and his squad are seen as the weakest one.

Just a very fitting match up.

I imagine Sandile, the pokemon that evolves into Krookodile, is the one who dragged Yami to shore when he first appeared at the Clover Kingdom.

And they've been inseparable ever since.

Also in the anime Krookodile wears sunglasses that look hella cool and so would Yami's Krookodile.

Part 1

Off-Screen Post

The pair and their Pokémon are left standing in front of Geosenge Memorial, the fencing zoning off the more dangerous areas cast behind. It was odd to see amongst the moss covered stones and natural scenery, scarring the area as much as the scorch marks that still remain. 

With the approaching anniversary of the tragedy at Geosenge, there’s already the beginnings of a collection of gifts left at the foot of the plaque and statues that make up the memorial. A few bouquets of flowers and a few other miscellaneous items that held deep personal meaning to those that left them there. It appears they arrived at a good time, before the crowds are drawn in to pay their respects. They have the area to themselves to mourn in quiet as he would prefer. 

His breath catches in a way he’s almost positive Jaycé can hear. It’s not that Augustine has avoided this place, quite the contrary in fact, it’s a location he’s visited more than once for a variety of reasons. Though whatever his self-proclaimed reason for going, it always boiled down to one thing. Guilt. Being here with Jaycé added a new layer of guilt to weigh upon him. Old wounds made fresh again, he supposes. The weight of his own poor decisions, his clouded judgment, his misguided belief that this was the way he should protect his own child. 

Amongst the various smaller statues of the people and Pokemon of Kalos, the Pyroar stands out to him. Meant to represent the resilience of Kalos, it stands tall and casts its gaze in the direction of the rising sun.

After a long silence trapped in his own thoughts, he turns to give Jaycé an apology only to instead see them eyeing a bend in the fence that allows for people to pass through. The fence is covered with signs in Kalosian and a variety of other common languages warning visitors to stay away. It’s clear Jaycé intended to ignore them. 

Augustine should go after them. He knows that. Letting Jaycé go off into a restricted area on their own is risky. The sudden compulsion for them to even do so still boggles his mind. Yet he’s once again frozen in place. After some words of caution, Jaycé is off on their own. Clover the Houndoom bounds after them, leaving him to stare off in the direction they disappeared to before his attention refocuses.

Nourrice, who he had somehow almost forgotten was with him despite her large stature, nuzzles her face against his shoulder to offer him some greatly appreciated comfort. He manages to crack a smile, turning to the Garchomp and gently scratching under her chin. Eventually Jaycé will come back, and they will be here when they’re ready.
