Decided to get some writing done today one way or another, so currently I have all my WIPs open - all 12 14 of them - and the goal is to write 1-3 sentences in each of them (regardless of whether or not it's good, it makes sense, I'll delete later or not, etc.), then close one and write another 1-3 sentences in each, then keep on doing that. Sure, one of them will have only 1-3 sentences written, but I should write quite a good chunk in a few of them. Is this a good idea? Probably not. But it's new and different and I thought I'd give it a try, since nothing else seems to be working to get my writing motivation going.

Fic titles and fandoms under the Read More and I'll be updating this post with how many words I've written into each of them to hold myself accountable (though you can feel free to nag me about them as well, that helps).

EDIT: round 1 done! Now to decide which fic to close... Guess wherever I've written less it'll be.

Round 3 finally done. This actually helped, but I think I might focus in one or two next so I can get something finished. Still, more than I had written in a while, so it was fun.

Not to be sentimental on main but here’s a list of things I’m proud of from 2022 x

1) My Alevel results that led to me getting into my first choice university

2) not dropping out of said university

3) failing my driving test and not letting it send me into a spiral

4) connecting more with my angels, @tiaskofi @junosjukebox @artificialortega @comedychallenge as well as becoming closer with others, I truly love and appreciate all of you

5) making the decision to become clean for good

6) overcoming my fear of travelling alone

7) finishing hunger games au omg I forgot that was this year!!!

8) Starting my first novel

9) reading 100 books

And some resolutions (although I have far too many, I’m trying to do a 20 before 20)

1) Read Anna Karenina

2) Write a Novella

3) Get a poem published

4) Compliment people more

5) Learn to play a song on piano

Hi hun! I’m not sure if you’ve got the right person for this request, because I don’t have a coffee shop au (you might be thinking of @moonshotsx who has a lovely coffee shop au). But I’ll try my best! 

This is set in the fake dating au, pre-angst times.

“You should be asleep, babe.” It’s the first thing Jasmine thinks as she enters the coffee shop and sees Bosco bent over the counter, arms cradling their head. 

Their curls, unruly as ever, are splayed on the counter, still sticky with syrups and gritty with coffee grinds. It only reminds Jasmine of how she woke up this morning for rehearsal: Bosco beside her, their bangs flopping miserably out of their bun, strewn across the pillow. Their smile permanently soft—she hadn’t noticed it trailing for even a moment since that weekend. 

And like that morning—before Jasmine left for rehearsal—she reaches over the counter to push their hair to the side. She thinks for a minute, looking around to see who all was paying them a glance, before pulling Bosco closer, her hands on both their cheeks light, her lips meeting theirs even lighter. 

“Wish I was,” Bosco mutters as their lips draw away, before teasing, “but we can’t all still be on vacation like you.” 

“Please,” Jasmine says, settling into her usual stool beside the bar. “I wouldn’t call rest due to multiple hairline fractures a vacation.” 

“I’m not sure, princess.” They straightened up, reaching for Jasmine’s hand. Her left hand. Fingering that ring they’d found at some vintage store upstate just a few days ago, locked in the estate case, settled on a water-stained cloth beside a dripping strand of pearls. “I’ve heard from multiple sources that it was some romantic vacation…” 

Jasmine places her free hand over Bosco’s, halting their movements with her own grip. She almost had an inclination, really, a need to take their hand when they were headed for the sentimental. And judging from the look Bosco had, that toothy smile, those softened brows, they were reminiscing on that long weekend just as much as she was. 

“The crisp autumn air,” Bosco continued. “The cabin. The rain coming down in sheets. The wood-burning fireplace. It was, as I’ve been told, the pinnacle of romance.”

“Shut up,” Jasmine unclasps Bosco’s hand and gives their shoulder a shove. But she doesn’t mean it. Of course she couldn’t mean it—not when Bosco brought her back to that day her mind so easily wandered to. 

It wasn’t hard to convince Bosco of the plan. Really, it had been banging around in Jasmine’s head the whole way up to the cabin, down every winding road, at the road-side stand where they’d bought an apple pie with sweet crumbles on top, as Bosco pointed out small-town boutiques and cafes they’d passed. When Camden pointed out that the retreat seemed like a place serious girlfriends would go and possibly get engaged at, Jasmine thought that was what would finally get that girl off her back. 

An engagement. 

It was almost surprising how easily Bosco agreed as she’d stumbled through the proposition. They sat on the leather couch before the fireplace, the flames kissing the wood Bosco had just fed it. And Jasmine had her legs thrown over their lap, her foot up on a pillow, crochet blanket draped over them. 

Jasmine stuck her fingers through the holes in the stitching and asked “I know it’s a huge favor, but could I say you proposed to me?” 

“Of course,” Bosco said, before Jasmine could detail how they’d pretend for a month or so, only to eventually break up amicably. 

Bosco’s hand trailed from the small of her back to her shoulder, pulling Jasmine closer, flush against their chest. It was calm all around her, the scent of burning wood and Bosco’s perfume, the crackling sound laced with their heartbeat. And their ghost-quiet, “I’d propose to you.” 

She glances at that ring, given to her before that same fireplace, photographed against the mustard yellow leaves still clinging to the white ash trees, and now on her finger, held in Bosco’s hand. 

“You have a massive ego, even about fake romance,” Jasmine tries, but still finds herself fixated on the winding vines of the ring’s metal, the way they wrap around that crisp, slightly scratched clear stone. 

It was a mourning ring, the jeweler said. Diamond’s not real either, she went on. Probably from some cheap second husband. 

But it was gorgeous and felt right on her finger, so it became hers. And Bosco took its match, a thinner band of vines, only dotted with stones. 

“Sure the proposal was fake, but the romance…” Bosco trails off, raising Jasmine’s hand, pressing a kiss to it. 

“I’m not sure if I could say-” 

But the harsh ding of a bell catches Bosco’s words and drops them abruptly. Before they could think to finish, a woman, tall, foot tapping and mean, palms the counter. 

“I want a latte. Black cherry flavor. Almond milk.” It’s more of a bark than an order and it snaps Bosco into action, letting Jasmine’s hand fall against the counter, giving it a pat before they leave to ring the woman up. 

And as Bosco’s asking the woman if they’d like it hot or iced, Jasmine’s asking herself how Bosco would have finished their sentence.
