I am being so serious when I say this, but why does every single episode of Criminal Minds that features gay men include an intensely emotional scene with JJ? Like we’ve all scene the early seasons edits with “what if the reason [the unsub] let his guard down is because he could finally be who he is?” Then there’s episode 8x15 with the conversion therapy camps, and now 17x7/CME2x7 with the victim’s fiancé talking about going from being afraid to be killed for being gay, to being able to get married? Like SURELY this is not a coincidence…

I love Piranha because after Emily hits a sort of rock bottom, she gets back on the horse and the first thing David Rossi hits her with is triggering her contrarian punk parental issues:

Intentional or not, I would argue that Luke being an unreliable narrator makes sense here. He also says in this conversation that Garcia knows he loves her, but we know that's not really the case. And he plays it up like the decision not to date was mutual even though he was really following Garcia's lead. This was most likely for Garcia's benefit because he doesn't want her to know that it wasn't mutual. In terms of why he would say that it's because their co-workers, that's half-true. He's only just met Teresa and probably doesn't want to rehash his entire history with Garcia, so he's oversimplifying. It would be a lot for Luke to be like, "Well, we worked together for 4 years and when she decided to leave I asked her out, but the date was bad because our work dynamic and friendship added pressure that made us feel like we couldn't be ourselves. She didn't want to move forward with something more, so we stayed friends and I still have feelings for her which was fine up until a week ago when everyone started calling me out on it."

I have a small bone to pick with the criminal minds writers.

Last week Luke said that him and Penelope went on a date but didn’t go any further because they were coworkers except THEY WEREN’T at the time. He literally asks her out because she’s leaving the BAU. That was just really lazy writing to me that they couldn’t come up with something other than they were coworkers (which they weren’t at the time).
