I don't understand people that don't like Van Helsing to the point of calling it a "bad movie".

Is it perfect? No. Is anything? Also no.

Is it an interesting story? Yes. Is it fun to watch? Also yes.

Is the cast good and giving it their all? Yes.

Are the effects bad? No. Have they aged in 20 years? Yes. Beautifully.

Is the soundtrack bad? Fuck you, it's great.

"Oh, but good movies all have sequels and this is a one-off." No. That's not always true. Also, this has an animated prequel that Hugh Jackman, David Wenham, and Robbie Coltraine all lent their voices to.

Van Helsing is a good movie. The problem is that it's underappreciated. You can't change my mind.

Jenna Ellis, a Colorado native and former lawyer for then-President Donald Trump in 2020, will not be allowed to practice law in Colorado for at least three years under an agreement approved Tuesday by the Colorado Supreme Court. Ellis, who is from Longmont, had faced the possibility of total disbarment after pleading guilty in October to a felony in Georgia related to efforts to overturn Trump’s 2020 election loss there. Daysha Young, a prosecutor in that case, told the court there that Ellis had “aided and abetted” two of Trump’s attorneys as they falsely told Georgia state senators that tens of thousands of illegal votes were cast in the state.

Colorado’s governing body for attorneys previously had censured Ellis after she admitted making repeated false statements about the 2020 presidential election. In the agreement, lawyers for Ellis and the state of Colorado acknowledged that “while disbarment is the presumptive sanction for (Ellis’) misconduct, it is significant that her criminal culpability was due to her conduct as an accessory, not as a principal.” That, combined with her letter of remorse, may have saved her from total disbarment.

Colorado suspends the law license of election-denier Jenna Ellis for three years for her role in spreading lies about the 2020 elections in Georgia, meaning that she isn't allowed to practice law for at least 3 years.

I had a buddy from the Army hit me up today, we've not seen each other in 29 years and it was great to catch up. After we hung up I remembered an....incident..... Boys and girls there was a day before cell phones when you were either there or you just heard about it, I was there.

When I was in Panama, it's odd how many stories start this way. Anyway, when I was in Panama, we got a new PV2 in he and his roommate were at odds. The E-4 was pissed because every time this PV2 got off shift he'd help himself to whatever was in the fridge. He did not pay to replace it or buy his own shit.

I was off one day hanging out in the E-4's room when he jumps up and tells me I have to get out of the room right now and he starts laughing like Sherriff Rosco P. Coltrain as he's all but pushing me out the door. Like, 5 minutes later he's knocking on the door sweating and laughing telling me come back over to his room I've got to see something. So, I do, and nothing seems changed or out of place.

I keep asking the E-4 what was up, he just keeps saying "Wait. you'll see." after a bit the new PV2 comes in dumps his road gear on his rack and hits the fridge. He grabs the milk and as the E-4 is protesting about how that's not his and he did not pay for it the PV2 just shrugs, smirks and starts drinking from the carton.

That's when the bomb dropped.

The E-4, cold as any Clint Eastwood one liner looks the PV2 dead in the face and says.... "I jerked off in the milk."

For a long moment the air in the room stopped moving, the E-4 was not moving, the PV2 had a little twitch at the corner of his mouth and I'm just sitting there, jaw on the floor like an old West 12 O'clock high main street shoot out observer not believing my eyes.

Finally, the PV2 swallows the milk in his mouth and says meekly, "Bullshit!". The E-4 says "I told you what I was going to do if you fucked with my food again." I also rubbed my balls on unopened stuff in there." The PV2 set the milk down and he turned a sickly shade of fish belly white, turned and ran down the hall to the community bathroom where he barfted for some time.

The E-4 snapped me back to reality with is deep belly laugh. I was liked "Did you really....." But I knew the E-4 really well, made some downtown runs (Whore bars) with him in two countries, so I knew he was not bluffing.

The PV2 never ate or drank anything out of that fridge that he didn't put in there, and neither did I.
