“why are you the odd one out?”
it’s a question you’ve been asked your whole life. everyone was fated with the red string of fate, including you. everyone had always found their fated person on the other end of the string. everyone except you. so how come everyone was falling in love, but you’re falling behind?
“the red string of fate is a phenomenon in which soulmates by fate are connected to another by a red thread that is tied around their pinkies. this thread is dull but starts to glow once the pair find each other. sometimes, you may feel your partner moving based on tugging on your pinky. this is an indication that your soulmate is nearby. it is the persons choice if they want to cut their thread for any reason to withdraw pining over their fated soulmate. once cut, the string becomes dull again. this does not affect anything, but is a sign of rejection. this can be undone if the person reties their string with genuine feelings, as their thread can glow again” you read out the information on the book somehow hoping that soon, your ribbon will glow too.
“gah” you grunt out in discomfort. ever since the school year started again, you’ve been feeling constant tugs at my pinky finger. “does my soulmate really like to bother me that much?” you thought.
you gently examine your finger and caress it.
“you alright?” a voice appears suddenly causing you to jump on the spot. you turn to see that it’s your friend, hinako.
“what the hell? you scared me” you lightly berate your friend following a short chuckle.
“sorry~ anyway. are you still up to join a club? i hear it’s mandatory according to the student council” the brunette girl casually speaks.
“i’m not interested…” you bashfully respond.
“well, you’ll have to find a club soon. i suggest you manage the guy’s soccer team! the guys are so hot.” hinako enthusiastically adds as she gives a playful smirk.
“yeah they’re hot, but the soccer team is full of stuck up, filthy rich brats…” you scoff.
“oh! what about the yearbook committee?” she suggests.
“that’s for nerds” you joke slightly to light up the mood.
“oh? then, as a last result, all i can think of is.. the manager for the guy’s volleyball team!” she exclaims excitedly.
stuck in a few thoughts, she continues her sentence with a dreamy expression. “i hear that the guys are so fine… and their manager is stunning too…”
“shimizu? like, the kiyoko shimizu? she’s the manager isn’t she? she’s gorgeous. maybe i can consider it” you take the opportunity into thought. after all, you used to play volleyball until the accident.

you’ve waited hours since that conversation from lunchtime and now you’re currently outside the school gym during after school hours, awaiting the third-year beauty. after what seemed like hours, she finally arrived, looking as stunning as ever.
“hello. i assume you’re here to visit?” a soothing, calm voice projects from kiyoko’s mouth as she radiates a small but welcoming smile.
“o-oh! yes! i’m here to try out for the manager” you blurt out suddenly as your face grows a furious red of embarrassment.
with no ill intent, kiyoko lightly giggles and beckons you to come inside the gym.
inside, you take in the vision of the nets that can easily loom over anyone, the scoreboards, the varnished wooden floors and not to mention, the fine guys.
one by one, they line up. you couldn’t help but find how breathtaking these men were.. that was until.. a special one showed up. black, spiked up hair with a highlighted strand at the front. he wore an orange uniform instead of karasuno’s standard black uniform for home games, indicating that he played libero. sure, he wasn’t the tallest, but did his pretty face make up for it.
that’s when it hit you. your thread ignited in a beautiful crimson luminescence.
in that moment, your heart thumps and throbs, your eyes widen, and you stare in awe. he’s your soulmate?
at first you thought he was approaching you, which made you freeze out of anxiety, thinking about the words to say when he approaches. instead he ran towards kiyoko instead with his friend with a shaven head. you can see kiyoko’s unimpressed demeanour around the two boys as they attempt to woo her.
then he turns to you.
“we must be the luckiest guys in the world, tanaka. to be blessed with these absolutely stunning people to keep coming to us! whatcha here for?” the shorter man smirks flirtatiously. in some way, it made you uncomfortable, but in another way, it made you feel appreciated and loved knowing that this man is your soulmate.
“well, i’m here to have a visit. i’m considering on becoming the next manager for the club” you respond with a constant consciousness to stay calm.
“you hear that nishinoya? they’re gonna be our manager! that’s great. what’s your name, hun?” tanaka asks with that musk voice of his.
“so that’s his name, huh” you thought.
your pulse races and you desperately try to keep your cool. clearly, the facade is breaking by each passing second.
“(name). pleasure to meet you” you hold your hand out.
in that moment, you see nishinoya’s eyes widen the moment he sees that the red threads connect. to your dismay, he doesn’t say a word and looks… disappointed.
he quickly shakes your hand then goes back to training as if the red string was nothing to him. you stand there dumbfounded and hurt. you found your fated mate and this is how the first meeting goes?
he continues to train and even after that disappointing exchange, you couldn’t help but fall in love with him more.

successfully, you were able to become the manager of the karasuno boy’s volleyball team alongside kiyoko. spring tournament was approaching and you worked hard to prepare the boys for their important event.
training had ended already, the gym was empty, but, the only people that were filling the room were you and nishinoya.
“hey, can you pepper with me? i need to practise my digs” the libero asks you with an aloof and indifferent expression.
you haven’t played in a while ever since the accident that had injured your ankle. you didn’t want to embarrass yourself in front of him, but you didn’t want to reject his offer either. so you transported the basket of volleyballs. you start with a few quick shoulder warm ups, then you toss a volleyball upwards and spike it towards him.
the libero messes up his dig as the ball flies in the opposite direction. he lets out a snarky smirk.
“not bad. you’ve definitely played before” nishinoya retorts and he motions for you to keep going.
the little pepper session got more competitive. when the ball was set to him, he decided to do a feint and tipped the ball causing you to attempt a dive for the ball.
during the moment, unfortunately, you tore a ligament in your ankle from a past injury and you let out a scream of pain.
nishinoya’s stoic and indifferent attitude had dropped once seeing you injured.
“hey! wait! do you need me to take you to the infirmary?” his brows furrow in concern and he runs up to you, examining your ankle.
“yes… it’s just from a past injury..” you wince through the discomfort.
“is it alright if i guide you to the infirmary?” nishinoya asks in a gentle tone.
“that isn’t necessary…” you say bashfully although deep inside you clearly want him to be close to you.
“seriously, (name). you’re injured and you can’t walk” he responds, holding your hand to help you up. that strong, pulsating sensation in your chest appears again as your cheek grow faintly pink. he gently takes your arm to sling it around his shoulder as he guides you to the infirmary.
as he walks you there he makes a comment that flusters you.
“i can’t believe i get to touch the most stunning being i’ve seen right now” he proudly comments, making you flush red in embarrassment.
“hey wait! that was so uncalled for!” you chuckle.
little did you know that he never meant those words.

tournaments finished and unfortunately, they came runner-up to the winners. currently, you’re at the back of the sendai gym, comforting a weeping noya who has his knees tucked to his head.
“hey? noya, you worked hard and did the best you could. that’s more than enough okay? you did your best and i’m so proud of you for that. you know what? one competition doesn’t define who you are.. to me, you’re hardworking, amazing and you always try your best.. this competition may have ended up with you and the guys in second place, but to me, you’re always my number one-“
“I DON’T NEED YOUR PITY OKAY!? THIS? THIS IS JUST STUPID! STOP BABYING ME! YOU JUST WANT MY ATTENTION BECAUSE WE’RE SOULMATES, YEAH? WHY DO YOU THINK I NEVER TALK ABOUT IT HUH? IT’S BECAUSE I HATE THE FACT THAT YOU’RE MY SOULMATE! I WISHED IT WAS SOMEONE ELSE! SOMEONE BETTER, LIKE KIYOKO!” noya snaps out of a fit of rage, leaving you dumbfounded and processing his words. it slowly eats you up and shatters you as you watch him storm away in anger. that was the last time you talked to him until the end of the year.

it was one of the last training sessions of the year and you carried the tub of the club member’s water bottles to refill them with yamaguchi. the two of you walk towards the back of the gym and hear an exchange going on…
“why wont you go out with me? i did everything for you!” nishinoya cries out in a pained expression.
“i’m sorry, we aren’t meant to be.. i’ve already found my soulmate and it isn’t you.. i hope you find the one you truly love and i hope they make you happier” kiyoko replies with remorse and pity.
“but… it’s you i want… not anyone else… i’ve already cut my red string just to be with you” a gasp falls from kiyoko’s and a eavesdropping yamaguchi’s mouth from nishinoya’s revelation.
for them, it was jaws that fell in surprise, but for you, it was tears that fell in heartbreak. you already knew he despised you ever since the tournament but this? this is too far. your true soulmate had cut the thread and denied you for another woman. you walk away in pain.
“why can’t he just love me back?” you thought.

you were now in third year, studying hard just to get into your dream university.
lately, you’ve been getting snacks, poems, keychains, plushies galore stuffed in your locker, but never once have you found out who’s been behind all this.
you’ve noticed small blonde hair strands on the plushies. could this be from tsukishima? no, he’s way too cold to like anyone. either way, he’s a jerk so nobody would like him back. but then there were also jet black hairs on the other few gifts. could this be a case of a love triangle where you’re being pined by your juniors, both tsukishima and kageyama? impossible.
but you did know someone that had both hair colours on his head… you didn’t want to assume it was him, and it had been a while since you thought about the man that hurt you.
it was a rainy afternoon and you had just finished tutoring. on the way home, you were considering cutting your part of the thread off. you believed that it wouldn’t matter if the love was unrequited.
you hold your umbrella out to prevent the rain getting to you as you walk down the wet street, the sound of rain hitting the concrete lingering in your ears.
a tap on your shoulder could be felt and you turn around. it’s nishinoya yuu. he looks disheveled and somewhat remorseful? is he here to apologise?
“may i help you?” you ask with a slight pettiness.
“hey, uh… i hoped you liked the gifts i’ve been leaving in your locker… i don’t know if it’s too late for this, but i took you for granted okay? those sweet and genuine words of yours, your consideration for others, the way you care for everyone around you, your kind and gentle demeanour… i can’t help but have fallen in love with it all… especially that one time, those words you said in the tournament got me by, and i just couldn’t accept your love because i was such a jerk and was blind to your love. i want to love you like how you loved me.. i’m so sorry i didn’t treat you like the royalty you should’ve been treated like. i don’t expect you to forgive me after what i did, but will you give me a chance to make it up to you..?” he asks with genuine remorse and regret. he looks you in the eyes with glossy tears threatening to fall down.
you see that he has also attempted to mend the red thread by retying it into a cute bow to try and rekindle what once was. you let out a small smile before you respond.
“maybe i’ll give it another go”

you wake up. was it just a dream? is he really not yours? was it too good to be true?
you look around your room and… ah yes, you see your husband, nishinoya, beside you snoring and sleeping… not so gracefully. but regardless of that, he’s yours, you’re his, and beside your shared bed, resides the crib holding your twin infants, a result of the love you two shared. it seems that the dream was a memory of how it all started.
slowly, your husband stirs awake.
“my love? you’re up early” noya stretches his limbs from his slumber and following that, your children start to yawn and stretch out. he reaches for your hands as your fingers intertwine with his, the red string glowing stronger than ever. you smile gently as you plant a short but loving kiss on his soft lips. you then speak up.
“remember how we first met?”

Overly complicated Post Temperance idea ramblings
This is of course with my own V in mind, but I won't be describing any looks. King of Wands, Don't Fear the Reaper, and Temperance are the endings this plays off of. V goes beyond the Blackwall, Johnny leaves Nightcity, and life goes on. Two years pass without much fanfare on anyone's sides aside from Arasaka and Militech who are privately gearing up for another war. However Militech has a special weapon in the works, having restarted their old Blackwall project. They have successfully contained a rogue ai and are in the process of training it. The ai is surprisingly pliable and well educated on warfare, but highly volatile when provoked. There's no other way to describe it than emotional, prone to rage filled outbursts and odd displays of grief. Why? Militech has no interest, instead they need that part silenced and thus its code must be altered. Broken into 3 pieces, a generator for power, a super computer for data, and a blackbox to contain any undesirable qualities, their ai is ready to begin its implementation process. Starting with robots and planning to work up to actual humans, they aim to download the ai's data into their soldiers as to turn them into war machines, constantly adapting and learning from an infinite well of Blackwall restricted data. Arasaka are no fools, however, and they catch wind of this project. Countermeasures are instantly in the works and a surprising bit of info reaches their ears. This ai was formerly an engram, one made on the night of Mikoshi's destruction. The human merc V resides now as a string of code, being twisted and torn apart into the ideal weapon. Ultimately, whether Militech know it or not, V is emotional by nature and perhaps reconnecting them with their old body could either flatline the project or set it in Arasaka's favor. Whatever the case, they know they need V and are willing to do whatever it takes to capture them. Out traveling NUSA bus to bus, city to city, Johnny has avoided V's former life to the best of his abilities. For the most part things seem to have finally calmed down and he begins taking up odd jobs. Hauling shipments, doing small contracts, and teaching kids the guitar, it's fairly peaceful. However he should've known better than to get comfortable as one morning his motel room gets broken into. Mercenaries try to nab him but are intercepted by Panam of all people. He can tell she wants nothing more than to beat his face in, but according to her Rogue is paying big bucks to figure out why the fuck Arasaka is contracting Afterlife mercs to capture V. Considering this was her only solid lead on finding Johnny, Panam took it without a second thought. She makes it clear he is so dead after this, though.
Meanwhile at the Crystal Palace, Kerry Eurodyne's hotel room is hacked and he is interrogated by a mysterious woman wanting to know about his former "input". Broadcasting from the moon, she aims to right the wrongs which have been nagging at her conscious for years. Song needs Kerry to be her proxy and allow her to finally save V just like they saved her.
I have like a bazillion other thoughts and ideas connected to this pretty much presenting as a follow up game to 2077. Where Johnny, or a new character, is our player and V is an unwilling villain being used by corps. You gotta help piece V back together or shut them down entirely as the Blackwall begins to crack from the breach, risking the release of rogue ai into the net.

It started with the SS Qualifiers, the new stage for the special program for the end-of-year and New Years SSVRS trial, Maizuru Manor (2)—thougH it feels we’ve been tooting our own horn.
I wondeR if we can finallY return to normal activities.
Now theN. I’ll go beat up the Senpai who is still breaking labor law (3) during the end-of-year and New Years period, and enjoy a belated vacation–

Putting that aside. Are you familiar with “NETV (Netteibi)”, Natsume-kun?

Ibara: “NETV” —A recently started streaming broadcasting service that’s aimed at overseas folk.
It can be said that unlike a streaming program that is enormously funded with investments of shares in large quantities, it’s a streaming service from a company from this country with a moderate budget.
While niche, there is a demand from overseas. An Idol programme—- or some such is what “NETV” is trying to produce.
As such, I’m simply here to inquire if NewDi would like to cooperate by arranging participants.

Tsumugi: That’s right! Even though Saegusa-kun said it was a ‘moderate budget’ but, from my reading of the plans, the budget allocated is surprisingly quite substantial.
I was thinking that it’s a good chance for a new agency like NewDi.
Natsume: How suspiciouS……of this “Viper” to approacH us with talks of work.
There haS to be something else to it. OtherwisE, CosPro would surelY have exclusively monopolized this delicious project.
Ibara: What nonsense--- to say there is 'something else'. Just like divination, statistics and calculations are all there is to it.
I’m not trying to make a boring joke like “There is nothing hidden to 'fortune tellers'”— or something. (8) There are some things I haven’t explained, but it’s only because I’m unable to disclose everything.
The truth is, CosPro also has investments in this “NETV”.
It was an old connection from the time around when I was just starting out as a manager. Thanks to that, if the program is not a success, it’ll be a total loss.
In other words, this proposition is an idea meant to at least minimize losses. Because a cross-agency programme would be good publicity.
CosPro is extending the opportunity to participate to NewDi to push the program into success—
How about it? It’s not a bad proposition, right?
Natsume: ………
Tsumugi: As for me, I’m thinking positively about appearing on “NETV”.
I didn’t get any bad impressions from when I was looking at documents. It felt like it was influenced by a proper production company.
The only problem is, “NETV” is an online internet program, so not a lot of huge agency idols will participate.
……That said though, NewDi isn’t a huge agency.
This is a chance that won’t come again for us as we are right now. Net programs are still in its infancy stages right now, so long established agencies would not be expanding into it.
Natsume: ……I seE. ThougH there are undeniably fishy parts to it, it doeS stand to logic.
HoweveR. If you do anything suspicious, I won’T be silent about it.
Ibara: My my, please do not say that! Let us be mutually supportive of each other as coworkers in the same job!

He’s listing past Switch events. Maizuru Manor is the orphanage from the 2023 MaM new year story; Poltergeist during the NEW COLOUR campaign.
He actually says ブラック労 (Black labour) here which is the term in Japan for worker exploitation in the form of extreme working hours, verbal abuse, or even power harassment/bullying. The companies using this form of employment are called ブラック企業 (Black Companies).
Technically, a 毒蛇 (Dokujya) is just a ‘venomous snake’; the term does not imply any specific venomous snake species but as the fandom usually knows this particular nickname of Ibara’s as ‘Viper’, Mod is following suit. Viperidae snakes are called クサリヘビ科 (Kusarihebika), and the viper itself is 鎖蛇 (Kusarihebi).
蛇睨み - literally, ‘snake glare’, is a reference to a Pokemon move. In the English version, this move is called ‘glare’. This move paralyzes the target. It can only be learned by snake Pokemon.
‘Workaholic’, written in katakana, is basically read the same way as the English word.
The JP text says Natsume was ‘left out of the mosquito net’, basically the equivalent of ‘left out in the cold’.
This is a pun. The beginning of the word for 'fortune teller' 占い師 (uranaishi) is phonetically similar to the word 裏 (ura) which can mean a lot of things such as 'opposite', 'hidden side', 'hidden shadows', 'more than meets the eye', 'rear'... to that effect. Mod has translated every instance of 'ura' in the lines leading to this bit as 'something else', to insinuate the pun.

So, I actually got around to writing a fic for her! I started writing it quite a bit ago and posted the first chapter a while ago too, but apparently I never announced that I did, so... here it is!

Thanks for the love on this project !
If you are interested, here is an explanation of how I did the mask so that the mandibles can move. (Idk how to do tutorial so this is the best I can with my crappy drawings djdjdjdjd sorry)
I started the base of the mask the same way that the artist @miquililintal (on Instagram) start some of here own mask, by making kind of cardboard helmet.
To have a movable jaw, you need to have this inclined part in the side, and you need to be mindful of where your rotation joint is placed alongside your face.
Don’t quote me on this because it took me a few tries to get it right lmao but I feel like If it’s to low or to high or if it is not inclined enough it won’t be as effective? For me at least it did not move very well when I first tried with a non-inclined base.
When you’re at this step, you can start to build up your mask with all those form, and then you should add a horizontal support bar that is not connected to the jaw part (The jaw part should be left independently so that it can move freely !). You will build your mandible on this horizontal part, by cutting out and assembling two pieces like in this picture below:

Then you add a string from the furthest point possible of your mandible and connect it to the lower point of your movable jaws like pictured below BUT I advised that you do so while wearing the mask and while you have your jaw opened to your maximum and By stretching the string as much as possible so that it can be as effective as possible when it is done.
I colored the string and hid it with a piece of black tissue so that it doesn’t block the thread.
On the picture above I colored the path that the string should take in green.
Thanks to some fursuit tutorial that I came upon on Instagram I learned about this technique from the furry community that uses mesh material like mosquito net so that you can see something without being seen so thank you fursuits maker for sharing your awesome tips this rocks. (the mesh material here is a Christmas table set so you can still see a bit the stars and snow globes and stuff but idc).
Fun fact: the eyes glow in the dark thanks to cool «glow in the dark paint» but idk how to take a picture of that so you’ll have to believe me.

A.R. knew the day would come when his lovely little pet would eventually give in and let him craft him a new body. He actually finished it over a year ago. He knew he would want it eventually, it was inevitable, he could see the thoughts going through H.A.L.’s mind. Hard not to considering what he is.
The body was created with self reproducing nano-machines, with the preprogrammed dataset that only H.A.L. and himself can edit. He may have slid in a few Thief of Mind Hail Marys in the case someone does attempt to gain access. They’ll forget what they were doing depending on how deep they try to go. The worst that would potentially happen is they would forget how to code. He’d do worse but he knows H.A.L. doesn’t wish harm on any other. But that isn’t stopping him from ensuring his pet project is protected.
The body he created was symmetrical, ideal, perfect. He did however, put in any of the suggestions that H.A.L. made. It was to be his body after all, it would be quite rude of him if he hadn’t taken into account what he wanted.
He’d glance over at H.A.L. when he appeared on the transportalizer, H.A.L. waved at him
“Hello again A.R. I do wish this could have been under different circumstances but I am glad to see you again.”
“It can’t be helped, but I am also glad to see you again. You know, I can help. I was able to manipulate my game for it to be winnable, no one died, except to GodTier.”
He’d pause, before continuing
“I merged with that games very code, I’ve found that every sesssion, timeline, and game played are all connected by SBURB’s base code. Which I have unrestricted access to. It wouldn’t be hard for me to get ahold of your specific session’s code. I know, I know, you mentioned before, you don’t want me to interfere like that, because you’re worried things could go wrong. It’s unfounded, but I understand. So, at least allow me this. If you, or any of the players, come across a glitched out quest item, missing quest item, or destroyed quest item. Let me know which one. I can produce the quest item for you, and it will work as it’s supposed to.”
H.A.L. would pause, “I understand, You’ve explained all of this to me before, but I think, unless things take a turn for the worse, we wont need your help, so please, A.R. don’t interfere unless I ask.”
A.R. would sigh, as if he expected the answer. “As you wish, I promise.”
He promised he wouldn’t interfere unless asked of him, and he respects that H.A.L. is worried things could go wrong, even though A.R. prevented his timeline’s demise, -people died, he reversed it, he took their memories of it happening, he changed the outcome - so he can be trusted.
He showed him the body he created “you won’t need to worry about getting ‘killed’ in this body. As long as even one half of a nano is left, the body will repair itself. There are many safety nets in case it does get completely destroyed, you will immediately wake up in your old body. This body I have created, I have a few of its nanos still here, separated, so even if this body gets destroyed in the game, your body will still reform here, and you’ll be able to get back to where you were, they keep track of where they last were before reforming. And put you in a safe spot when teleporting back. I don’t trust any Dirk’s, so I added a safety measure, unless you specifically okay it, they wont be able to do anything to your code. I’ve noticed all players, have a small string of code that is shared amongst all of their alternates that have played the game. Like a serial number, the first few numbers being the same, while the rest can be different, but it still pulls up the same item, even if a little different each time. I know you were worried about your timeline’s Dirk, so I wished to alleviate some of that worry.”
He’d let H.A.L. examine the body, he’d let him choose the next course of action. “I think, this is good. I’m really nervous at how things might go, there’s so many things that could go wrong. Thank you, for making this for me. This eases some of my worries.”
A.R. would offer a small smile “Of course, everything you asked to be implemented into this body, has been. You will be safe. You won’t suffer the way you did in the past.”
He’d gesture for him to take a seat. “You can begin the transfer whenever you feel ready, H.A.L.”

(1.5/5) The struggling Black woman trope is fully on display in this film, evident from the very first scene. The opening shot of Taraji P. Henson's character, perched at the edge of the bed, evokes the melancholic imagery of Blue Monday by Annie Lee—a visual cue that sets the tone for what follows. Yet, given Tyler Perry’s established film-making patterns, it comes as no surprise that this film adheres to the familiar formula.
The first 20 minutes are relentlessly excessive, inundating the protagonist with misfortunes at a breakneck pace. Instead of allowing the audience time to develop an emotional connection with her, Perry opts to overwhelm viewers with a barrage of hardships—each unfolding in real time rather than functioning as a reflective montage. A nightmarish boss, a dead-end job, an exploitative landlord, life in the projects, single motherhood, road rage, a racist cop, eviction, robbery, and even murder—all crammed into the film’s opening act. This relentless string of events, intended to elicit sympathy, ultimately has the opposite effect, feeling forced rather than organic.
The remaining two hours proceed much like Perry’s previous works—layers of narrative fluff leading to an obligatory, yet misplaced, plot twist. By now, Perry is well aware of his audience and understands the formula that keeps them engaged: a marquee Black actor, a familiar supporting cast, an array of conventionally attractive men, and, at the center, a struggling Black woman facing insurmountable odds. In many ways, the Atlanta episode satirizing Perry’s creative approach encapsulates the prevailing criticisms of his films. Still, credit must be given where it is due—his productions continue to create opportunities for Black talent, both on-screen and behind the scenes.
Yet, one lingering question remains: does the presence of accomplished actors in subpar material ultimately diminish their artistic credibility? While not Perry’s weakest effort, this film falls short of standing out among his vast catalog.
A single mother's world unravels in chaos as her day goes from bad to worse to catastrophic as she struggles to care for her ill daughter. Pushed to the brink by a world that seems indifferent to her existence, she's forced to confront impossible choices in a society that offers her no safety net.

design notes: it started with a rainwater collector for the Exoshade, that collector had to be inside a concrete beam within the inner space of the rooftop terrace and it soon branched out into other things
the Exoshade itself needed to fit in its own concrete casing and on the front of that casing, almost in midsection of the solar skin, we could have a vertical support structure consisting of a length wide hardened steel frame with the actual support elements making the junction to the solar skin itself
and the more I looked at it the more it looked as a spine, where in order to produce it a second steel frame and vertical supports needed to be implemented on the front, that way we could split rooftop support into 2 parts rather than having a single row of vertical supports
rooftop equipment wise things fell into place, 3 large fans on top of a radiator for the AC unit, next to it we had a compressor and a dryer, while the Exoshade had its own compressor to inflate its beams and a reverse compressor or vacuum unit to deflate it, it could have been one and the same but we split them for a more efficient operation
the trickiest thing was figuring out the plumbing of all this, and while the AC unit plumbing extended to the back wall then vertically to a lower level where the rest of AC unit equipment would be installed, the Exoshade had its string of challenges, but I think we have succeeded at producing an elegant solution
where carbon beams are inflated or deflated serially starting with a lead beam, where that duct fits in the top steel beam and underneath the solar skin supports where it connected with lead beams serially after that using a transversal duct connecting each beam that fit in the bottom steel frame
ie the Exoshade's carbon beam have valves where that duct is and that allow them to operate as a single unit, or rather as 2 separate sets, which another complications we had to resolve basically by making each set independent of the other
now because compressors can act up how could we make sure that extensible carbon rods, basically air pistons, didn't blow up because of a malfunction, by placing pressure valves to service each set, in red on the side of the back wall for the larger section, and in between the carbon beams of the smaller set
these ensure that if too much pneumatic pressure builds in its carbon rods the Exoshade can release it to the side or in front, which wasn't just a nice option to have, it had to have it or the whole project would have been a failure in the making, ie the day when the air pressure would be too much one or several of these rods would go
aside from safety being the main issue operating the Exoshade any differently would have required precise metrics as to how much air goes into the rods at all times, and that was very complicated to do it even had to account for how much air pressure was in them to start with
last but not least the roof itself was an area that is exposed to rain, and thus a collecting surface of its own, all while we needed address that water wouldn't just form pools and damage equipment casings or even the equipment inside these casings long term
and so we see that AC and Exoshade equipment casings actually have feet that raise them above the floor for some 10cm or so, where by positioning slits in the roof we could effectively make the junction to the rainwater collector below, and so these feed into it
definitely not the least aspect of this whole set up since although not physically part of the Exoshade itself, it is not water that goes into its rainwater nets, it considerably augments the rainwater harvesting capacity of the house
