Kunst im und mit dem Computerspiel - Medientransformation am Beispiel des Computergames "RoboCop Rogue City" (2023)

Farbige Screenshots (RGB) aus der virtuellen Welt sind von ihren vektorisierten Bild-Layern überlagert. Im Ergebnis sehen die Motive aus wie kolorierte Schwarz-Weiß-Kopien (Set 02).

In der Bildkreation der Grafik-Serie kommt zunächst aber nur der reine Vektor-Layer zur Anwendung und Modifikation (Farbigkeit, Vektorknotenreduktion, Variationen in der Überlagerung mit unterschiedlichen Ebenen Modi).

Zu einem früheren Zeitpunkt verfolgte ich einen anderen Ansatz mit dem bildspendendem Medium Computerspiel. Screenshot Motive aus einem Racing Game ("DTM Race Driver 2", 2004 oder "Obscure", 2004; s. Abb.) ließen sich aufgrund eines optimalen Bildkontrastes recht gut digital vektorisieren. Davon erzeugte ich über DIN-A-4 Stückelungen eine Strichzeichnung, die wiederum zu einem größeren Bildformat montiert wurden. Angeheftet an eine Fensterscheibe konnte ich mit einem aufgelegten Malpapier eine dünne Vorzeichnung anfertigen. Die Füllung wurde mit schwarzer Acrylfarbe realisiert. Im Ergebnis war ein im Vergleich zu den kleinen digitalen Screenshots ein größeres Bild nun als "künstlerisches" Unikat entstanden.

Die aktuelle Serie konzentriert sich auf den digitalen Charakter, im Ergebnis sollen aufgrund der Vektordaten aber digitale Artprints (ca. 70 x 100 cm) davon möglich sein.
