So, fun fact about the skinned FurReal pony - I got the ID wrong, but only because Smores and Butterscotch's necks are semi-fixed in position, and I didn't think to google if the image I had of Butterscotch was mirrored.
The skinned horse IS Butterscotch, not Smores, but all of that's besides the point.
The reason I'm making this post is that y'all need to know that they skinned Butterscotch to turn her into a flamethrower

#not horse of the day#i really did think the furreal pony flamethrower was common knowledge#but no one mentioned it in the notes so? maybe not??

a minor headcanon that I will die defending is that reigen initially assumed that mob’s supposed “psychic powers” were just how he rationalized his autism to himself. like here’s an obviously autistic kid, one reigen clocks immediately because he’s, well, reigen, and he’s talking about extra sensory perception and having powers he can’t control, powers that are scary. obviously, he assumes, this is something the kid picked up from his parents, a way for him to rationalize his alienation from other children— that no, you’re not “different”, you’re special (not even going into the parents who think their autistic children are like, aliens) and the other kids can see that you’re special and so they treat you like you’re weird and creepy and they don’t invite you to play and they whisper behind your back but it’s fine, because one day they’ll see how special you really are. and adult autistic reigen arataka, who was also probably-definitely bullied as a child, decides to nip that thought in the bud and gives the whole spiel, that no, “psychic powers” (autism) don’t make you special, and yes, they do make you different, and that’s fine because everyone’s different, and at the end of the day you have agency and you get to decide the kind of person you’ll be, so choose to be a kind one, and he sees this kid hanging off his every word as he tells him the kind of stuff he wishes someone had told him when he was so little and alone, and he mentally pats himself on the back and hypes himself up for another cigarette.
and then the kid makes a teacup float in front of him and he’s like oh. damn. can you kill ghosts
#mob psycho 100#reigen arataka#shigeo kageyama#i find it very interesting how espers are treated in universe as like. not really cryptids but also not really something normal either.#like mob doesn’t really hide his abilities and he doesn’t really get singled out for them (mostly because he doesn’t use them casually)#so they’re obviously known to exist by the general populace. but reigen is also genuinely surprised to learn that espers besides mob exist#and did believe that baby mob was trying to prank him when he called himself an esper so like. exactly how common knowledge are they?#saw someone on Reddit posit that they’re known about but ignored because it’s funnier that way and no joke that’s probably the actual answe

It's times like these, when Grian refers to snails as molluscs and gastropods, that I remember he has a degree in marine biology. In retrospect this makes the fishing arc funnier I think.
#me vibing#hermitcraft#grian#not that people outside marine bio don't know snails are molluscs#it's just. not the world's most common knowledge i feel like#so it unlocked the 'hermit real world achievements' memory file in my brain

so much of “queerness” is really just consumption, and i think june makes it especially clear.
buy tickets to a shitty festival, buy merchandise, watch this tv show, listen to this artist, support queer small business— that is what modern day western queerness has become. it all comes back to wringing out every last note and coin from working class queer people. we do not have unity, as class divides and transphobia has turned any sense of community into a fine paste. yes, we’re pit against each other, but it’s important to recognize that we’ve rapidly gotten to a point where we simply do not want the same things. we cannot unite under the formerly common slogan of “rights for all”, when racism, sexism, transphobia, biphobia, so on so forth, has been allowed to run rampant in queer spaces. this is no coincidence!
the “queer community” exists, not as a bulwark of lgbtq+ people fighting for their rights, for the rights of their siblings, but as a tool wielded by corporations to gain favor for a month, make extra profit, and by the ruling class to sew division.
and this sewing of discord is not out of random malice, not out of religious fervor, but out of a need to maintain total domination of the bourgeoise. the queer community will forever be successfully divided in this sense, as long as the majority of queer people fail to be cognizant of the class divide amongst ourselves, and even moreso, fail to recognize a collective class consciousness, furthermore failing to see that the only way to truly secure rights for the entire queer community, is a complete destruction of the bourgeois state.
homonationalists and social chauvinists show their colors in full, celebrating their rights (only nationally, of course) that are about as secure as a broken lock under the dictatorship of the bourgeoise. they can forget for a weekend, a month, longer, about the queer people suffering from their country’s imperialist attacks— fuck you, i got mine.
capitalism absorbs these formerly radical movements by depoliticizing them, and what was once a threat to bourgeois domination, has now become a market category. pride is not a political struggle for as long as we do not consciously work to build unity amongst the working class. you have more in common with a working class homophobe than you do a trans rep from lockheed martin.
the business selling you mass produced nylon flags is not your queer sibling. the gay guy closeted in the military is not someone to sympathize with. these people are, ideologically and materially, part of the oppressor class.
if you care about queer rights, you will go out and get organized. this june is not a time of celebration, as the fight is not, has not, and will never be over for as long as the bourgeoise exerts its control over the proletariat.
PRIDE IS NOT A RIOT. join a communist group and do something for once ffs
#and of course this is all pretty common knowledge im just saying things#a lot of my analysis ends up being fairly surface level but. idk if someone wants to springboard off this please do

deeply important details I found while rereading the raven boys:
- gansey’s pizza order is one large deep dish, half sausage and half avocado
- a week prior to trb, ronan and adam had taken turns dragging each other on a dolly behind the bmw
- gansey’s burger order is no sauce, no pickle
- adam blushes when he gets warm
- the 300 fox way psychic hotline is one number off from a male escort company
- gansey and ronan have done donuts in the monmouth parking lot frequently enough to leave marks
- there are several sports illustrated swimsuit editions mixed in with gansey’s books in monmouth
- ronan plays tennis
- the lynch brothers received “a decade of obscure irish music instrument lessons” before niall died
- someone wrote BEELZEBUB and ronan’s number in red sharpie in the bathroom at nino’s
- when adam shows up after ronan’s fight with declan in the nino’s parking lot, he’s bouncing a red ball with a spongebob logo. this is never explained.
- gansey’s helicopter drink of choice is apple juice
- gansey is, apparently, excellent at parallel parking (according to himself)
- among gansey’s many doodles in his glendower notebook is a man chasing a car
#most of these are common fandom knowledge I'm sure but I needed to put them all down in one place#trc#the raven cycle#the raven boys#forest.txt

Just said something about this on twitter but out of everything in 3rd semester that’s meant to show the contrast between akechis behavior pre-engineroom and post-engineroom I honestly think this specific change in sprite expression does it best

The first one looks directly at you because he makes this face when he’s trying to gain sympathy points / connect with whoever he’s talking to. Okay yeah he uses it when he was talking about his mother at leblanc and the bathhouse which definitely drew from a place real sadness but it was still a calculated part of his attempts to endear himself. And the second one is the exact opposite. It barely shows up and when it does it’s only for 1-2 (?) dialogue boxes a piece. It’s the expression he makes when he can’t immediately hide his emotions. The quick turning away / avoidance of eye contact is so you Don’t connect with the little hints of genuineness that manage to slip out for the two seconds that they last. Maybe so he doesn’t have to see your face if you do? Anyway. TDLR I just think it’s nice to focus less on his crazy talk and meangirlisms and acknowledge that they’re 100% also being used to rein in the fact that he’s progressively losing his grip on masking “the real akechi” from sight 100% of the time. At every point in the game he only wants his real self to be seen in tiny, entirely controlled sneak peeks, and only when he thinks it benefits him. agh

I just figured out what made Spamton and Jevil go insane
SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 4
It was the Prophecy.
Let's start with Jevil, which mostly turned into talking about Seam, since it's hard to get a coherent word out of Jevil himself.
Talking to King in chapter 4 and picking "Jester" nets you the following dialogue:
The phrasing here is what I specifically want to point out, because it's framed less like Jevil gave King instructions on how to rise to power, and more like Jevil was PREDICTING King's rise to power.
But like most things Jevil, our bombshells when it comes to him come from Seam.
This dialogue should be familiar, it's one of the first things we learned about Jevil outside of his bossfight, and our main hint connecting him to Gaster. Him saying things that both did and didn't make sense to me suggests the Prophecy, but that may also be confirmation bias.
But it's THIS dialogue that I really wanted to highlight here.
Seam's worldview is EXTREMELY nihilistic. While they don't outright discourage you from going on your adventures, they seem amused at the fact that you're even trying at all. On top of this, Seam has a lot of dialogue about stuff they could not reasonably know about, either because it happened nowhere near them, or it hasn't happened yet.
They knows about the super bosses and the Shadow Crystals you can collect from them:
They know about Mettaton designing Spamton NEO's body:
They know about the Knight ambushing you at the end of Chapter 3, and how you need the Shadow Mantle to beat it (unless you're a tryhard):
And they know about the Old Man as well:
(There's one more piece of dialogue that's relevant here, but I'm going to save that for when I talk about Spamton.)
This is a quality that Seam shares with Jevil, as Jevil neatly predicts Queen's appearance in Chapter 2 if you defeat him with violence:
All of this combined, to me, implies that the "strange words" Jevil told Seam were, in fact, the Prophecy he got from Gaster. The reason Seam is so nihilistic is because they already know exactly what's going to happen... specifically, the Roaring is coming, and there's nothing they can do to stop it.
There's only one thing that seems to genuinely surprise them: defeating the Knight in Chapter 3.
...which later prompts this dialogue.
The fact that we did something Seam, someone who knows the Prophecy, genuinely wasn't expecting, gives them hope. Because that could mean that the Prophecy isn't set in stone, and the Roaring may yet be averted.
Now lets move on to Spamton, because Chapter 3 gave us a LOT more to work with there. Spamton's backstory specifically gave me the idea for this theory, because a lot of things about it start making sense when viewed through this lens.
Spamton was an unsuccessful salesman who dreamed of making it big. One day, he was contacted by someone (Gaster) on the phone, and suddenly all of his businesses skyrocketed, becoming so successful that he got a room in Queen's mansion. However, one day the person who contacted him stopped calling, and his entire life came crashing down around him to the point that he ended up homeless and living in a dumpster.
This didn't make sense to me at first. If Gaster was just giving him business advice, taking that away shouldn't have allowed his empire to collapse overnight. What makes more sense is that Gaster was telling Spamton parts of the Prophecy, specifically the parts on how he was going to make it big. All Spamton had to do is follow Gaster's advice, and he'd become the BIG SHOT he'd always wanted to be.
As a bit of extra proof for this, here's seemingly random bit of dialogue from Seam.
Someone who knows the Prophecy using it to see the future in order to beat the Addisons specifically? That seems like a pretty obvious hint.
Chapter 3 also tells us more about Spamton's relationship with Tenna. Spamton and Tenna used to be business partners, with Tenna wanting to learn what made Spamton a BIG SHOT in the first place. But then...
It's implied that this is when Spamton stopped receiving calls. So why exactly did Gaster stop calling?
Because Tenna is in the Prophecy. Specifically, the part about him getting cut down by the Knight (I'd add a screenshot here but I cannot fucking find it, it is in there, trust me).
Gaster was most likely aware that, if Tenna found out about his pre-destined death, he'd try to find a way to prevent it, or at the very least get better at watching his back. So, he called Spamton to say he was cutting him off, and without the Prophecy giving him advice, everything came crashing down around him.
As a result, Spamton is obsessed with finding a way to learn more about the Prophecy, and how to use it to predict the future again. He wants to be big enough to see past the darkness obscuring that knowledge from him.
As such, he recruits Kris into helping him see past the bounds of reality and find the full Prophecy. That's what [Hyperlink Blocked] is. It's literally a broken hyperlink to the Prophecy.
But if you do the Weird Route, you're likely going directly against the Prophecy. Things that are specifically pre-ordained do not happen in the Weird Route - most clearly seen with Ralsei's reaction to Susie and Noelle not going on their ferris wheel ride.
Ralsei has full knowledge of the Prophecy, and is understandably freaking the fuck out when he realizes we have just done something that directly contradicts it.
And what does Spamton have to say about your Weird Route antics?
We don't need his Prophecy anymore, because we're making our own.
But that does leave a question though. If Spamton was destined to make it big, why did he need Gaster's help? Why did his empire collapse as soon as Gaster stopped helping, if his success was pre-determined? Why did Gaster need to tell Jevil how to get King into power, and to get him to worship the Knight?
Why does Gaster's involvement specifically seem to change the Prophecy?
Because Gaster is the one writing it.
#should also mention that the prophecy is not common knowledge among darkners#cause the knight is a very common figure from the prophecy that multiple characters bring up as if its new information#like its just the superbosses + ralsei and seam that know it#deltarune#deltarune spoilers#deltarune chapter 4#spamton#jevil#wd gaster
