#my art #marinette dupain cheng #miraculous ladybug #miraculous fanart #style mimic #sorry for the @s btw #yall should go follow those artists if you dont already also #this was sort of inspired by a post the three artists on the top row made #i think they all got together and drew with one another #which is really cool #but i was genuinely confused because i mimic styles a lot #and ive seen others do it too so i was just like #wow they really know each others styles really well #until i thought about it and read their posts some more #style mimicking is really freaking fun and i think its really good practice #and a good way to explore other ways of doing things #like you really have to learn new techniques and get out of your comfort zone #also anna scribbles i could not find a recent pic of marinette in her main outfit #so thats the only marinette i drew in different clothes cuz i couldnt find a more recent ref of you drawing it #anna scribble marinette has privileges thats the others dont #but ye #i also threw my own style in there as a frame of reference to what me draw like #ive drawn marinette before just not in a loooong while #sabertooth walrus was the hardest for me to mimic cuz they have a broad range in their style #so its like which sabertooth do i wanna be in this pic #Buggachat has such a distinct style thats very clean and consistent which is amazing so they were easy #being easy or hard arent bad things either it also has to do with like styles meeting up with one another #buggachats and mine arent too too different in some shapes and aspects #so yeah itd be easier plus they drew marinette like 3 sec ago so i have more recent of a ref #as opposed to sabertooth who i have a recent ref of ladybug but not marinette so we got two diff styles in one

Dude some of those popular so-bad-its-good movies are unironically outsider art and I don’t think they get enough appreciation for that

#Neil breen is absolutely an outsider artist #Mark Regions ‘after last season’ is an outsider art film #yes they are bad movies but they are so unique in how they’re made #the decisions don’t really make sense bc they aren’t rly drawing from how other films are made #or from any technical knowledge of film making #those decisions are entirely from whatever is going on in the creators mind lol #of course the most popular one of them all The Room also is outsider art #genuinely very cool to me that the movie is so beloved lol #like yeah it’s enjoyed in an ironic way it’s unintentional comedy #but I think a big part of that enjoyment comes from the insanity of it #it’s so uniquely Tommy Wiseau no one else could have made it #these movies are SO sinciere

#I've been reminiscing about my older comics #thinking if I should redraw the first one I've ever made because #holy shit that looks like hot garbage #but like #it's still one of my best posts #the whole thing that kickstarted me doing more comics #enjoying bringen stories to life #it's like a piece of my history #its just cool to see how fare I've come as an artist #also like... the first pic was drawn in about 30-40 min at max and the second pic took at least 2 hours if not more #the effort i put into my art has changed so much #i feel so much joy when people laugh at the dum jokes that i make in my art #even back then #all the comments and love and taggs people have left on my posts is what keep me going #y'all having fun with my art is what fuels me and motivates me to make more stuff #bigger projects #it's just been wonderful this last year

i often really do feel like an .. unwanted part of the fandom, i dont draw beautiful landscapes, i have unpopular but strong opinions im constantly annoying about and rarely change, dont like/dont draw the pretty young popular twinks and hot gurls to fanboi over nor do i turn characters into one, the opposite moreso, draw only one ship no ones heard of really, got little energy to interact with the few people that are nice to me and send me asks so it probably looks like im ignoring everyone and unfortunately but still rarely get so stressed i get overwhelmed and emotional about pehaps seemingly minor things and spiral almost into a breakdown feeling super embarrassed about it afterwards but the damage is already done and i look like a freak or agressive weirdo

#digital art #artists on tumblr #illustrators on tumblr #original character #original illustration #sasha's art #this one took much longer than i expected it to because well. thats how things go sometimes #there was a time in my life when i was going through years of abuse and felt like i had no way out of that #this led me to become uncaring and reckless and i was very impulsive at the time #there was this big old abandoned hospital in my home town that was not that far from my parents house #by this point in life i felt like i had lost all relationships with people previously close to me and i was not making any new ones out of-#-fear but also because i was isolationg myself (unknowingly)#because i was a child i percieved exploring this building as doing something Unsafe and Dangerous (and i guess it was in the sense that-#-things could fall on me if i wasn't careful)#but anyway i decided going there was going to be my Safe Place #as abandon buildings seem to be so seductive to teenagers it turned out this place was already a popular hang out spot for many teens #so i decided my best course of action would be to sneak out of my room at night/ dawn and go do art at this place when it was safe from-#-other teens lmao #it made me feel Edgy and Cool and Dangerous (even though looking back this was one of the safest activities i was engaging in lmao)#anyways #i replaced all my close human relationships with an abandoned house at the time (maybe theres a metaphor in there somewhere but. i do not-#(-want to see it)#at the time the thing i wanted the most in the world was to die and this was the place it was supposed to happen #luckily i made a deal with myself for ten more years and this ended up saving my life #so i have many mixed emotions about this place. it was there for me when i was at my lowest and loneliest. it was supposed to be my last #a few years ago i took my two best friends there (hadn't told them this story then yet) and i had a wonderful day and felt Loved #it was a weird feeling to feel there #i decided not to take them into the house and i don't think i will ever go in again #but i am glad i had it back when i needed it i guess #i wonder if theres still any of my old art supplies hidden about somewhere

Some new art of a very very old oc of mine! From like, when I was an 8th grader in middle school to freshman in high school I think, I haven’t thought about this character or the world she’s from in like… years, but my brain suddenly remembered she existed! And so I drew some art of her!

Visually, she’s absolutely mostly the result of my child self sticking Toko Fukawa from Danganronpa and Peacock from Skullgirls in a blender and lettin it fuckin rip. Personality wise she’s a bit different tho… she’s into politics! As in,,, she’s in politics ghgh, she’s like the chief of the surveillance department for the country of (mostly) witches that the story takes place in. And one of the advisors to the head ruler witch,,, she sucks! Hardcore! she’s def a villain lol

Honestly kids who're being exposed to their first couple of art classes against their own will should just be given pinterest and then told to send nice messages to artists they like. I think that would be cool.

#It would be nice I think #A lot of kinds are just given the tools without the motivation #And see artists as some weird far off creature that makes them look bad #So just give them pinterest. Tell them to look at some cool artwork.#And if they find an artist that's still alive they can have as a bonus assignment to find whatever means of contact they have #and send a nice message #Wouldn't that just be bomb #You'd see tons of artists online just be like 'Ah I see the kids are having art classes again.' And they'd just have sweet comments #And the artists could send back like tips or reccomendations on where to start or what inspired them #Like #Yeah :)#There was some old post about that happening with a writer in like one rare scenario #But generally speaking I think seeing artists as people instead of just the works that they've made is healthy #Both for artists and for kids
