oh in that podcast? uh... lemme listen again...

yeah idk it's not really anything new I'd say? he's said basically all the same stuff in more interesting and extensive ways elsewhere. I think casey inevitably has a very 'well feuding is bad and helps nobody' point of view, has expressed that before in the past, does it here again, and he's also drawn a parallel between himself and marc on several occasions. which... well, of course there's similarities in terms of public discourse or whatever, but the parallel really falls apart whenever casey argues the feuds cost valentino. like, I do think it's sometimes important to just. keep in mind. it's interesting that casey draws this comparison in his mind but that doesn't necessarily means he's right about this. I'm not sure how you'd argue that starting a feud with casey cost valentino anything competitively? you can argue it didn't help him I guess, and then we can have a debate about the ins and outs of the 2008 season. we can also have an argument that in a hypothetical world where casey isn't ill in 2009, valentino doesn't break his leg and casey isn't on a piece of junk in 2010, and valentino isn't on a piece of junk in 2011-12, then actually maybe valentino sparking open animosity with casey COULD have cost him. but we don't know that! didn't happen! I wish we could have found out, but we never got the chance! as it stands, the tally on this is pretty straightforward: casey won the title when things were reasonably civil between them in 2007, and valentino took control of the following season at the exact moment he worsened the relationship between the pair of them in 2008. obviously, it's all more complicated than that and casey would of course argue laguna didn't negatively affect his subsequent performances... but it certainly didn't help them. like, at the very worst valentino escalating tensions in 2008 is a complete net neutral. after 2009, them being bitchy to each other every other tuesday was completely competitively irrelevant beyond maybe affecting how they approached occasionally fighting for a podium position. hey, maybe casey used that feud to fire himself up through sheer spite throughout the later stages of his career, but that doesn't actually support his anti-feud stance - it's basically the exact same thing as what valentino does. they're both quite similar in that regard! always so hungry to prove a point, to show how someone else is wrong. kinda half the point with this feuding business is to get yourself going, get yourself motivated, yeah. he straight up openly admits to using yamaha's repeat rejection of him as a way of giving himself motivation, and at the end of the day that's really not all that different?

anyway, what else does casey say... oh yeah, that him and the other aliens were already kinda prepared for this and had learned vale's tricks. that valentino had only been able to get into the minds of the previous generation. welllllll *wiggles hand* sure, I mean, he did clearly have to change his approach... he couldn't just use the exact same playbook to get to them, either on-track or off-track. but that's why he did change up the playbook... again, whether you want to believe valentino won his final two titles 'in the head' rather than just through pure pace kinda depends on how you assess the evidence, but it is at the very least a debate. and, y'know, it's always worth remembering that valentino's most important mind games with casey didn't happen in a press conference... it was on the track. and the on-track stuff really is just embedded in how valentino approaches winning. speaking of aliens, this is what dani and jorge have said:

like, valentino's entire approach to his riding, even to the way he's setting his bike up, is deliberately about directly fucking with you... he's not actually always trying to be faster than you as much as he's trying to give himself the tools to make your life miserable, to pressure you into mistakes, etc etc... and again, especially with casey (if anything because he was so mentally sturdy), the off-track stuff was really just window dressing. (I know they bicker a lot after 2009 but it's just so fundamentally irrelevant to actual on-track competition.) so you can be aware of those tricks, but it also doesn't necessarily help you when someone's being nasty to you on-track in a way you just fully do not enjoy. which is what it was like for casey! for casey, a lot of this comes back to the truly unpleasant context of how he was perceived by the public, how he was treated as mentally weak or 'broken' or whatever partly because he had the misfortune of coming up against a bloke who had the reputation for breaking rivals. I think it's quite natural to end up with a bit of a hardliner 'actually I've never been mentally affected by a result in my life' stance - and of course casey is a lot tougher than a lot of people give him credit for. that being said. sometimes your rivals affect you, shit happens, it's part of the game. it's fundamentally a nice idea to think that valentino's tactics weren't just morally wrong but also ineffective, which is kind of the appeal of this narrative, right? you want to believe you're above that, you want to believe you were adequately prepared and wise to valentino's tactic. it's unsurprising and understandable that casey does tend to tell the story that way, but again it's *wiggles hand* also hard to describe it as completely factual

uh. what else. oh I'm thrilled casey does canonically know valentino and marc were friends, he has said he wasn't following motogp too much during that time period so you couldn't be sure of that. does this mean anything? does it tell you anything? well, no, but it's just a pleasing thought to me. I like that. oh also 'provoking particularly aggressive riders isn't a good idea' is kinda a funny take from casey? like, he of all people would hate the idea of being cowed by someone's reputation like that... casey's right that provoking fast riders can potentially be dangerous, but y'know I do think that's probably not news to anyone almost nine years later. um. that's all I've got I think

As mentioned, they used to date back at high-school. Though things happened and Jiao Yue had to left him. But why?...

As I've said, Syaoran isn't the perfect kind of man most people think he is because he is actually manipulative, controlling, and possessive towards her before. Back when they were still dating, whenever Syaoran didn't get what he wanted, he tended to let out his anger or frustration towards Jiao Yue. When Syaoran does something wrong to Jiao Yue, he gaslights her that it wasn't his fault. He also constantly uses emotional manipulation to get what he wants from her (validation, trust, materialistic items, etc.) Their relationship lasted for about 2 years and a half, starting from he was 18 to 20.

During the first year of their relationship, Jiao Yue and Syaoran had an ideal relationship. They were both comfortable with each other, safe and happy too. But it changed when Jiao Yue tells Syaoran about her true identity (her being a senri) and that she may have hunt people before and killed them when she was venting to him. Syaoran felt a bit uneasy though he didn't want to show he was scared so starting from that day, he shows little signs of dominance towards their relationship and would also begin to get toxic towards her. Syaoran would constantly say things like:

"You think you're better than me?" (Dominance assertion)

"I gave you everything I had!" (Guilt-tripping)

"Are you going to cheat on me?" (Making her look like she's the toxic)

"How could you say that! It was never my fault! If you didn't brought that discussion up then we wouldn't be fighting, you started this!" (Gaslighting)

Jiao Yue finally ends up leaving him when she also caught him cheating on her with another girl. Of course, she also decided to delete and remove all contact she has on him and had gained a lot of issues from now and then. (Trust Issues, Attachment-Issues, Being Emotionally Unstable, Constantly needing Reassurance, Etc.) But now at least he is out from her life..... for now.

Something about Bagi makes my brain go brr. Here's some lost memories a brother and sister might share (cw/tw: blood/violence/death mention, general Cellbit fuckery. Singular mention of throwing up.)

Cellbit's hair was not that long yet, and he kept insisting as such. Bagi wanted to attempt to put his hair up so it didn't fall into his face when he was reading. The tiny argument didn't last long, as soon enough Cellbit was sitting in front of his sister, both sat on the floor. They were in front of the tiny television that also sat on the floor, which was currently on a news channel. The news anchor claimed that were no leads in the large string of murders in the area. Both siblings laughed at the television as if it were a comedy. It was obvious that it was them. If you looked at the clues, the ones they didn't leave. Maybe they just needed better detectives. Maybe the duo were better detectives.

Bagi couldn't sleep, and judging by the lack of snoring coming from Cellbit, neither could he. Their run-down apartment was only one bedroom, so they shared as they always have. Bagi laid on the slightly nicer double mattress, which sat on top of some wooden pallets they stole. Cellbit currently laid on the old worn-out twin mattress they still owned, which lay on the floor. Maybe that's why neither of them could get any sleep. Maybe it was the fact that their thoughts raced too quickly to get any calm. Cellbit finally noticed his sister staring at him and offered to go get them coffee. At three thirty a.m., the witching hour they joked, they both got their coffee. Bagi sat on the countertop while Cellbit just leaned against it.

Cellbit may not seem like it, but he does appreciate routine. Dinner was one of those routines, even though they ate at different times. It became easier for Bagi to eat second, as they could steal cash off whatever body lay cold at their feel and pay for her food. She didn't eat like Cellbit did. Bagi tried to eat like her brother did once, but that ended up with her throwing up into a dumpster in an alley not too long after she ate. She decided then and there to become vegetarian, though she never stopped Cellbit from eating the way he did. Maybe Cellbit just enjoyed the soft moment of cleaning up in the car afterward. Maybe he was relieved to know both of them could eat. Bagi's meal consisted of snacks from the gas station, and of course, Cellbit just had to steal a bit. She yelled at him, clearly trying not to laugh. He didn't try to hide his own laughter.

Bagi was never the best at running, but right now, she had to. It didn't take her long to realize that Cellbit wasn't behind her. They had been planning to leave the country together, but apparently police detectives are smarter than either of the two gave them credit for. The siblings were still better, though. It felt wrong for Bagi to be on her own. She never really had been alone before. She found comfort in the highly publicized trial. Maybe she also belonged in the courtroom. Maybe her brother didn't belong there. It really wasn't long without Cellbit, but seeing her brother again felt amazing. Escaping prison was just his style. It felt great handing him clothes stolen off some random businessman as she put full force down on the gas of the equally stolen car.

Cellbit couldn't believe he finally had a lead on this case that's been bothering him for a while now. Something about it made his brain feel itchy. Bagi had the same feeling as she looked over the evidence and information with him. The years of therapy had both of the siblings confident that weren't chasing something that wasn't there. The case lead had led to a cargo ship, and Cellbit was determined to check it out. Bagi stayed behind to work on a different case. Maybe it was fate. Maybe Cellbit shouldn't have taken a random case from somebody who wouldn't show their face. Bagi was alone again. This time, she was more used to it.

Bagi barely understands why she's on this (prison) island to begin with, aside from the fact she was chosen to come here. She really doesn't understand why this stranger (his name is Cellbit, apparently) looks a lot like her. Bagi doesn't appreciate the déjà vu she gets from looking at him either. Cellbit doesn't understand why this new member of the island (her name is Bagi) looks like him. He doesn't like the feeling of déjà vu he gets when she speaks. Maybe they knew each other before the island. Maybe they knew each other in a previous life.

It feels like you’ve always been living on the ocean, just floating on top of the waves, accepting the rocking like the beat of your heart, easy on your feet. You practically grew up on a boat, working your way up, earning respect with your eagerness and your love towards the vast sea. 

So, it’s no wonder when the captain assigned you to show the newbie around, and of course implied in that order is to test him, to see if he is made to exist between all the sailors and the salt. 

The first time you spot it, you can’t help but marvel at the color of his hair, it reminds you of some sort of seaweed floating in the ocean, but you won’t take that as a sign. Even though you have to admit that his walk is pretty good for someone new, allegedly someone new. You walk up to him and only tell him to follow you, nothing more, nothing less, you have to see if he respects the hierarchy of this place. No need to allow someone who refuses authority to be on the ship. 

And he does, barely grumbling as you just walk around, telling him where everything is, where everything belongs, who all these people on this ship are, and what his future job will be. And not once does he complain, even if you do try your best to rile him up, but nothing seems to faze him. You only think that this attitude may be better, but someone hotheaded would do a lot if it came to a fight. So you mention him hiding if something were to happen while they were on sea. 

The reaction is immediate. “What? No way am I hidin’, I have a sword and–”, he finally starts talking back, and you almost appreciate the creative insults he sprinkles throughout his complaint. 

You pat him on the back. “Sure, do whatever you want, big guy. Get comfortable, because this is your last day of vacation,” you tell him indirectly that he has been accepted onto board, and just walk away, leaving him to his own, as you still wanted to make sure he had even listened to you in the first place. 

After that you don’t expect to see much of him, but you do. By some kind of fate you end up bumping into him more than not, starting with small talk, a tease, a grin, until you both spend all your free time just talking about nothing and everything. And yet you have the feeling you still have no idea who he truly is. But you’re not someone to dig into someone’s past or secrets, everyone deserves to hide things occasionally. Who said you don’t have some stuff to hide? Like the way excitement and joy seems to course through your veins at the mere prospect of seeing him, of making him laugh. This is something you won’t say out loud in the near future, maybe never…

That is until the ship gets caught in a pretty bad storm. You’ve been yelling orders and running around, trying to keep the place afloat, trying to keep everyone on board. At first you were so careful, so careful to avoid slipping over the water drowning your feet with each wave hitting the planks, soaking everyone to the bone. But the more the desperation grew, the more erratic everything has gotten, the more careless you had gotten. 

So, the inevitable happens. Something every sailor should expect to happen at least once in their lifetime of travel, you lose your footing. And slip. 

With this slip, your whole life flashes in front of your eyes. You can swim, of course, but will the waves even allow you enough control over your body to find out? With a last attempt, you try to hold onto the railings, but just as easily your feet had slipped away, so do your fingers. 

A last gasp of air. Before everything turns dark. Before you lose control and the waves start throwing you around like a mere plaything. You aren’t sure how long you can hold your breath in a situation like this. 

But you don’t have to think for too long, as you feel your grasp around your lungs fade, and you almost give up. Until you spot a familiar green mop of hair. One which seems to be getting closer and closer, until he finally stops in front of you. All frown and worry.

You share the same worry as you let your gaze hover over his face, along his neck, only to discover slits, almost like gills… The tail catches your attention, and you almost gasp before remembering being under water. 

That can’t be, these were only supposed to be stories, simple legends told to kids before going to sleep. The Finfolk. People able to change between the form of a human and the form of a fish at pure will. Something out of fiction, fairy tales. But it seems like you were mistaken, because the proof is currently floating in front of your face. 

Slowly he stretches his hand, hesitancy lying underneath that motion, like he’s afraid you might turn him away. But rather than afraid, you are mystified, you have never noticed how well the blue color of the ocean suits him. 

You take his hand in yours and let him guide you back to the surface, where you finally are able to breathe freely, despite the waves occasionally pushing you under again. But he never lets go of your hand, and you don’t plan on letting go of his hand either. Together you two will survive, and together you two will best this storm. 

And the slight pressure of your palm against his a silent promise, a promise to stay by his side, a promise to trust him as much as he trusted you. A promise just between you two. And whatever had happened, you had seen something else, had experienced something else. Shall these legends stay legends, and shall these whispers turn into more.

+Listen, I don't want to overthink the Q&A too much, but my brain won't let me be normal about some things. The birthday thing caught my eye. Supposedly, some of the dates are important, but the rest are meant to be spread out, right? But Veronika and David's birthdays are, like, two days apart, so does that mean they're important? Same with Ace and Arei (ike three days), but at least Ace's birthday is Halloween so it's not hard to figure out. Uhh I haven't really seen this one before at all? The only interactions I can remember are the ones from limlife when Bigb jumped in between of Scott and Pearl after he hits her (my heart went brr) and when they killed eachother in the finale and scotts computer had a fit lol.

but yeah I suppose you could make a hateship out of this?? or if you think they could be best friends then you'd have to do some explaining and put them in situations for it to work methinks.

This one's just not talked about enough imo. I love angsty grian headcanons to death and like.. Idk I think it's sweet how even though he doesn't really associate super hard with Bigb, he still goes running to him when times to tough. I like to think it's cus Bigb's just this really kind figure who Grian knows he can go to for comfort when the chaos of everything else gets to be a bit too much.

He also kind of tries to pull Bigb into that chaos but it never works cus Bigb's got the personality of one of those soft warm towels they give you at hotels. He has his share of mischief in him but he's not going to be going around murdering people with tnt minecarts anytime soon.

It's like whenever Grian gets to the point of "I don't want to play the game anymore!" he goes to Bigb to sulk and thats very cute to me.

It was super hard btw to choose just one ship for this omg but uhh lightning round Bigb is also Pearl's (new) bestie, Lizzie's bestie, Ren's bitch wife and Cleo thinks they had a really bad break up while Bigb didn't realise they were supposed to be dating.

I understand if you prefer to not talk about it and keep it bottled up- I am like that too alot. But if it's bothering you to the point we can't talk on the same wavelength, there's a problem.

ship dynamics: RP wise, I am usually open to shipping my muses with other characters. Sometimes, we might be already shipping them together after we discuss it in dms. Sometimes, I want to see how they interact first and see if the chemistry is there. I can't make any promises their feelings will be mutual if I don't feel the chemistry there.

Nothing else comes to mind for now.

MUSE PREFERENCES: I lean toward muses who are calm and collected in general. They can be either flirtatious (scheming) or stoic (with some temper/misunderstood to be cold). PLOTS OR MEMES : I prefer memes because it's a nice ice-breaker. They're like prompts that makes the brain juices go brr, and it gives me a chance to talk to the sender about it. Plotting takes time for me, and it makes me a little nervous. It makes me feel like I need to have a well-thought out idea for people to be interested enough to bounce ideas with and not be confused.

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES: I am both! I tend to write alot, but no more than a few paragraphs. I don't mind short replies as long as it's not one-liners (unless this is a text message going back and forth). I need context before deciding how to reply.

BEST TIME TO WRITE : I don't get on my laptop until after 6PM and even then, unless I really force myself/try to get into the mood, I'm too tired to do anything other than chill. On the weekends, it's usually after 12PM I can try to sit down (if I'm not going outside) and make progress.

1. Who is/are my comfort characters?

Well, not to state the obvious, but Ava Silva is my newest and fluffiest comfort character. She really just has it all, she checks all of my boxes. I'm rotating her in my head but I feel like I live in hers sometimes.

Sansa Stark is also my highest of blorbos, and I will protect her from everything and everyone.

Mercy Thompson is my veteran comfort character. I've loved her since middle school, and she continues to hold up today.

Finally, my only real OC, Shay, also counts. My beloved esoteric sea god, she’s actually my idealized self. I have lore and backstory for days on her, I just rarely have the space to talk about her.

4. Which cryptid do I believe in?

The Kraken, absolutely. Megafauna all the way, baby. Also, to a lesser degree, Leviathan. I don’t know what it is/was, but I believe it was out there at some point.

22. What type of person are you? Hmm. Someone struggling with insecurities and a need for external validation. Someone who has several serious flaws they are trying to control. Someone who wants to do right by other people and show compassion even when it's difficult. So I guess I'm just like everybody else, eh?

Yes! In fact, I think I’ve gained more f/os this year than I have any other year. My top ones are Eleanor, Throttle, and Caraway, but ofc I care about them all <3

2. if you did add any new F/Os to your list this year, was there someone who you absolutely didn't expect would end up becoming an F/O? if so, did it take you a long time to realize you like them, or did they take your heart by storm?

Both Eleanor and Caraway are two that I did not expect to fall for. I sort of realized I liked Eleanor right away, but I didn’t realize my feelings for Caraway until I finished HGS.

8. in which ways did your F/O(s)/selfshipping help you this year?

In short, early 2022 was one of the hardest times of my life. My f/os helped me feel less alone, and helped to comfort me in my lowest times. I’m doing a lot better now.

11. has an F/O inspired you to pick up a new hobby/interest/habit this year

Funnily enough, I actually got into motorbikes bc of Throttle. I’m not even really sure what it is about them, they just make my brain go brr, you know? In fact, my dad has rented a bike and he’s gonna show me how to ride it in a few days :DDDD

14. did you find out anything new and surprising about yourself through selfshipping this year?

As a matter of fact, yes. Through my selfships, particularly with Jay, I figured out I was genderfluid. I used Zale as an outlet to explore what that meant for me, and it was the first time I felt like I had a mlm selfship. I’ve been using my ships to explore/express my queerness in general, and I’m very grateful for it.
