Blog 16: Closing the Chapter: Hello, SDE, Goodbye 🫶🏻

This week marked the conclusion of our first semester, a period that seemed to pass in the blink of an eye. With final exams piling up and deadlines looming, the days felt like a blur, each one busier than the last.
While most courses wrapped up with exams, Sir Carl chose a different approach. He decided to excuse us from taking a final test, instead encouraging us to dedicate our efforts to polishing our project manuscript and system application. Though this gesture eased some of the pressure, the amount of work still felt overwhelming.
We had our initial consultation with Sir Carl about our manuscript, which revealed just how much more effort was needed to meet the requirements. The clock was ticking, and the Saturday deadline felt both far away and dangerously close. When the day arrived, fueled by determination and collaboration, we managed to complete both the system and the manuscript. Exhaustion was inevitable by the end of it all—not only for us but also for Sir Carl, whose own energy seemed to wane after the intense week.
Reflecting on this course, it stands out as one of the most memorable experiences of my college life. It wasn’t just about learning concepts; it was a journey of personal growth. From the enthusiasm at the beginning of the semester to the struggles of deadlines and the satisfaction of crossing the finish line, it has been a transformative experience. More than anything, it has reinforced the importance of perseverance, collaboration, and seeing things through to the end, no matter how challenging they seem.
As this semester comes to a close, I’m filled with gratitude for the lessons learned and the bonds formed along the way. Here’s to moving forward, equipped with newfound resilience and ready to take on whatever comes next.
