Integrating into the group post-series - Sissi Delmas, William Dunbar, Patrick Belpois

Original show only, no Evolution (and only familiar with English dub).

Okay, so I think Sissi is the one with the real shot at integrating into the group. She's wanted to be a member for ages, and they seem willing to give her a shot. For this day, anyway. It's a change of pace, but it's easy enough for people to fall into old habits. They, at least, can remember the heroic things she's done on occasion. But if there's no XANA, there's no reason for her to be doing them again, so personalities are going to have to work. And Sissi's going to have to let go of her crush on Ulrich, IMO, as I don't see him starting to return her interest. And then there's their Lyoko Warrior time: will this secret of the past (presuming it's not something continuing in the present) be a barrier? What do you think her dynamic with each character be? And what happens with her two flunkies (and are they better off without her, given how she's treated them, or do they deserve a second chance relationship with decent behavior like Sissi and the gang?)

I've talked about William before. I think Yumi is the biggest barrier to his inclusion. Aelita rightfully points out that's she been captured and controlled by XANA before, too. And William can be heroic. I think he has some aspects that would make him a decent pal to Ulrich (as long he's not jealous over Yumi). William certainly has a sense of entitlement, but given that they're willing to give Sissi a chance...

And lastly, Patrick. There's nothing at all pointing to his continuing involvement, I just liked him. I think the biggest negative is on Jeremie. And that's that I'm not sure he could maintain his newfound lack of jealousy. Patrick is a cooler guy than him. He has charisma and people skills and is much more interested in the activities Jeremie's friends are interested in than Jeremie is. As strong as the bond between Jeremie and the others is, Jeremie is not necessarily the most fun person to hang out with. Nor, really, does Jeremie necessarily find all their activities fun (though to be fair, back in season 1, he enjoyed Ulrich and Odd's game in the library and stress may contribute to his unwillingness to relax). The second point is that we saw Patrick only very briefly, and he's really almost too perfect. The others all have pretty overt flaws (Ulrich, Odd, Jeremie and Yumi more than Aelita, IMO). Both the presence of those flaws and seeing them grow up and become better are interesting aspects of the characters. So it brings up the question of how to develop Patrick without changing him drastically and without the others, with their human failings, looking bad in comparison.

Am I the only person who wanted Patrick Belpois to stay on the show?

He had potential and he was amazing. The ending being his parents changing their minds about him staying with Jeremie baffles me, because the original timeline before the RTTP was him staying.
