Greg Bot FNAF au (Animatronic Gregory)

Fazbear Entertainment decides to create an army of human-looking animatronics called Greg Bots (human children of different genders, personalities, ethnicities, ranging from 11-19)

2 or 3 of them are introduced at the start of each night in the Fazbear Pizzaplex as children being brought into work for the company.

“If you are lost or scared or need help, please feel free and welcome to reach out to one of our little helpers in the purple vests. Gregory, say hi!” *wave*

“Hi guys! I’m Gregory Fazbear and I’m one of the free roaming guides tonight. Don’t be afraid to stop me if you have questions!”

They are around to help and give subtle assistance to those struggling, make the place seem more lively, and be an example to the kids. Sometimes they help collect kids out of the daycare play structures.

Different ages of kids: Gregory (11) being the youngest. Also have 13 15 17 19 plus a 21 and 24 yo behind service/ticket desks. The only human around is usually just the security guard and a couple people in maintenance and on cameras, maybe a bouncer.

However, in addition to the different models, there are also several copies of each model. So there are ~5 Gregory’s for example. Because the Pizzaplex is so large, and because each model is all on their own network frame, the Greg Bots make sure that no one sees doubles of them.

With this shared mental network, there is no need to give individual copies of the same model different names because they are functionally only one being with multiple bodies around gathering and sharing the same information.

They are seen walking into staff doors only for another one to show up out of a different set a few minutes later, giving the illusion that all the backstage doors are connected and also that the bots are taking time to eat and rest throughout the night.

Greg and co can also knock hands (high fives!) with other Greg Bot models to exchange info, looks like a hand off between shifts to other people. Notifying other bots can be done silently, and sometimes emergencies necessitate broadband communication (which can be picked up by other communication devices) or quick high five chains.

Some additional thoughts:

There is sometimes a slight pause when they are asked a question to let them search the database/web for an answer.

Greg Bots can pretend to eat but must go and incinerate/dispose of it later behind the scenes.

Greg Bots tend to have pretty severe linguistic code switches, depending on who they are talking to (i.e. very professional with the human security guards, super excited or comforting with the kids, very relaxed with the animatronics, etc.)

Regarding the Glamrocks:

Freddie, with his anxieties, actually loves when he gets the chance to talk to the Greg Bots, especially the younger ones. It means he gets to hang out with kids without worrying about being careful with his strength or words. (Angry parents terrify him unless they are actually cruel/bad parents. Then he’s ready to square up.)

Monty tends to use the Greg Bots as a barrier between him and the children as he struggles with interacting with them sometimes. He’s also been known to hang out with some of the older teen models or do little shows for the normal kids watching. He’s one of the more chill animatronics to work with.

Roxy actually really struggles with the existence of the Greg Bots. She already has insecurities about her place in the Glamrocks and a whole new model of very advanced animatronics does not help. She will play nice in front of the kids, but she definitely has some snippy words for them when they all head backstage. The Greg Bots definitely give each other silent looks when they have to work with her.

Chica loves all the Greg Bots, instant friends with each of them. The more enthusiastic Greg Bots would rather work with Chica than anyone else, and they’re often seen hanging out with each other outside of working hours.

Arthur Conan Doyle:

Arthur will notice all the little things about you and what makes you tick rather quickly - He was a doctor after all, as well as being one of the world’s greatest mystery authors which makes his incredibly observant.

He’ll very quickly learn that if you haven’t initiated the physical intimacy then you don’t want it, which of course is fine by him. Arthur will sometimes forget this, for example when he’s a little tipsy and try to give you hugs and then feel immensely guilty afterwards. In the case that you’ve been hurt whilst out in the city and you need to be cared for by a doctor, Arthur will insist that he must be the one to do it, urging onlookers not to send for a doctor because he knows that a stranger getting into your little bubble, let alone touching and assessing you will do you no favours. As he treats you, he’ll talk you through everything that he’s doing so that you’re aware of what is happening, and he’ll try to make sure that you’re as comfortable with him as can be. Of course, he’ll apologise to no end afterwards.

With in the first week or so of knowing you, Arthur will realise that you get very socially tired if you’re around people for too long so, he’ll offer you his room and his company as a safe space should you ever need it. He’ll not force it, obviously, but he will gently remind you, “Being alone when you’re suffering will only make it worse, my little bird. We don’t have to speak to each other, we don’t have to interact - I’d just like to be able to offer you my presence when you need comforting.”

When you open up to him about your diagnosis, he’ll certainly be puzzled and therefore do as much research as the 19th century can offer him into your diagnosis. When he can’t find it anywhere, Arthur will practically demolish the library in search of some cure, any medical advice to help soothe you. He’s beside himself for days as he just wants to heal you but he doesn’t know how - So, he asks you. When you say that there is no cure but because you’re not sick, you’ll be okay, Arthur just accepts it, pretty quickly at that. 

The first time that you hug him he almost bursts into tears with pride knowing that you’re able to trust him this much. And he makes it his mission to be your safe place, doing everything that he possibly can to keep you comfy and happy at all times.

Leonardo Da Vinci:

Now, Leonardo is an incredibly sweet and caring man and he never wishes to harm you but, unfortunately, he is a social butterfly - An outgoing extrovert who has a habit of jumping to conclusions and also can’t keep his hands to himself. So when you shiver away from his touch and push away his offers of hugs and cuddles when you first meet, he immediately assumes that you dislike him, which of course isn’t true seriously for one of the world’s smartest men, Leo really only has 2 braincells huh?

He’ll learn pretty quickly that physical affection is off the table unless you initiate it, which is totally fine by him, he wants you to be happy and comfortable but he is a bit bummed out about it at first. I think one of his main ways of showing affection would be by holding you close, stroking your hair and surprising you with little kisses but, for you, he’ll gladly adapt.

Leonardo is one of the world’s helpers by nature, a man who always loves to solve the problems of those around him. But he’s also got a hell of a good intuition so when he sees you struggling by yourself to complete a task in the garden, never once giving in, he knows to simply encourage you from afar instead of immediately bolting to your side to help you. 

His cigarillo hung from his lips as he admired you from the balcony, the little furrow of your eyebrows as you attempted for the 9th time to lift the heavy bag of soil that was nearly the same size of you. Leonardo longed to jump from the second floor balcony and swoop in to your rescue but, he knew far better than to barge in on you when you hadn’t asked him. So instead he smiled softly to himself before calling out, “Hey cara mia - You can do it, I believe in you.”

Ultimately, he doesn’t think any different of you when you open up to him about it all, why would he? He’s your boyfriend and he loves you no matter what. Leonardo loves you through and through and that is never going to change as long as either of you live. He thinks that you’re strong, brave and beautiful and he’ll never stop thinking so.

Le Comte de Saint Germain:

Le Comte is completely unbothered by your neurodivergence, which is of course not to say that he doesn’t care! It’s just that he’s lived for so long and met so many different types of people that he doesn’t particularly notice your quirks. He’s immediately accepting of you and he simply adores everything about you.

He’ll always there to offer comfort and support should you need it and he’ll always remind you, “My door is always open to you, ma Cherie. Please don’t hesitate to come and find me should you need a break or some comfort - I’ll always protect you.” And of course, Comte always keeps good on his promise: It could be the middle of the night when you come to his door, exhausted and sobbing from being overwhelmed and Comte will welcome you to his side with no hesitation and make you a drink and a snack, letting you stay with him for as long as you need.

Comte may struggle a little at times when you don’t feel up to physical affection given that he is a very affectionate man, though, he manages, after all, he’d wade neck deep through hell for you if you so asked. He is incredibly protective of you, especially in public and will insist on escorting you on your errands or trips out to the city whenever he has the time. You’d best believe that Comte always keeps a close eye out for you just to make sure that you’re safe and comfortable, and if you’re not, he will immediately swoop in to protect you.

He knows not to jump in and magically help you if it’s not absolutely necessary, though. However, he will caution you not to work too hard and remind you that he’s available at all hours to solve your problems at the snap of his fingers if you want him to. With your permission, Comte will cuddle you close and stroke your hair, whispering soft praises and affirmations  to you, “Ma Cherie, you always work so hard - You don’t need to suffer all of your burdens alone, you know? Please always tell me when you need help and I promise to ease your worries and work. I love you, mon ange and i’m so proud of you.”

Theodorus van Gogh:

Even though he’s mean and crass on the outside, I think Theo would be really quite understanding of you - How touching is a no-no unless you’re in control of it, how you get socially exhausted and how you carry all of your burdens alone. Honestly, Theo gets it, so he’ll probably not tease you as much as he would other people. 

Though that being said, he’ll still try to ease the problems and workload weighing down on your shoulders, even though that may not be what you want him to do. And when he sees you complete a tough task or overcome a tribulation that’s been on your mind for a while, Theodorus will soften up a little just for a second to pat you on the back (metaphorically, that is). It’s simple but, “You did well. You’re such a hardworking little hondje, I admire that,” means an awful lot coming from him.

Theo isn’t really one for physical affection anyway, so I don’t think he’d mind if all of the touching in your relationship was initiated by you. Though, he is needy and clingy despite his efforts to hide such a fact so, even if he’s not touching you, he’d still like to keep you close by whenever possible. As your relationship progresses, he might struggle with the whole lack of physical affection so, if he needs to cuddle or just a quick kiss to ease his brilliant, overworked mind, he’ll write you little notes that he’ll slip under your door or leave in your apron pocket for you to find.

Theo isn’t particularly openly affectionate but, when you tell him about your diagnosis, he’ll praise you and remind you that you are amazing - “You’re such a brave pup, I’m proud of you. Ik hou zoveel van je.”

Vincent van Gogh:

Vincent understands what you’re going through straight away. As a man who’s struggled with his mental health and with social anxieties, etc, he’ll always be there to support you no matter what. Vincent will often offer for you to join him up on the bluffs that overlook Paris if you need a safe and quiet place just to be. He’ll also lend you some of his art supplies if you need to relax by doing some painting and extend the offer to join him in his studio if you ever want to.

Though he never forces you to, he’ll encourage you to open up to him whenever you feel ready to - Vincent can’t help but want to ease your burdens in any way that he possibly can. He gives you enough space but always makes sure that he’s near by in case you need him, and like Theo, Vincent might secretly do some of your chores for you just to make your days easier. 

He’ll leave you notes around the mansion to find with encouraging messages, reminders that you’re doing a great job and that he’s immensely proud of you. Vincent knows that a little bit of encouragement can go an awfully long way and he wants to provide you with that support whenever he is able to. If he has to travel for a few days, he’ll make sure to leave you plenty of extra notes and letters, and also ask either Theo, Arthur or Comte to look after you for him should you need someone.

Sometimes he forgets about the whole not initiating physical affection thing because he just wants to hold your hand whenever there is the opportunity to do so. Of course, he’ll profusely apologise when he realises his mistake and absolutely beg for your forgiveness, and then treat you to a lovely date to make up for it. He loves you so much and he never wants you to feel uncomfortable.

top 5 umm um uh uh. books. give me some recs pls and thank you (I smakc your ass and leave)

Rubbing my hands evilly rn,, these are all books I’ve been thinking of/read recently rather than my top 5 which you’d already know of so I went for recommendations over my personal faves . Under the cut !

Moriarty by Anthony Horowitz Plot: Set after the Reichenbach Fall, Sherlock Holmes and James Moriarty have both vanished, presumed dead. The resulting power vacuum attracts criminal attention from America, resulting in a Pinkerton Agent joining a Scotland Yard Detective in a Sherlock/Watson parody hoping to solve a murder mystery and dissuade the prospect of a new criminal empire. Pros: perfectly captures Arthur Conan Doyle’s writing style, twist at the end made me put the book down, not really meant to centre around Sherlock but it has plenty of callbacks to the original series. Cons: I fucking hate Anthony Horowitz lmao, he sure did write this book ! It can be very slow to get into as most the action centres around the second half/build up to the main twist reveal. It also relies on the twist not being solved, most murder mysteries might be approachable to the reader but I def got the feeling this wasn’t meant to be figured out until the end so it can be frustratingly vague and scattered at times until everything’s pulled together. Fave or Recommend: Recommend, def enjoyed reading and it scratched a content itch but it wouldn’t make my top 5.

Circe by Madeline Miller

Plot: Collation of myths involving Circe pulled together into a driven narrative, mainly covers the key stories of Scylla/Daedalus and the Minotaur/The Odyssey whilst also weaving in her relationship w immortality, family and exile. Pros: My obsession with Odysseus is all consuming and this is the book that made me fall in love w him again, Miller’s a classical professor and her relationship w the characters is beautiful as well as her own writing style being undeniably unique. Im usually on edge about mythical retellings due to authors tendencies to violate/make unneeded changes in order to modernise texts and make them appeal to an audience looking for empowerment but Miller instantly recognised Circe’s own right as a female lead and explored that insanely well. Pretty sure i cried the first time I read it? Memory is vague Cons: It’s a Greek myth, there’s going to be sexual assault. It’s not graphically detailed but still made me uncomfortable enough I kinda zoomed past it, handled fine though and actually adds to the character. Fave or Recommendation: Both ! Def top 10

The Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathon Stroud

Plot: Alternate-Colonial London where the British Empire retains it’s colonies ( but struggles to keep a grip on America ) due to the discovery and harnessing of Magic AKA. Demon summoning. The British Government is turned into a magical bureaucracy and the series mainly follows a wizards apprentice trying to carve out a political career alongside a Demon he struggles to keep under control after his true name is revealed. Pros: Fucking amazing exploration of the kinda alternate Victorian colonial genre (?) , it veers into how British society would involve with magic instead of the technology we have today but isn’t super fantasy heavy, it leans into more political satire with demons to spice things up which I can’t emphasise enough, it’s not a run of the mill bad fantasy wizards apprentice novel. Sad ending though 👎 Cons: Jonathon Stroud is firmly a YA author, I found them enjoyable enough and he doesn’t use the childish style of writing you sometimes find in bad authors/non adult books which instantly turns me off but I should emphasise it’s not adult fiction. Amazing plot, beautiful characters but no deep rhetoric or shocking gory twists or whatever. IK you said no fantasy but the magic is really more of wordsbuilding flavour than taking centre stage. Recommendation or fave: Younger me’s fave, current me’s recommendation. Sorry I’m really dissing it for being YA here but I’m recommending it for the unique world it creates rather than a top 10 books that will change your life

Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell

Plot: This is gonna be hard to explain. A collection of short stories, each one set in a chronological time period. Eg. Edwardian, Victorian, 1920’s, modern day, future, far future. You read the first half of each story, which segue into each other. Eg. You’ll read the first half of the first story which is presented as a ships log, which then cuts into the first half of the second story and so on. At the turning point you begin the second process with the second half of the stories. All of them relate to each other or are vaguely linked, the final three (?) set in the future are joined up to form a fuller narrative. And there’s also uhhh,,, reincarnation. I think. It’s been a while. Pros: Plot makes it sound fucking insane but it’s so amazingly written, each character is unique and stands out in the mind as you work your way through, splitting the stories up allows for an entirely new way of narration and had me personally frothing at the mouth to finish each tale. Cons: was very confused and thought my book was missing pages when I first started, can take a moment to adjust to the stories being split up. Idk if it’s bc I was exhausted when I read/reread this book but the final few tales I really struggled to follow the plot . The final one is set in a total apocalyptic collapse where people have resorted back to feudal societies in the ruins of technology and the kinda attempt to cram this world into a short story whilst also explain how it happened ( from the previous tales ) really had me throwing my hands up in the air. There’s also surprise s/a out of nowhere for a few lines which jumpscared me and an INCREDIBLY gory description of an android slaughterhouse ( insane writing for it though ) which I’d watch out for if that’s not your thing. Fave or Recommend: Recommend ! It’s a very well known adult fiction book and I enjoyed it and was able to recognise the talent put into it but it’s also how I treat the Beatles, just not my personal thing. Also the movie they made hired some tumblr faves apparently and included a gay romance so as a result it spawned a SUPER weird fandom which had my jaw on the floor when I first saw a character from it being referenced. Idk it’s like walking into a kids toy store and seeing Freud being marketed as an MCU fave.

The Little Friend by Donna Tartt

Plot: A 6yo (?) girl attempts to solve her brothers murder in rural Mississippi, it tackles race/class and gender issues through the eyes of a really fucking annoying child Pros: I was so unbelievably confused over the ending of this book I had to spend an hour trawling through bad interpretations and reviews to get a grasp on the main themes and conclusion. It kept me up at night like a dog w brain worms and idk if that’s a positive endorsement or not. Cons: sorry Donna 😐 so many fucking cons. Main one is, it’s a racist book. Donna Tartt has a history of racism and if you’re gonna read this probably get it second hand and be aware of the issues in it, considering it’s a book meant to be exploring racism it’s more covert but her biases are clear in her other work. Secondly, it’s utterly infuriating. Im recommending this because it’s very well written, the action and setting literally come alive but Gotdamn I want to rip it to shreds with my teeth. Nothings ever solved, the issues presented and battled over are left open or continue through shock twists we never see the conclusion of , I get this is the entire point of the book and it’s makes sense in defining who the main character is as a person but still 😒 I want my loose ends tied up. Fave or Recommend: def recommend it sticks with you but it can fuck off after that.

Hi! My friend and I recently played D:BH and when we dipped a toe into the fandom, we found a LOT of Reed900. That confused us, because we hadn't even seen RK900 after our first playthrough and Reed seemed the opposite of nice. I finally watched your film and I really admire all the work you put into it, but I still don't understand. I love hearing people talk about the things they love, though, so could you explain what it is about RK900 that motivated you to make a whole-ass movie?

I've been in this fandom since literally day one, so I witnessed the origins of Reed900 and its growth personally (at least English speaking fandom. Russian fandom could be quite different). When DBH first came out, HankCon was definitely the dominant ship and primary reason we were all here, with some love going to Connor/Markus and Simon/Markus as well. A lot of people were non shipper fans. And you also had a handful of Connor/Gavin folks but no one gave Reed much development for the first 7 or 8 weeks. And at this time we all saw RK900 as evil. No one had any real "soft" headcanons for him. I remember seeing the Harrison Ford meme go around at that time where Connor was "Baby boy, baby" and RK900 was "Evil."

However, two things happened that changed this. One, a couple people started pointing out some of Gavin's dumb charm, like not being able to say "fuck" properly and winking with both eyes, which softened us to him. On top of that, as Hankcon casefics were written more and more, it started to become common to have Gavin as a background character at the DPD. And in many of these Hankcon fics, there was a subplot about how RK900 showed up and became Gavin's partner (often those stories were from Connor's POV and dealt with his feelings of meeting an upgrade of himself). Coupled with this, a lot of artists like Don Lemefo were making extraordinary beautiful art of Reed900 together, entertaining the concept of them being partners.

The fandom started to agree rather quickly that RK900 and Reed being partnered just made sense - and to me, I think this stems from the HankCon arc in the base game. Take a detective droid like Connor and have the asshole cop learn to love him - but Reed900 inverts many of the Hankcon tropes quite intentionally.

As more fics were written, people gave Gavin the habit of smoking to be "the opposite" of Hank's drinking. They gave Gavin a cat to be the opposite of Hank's dog. Many times Gavin is shown as anxious to contrast with Hank having depression. And then, we kind of can't ignore the big sexy elephant in the room lol. In Reed900, the human detective is generally seen as the bottom, while in HankCon, the human is generally seen as the top (don't @ me, I am speaking in majorities, not absolutes). As for 900, he is often a harder version than Connor - more sarcastic, more "take no shit," more aggressive in his dynamic with his human. I once saw someone say Reed900 was invented to give Gavin a dom, and I can't really disagree with that - although D/s and BDSM fics for HankCon absolutely did exist (there's one called Scratch that comes to mind) Reed900 seemed a more organic outlet for that sort of expression, imo. The fics I saw for Reed900 at that time were much more extreme, much more masochistic, just generally kinkier than it's sister ship.

So Reed900 provides a similar attractive dynamic, but offers a different version of HankCon, and allows writers to start from day ONE of their meeting rather than having the baggage of canon to deal with. Very quickly they started to become of equal importance to the fandom as Hankcon was, often paired up together as sister ships in solidarity. Kind of a Goofus and Galiant double date, where HankCon were loving and doting and Reed900 were the old married couple who called each other "assholes." Of course over time, fandom can't resist fluff, so Reed900 evolved from its BDSM/hatesex roots and a few slow burns like Fuck Pride and Like A Light I'm Luring You, along with some more comedic fics like DPD, cemented the idea that Gavin and 900 could actually LOVE each other. Even in the case of slow burns that were still sexy, like No Strings Attached, the softer side of the ship rose to become what I feel is now the most widespread version of the boys in English speaking fandom. Fanon Gavin was also softer and usually given a lot more redemption and development compared to his canon origin.

It always confuses me when people tell me that DE is the only Reed900 they enjoy because "regular Reed900 is too abusive." I have not seen such a thing in YEARS at this point. The overwhelming majority of Reed900 content created in the past year and a half has been incredibly soft, and very similar to how they are portrayed in Evolution. I did not invent that - it was pulled from all of my experience in fandom. The only thing I can say is that Russian fandom seems to have still held on to the idea of RK900 as a dominant tank, because I get a lot of comments from them about how my Nines is too soft compared to their version of him.

Also regarding the name Nines - I first saw this used in a fic by TerminallyDepraved back in July 2018 or so. Richard was the most popular name at first (a joke of his nickname being "dick", because....Gavin), especially because Brandon McCauley used it in what was, at the time, the most visible Reed900 casefic/slow burn series. It was also the summer of a thousand names of 900 lol, as every damn fic had a different one back then. Kay, Ace, Alex, Conner, Oleg (wtf Russia), Conrad, Conan, Collin, and some just left it RK or R. Over time the Richard name kinda faded for English speakers (although Russia holds it high still) and Nines/RK are pretty much the main ones I've seen for some time. Nines took awhile to catch on, as it's the name of a character in Nier Automata as well and that was hard for some of us to reconcile, but eventually it stuck.

TLDR, why I personally love Reed900 is a whole other story that basically comes down to "I'm Gavin and I need a Nines" (which Austin essentially is for me lol). I love enemies to lovers, I love work partners, and I love the possibilities. HankCon started to wear on me after awhile when I felt like I was reading the same thing over and over, and I eventually fell out of it. I didn't ever get that fatigue with Gavin and Nines for whatever reason. I just love them, more than I hate any of the struggle of making films, so that's the short of it.

Bear in mind this is one person's POV of how the fandom evolved so it's not an absolute truth, especially outside of English fandom. I was primarily on Tumblr and AO3 at the time but things on Twitter Jericho and Discord were not on my radar and may have been different back then (Hankcon was probably a lot hornier on Twitter Jericho than it was on Tumblr, for example).

What you gotta understand about Reed900 fandom though is 1) it wasn't random, 2) it wasn't a fucking "har har crackship" like people dismiss it as and it barely even spent time as a "rarepair", and 3) even though it isn't canon, it is so rooted in fanon at this point that there's a lot for new folks to catch up on, lol. Sorry I'm on mobile and can't put this under a cut rn - hopefully it isn't too annoyingly long. 👀
