Anon, my mouth fell open when you asked if I thought conkasa was a joke. No I am so serious about them. I know that you can't tell tone from text but I have never been more serious in my life. I'll admit that my introduction to the ship was people joking about them and I was like, "oh, ha ha ha! Conkasa? So random!" But within mere days I realized that they would be so good together and changed my tune.

Number one, I think they have complementary personalities. Number two, because her father was a hunter and she lived in the mountains with her parents and I think that's her ideal life- a quiet one like her parents had. Connie is a hunter and I think that he would be happy to live in the mountains together with her. I think that's the kind of like he wants, too. Number three, Connie is one of the most loving and caring characters in attack on titan. I think that his capacity to love is equal to mikasa's. For instance, when Reiner turned into the armored Titan and he and Bert were trying to take Eren, Connie did not realize that they were the Titans and his first thought was "oh no are Reiner and Bertolt okay?" That's just one example. He is so caring. They would be so kind and affectionate to each other. I'm doing talk to text and I've currently lost track of what number I'm on but also consider please that Eren and Mikasa are obviously soulmates but consider that Connie and Sasha are also soulmates but in a platonic way. remember when Connie said "Sasha and I were like twins I feel like half of me is gone?" He is the only one who has that kind of deep connection with someone else like Mikasa had with Eren so he is perfectly poised to understand what she's going through in a way that no one else can. Also, I don't think that Connie would be jealous of her having any lingering feelings for Eren. I think that his personality is such that he would know that her love for him is just part of who she is and because he would love her he would accept it and not feel threatened because Connie, having a huge heart, also loved Eren as a friend and misses him. And I think she will be able to understand when Connie is missing Sasha and grieving for her (because I think that he'll never get over losing her). They can comfort each other. Oh, goddamn it. I'm starting to tear up. I really think Conkasa would be so happy together and they look good together and she needs someone silly and funny to draw her out of her shell after all the trauma and sadness of her life, and he needs her to keep him grounded.

🙏 I love them, your honor. I don't ever make Connie a serious love rival in my Eremika fics because I will not make Mikasa choose between them because they are both perfect for her in different ways. In my heart, he is her husband in those eight extra pages. He grew his hair out.

I really hope you're also actually serious about Conkasa and not just baiting me 😭 I'm still wounded from being told I must be joking about them a while back.

Okay but, on the rumbling/139 post mikasa who is totally empty and broken and when friends go visit her, connie and her end up spending time together and she finally lets out a giggle with him.

I'M GONNA CRY THIS IS SO CUTE 😭

Connie being Connie he accidentally says something ridiculously stupid and out of the blue... Mikasa just bursts into a fit of giggles. It's the first time she's laughed in a long while and it brings the biggest smile on his face knowing he managed to cheer her up even if it is for a fraction of a second. 🥹❤

lemme jump on the conkasa ship for just a second LMAO-

all i imagined was that connie was her source of excitement in her life. connie probably convinces her to do some stupid shit she wouldn't have done with eren and armin because they've known her forever and know the boundaries of what she's willing to do. but connie doesn't, and he wants her to live out her youth, so he probbaly drag her out in the middle of the night to hang out with him and sasha and jean and pushes her out of her comfort zone.

not to the point the where she's uncomfortable, but to where she lets go for a moment and actually starts feeling like a teen and not a soldier in the army. and during the day they talk occasionally, he drags her into his mess sometimes and he makes her laugh.

and when eren left, mikasa probably saw a lot of young eren in him - carefree, bold, strong. and he probably often told her she should let go more often and be more bold, so in her time of weakness when everyone would have expected her to be down and sad, she cut her hair short and pushed through it.

mainly as a way to show comnie that, yes, she can be bold and push herself out of her comfort zone.

in all honestly, i see this ship more platonically than romanitcally, but it's cute to think about nonetheless :)
