Hellstorm most likely wouldn't see it until after the mission, because only you are cocky and reckless enough to check/use your phone during a mission (actually everyone else does it, he's just such a stickler for rules despite "not caring about anything").

He's storming (heh) towards you, phone in hand and is like "Why did you think taking pictures during a mission was the best idea???"

He'd never admit to you that he thought it was funny once he got past the whole "taking pictures during a serious mission" thing.

But also RIP to him because he's now 35 and while he already knew this was his last deployment (because the Navy had already signed his waiver for him to continue at 35 but no later than that and so he now has to retire), the situation really just hit him right now.

I think the man needs a hug, because he's just staring at me like "What am I supposed to do with my life now?"

There are so many photos that Monster Wildlife Photographer!Stone and Monster Wildlife Photographer!Hellstorm have where you're just all peacocked out for them, showing off your feathers and strutting around.

Stone is so oblivious but also he lowkey thinks those pictures are the best he has of you. Meanwhile Hellstorm is like "Your wooing of Stone is working??? How???" Like he's so confused but also your courting of him is also working.

Hellstorm barged into the Rear Admiral's office, silently seething. The Rear Admiral was sitting at his desk, looking at papers, and Hellstorm went straight towards him.

"You picked {Name} for the newest mission?" he asked, trying to keep his tone neutral, though it was clear from the tick in his jaw that he wasn't happy with this.

"I did pick him for the new mission, he's the most qualified," the Rear Admiral replied, seeming unfazed at the rising heat in the air. "Besides, you've never cared about other pilots before, Commander."

Hellstorm's jaw clenched even harder. "I don't care about him," he said, spitting the sentence out like the words were bitter on his tongue. "I care that you're needlessly sending a young pilot out on a suicide mission because he's deemed "expendable" to you higher-ups."

The Rear Admiral bristled at the accusation Hellstorm so carelessly threw out, setting down his pen and looking up at Hellstorm. "This is not a suicide mission, Commander. {Name} will be fine," he explained.

"Then send me instead."

The silence that came after Hellstorm's words was deafening, the Rear Admiral staring at the other man like he was seeing someone new for the first time. And perhaps he was, considering Hellstorm had never felt so strongly about anyone before. Hellstorm had never even felt so strongly about himself before.

Here he was though, telling the Rear Admiral to send him instead. Like some savior, which couldn't be farther from the truth of who Hellstorm was as a person. He didn't care, he wasn't supposed to care. Certainly not for some Lieutenant.

"Commander, I'm not sending you on the mission," the Rear Admiral responded after a while, shaking his head at Hellstorm's request.

"Because it's a suicide mission?" Hellstorm asked, prodding and trying to bait the Rear Admiral into admitting it was a suicide mission. If he could do that, maybe you wouldn't be sent on this mission.

The Rear Admiral knew what he was doing though and his jaw clenched, his eyebrows furrowed in anger. "No, Commander," he said, his voice cold as ice. "It's because you're needed here and you do not get to question my decisions. You've done well with following orders up until now and you'll consider to do so, or face punishment. Am I clear?"

Hellstorm wanted to scream, wanted to make even more of a scene that he was already doing. But instead he reached down inside of him to the apathy that always laid within his reach and he pulled it over his emotions, suppressing them.

His face took on a bored expression like always, nodding his head to the Rear Admiral. "Crystal clear, sir," he replied, his voice monotone as always.

"You're dismissed, Commander."

With those words, Hellstorm turned on his heel and walked out of the office, closing the door behind him. He stood there, in the hallway, forcing himself to maintain his bored facade.

I don't care, I don't care, I don't care, Hellstorm chanted to himself like it was a mantra. He then walked to his barracks, leaving the thought of you behind.

hellstorm meeting with fcs!reader again after many years. reader and him met when hellstorm was still in the foster care system and he was the only person hellstorm ever got close to (and reader was also his gay awakening)

Hellstorm meeting you again would throw that man so off-guard, it isn't even funny. He can push away everyone else, make them believe he doesn't care about anything and anyone.

But you, you know too much. You know him better than anyone else ever could. You've seen the younger Arun, before he was ever Hellstorm, and you've seen him at his most vulnerable.

You were there when he got sent to foster home after foster home, reading tear-soaked letters that he sent you detailing how the last foster home wasn't the right fit for him. How expendable he felt whenever he got moved around and carted off to a new foster family only to be moved again a couple months in (if he was lucky to stay that long).

Thus, Hellstorm tries to avoid you as best as he can because you know him too well and you've grown to be even hotter than you were when you two were kids. He can't rely on his facade of boredom when he's around you because you see through that like it's glass and he can't think around you.

If he wasn't too busy panicking over how he's used to act how he usually acts with everyone else around you, he'd let himself feel relief that you're back in his life. But alas, Hellstorm is too busy freaking out.

Hellstorm would be seething on the inside. Only on the inside, because he looks bored on the outside. He wants to tell you off so badly, but then you'd get into your head that he cares about you (he does) and he can't have you thinking that.

So he just says you could've died (which you could've) and it was a rather selfish and reckless move. Think about the amount of paperwork your superior would have to do if you died on a mission. (Hellstorm, why are you so rude?)

pilot!reader coming back extremely injured and unconscious after said dangerous mission from the previous ask (not mine) and is put in emergency care immediately and wakes up to Hellstorm beside the hospital bed and they have a cute moment maybe? 🥀

This is going to be short, sorry. But it's going to be cute, so yay.

Hellstorm pushed open the doors to the base hospital, walking like a man on a mission. He had heard of you coming back from what he was calling "the suicide mission" and when he had heard you were injured, he came to the base hospital straight away.

As he walked to where the nurses' station was, he was internally cursing the Rear Admiral for sending you on this mission. He told the Rear Admiral that this was a suicide mission, but the man still sent you. And now you were injured.

"Where's {Name}?" Hellstorm asked the nurse covering the nurses' station, his usual monotone voice hard and angry. He vaguely registered the nurse flinching away due to his tone.

The nurse pointed in the direction of your hospital room and he stalked towards the room. He opened the door and the cold heart in his chest softened at seeing you laying on the bed, hooked up to the machines.

Hellstorm walked over to your bedside instantly, his eyebrows furrowed in worry as he looked over your injured body. But his worry was short-lived, due to you opening your eyes.

"I thought you didn't care about me?" you asked, somehow cheeky after all you had been to. Your smile made Hellstorm's heart skip a beat in his chest.

He rolled his eyes, holding onto his facade of boredom. "I don't care about you, I was told by the Rear Admiral to check up on you," he replied, the lie falling off his tongue easily.

But you didn't believe him for a second.

You made an o-shape with your mouth and pretended to go along with his lie, being bold enough to reach over and intertwine your fingers with his. "Yes, I'm sure he did tell you to check up on me. You're doing a great job of following his orders." Your smile broadened as you dropped the act. "But I saw the way your eyebrows were furrowed in worry as I was opening my eyes, you can't fool me."

"Whatever," Hellstorm grumbled half-heartedly. He didn't pull his hand away, he should've, but your hand in his felt so warm. "Should I let you rest?"

Part of him, the selfish part of him which forgot that he was supposed to be emotionless and uncaring, wanted you to say no. To request he stay. He wanted to stay.

And it was a good thing you wanted him to stay too.

"Nah, I rested more than enough," you responded, squeezing the hand of his that you were still holding. "You can't escape me that easily. Pull up a chair, I want to hear all about how you tortured the new aviators with their training."

Hellstorm reached behind him to pull the chair that was in the corner closer to your bedside and he sat down, his lips twitching as he wanted to smile so much at your humor.

God, he had missed you.

Anyways, I think Hellstorm would try his best to give you cheesy, romantic pick-up lines back. In his defense, he's only had one-night stands so dating is new to him. But at least he's giving back the same energy you are, right?

pilot! reader who takes hellstorm’s storming (haha) out the room as confirmation and he’s got a stupid grin plastered across his face for at least the next week. pilot!reader starts bugging him more & is just generally at his heels like a excited puppy.

Hellstorm is ducking into random barracks to try and evade you because he's desperately trying not to care about you. But you're managing to be at his heels every single time.

You're everywhere he goes, he can't escape you. He turns a corner, you're there with that grin. The worse part is when you're not even looking for him, he just turns the corner and he sees you talking with one of the other aviators who is your friend.

He stays hidden from your view, looking at you. You're laughing with them, smiling. Whatever they're saying must be hilarious, he thinks as he watches you snort. Your snort is so cute, he thinks before he can realize what he's even thinking.

Oh fuck.

That's too close to admitting he cares, instead he stares at you until you wake up and is like "Do you hate me? Because you keep putting me in positions where I'd have to notify your next of kin that you died."

And you better not respond with "Oh, I thought you didn't care about me." Because he will storm out of the hospital room because, and I quote, "he doesn't care about anyone, much less about a cocky aviator."

You better hope the mission is a success despite all of your shenanigans, because if he has to save you and deal with the fall-out of the failed mission, Hellstorm might break his facade and have a conniption.

I don't really have a prompt for this yet but maybe they are just fascinated by reader, maybe they get caught sneaking around reader's territory by him, maybe he knows they've been following him around and chooses to entertain their photos and observations or maybe he isn't too pleased with humans around him

I didn't know if you wanted both of them or if you wanted me to choose which OC to do, but I just went with both. Because it made sense to me for reasons unknown.

I can totally see Hellstorm coming onto his trip with Stone because he wanted to get into Stone's pants and not because he wanted to also photograph monsters in their own natural habitats (though he too is a wildlife photographer). So cue Stone following you around with secret eagerness that is just barely hidden while a very flirty Hellstorm following after him.

You know those two are following you, you can smell their scents. You don't mind, you've caught sight of those two and you decided they were going to be your mates, since they're already around. You purposefully preen and show off your impressive monster features, knowing they're taking pictures of you. You're going to court them, one way or the other.

They both don't realize until Hellstorm finally looks away from Stone's ass (naughty man) and looks back at the pictures he's already taken of you. And even then, he doesn't tell Stone just yet, making it an unofficial challenge between you and him to see which one can woo Stone first.
