I was playing with my 4 year old lil brother and he, in simplistic terms, pitched a world where, due to the flooding resulting from a meteorite strike, cowboys were forced improvise sailing ships and turn into western-aestheticed pirates and I am now obsessed

for like 3 weeks i was wondering why i was sleeping so much and felt listless. and just now I managed to email 3 people and responded to a month old message in the span of an hour because I got back to TAKING MY FUCKIN MEDS..........

#MOTHER FFFFUCKER #to be fair. my doc said I could stop taking them while im on break since i wouldnt need to be constantly pumped on stimulants #im not sure if it was a side effect but i managed to take like 3 different naps in one day and STILL managed to sleep thru the whole night #at least 2 days into my break. the weird thing is i didnt feel more or less rested afterwards. but mentally i think im in a good place rn #to really put the level of awakeness im at rn i feel weirdly confident i could start one piece. also bc of that sick new opening it BANGS #the song is really good and im in love with the animation style. did some digging and it seems one of the lead animators is masato mori #but i could be wrong. it seems he also did some work on mp100 which could explain a lot lol.. he uses smear frames really well to convey #consistent movement and fluidity!!! someone else might have done color design but it works really really well esp with odas style!!#just love the overall vibe and aesthetic and id really love to study it and incorporate a bit of it into my art.. especially the thick #outlines which i think helps to separate characters and objects on screen. though i have to say the style is definitely more suited to #animation bc of the simpleness and smears. maybe that will help me explore shapes and perspective when i draw... i wanna get better #at drawing poses and angles but i have a hard time wrapping my head around space and using perspective guide lines NGHHHH #i wonder if it has to do with my dogshit ability to judge distance. not depth perception but like. judge how far smth is in metres etc #im also wearing an N95 for the first couple weeks back bc of the wave. absolutely NO BODY is wearing a mask its so fucking over #where im sitting ive heard 5 different people coughing probably not into their elbows!!! and im just. head in my fucking hands #there was a kid sitting a couple seats away in class coughing as he pleases and i wanted to grab him in a chokehold so badly. PLEASEE #ive been annoying my family by asking them to mask up and reminding them to bring masks when they go out and showing them news articles #but at least its working bc we ordered some KN95s and my mom is at least taking me seriously so. please dont be afraid to speak up abt your #health. take care of yourself and others however u can!! wear that mask indoors at your maskless friends house!!! stay home when u can!!#im wearing a surgical mask at home too bc my parents have '''a dry throat cough''' and they are so bad at coughing into their sleeves #also im pretty sure dry throat isnt transmissible bc my brother started coughing too so.. i also tested negative but they havent tested yet #im also not a doctor but i have to keep reminding ppl whenever i can that covid and flu work differently. covid is new and too recent to #have nearly as much research done on it. it seems its also compounding so instead of building immunity it weakens the body and spreads to #to other systems which might explain brain fog and muscle weakness. i remember someone early in the pandemic got infected and it messed up #their smell/taste receptors so bad that they cant eat most foods and that stays in the front of my mind when i think abt covid. christ #yapping

Can I really call it a rewatch when the truth is is that I watch Babylon 5 every single day.

#thoughts from hel #so basically i submitted a cover letter with some highlighted text in random colors bc i forgot to unhighlight them before submitting #(i highlight things to remember to change them for each job app but i might have to deprecate that practice after this)#and then i realized and was like oh fuck and i was like well maybe i should just own it y'know. it's me being super innovative and creative #and also since i highlight stuff to change all the highlighted texts were the most relevant parts of the cover letter anyway #but the highlighting job was messy as hell after i dragged sentences to and fro all over it while i was formulating that thing. like #the highlighting started kind of in the middle of my sentence and had extra highlighted spaces and colors n stuff it was. haphazard.#so i was like okay. i probably can't gaslight (by sending psychic vibes to the recruiter-- since it's an online form #with no direct communication between me and them whatsoever) the recruiter into reasonably thinking this highlighting job #was on purpose. so i spent a full like TWO EXTRA HOURS spiraling into “can i submit the form twice or should i just take the L on this”#and ultimately submitted it a second time with the fixed letter. uhhh hopefully it was the fixed one but i'm too tired to care now #part of the job description was “attention to detail” so i definitely failed that one the first time around but the recruiter #who reads (hopefully. because with how saturated the job market is now they might not even do that) my apps #had BETTER see all the fucking attention to detail i paid to making sure my decision to resubmit would be a good one #telepathically. of course. (the difference between overthinking and attention to detail is how much you are appreciated)#i literally went on so many forums and the help page for the recruiting application website thing to find out how exactly they handled #duplicate applications bro i could RECITE this shit to anyone now. fuck #time to go to sleep. tomorrow is a new day. with ten+ more companies to apply to. 👍

get better at geography

more consistently take my irish and spanish lessons

do more traditional art

learn embroidery

get a jean jacket to add patches and embroidery to

make at least one shirt from scratch

#tá brón ó chroí orm nana 😭#but seriously i want to be able to look at any given point on a map and be able to name every country #customizing clothes in general is also basically on this list. i routinely fix hems on stuff which is super nice #but i wanna do better alterations overall alongside adding things like patches and embroidery to everything #getting a sewing machine instead of having to do everything by hand would also be nice but. space and money LOL #with traditional art i wanna bust out my inks graphite charcoal and paint again. colored pencils. markers.#i used to do a lot of “draw in sharpie to force yourself to not constantly adjust stuff and just embrace messiness” practice i want to do #that again too. ya boy Needs to fill up some sketchbooks!! i will have fun and try new things! i will!!

reeeeal i fucking love junji ito !!! but also he's one of the few artists who can actually make me feel extremely fucking scared, so he's a no-no at night LMAO

i made the mistake of reading hanging balloons and the enigma of amigara fault (especially the latter) at night, and i had pretty bad anxiety for a good few days because i really didn't expect it to actually freak me out, so i got blindsided. i'm kinda used to him now but jesus christ dude. he's such a good artist and he uses it for pure evil, i love it.

the only thing i've read from him that i didn't find even a little scary was gyo, and i still like that one. uzumaki and hellstar remina are my favorite "longer" stories, and i really want to get into tomie. enigma of amigara fault is the scariest of the shorts for me

to me he's basically what people hyped up HP Lovecraft to be, except it's actually quite scary. and isn't full of racial slurs.

There is a decent sized part of me that's disappointed that the new hermits aren't girls or creators that are a little more outside the already existing collab groups but. On the other hand. Gem had to turn off comments recently for one of the eps in her traffic debut season just a couple months ago and i was white knuckling it thinking about how much harassment any smaller creator, especially a marginalized one, would face, so in some ways, it's a bit of a relief

#the thing is... idk when you solely focus your attention of diversifying these white nerd institutions...#you end up bringing marginalized people into these white spaces and hanging them out to dry with the racist and misogynist fans #and if you arent equipped to stand up for them and risk alienating your audience... then you shouldn't subject those creators to that imo #don't get me wrong... large corperations should be doing better #but. i feel like i've seen all-white collectives run into this problem before bc they never had the chance to weed out racist fans before #and now they have a token who has to deal with all their shit #and if you're guilty that you only have white faves. it truly is on you to fix that #i never liked the 'breadt*be so white' thing bc it seemed like white fans using creators of colors as props to fight with other white fans #and that sucks
