does am do can have sweet potato cookie recipe?
of course can have!
sweet potato n'oatmeal* raisin cookies
ingredients:
1 sweet potato
1 c almond flour (or sub sunflour for nut-free, it says)
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 c unsweetened shredded dried cocount
1 T cinnamon
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/4 c coconut oil
1/4 c maple syrup
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 c raisins
instructions:
cook the sweet potato. Bake in oven @ 400F until soft (~45 minutes) or nuke 6-8 minutes
set oven to 375F to preheat for cookies
combine flour, baking soda, shredded coconut, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl (or don't if you don't like dishes)
mash sweet potato in a medium mixing bowl, stir in oil, maple syrup, and vanilla extract
fold the dry ingredients into the wet + add raisins
scoop onto a lined cookie sheet or w/e, and flatten to form round(ish, in my experience) cookies - batter does not spread, it will be the shape you make it; the power is yours
bake 15 minutes
These cookies reminded me of good carrot cake. Keep in mind that I haven't had carrot cake in over a decade. But they're really tasty, would also probably be good crumbled on ice cream or as the crumble for apple or cherry something.
The printout my parents gave me had multiple recipes from multiple sources on it, but the picture that was beside this recipe has a holdthegrain.com watermark on it. That website loads blank now.
*yes it says oatmeal, no there's no oatmeal in the ingredients list or the instructions; I threw in 1/2 cup gluten free oats, and got very crumbly, moist cookies. maybe the n'oatmeal (copied verbatim) means no oatmeal and it shouldn't be there? godspeed on the oatmeal thing.

KERALA FISH CURRY
Tumblr media
This recipe has been handed down by my grandmother . Everytime I make this curry it takes me back to the time my grandmother used to make it for me during my summer vacation. She starts by cleaning the fish in the area behind the kitchen , then she goes ahead with her coconut milk extraction. She always used a white cloth to squeeze out the milk from the coconut . Then , she makes sure all the ingredients needed are in the reach of her hand and starts preparing the curry . The moment she starts preparing the dish till it ends the aroma fills the house .
Serves - 6
Cooking time - 45 mins
Difficulty level - moderate
Ingredients required
Fish - 1/2kg (Recommended fishes Seerfish/Shrimp/Pearlspot)
Coconut Oil / Refined oil - 3tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Fenugreek powder - 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Kashmiri chilly powder - 3 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste - 2tbsp
Garcinia - 3 pieces (soaked in warm water)
Coconut milk - 1 cup (coconut powder can be used)
Salt to taste
Curry leaves - handfull
Method of preparation
Heat oil in clay pot . Preferably coconut oil as it adds to the flavor. Add mustard seeds and curry leaves . Once it crackles add ginger garlic paste , turmeric powder , chilly powder, fenugreek powder and saute till the oil separates . Add half cup of warm water to the masala along with the soaked garcina . Add salt to taste. Once it boils add the cleaned fish and cook on high flame for 3 mins. Lower the flame and cook for 20 mins till the curry has become thick . Lastly add thick cocount milk .
Serve hot with rice.

Medium-Chain Triglycerides Are Synthetic Fats Generated By Digesting Coconut And Palm Kernel Oils
Tumblr media
                                        Medium-Chain Triglycerides
In essence, Medium-chain Triglycerides are synthetic fats generated by digesting coconut and palm kernel oils. They are quite helpful since they can treat a variety of conditions, including celiac disease, diarrhoea, and liver illness. They are commonly utilised in products like infant formula, sports drinks, personal care products, and dietary supplements, among others. Because it contains fatty acids that come from organic items like coconut or palm oil. As a result, it is highly sought after by companies that produce personal care items including bath products, cleaning products, and other skin care items. Additionally, Medium-Chain Triglycerides contain substances with an oily texture that aid in building barriers on the skin's surface to keep moisture in.
If ingested regularly, medium chain triglycerides have a number of positive effects on a person's health. They can assist in lowering the dangers of hormone imbalances, weight gain, digestive issues, and cognitive impairments, among other advantages.Medium chain fatty acids with carbon chains make up Medium-chain Triglycerides. In a lab, coconut and palm oils are processed to create them. A dull or slightly yellowish, greasy liquid, medium chain triglycerides are insoluble in water. They mix well with fatty oils, alcohol, methylene chloride, and petroleum products.Sportsmen frequently use medium chain triglycerides to replace traditional fat in their diet.

Does Coconut Oil Help With Covid-19-Coconut Oil For Coronavirus
With the onset of 2020, we were all faced with the wrath of the deadly pandemic- COVID-19, which led everyone to go under a lockdown globally. Since then we have all been on a journey to find ways to cope with the pandemic. From our food habits to our work habits, everything has undergone a big change. Amongst all the changes, adapting healthier food habits to aid the development of a stronger immune system-something all of us need right now. Food habit changes include things like having kaadha every day, including turmeric in our diet etc. As we all struggled to find ways of enhancing our immune system, meanwhile a study done by a group of scientists said that one of the potential cure for this novel coronavirus is something that is found in almost all Indian Kitchens- Coconut Oil.
COCONUT OIL & ITS BENEFITS Although to prove the effectiveness of coconut oil against the Covid-19 virus, clinical trials are under process, the benefits of coconut oil dates way back to more than a thousand years ago. According to one of the learned members of the COVID-19 state government task force, Coconut oil contains lauric acid- a saturated fatty acid that a human body can synthesis easily like ghee. Such fats are the healthy source of good fats which our body needs. In the context of coconut oil for coronavirus, it is said that whenever we intake or use coconut oil on our body, lauric acid is released from it. It is an acid that results in the formation of monolaurin. This released component Monolaurin has properties which can kill fungi, bacteria, virus & other pathogens.Except for coconut oil, no other cooking oil has lauric acid present in it. When we consume coconut oil in our meals and it gets ingested in our body, metabolites are released by the lipase enzyme. These metabolites, namely lauric acid & monolaurin, are the active compounds. This aid of coconut oil for coronavirus treatment is also supported by one argument given by a few people. According to that, coconut oil is majorly used for cooking in the Southern part of India,in Kerala, Tamil Nadu etc. In India’s fight against the pandemic, the state & people of Kerala fought the deadly virus really well.
THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ARGUMENT The other side of the story - ‘can coconut oil kill corona virus’ - is also thought-stirring. As per one of the doctors from a renowned public hospital, although coconut oil contains compounds such as monolaurin & lauric acid and zinc which is said to be an immunity booster for COVID-19 patients, there is no relevant data that shows precisely what is the absorption efficiency of the human body of all these compounds. In contrast to the argument that people from Kerala fought so well against the virus because of inclusion of coconut oil in their everyday diet being one of the major factors, there is another argument that says coconut oil has a high content of lipid in it which is responsible for the high number of heart-related disease in the state. CONCLUSION Since the fight against COVID-19 has started, everyone is experimenting on what can work in their favour. Apart from its efficiency against the coronavirus, Coconut oil has a lot of other health benefits as well and should be consumed regularly. Shalimar’s Coconut Oil is made with the choicest coconuts, giving you a promise of purity.

God  & Goddess Self-care Routine
I love to take care of myself and feel like an ancient queen or priestess.
However, I don't like to spend a lot of money and I know for a fact, that expensive products often can't reach the quality of cheaper alternatives! (Multiple tests show that. A body lotion for 2 Euros has proven to be three times more effective than the 30 Euro Vichy alternative e.g. You pay for the brand, not the ingredients and their efficiency)
I've read a lot of Self-Care posts but none of those spoke to me on a deeper level, so I thought I might share my routine with you all, in the hope of maybe inspiring you to try it as well.
Once a week I treat myself by playing some ancient egyptian and roman music or ambiance sounds while starting with the "procedure" that is supposed to nourish my body and soul.
All your senses should get involved in your little God/Goddess SPA-Program, which means that everything you use should smell wonderful, everything you hear should sooth you, what you taste should satisfy you, what you feel should be enjoyable and what you see should be aesthetically pleasing to you.
DON'T FALL FOR THE SCAM SOCIETY IS TRYING TO MAKE YOU BELIEVE: YOU DON'T HAVE TO SPEND A LOT OF MONEY TO FEEL LUXURIOUS!
First make sure everything is clean and nice - nobody wants to shower in a dirty cabin or bathe in a dirty bathtub! (You can clean it the day before, if you don't want to exhaust yourself by cleaning before your SPA-Moment)
Put on the ancient ambience sounds or music. [Playlist and examplary ambiance link below]
Burn some incense and use products that smell seductively wonderful (Rose, Vanilla, Cinnamon, Sandlewood e.g. - whatever you prefer)
I recommend using a body peeling - it frees you from dead skin cells, makes your skin smooth and stimulates blood circulation. You can make your own and save some money! I like to use grounded coffee and cocount oil. Alternatively you can look up alternatives with sea salt e.g.
After that is the perfect time for shaving, if you intend to do so - if not, skip ahead.
While showering or bathing close your eyes - listen, smell and breath in meditative manner.Feel yourself, capture your power internally and make yourself aware of your innate potential. You are strong, you are capable, you are beautiful/handsome and nobody will be able to damage you, because you'll always rise from the ashes like a phoenix.
Feel your hands on your scalp while massaging in the lovely smelling shampoo, feel the water around you, feel it drumming against your skin when it falls on your body. The purifying water flows down your body like a river - you are part of something bigger.
When you are clean and feel like your true strong self, take a towel and feel it taking in every drop of water left on your body. It is as receptive to the water, as you should be to the world. It was designed to play into your demands, and the world can be designed the way you want it to be, too. Manifest your wishes while carefully drying your body. NO RUBBING!
If you want your skin protected, do yourself a favor and use face cream. I usually do my ritual at night before going to bed, so I use my night-care skin cream. Your body lotion shouldn't be forgotten either. It keeps your skin hydrated, soft and young.
Put on something nice. Nightwear is underestimated - believe me. I like to put on one of my silk - or imitation silk - nightgowns or pyjamas. It feels great, looks great and you'll feel like a God/Goddess.
My last step is to put on some lip balm and if possible meditate. It doesn't need to take long - even 5 minutes can improve your mental well-being and inner balance.
Treat yourself with some fruit, a piece of cake or whatever you might like. Just make sure you don't ingest a whole pizza after the routine - it is too heavy on the stomach and influences your perception of your body. I love Pizza and most of the unhealthy stuff around and I certainly eat far too much of it, but I'm working on eating healthier and would recommend you to do the same.
I hope you enjoy the routine and may create your own along the way. Know your worth, take care of yourself and when that is done, you'll be a more balanced blessing for the world.

Star of the week!!!
COCONUT OIL HAS UV PROTECTION PROPERTIES (BUT DON’T USE IT AS SUNSCREEN!)
Coconut oil is being touted as a natural alternative to commercial sunscreens because of its supposed ability to protect skin from UV rays. There is a kernel of truth in this. Coconut oil has some sun protection properties, but only minimal.A 2010 study has shown that coconut oil has
a SPF… of 7
! That’s a lot lower than the minimum level of protection recommended by dermatologists, which is 15. So, while coconut oil may help boost the protection properties of your sunscreen, it certainly is no substitute for it, and should never be used as such.
COCONUT OIL AND ACNE
Coconuts contain between 45-48% Lauric Acid, a fatty acid that has antibacterial properties. A 2009 study has shown that it can kill propionibacterium acne, the bacteria that causes acne.Does that mean that coconut oil can treat acne? Not so fast. One of its components can, which is not the same thing at all. Coconut oil itself may help, it may not. Further studies need to be carried out before we can say for certain that it is an effective treatment for acne.We do know, however, that coconut oil is classified as comedogenic. While this doesn’t mean it will clog pores and cause breakouts as soon as it touches your skin, if you have oily skin that’s prone to blemishes, coconut oil may make things worse.
COCONUT OIL IS THE BEST HAIR OIL EVER
Enough about skin. What does coconut oil do for hair? A lot. Unlike most oils, coconut oil can penetrate inside the hair shaft, conditioning and nourishing hair from within. It makes it stronger, shinier, and protects it from hydral fatigue.Hydral fatigue, due to swelling and contraction of the hair during the uptake and loss of water, can damage hair. Coconut oil, by reducing swelling of the hair shaft when wet, limits the damage. That’s why it makes such a great pre-wash treatment. Plus, it also reduce damage while combing.
DOES COCONUT OIL HAS ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
I’ve already mentioned how coconut oil can clog pores and causes breakouts in some people. In others,
coconut oil can cause allergies.
This is very rare, but can occur. If you experience any negative side effect, discontinue its use immediately.
THE BOTTOM LINE
Although coconut oil can’t be used as sunscreen, and it’s unclear how well (if at all) it works for acne, it is one of the best, most effective, and gentler moisturizers for skin and hair.Do you use coconut oil? I use it from my favourite natural store with cosmetics
MONNA.
