What About Human Responsibility?
Jesus has so far affirmed Pharisee soteriology. God first loves an individual. In response to God’s love, the individual cares to keep God’s Law. If a person keeps God’s Law, that person is righteous. God’s love is what brought the person into righteousness (i.e. saved the person). When the person kept the Law, that was evidence that he had been made righteous by God. This is the soteriological…

Belial is a priest, (technically) a vampire, and a demon. What a talented boy! Character Bio below the cut!
Belial is the 68th spirit recorded in The Lesser Key of Solomon. He is ranked as a king in command of 130 legions of demons and spirits. He was the second to have fallen after Lucifer, is a priest of the Cult of Bael, and is the head of Hell’s Vices as Lord of Iniquity. With Naamah, he sired the first creature to be conceived with a hunger for blood, making him the Father of Vampires. One of his titles, “Worthless One”, was given to him as a reminder that he has no place or value in Heaven. Having carved himself into a highly proficient killer, Belial’s reputation was built from blood and violence. He is a merciless and unyielding force, which is often attributed to his association with the element of earth. He demands commitment and dedication from those who work with him. Harsh consequences are placed on his devotees that fall short of this. Belial is a known sadist, yet his bloodshed is partially motivated by his desire to not only fortify his domain in Hell but also the coregency he is a part of. As a fallen Power, his need to defend the people that he cares for is above everything. For those that he is close to, Belial is incredibly patient and protective. He is very selective with who he allows into his circle, and seeing any vulnerability from him is a sign of trust.

THE REWARD OF LIVING FOR GOD 1
10 TELL THE GODLY THAT ALL WILL BE WELL FOR THEM. THEY WILL ENJOY THE RICH REWARD THEY HAVE EARNED!
11 BUT THE WICKED ARE DOOMED, FOR they will GET exactly WHAT THEY DESERVE."
Isaiah 3:10,11 (NLT)
• All would be well for the godly. Being godly means having the attributes of God in your life. Your life projects or reveals God; things He wants, and His demands from mankind (Ecclesiastes 12:13).
- Generally speaking, every human would not want to serve or walk in the ways of God, because they think His demands are too stringent.
- Also, the nature of Sin would not want humans to serve God or walk in His ways. Sin separated Man, humans, from God (Genesis 3:23,24).
- Every human was born in Sin, having the nature of Sin, thus, the desire to serve God would always not be there: "BEHOLD I WAS BROUGHT FORTH IN INIQUITY, AND IN SIN MY MOTHER CONCEIVED ME" (Psalm 51:5 NKJV).
"FOR ALL HAVE SINNED AND FALL SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD."
Romans 3:23 (NKJV)
• Jesus Christ came to reconcile Man, humans, to God (2 Corinthians 5:18,19).
- The foundation of living a godly life is, when someone received the salvation offered through Jesus Christ's substitutionary death and resurrection: "NOR IS THERE SALVATION IN ANY OTHER, FOR THERE IS NO OTHER NAME UNDER HEAVEN GIVEN AMONG MEN BY WHICH WE MUST BE SAVED" (Acts 4:12 NKJV).
- Self righteousness is not equal to salvation. Someone might be a moralist, living a good and decent life, but that does not equal to salvation or being born-again: "BUT WE ARE ALL LIKE AN UNCLEAN THING, AND ALL OUR RIGHTEOUSNESSES ARE LIKE FILTHY RAGS; WE ALL FADE AS A LEAF, AND OUR INIQUITIES, LIKE THE WIND" (Isaiah 64:6 NKJV).
- Some claim to be godly when they had no encounter with Christ Jesus yet—they are yet to be reborn (John 3:3; Romans 10:9,10).
a. To be godly means to emulate God.
But one who had no relationship with God could not emulate Him: "THEREFORE BE IMITATORS OF GOD AS DEAR CHILDREN" (Ephesians 5:1 NKJV).
b. Whoever would emulate God would be a child of His, someone who had accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9,10), thus, reconciled with God (2 Corinthians 5:18,19).
- So, being a godly person is not how morally good you are per SE, that might be part of it, but the actual godly person is someone who accepted Jesus Christ as his or her Lord and Saviour, and lives by the principles of the Bible. Such has a communion or fellowship with God; having unwavering commitment and submissiveness to God.
- Thus, when being godly is referred to in the Bible, is not talking about being a moralist, who does not have a relationship with God. But talks about those who are imitators of God, those who are His children through faith in Christ Jesus.
• In our text, the Bible says; "TELL THE GODLY THAT ALL WILL BE WELL FOR THEM. THEY WILL ENJOY THE RICH REWARD THEY HAVE EARNED!" (Isaiah 3:10 NLT).
- All being well does not talk about material blessings only. It thus means been blessed spirit, soul, and body: "DEAR FRIEND, I HOPE ALL IS WELL WITH YOU AND THAT YOU ARE HEALTHY IN BODY AS YOU ARE STRONG IN SPIRIT" (3 John 2 NLT).
"BELOVED, I PRAY THAT YOU MAY PROSPER IN ALL THINGS AND BE IN HEALTH, JUST AS YOUR SOUL PROSPERS" (3 John 2 NKJV).
- The kind of prosperity being talked about here could only be gotten by the godly, someone who had a relationship with God. Someone who his or her communion with God is intact and unfeigned.
Someone who is not born-again cannot have a prosperous soul, that is, spirit. The soul mentioned in that translation talks about the BEING of the person, which is the human spirit. The New Living Translation said: "STRONG IN SPIRIT"
• There is a reward for every act. Someone who sows to the flesh would reap corruption, and one who sows to the spirit would reap everlasting life (Galatians 6:8).
- If you chose to live godly, accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, and walked in the light of His Word; a wonderful reward awaits you (Isaiah 3:10).
- And If you did choose to live contrary to God's Will or Word, you live wickedly, the other side of the reward also awaited you (Isaiah 3:11).
- Living godly requires a choice and determination, especially in this present world of darkness. There is a pollution in the world, and the system of the world encourages Sin. The devil has made it cheap.
- However, you can make a difference wherever you find yourself as a believer in Christ Jesus. You do not have to join the system of the world, nor compromise your faith.
- Your salvation is the birthright that must not be sold. God counts on you, you are an extension of His Kingdom wherever you find yourself on the earth.
- Wherever you find yourself, your person should bring God's presence there. You are a light wherever you are (Matthew 5:14-16).
- Know that there is a reward for living godly, keeping yourself for the glory of God.
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
- If you are having an ailment in your body as you read this piece, I declare your healing in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
- The hold of the enemy, the devil, on your health is completely broken and you are declared free totally in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Peace!
TO BE CONTINUED
STEPS TO SALVATION
• Take notice of this:
IF you are yet to take the step of salvation, that is, yet to be born-again, do it now, tomorrow might be too late (2 Corinthians 6:1,2; Hebrews 3:7,8,15).
a. Acknowledge that you are a sinner and confess your Sins (1 John 1:9); And ask Jesus Christ to come into your life (Revelation 3:20).
b. Confess that you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that you confess it with your mouth, Thus, you accept Him As your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9,10).
c. As you took the steps A and B your name is written in the Book of Life (Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:8).
- If you took the steps As highlighted above, congratulations, It means you are saved—born-again. Join a Word based church in your area and Town or city, and be part of whatever they are doing there. Peace!

I’m not a religious person, I’m an ex cult member (I was raised in the Mormon tax grab faith)
I am in no means a Christian and in no way do I follow the Bible, yet I will share with you all my favorite verses.
Numbers 5: 16-31
16 And the priest shall bring her near, and set her before the Lord:
17 And the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel; and of the dust that is in the floor of the tabernacle the priest shall take, and put it into the water:
18 And the priest shall set the woman before the Lord, and uncover the woman's head, and put the offering of memorial in her hands, which is the jealousy offering: and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that causeth the curse:
19 And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and say unto the woman, If no man have lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to uncleanness with another instead of thy husband, be thou free from this bitter water that causeth the curse:
20 But if thou hast gone aside to another instead of thy husband, and if thou be defiled, and some man have lain with thee beside thine husband:
21 Then the priest shall charge the woman with an oath of cursing, and the priest shall say unto the woman, The Lord make thee a curse and an oath among thy people, when the Lord doth make thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to swell;
22 And this water that causeth the curse shall go into thy bowels, to make thy belly to swell, and thy thigh to rot: And the woman shall say, Amen, amen.
23 And the priest shall write these curses in a book, and he shall blot them out with the bitter water:
24 And he shall cause the woman to drink the bitter water that causeth the curse: and the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter.
25 Then the priest shall take the jealousy offering out of the woman's hand, and shall wave the offering before the Lord, and offer it upon the altar:
26 And the priest shall take an handful of the offering, even the memorial thereof, and burn it upon the altar, and afterward shall cause the woman to drink the water.
27 And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people.
28 And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed.
29 This is the law of jealousies, when a wife goeth aside to another instead of her husband, and is defiled;
30 Or when the spirit of jealousy cometh upon him, and he be jealous over his wife, and shall set the woman before the Lord, and the priest shall execute upon her all this law.
31 Then shall the man be guiltless from iniquity, and this woman shall bear her iniquity.
If you haven’t picked up on it, the priest is performing an abortion.
So, Christians, hate mongers, republican assholes: stop using the Bible to justify your hate if you have not read it. The Bible doesn’t say what you think. The Bible supports abortion and GIVES YOU A RECIPE TO RECREATE!!
Jesus wasn’t a MAGA gun toting, confederate flag wielding mongrel. He was a pacifist hippie who hung out with 12 dudes and a hooker, he has a kind soul who loved EVERYONE, not just whites and republicans.
I know someone is going to bring gays into the discussion because of Leviticus 18: 22.
It was purposefully mistranslated. It originally detested pedophilia, not homosexuality, originally translating roughly to “man shall not lie with BOY” not “man shall not lie with man.” Also, Leviticus doesn’t apply to modern Christians or else we wouldn’t be eating pork and shellfish or cutting our hair.
Plus, in Matthew chapter 19, Jesus states that eunuchs, castrated men (also at the time meaning gay and/or celibate men) are to be revered in the eyes of heaven.
So god never said you could strip women of their bodily autonomy and medical rights, nor did he ever say to hate anyone, not even the queer community.

”Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.“
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭7‬:‭14‬ ‭KJV‬‬
”For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.“
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭9‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭KJV‬‬
”Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
“Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.“

The ONLY place the Bible mentions abortion: Numbers 5:11-31. It tells how to do it... sort of.
Concerning Unfaithful Wives
11 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 12 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘If any man’s wife goes astray and behaves unfaithfully toward him, 13 and a man lies with her carnally, and it is hidden from the eyes of her husband, and it is concealed that she has defiled herself, and there was no witness against her, nor was she caught— 14 if the spirit of jealousy comes upon him and he becomes jealous of his wife, who has defiled herself; or if the spirit of jealousy comes upon him and he becomes jealous of his wife, although she has not defiled herself— 15 then the man shall bring his wife to the priest. He shall bring the offering required for her, one-tenth of an ephah of barley meal; he shall pour no oil on it and put no frankincense on it, because it is a grain offering of jealousy, an offering for remembering, for bringing iniquity to remembrance.
16 ‘And the priest shall bring her near, and set her before the Lord. 17 The priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel, and take some of the dust that is on the floor of the tabernacle and put it into the water. 18 Then the priest shall stand the woman before the Lord, uncover the woman’s head, and put the offering for remembering in her hands, which is the grain offering of jealousy. And the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that brings a curse. 19 And the priest shall put her under oath, and say to the woman, “If no man has lain with you, and if you have not gone astray to uncleanness while under your husband’s authority, be free from this bitter water that brings a curse. 20 But if you have gone astray while under your husband’s authority, and if you have defiled yourself and some man other than your husband has lain with you”— 21 then the priest shall put the woman under the oath of the curse, and he shall say to the woman—“the Lord make you a curse and an oath among your people, when the Lord makes your thigh [a]rot and your belly swell; 22 and may this water that causes the curse go into your stomach, and make your belly swell and your thigh rot.”
‘Then the woman shall say, “Amen, so be it.”
23 ‘Then the priest shall write these curses in a book, and he shall scrape them off into the bitter water. 24 And he shall make the woman drink the bitter water that brings a curse, and the water that brings the curse shall enter her to become bitter. 25 Then the priest shall take the grain offering of jealousy from the woman’s hand, shall wave the offering before the Lord, and bring it to the altar; 26 and the priest shall take a handful of the offering, as its memorial portion, burn it on the altar, and afterward make the woman drink the water. 27 When he has made her drink the water, then it shall be, if she has defiled herself and behaved unfaithfully toward her husband, that the water that brings a curse will enter her and become bitter, and her belly will swell, her thigh will rot, and the woman will become a curse among her people. 28 But if the woman has not defiled herself, and is clean, then she shall be free and may conceive children.
29 ‘This is the law of jealousy, when a wife, while under her husband’s authority, goes astray and defiles herself, 30 or when the spirit of jealousy comes upon a man, and he becomes jealous of his wife; then he shall stand the woman before the Lord, and the priest shall execute all this law upon her. 31 Then the man shall be free from [b]iniquity, but that woman shall bear her [c]guilt.’ ”

The Rule of St. Pachomius
Note: The translation used is primarily that of Fr. Lawrence of Jordanville. This order was given to St. Pachomius of Egypt by an Angel, and was the rule he used at each hour of the day and night (Archimandrite Lazarus (Moore), St. Seraphim of Sarov: A Spiritual Biography, p. 77). It is a prayer rule that especially lends itself to memorization, and as such is one that can be done in situations in which it is impractical for one to pray using a prayer book.
Through the prayers of our holy Fathers, O Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on us.
Amen. Glory to Thee, our God, glory to Thee.
O Heavenly King, Comforter, Spirit of Truth, Who art everywhere present and fillest all things, Treasury of good things and Giver of life: Come and dwell in us, and cleanse us of all impurity, and save our souls, O Good One.
Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. (Thrice)
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and unto the unto the ages of ages. Amen.
O Most Holy Trinity, have mercy on us. O Lord, blot out our sins. O Master, pardon our iniquities. O Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities for Thy name's sake.
Lord have mercy. (Thrice)
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Our Father, Who art in the Heavens, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
O Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on us. Amen.
Lord, Have mercy. (Twelve times)
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and unto the unto the ages of ages. Amen.
O come, let us worship God our King.
O come, let us worship and fall down before Christ our King and God.
O come, let us worship and fall down before Christ Himself, our King and God.
Psalm 50
Have mercy on me, O God, according to Thy great mercy; and according to the multitude of Thy compassions blot out my transgression. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I know mine iniquity, and my sin is ever before me. Against Thee only have I sinned and done this evil before Thee, that Thou mightest be justified in Thy words, and prevail when Thou art judged. For behold, I was conceived in iniquities, and in sins did my mother bear me. For behold, Thou hast loved truth; the hidden and secret things of Thy wisdom hast Thou made manifest unto me. Thou shalt sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be made clean; Thou shalt wash me, and I shall be made whiter than snow. Thou shalt make me to hear joy and gladness; the bones that be humbled, they shall rejoice. Turn Thy face away from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from Thy presence, and take not Thy Holy Spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation, and with Thy governing Spirit establish me. I shall teach transgressors Thy ways, and the ungodly shall turn back unto Thee. Deliver me from blood-guiltiness, O God, Thou God of my salvation; my tongue shall rejoice in Thy righteousness. O Lord, Thou shalt open my lips, and my mouth shall declare Thy praise. For if Thou hadst desired sacrifice, I had given it; with whole-burnt offerings Thou shalt not be pleased. A sacrifice unto God is a broken spirit; a heart that is broken and humbled God will not despise. Do good, O Lord, in Thy good pleasure unto Zion, and let the walls of Jerusalem be builded. Then shalt Thou be pleased with a sacrifice of righteousness, with oblation and whole-burnt offerings. Then shall they offer bullocks upon Thine altar.
The Creed
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Only-begotten, begotten of the Father before all ages; Light of Light, true God of true God; begotten, not made; of one essence with the Father, by Whom all things were made; Who for us men and for our salvation came down from the heavens, and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became man; And was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried; And arose again on the third day according to the Scriptures; And ascended into the heavens, and sitteth at the right hand of the Father; And shall come again, with glory, to judge both the living and the dead; Whose kingdom shall have no end. And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of life; Who proceedeth from the Father; Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; Who spake by the prophets. In One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the remission of sins. I look for the resurrection of the dead, And the life of the age to come. Amen.
The Jesus Prayer:
O Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner. (100 Times)
The Dismissal
It is truly meet to bless thee, the Theotokos, ever blessed and most blameless, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, who without corruption gavest birth to God the Word, the very Theotokos, thee do we magnify.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Lord, have mercy. (Thrice)
O Lord, Bless.
O Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, for the sake of the prayers of Thy most pure Mother, of our holy and God-bearing fathers, and all the saints, have mercy on us and save us, for Thou art good and the Lover of mankind. Amen.

Psalm 51[a]
For the director of music. A psalm of David. When the prophet Nathan came to him after David had committed adultery with Bathsheba.
1 Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion
blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash away all my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is always before me.
4 Against you, you only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight;
so you are right in your verdict
and justified when you judge.
5 Surely I was sinful at birth,
sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
6 Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb;
you taught me wisdom in that secret place.
7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;
wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
8 Let me hear joy and gladness;
let the bones you have crushed rejoice.
9 Hide your face from my sins
and blot out all my iniquity.
10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways,
so that sinners will turn back to you.
14 Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God,
you who are God my Savior,
and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.
15 Open my lips, Lord,
and my mouth will declare your praise.
16 You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it;
you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
17 My sacrifice, O God, is[b] a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart
you, God, will not despise.
18 May it please you to prosper Zion,
to build up the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then you will delight in the sacrifices of the righteous,
in burnt offerings offered whole;
then bulls will be offered on your altar.

59 Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
4 None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.
5 They hatch cockatrice' eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.
6 Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands.
7 Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.
8 The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.
9 Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.
10 We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noon day as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men.
11 We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us.
12 For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them;
13 In transgressing and lying against the Lord, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.
14 And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.
15 Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the Lord saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.
16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.
17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak.
18 According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence.
19 So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.
20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord.
21 As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever.

Psalm 51 (NKJV)
Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin.
For I acknowledge my transgressions, And my sin is always before me. Against You, You only, have I sinned, And done this evil in Your sight— That You may be found just when You speak, And blameless when You judge.
Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me. Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me hear joy and gladness, That the bones You have broken may rejoice. Hide Your face from my sins, And blot out all my iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, And sinners shall be converted to You.
Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, The God of my salvation, And my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips, And my mouth shall show forth Your praise. For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise.
Do good in Your good pleasure to Zion; Build the walls of Jerusalem. Then You shall be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, With burnt offering and whole burnt offering; Then they shall offer bulls on Your altar.

A Lenten Novena to Prepare for Ash Wednesday: Create in Me a Pure Heart (Psalm 51)
Day One (We Are But Ash)/ Day Two (We Mourn and Fast) / Day Three (Jesus is Tempted in the Wilderness) / Day Four (The Transfiguration) / Day Five (Living Waters) / Day Six (The Man Born Blind) / Day Seven (Lazarus) / Day Eight (A Land of Milk and Honey) / Day Nine (Create in Me a Pure Heart)
Opening: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.Lord, I long to be united with Your Face; do not hold me at arms length, though my sins are many. Join myself with You through the Holy Spirit; let the light of Your Face shine upon me, and teach me the ways of Your Heart, for I am but dust, and to dust I shall return.
Lord, most Holy Trinity, Three in One, as this Ash Wednesday approaches, we remember the words of the psalmist:
Have mercy on me, O God,    according to your unfailing love;according to your great compassion    blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity    and cleanse me from my sin.
 For I know my transgressions,    and my sin is always before me. Against you, you only, have I sinned    and done what is evil in your sight;so you are right in your verdict    and justified when you judge. Surely I was sinful at birth,    sinful from the time my mother conceived me. Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb;    you taught me wisdom in that secret place.
 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;    wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness;    let the bones you have crushed rejoice. Hide your face from my sins    and blot out all my iniquity.
 Create in me a pure heart, O God,    and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence    or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation    and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
 Then I will teach transgressors your ways,    so that sinners will turn back to you. Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God,    you who are God my Savior,    and my tongue will sing of your righteousness. Open my lips, Lord,    and my mouth will declare your praise. You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it;    you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit;    a broken and contrite heart    you, God, will not despise.
 May it please you to prosper Zion,    to build up the walls of Jerusalem. Then you will delight in the sacrifices of the righteous,    in burnt offerings offered whole;    then bulls will be offered on your altar.
Our Lord, My Lord, Our Father, My Father-- the psalmist was inspired by Your beautify and loving nature when he so boldly wrote:  Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. As Ash Wednesday approaches, along with the beginning of this reason of Lent, make a pure, right, and clean heart within me. Renew my spirit, and fill me with love of You and my neighbor. Keep worldly things from my mind, and replace unwanted thoughts with words of praise and thoughts of You.
Sweet Jesus, my Love and my Redeemer, You suffered and perished to create a clean heart inside me and wipe away the wrongs I have done and good I have left undone. Inspire my heart to be filled with song as the psalmist’s was, and that it overflows with a love of You and my fellow human this Lent. Create in me a loyal servant, a wise virgin, and help me to love You as You love me.
Closing Prayer: God all powerful and merciful, grant we entreat You, that, through prayer and dedication to You, we may deserve to join You eternally in the splendor of the glory of Heaven. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

PSALM 46:10
By Shayla Brown
I am strong.
I am magical, too.
I conceived the land,
and the sky,
and the ocean blue.
I am creative.
I Birthed woman,
and man…
and everything that creepeth
across the dirt and the sand.
I am powerful, Baby!
I willed the flood waters down!
I made the disbelieving sorry,
and I bid the wicked drown.
I pulled back the waters,
to let the people pass through;
guided them through the wilderness,
to the promised land too!
But For all my power,
and the respect I’m due,
little more is given,
than half-hearted “thank you”.
The compassionate are far between.
The understanding are few.
The Gentiles have more faith in me
than my own children do.
Yes I am strong...
but on the 7th day, didn’t I rest?
And don’t I spare the beloved
and righteous
the few
who pass my tests?
AND–
despite your iniquities–
don’t I give you my best?
Don’t I keep my hands stayed on you
so you’re favored and blessed?
YES.
Yes!
And faithfulness is my only request,
with fervor and zest,
I ask of thee;
Only;
thy faithfulness.
