LOL JK, this is a style study I made in a day and a half! See my process below
I started by just redrawing a TON of screenshots from the pilot while updating them to the new design:
Honestly for the screentime he had he got SO MUCH FUN POSES auggg I can't get over it. After all this I could successfully draw him by memory:
I mapped out a simple take and did a tiedown/cleanup. Tried to capture that signature snappiness Hazbin has, took awhile to get the timing right but was made a lot easier by studying the pilot frame-by-frame.
Finally, I made a background based on the hotel balcony. I threw it all on After Effects and added some dust particles, highlight masks and a little zoom out:
And that's that (the .mp4 is a lot smoother than the gif mind you)! Was a lot of fun, I wouldn't mind doing more animation style studies
It’s choppy, my voice stands out like a sore thumb, and Pencil2D messed up my audio so I had to add it through some random site online (resulting in a watermark)-
But I worked on this for about 15 hours and it left me feeling DEAD yesterday so I’m sharing it anyways ✨✨✨
I wish I had/knew how to use flash and knew how to make like, puppets or whatever, so I can do stuff like this a lot nicer (instead of moving everything by hoof, er, hand within Clip Studio)
So this is me in the style of El Tigre! You could tell I had to redesign it as soon as I finished the first cuz I thought it would look better and I was right! Would watch the show CONSTANTLY growing up and it has always inspired me when drawing and writing. Loved the funky shapes and references to my culture! Anyways the drawing on the right is special though because it is a character credit for an El Tigre Reanimated project! So be on the look out for that and I’ll definitely share my part when I’m done animating it! ❤️❤️❤️
