Duran Duran - Ordinary World 1992

"Ordinary World" is a song by English pop band Duran Duran, released in December 1992 as the first single from their seventh studio album and second self-titled album, commonly known as the Wedding Album. The ballad, written by the band and co-produced with John Jones, reached number 1 on the US Billboard Top 40/Mainstream chart, the Canadian RPM 100 Hit Tracks chart, and the Italian Singles Chart. It also peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, number 2 in Iceland and Sweden, and number 6 on the UK Singles Chart.

The song was nominated for Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically in May 1994. The music video was nominated for MTV Video Music Award's Best Cinematography in a Video in 1993. ☆ y/n-the guitarist and founder of the band. Ever since you picked up a used guitar at your local music shop, you haven't been able to stop playing. You're completely self-taught, but you've managed to make it this far with only YouTube tutorials and improv so you must have some talent (of course a certain purple-haired bastard would beg to differ)

✯ lumine-the vocalist and co-founder of C✧LESTIA (not to mention your childhood bestie!). Her and her brother both took singing lessons when they were younger so she was the first (and only) person you went to when you needed a vocalist. She's the big sister of the group, and when she's not rehearsing for a gig or tuning her instrument, you can find her nagging her brother.

𓄼 furina-C✧LESTIA's bassist and former president of the drama club. She's the most recent addition to the band. Furina got into music after losing her passion for acting and she's proven to be an amazing asset to the band, and an amazing friend. Due to her former acting career, she can usually pull some strings to get you guys into certain venues.

❥ kokomi -C✧LESTIA's keyboard player, and proud member of the chess club. Despite her cute and lady-like demeanor, Kokomi adores war-games and anything involving cunning strategy. She joined when you caught her playing piano in the music room alone. Kokomi is also incredibly popular among your peers, so her joining the band immediately gave you guys a surge of popularity.

❋ yoimiya-the drummer and self-proclaimed "comedic relief" of the group. She went to middle school with you and Lumine, so when C✧LESTIA hosted auditions for a drummer, she was quick to try out. Despite having no prior music experience, she's surprisingly good at playing the drums. Her family also owns a fire-work company so she's accustomed to loud bangs and booms.

They debuted on March 23rd, 2018 under SM ENTERTAINMENT as the fourth and only female sub-unit of the unlimited member concept group NCT. Multiple members debuted within separate units under NCT before making their debut in XLIGHT during the group's NCT 2018 EMPATHY era. 

The individual members of the group faced heavy amounts of backlash when they made their original debuts in NCT, but when the first all female unit was announced in 2018, both fans and the general public were excited for the debut. "Work It Out" is the debut solo single by American singer-songwriter Beyoncé. It was released on June 11, 2002, as the lead single from the soundtrack album to the film Austin Powers in Goldmember, in which Beyoncé stars as Foxxy Cleopatra. It was later included on international editions of Beyoncé's debut studio album, Dangerously in Love (2003). Beyoncé co-wrote the song with its producers, Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo. It is an R&B song which incorporates elements of 1960s and 1970s funk and post-disco.

The song was generally well received by music critics, many of whom complimented its retro style and various influences. It has been credited as the beginning of Beyoncé's career as a successful solo artist, after fulfilling a career as the lead vocalist of Destiny's Child. Hikaru 12th Digital Single "SHOUT" feat. Yuki Sasaki

At midnight on September 15, Hikaru is releasing her 12th digital single "SHOUT", following her previous singles Survivor, Escape, Flow, Awe, Treasure, Remain, Embrace, Kiseki, Koganeiro no Yakusoku, Breathe, Lack.

Initial thoughts: I really enjoy hearing Hikaru and Yuki together again. Their voices match super well. While I am not a particularly big fan of this type of rock(?) song, it sounds pretty cool so far. Very curious to hear the rest of it. I am assuming that Hikaru will be the lead in the second verse. [Will update as soon as the full version is released] Update: As expected, Hikaru is the lead for the second verse and the remainder of the song. Overall, I really like her vocals here. They fit this sort of gritty song. There are some slightly shout-y parts but I don't mind them at all, they are not out of place in a song titled "SHOUT". I do love how Hikaru and Yuki's vocals blend so well together during the "wohowo ohohoho" part, especially during the final chorus when both of their voices get to shine. I know I said I don't really like this kind of music but I have to admit that with every listen, I'm getting into it more and more. It might actually turn out to be one of my favourites among her digital releases as freelance artist. The verses are cool, the chorus is catchy, the beat is solid. I can see myself listening to it during a workout or something. I honestly would love to see a live performance of this (with Yuki as guest vocalist of course).

Debuting in 2012 as Flowerbank's second idol group and first-ever boy group, they were met with instant success and quickly began to climb the ranks, winning the title of "Rookie of the Year" and "Best Global Group" in 2012. The group would continue to grow and top the charts, even gaining international success that put them in competition with One Direction.

Despite their ever-growing stardom, the group would be met with tragedy when the heart and soul of the group, Lee Chang, would go missing in 2015. Upon his disappearance, the ISSAYAH members refused to come back without him, joining every search party for their missing friend. With no leads and very little evidence, police would close Lee Chang's case after six months of searching. Just a month after Lee's case was closed, ISSAYAH would go on an indefinite hiatus, only promising to return when they found Lee.

Lee Chang would reemerge into the public eye in 2024 outside the Flowerbank building, clearly disoriented and needing clarification as to what year it was. Upon the reveal that Lee Chang had been found after eight years of missing, the public rejoiced, and it made global news. Lee was found slightly dehydrated and with bruises on his arms, but other than that, he was healthy. After two months of reconnecting with his family and friends, Lee Chang returned to the public eye and resumed his activities as an idol.

No reason for his disappearance has ever been publicly issued.

ISSAYAH would sign with MYDOL Entertainment to manage their group activities, citing they "no longer trust Flowerbank Entertainment," which left the public speculating what they could mean by that. Yet again, no clarification was given.

BAI WU, 1993. VOCALIST, RAPPER. He left Flowerbank Entertainment in 2018 when his contract expired and returned to China, where he is a well-respected artist and model. In a 2022 Instagram post celebrating what would've been the group's ten-year anniversary, Bai referred to Lee in the past tense, leading many to believe he no longer believed Lee was alive. He signed an exclusive contract with Mydol Entertainment in April of 2024.

PARK HAON, 1995. RAPPER, VOCALIST, PRODUCER. He remained signed to Flowerbank Entertainment as a producer and soloist, still working and producing for the groups under the label. He had not made his opinions on Lee's whereabouts known, but he sent money to Lee's mother in America once a month to take care of her. He signed an exclusive contract with Mydol Entertainment in April of 2024.

SUH JAEHYUN, 1995. VOCALIST, RAPPER. He remained signed to Flowerbank Entertainment as an actor, creative director, and producer. In 2018, Jaehyun publicly stated that he did not believe Lee was alive and that the investigation into his disappearance was botched beyond belief. LEE CHANG, 1995. VOCALIST, DANCER. His contract remains active with Flowerbank Entertainment as he has not been legally pronounced dead. Carmen Bae, Co-CEO, has explained that this is so his mother can continue receiving royalties for Lee's music. Lee was last seen officially on CCTV leaving a bar known as "Devil's Lock and Key" in Busan with three friends, one female and two males, at around 2:12 in the morning, June 8th 2015. Lee was found on January 29th, 2024, after 8 years of being a missing person. He signed an exclusive contract with Mydol Entertainment in April of 2024.

MOON IDEUN, 1997. VOCALIST, DANCER, MAKNAE. After ISSAYAH's hiatus was officiated in 2015, Ideun was put into a sibling duo, 2MOON, with his twin sister Rua. Though the duo would be extremely famous in Korea, once it was time for contract renewals, Ideun would not resign from Flowerbank Entertainment and leave the industry to focus on his education. Ideun believes Lee Chang is alive and has disappeared on his own accord, saying: "Lee always talked about how beautiful Hawaii was when he visited as a kid. A/N - it's been weeks since I've written anything so I'm a lil rusty, I apologize.

He watched the cat. 

Its chubby, matted gray body weaved around the dented garbage cans lining the deserted street. Despite the empty sidewalks, the city was never a quiet beast. There was always a faint humming of people and commotion just above the surface. 

Always awake and dreaming. 

Abner sighed, leaning against the balcony railing. Just a few doors down, the vague words to a soft rock song spilled through an open window. He could hear various forms of chatter, as voices overlapped one another, creating a singular buzz of noise. 

It was nearing 2 a.m. 

He imagined a cluster of people, picking off the labels on beer bottles and talking to each other. Gossiping about their day jobs, and insolent co-workers. About the price of groceries, and overdue bills. Later in the night, when the liquid rush wore off, they would all fall into a hush as they departed one by one with slurred goodbye’s and extended hugs. Then finally, the music would begin to make sense, as the outside sound surrounding ceased. And he would be left with nothing but the vocalist to speak to him. 

Abner felt your arms curl around his waist, the edges of a thin white sheet clutched in between your fingers. Warmth emanated from your skin, as your bare chest pressed against his back. 

"What are you doing out here by yourself?"

Your breath fanned against his shoulder, lips grazing over the freckles and blemishes that adorned his body. 

“Just needed some air.” 

You nodded, faintly tracing the width of his shoulders with your lips. He shuddered, a chill rushing down his spine just from the contact you provided.

“Are you cold?”

He shook his head, securing his fingers around your wrist when he felt you retreating. 

“I’m fine,” he whispered, leaning back against you. 

Why was he out here, really? He should be in bed, dozing off with your head in the crook of his neck. You should be wrapped up in his arms, tight and warm as the still night eventually spilled into a still morning. He sighed, grasping onto the cold balcony rail. Truth is, the nights were the hardest for him to get through. All dreams, a sweet imaginary haven meant for escape, lead back to her. Her hard, piercing stares and the sounds of her heavy footfalls continued to haunt the dusty corners of his mind. Some nights, when he was hunched over the bathroom sink, head dizzy with the faint still images of a nightmare long passed, his own reflection warped into her. As if she were still buried inside of him, a reminder that his flesh was never his own. Abner was almost tempted to peel his face back during those moments, if only to see if it were true. 

If a son could truly never part from his mother. Would she be waiting there, beneath the stretched torn flesh?

Abner focused on the cat again. One of its fat paws was gently prodding at a gated front door, belonging to one of the many townhouses lining the street. Its yowls echoed off the empty paved streets, a desperate plea that slowly pulled at the threads of Abner’s heart. Whether the owners were asleep, or simply not home, its calls went unanswered. 

“Poor creature,’ he muttered, frowning at the sight. 

“Its owners will show up soon,’ you said, squeezing your arms around him. 

He hummed, watching as the cat curled up against the edge of the door. Waiting patiently, perhaps forever, to go home. 

The once blaring music, finally fell to a muffled hum as the partygoers gave their farewells. 

Your chin was nestled in between his shoulder blades, as the tip of your nose brushed against his cheek. 

Of course you were there, at the end of all the noise. Always slowly reaching out, trying to bring him back to his fuzzy version of reality. One where he could try and be happy, or at least become loose acquaintances with it. Abner entangled his fingers with yours, his grip unrelenting. 

He wondered why this couldn’t be enough, to simply fix it.

sakura ➝ a japanese singer and actress based in south korea currently in the girl group LE SSERAFIM, first debuting in 2011 with the girl group HKT48, a concurrent member of sister group AKB48 from 2014 to 2018, before graduating in 2021. she was also formerly a member of IZ*ONE. y/n’s favourite, and a huge fan of Red Velvet.

chaewon ➝ LE SSERAFIM’s leader, lead vocalist and a former member of IZ*ONE. pretty well known in the industry, having many acquaintances but not many friends. has anger issues, a lot of it.

y/n ➝ LE SSERAFIM’s lead vocalist and rapper, was a fan of IZ*ONE before debuting, and a twice stan. a social butterfly, so she has made many friends in the industry even though she’s only been an idol for a short amount of time.

yunjin ➝ LE SSERAFIM’s main vocalist and participated in the survival show Produce 48 with sakura and chaewon. she grew up in new york and trained in opera. she’s a fan of Girls Generation and BTS, and close friends with aespa’s winter and ningning.

kazuha ➝ LE SSERAFIM’s main rapper and dancer, and trained in ballet for 15 years. she’s a big fan of BLACKPINK, and due to the language barriers, she isn’t able to make many idol friends.
