alright people i desperately need a mouse that
has a plastic surface scrollwheel (both G502s I've had eventually started corroding)
lasts without the scrollwheel starting to jitter or switches breaking for a reasonable amount of time
is relatively comfortable as a right-handed claw gripper
doesn't have stupid gamery shapes and grooves and textures for grime to accumulate in (looking at you corsair)
can be taken apart for cleaning and repairs without bullshit(my razer mamba elite's scrollwheel keeps deteriorating and I DON'T EVEN KNOW IF THE SCREWS ARE UNDER THE BIG STICKER OR THE PADS)
is wired
weight mostly doesn't matter but i prefer medium-heavy
i am so fucking tired of having to buy a new mouse every year or so cause some cheap scrollwheel or click sensor goes fucky and the screws to open it are more hidden than the US nuclear codes to the point where if you open the mouse you've basically ruined it. i need something i can do maintenance on myself
#seriously the scrollwheel thing is vital I've lost several mice now to shitty jittery wheels and I'm so tired#computer mouse#computer mice#mice#computer peripherals#gaming peripherals

Yikes - Just what my mouse doesn't need
A shaky rumor claims that Apple is prototyping a new Magic Mouse design for the Mac that's more ergonomic — but which users will also be able to talk to.
What a truly awful idea. Can you imagine? So Apple goes and fixes the stupid charging port location on the Magic Mouse–then follow up by adding voice features to it. So we can just go from bad to arguably much worse, and never end up with a decent mouse from Apple–since the Mighty Mouse which was at least okay. This is one of those rumors I just hope proves to be wrong.
This rumor just makes me think of the scene from the IT crowd Season 1 Episode 1:
Mr Reynholm taking to his mouse to control his computer. 🤣

Battery Life: While wireless keyboards require batteries, they often have long battery life. Some models can last months or even years on a single set of batteries, depending on usage.
Conclusion
The choice between wired and wireless keyboards ultimately depends on your specific needs and preferences. If you prioritize stability, low latency, and cost-efficiency, a wired keyboard is an excellent choice. On the other hand, if you value freedom of movement, portability, and a clutter-free workspace, a wireless keyboard may be more suitable.
Consider your usage scenarios and determine what features matter most to you. Some users even opt for a hybrid approach, using a wired keyboard for intensive tasks and a wireless one for convenience when needed. Whichever you choose, both wired and wireless keyboards have their merits and will continue to be essential tools in the world of computing.

Everybody knows mice have tails, and those that don't must be something else. But then would you say that a mouse amputee was another species?
Computer mice don’t have tails anymore. We shouldn’t call them mice we should call them hamsters.

How Smoking Causes Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD): A Deep Dive Into the Damaging Effects
Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD), also known as Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), is a serious circulatory condition that severely affects the arteries outside of the heart and brain. Among all risk factors, smoking is the most preventable and most dangerous contributor to PVD. This article explores in detail how smoking causes peripheral vascular disease, the physiological changes involved, symptoms, consequences, and treatment strategies.
What is Peripheral Vascular Disease?
Peripheral Vascular Disease refers to the narrowing or blockage of blood vessels that carry blood to the limbs, most commonly the legs. This restriction reduces blood flow, leading to pain, numbness, and in severe cases, tissue death and amputation.
Atherosclerosis: The Core Culprit
At the heart of PVD is atherosclerosis, a condition where fatty deposits (plaques) build up on artery walls. This buildup restricts or blocks blood flow. Smoking plays a direct role in accelerating atherosclerosis, making it one of the top triggers of PVD.
The Vicious Effects of Smoking on Blood Vessels
Smoking harms blood vessels through multiple mechanisms, each of which increases the likelihood and severity of PVD:
1. Nicotine-Induced Vasoconstriction
Nicotine, the addictive component of tobacco, causes the narrowing of blood vessels (vasoconstriction). This increases blood pressure and decreases the amount of oxygen reaching the limbs.
2. Carbon Monoxide Toxicity
Inhaled carbon monoxide from cigarette smoke binds with hemoglobin in red blood cells more effectively than oxygen does. This reduces oxygen delivery to tissues, accelerating tissue ischemia, a hallmark of PVD.
3. Endothelial Dysfunction
Smoking damages the endothelial lining of blood vessels, which plays a critical role in vascular tone and blood clotting. Damaged endothelium leads to inflammation and plaque buildup, reducing arterial flexibility and flow.
4. Increased Blood Viscosity
Tobacco smoke increases platelet aggregation and the thickness of the blood, leading to an increased risk of clot formation. Clots in narrowed arteries can completely block blood flow, leading to critical limb ischemia.

5. Disruption of Lipid Profiles
Smoking decreases HDL (good cholesterol) and increases LDL (bad cholesterol) and triglycerides, further contributing to arterial plaque formation and obstruction of peripheral arteries.
Symptoms of Smoking-Induced PVD
People who smoke and develop PVD often exhibit the following symptoms:
Claudication: Cramping or pain in the legs during walking or physical activity.
Coldness in the lower leg or foot, especially when compared to the other leg.
Sores or ulcers on the feet or legs that heal slowly or not at all.
Discoloration of the skin or shiny skin on the legs.
Weak or absent pulses in the legs or feet.
These symptoms often progress gradually and may be mistaken for aging or other conditions, delaying diagnosis and worsening prognosis.
PVD in Smokers: Who Is Most at Risk?
Though PVD can affect anyone, smokers are up to four times more likely to develop the condition. Certain groups are particularly vulnerable:
Long-term smokers with a high daily consumption.
People over 50 years of age who have a history of tobacco use.
Individuals with diabetes, hypertension, or high cholesterol, all of which are worsened by smoking.
Those with a family history of vascular disease.
