reveal of my gordon hlvrai costume project, now that about half of it is done! this is cardstock and glue and tape and more glue and paint and velcro. and 2 gloves (one hand-sewn)

i got started sometime in early-mid fall, but i committed to making it work with cardstock in january- it was originally meant to be a sizing test before construction with eva foam over the summer. then i realized how expensive thatd be, too much pressure for a form of craft ive never practiced. im pretty amazed with how its come together, even with the large seams! during that whole time when it was unpainted (started painting two weeks ago) there was no way to tell

Hi there, I was just wondering what your process for drawing human and fishy guy torsos? I was curious because it looks really good and I struggle in that area

I’m gonna tell you a secret….

I don’t have a process.

I don’t use references or anything like that. I just sketch until it looks right.

Some examples so that this post has meaning.

Small suggestion when drawing people/bodies: dont draw everything as if it were just a separate thing on its own. Heads have necks that lead to torsos. Torsos have arms that end with hands and fingers. This not only helps with posing and perspective, giving you the opportunity to cut off whatever you need for an art piece, but it also gets you into the mindset of how bodies work. You have to move muscles in your arm to bend your thumb. Everything works together, so drawing it as such really helps.

USE REFERENCES!! Don’t be like me! I am simply stubborn and comfortable with what I am doing, but if you are seeking improvement, use references. I’m trying to get into the habit for the sake of my future. And do your research. Not every fat person is the same, not every trans person is the same. People are different, bodies are different. And it’s fun to draw different people. There is not such thing as ugly. Beauty standards set by society are a scam.

I might post some of my non fnaf ocs here just for reference if that helps. They come in all shapes and sizes, and as someone that is still learning, I like to show my art for constructive criticism!! I’m still working on drawing bigger people since I haven’t been practicing much unfortunately, but that doesn’t mean I can’t learn.

I know this probably wasn’t what you wanted and I wish I was better at explaining literally anything, but I hope that everything I did provide helped in a way.

Stay away from those how to draw books. They suck.

Requires [Reshade] be installed for your game. Specifically OtisFX's addons; most notably magic border!

Works for most games, especially more modern ones, not all.

This is a very short and sweet tutorial, as this is very easy. This is absolutely best paired with a flycam, be it a mod, and extension, a tool or just the in game fly cam.

This is the sort of effect we are going for;

First, you must make sure you have the full Reshade edition installed for your game. When installing the full version it will ask if you wish to install addon's and you want to select yes, and select OtisFX's addon's or you can pick out just Magic Border if you want.

Once in game with Reshade installed select Home and go on down to Magic Border and toggle it on. It's gonna look like this to start;

You'll notice it has 1 as the starting depth, you will need to change this. Depending on the game, your FOV etc. you may need a large number or a small one, I suggest starting at 50 and going up or down depending on if this 'border' and the pane in between has gone behind the character.

For Shepard here, I just needed 38, 37 and 39 caused clipping. Could I have refined this down to the pixel? yes! the .00 can be adjusted too.

Once you have the depth honed in, you want to select your color

I actually like to fiddle with the alpha slider too, creates some neat effects.

**Something to keep note of here is if you don't know what color you want in the gif you can pick a color that isn't in the scene and color change in photoshop. Some of the color from the border will bloom onto the character, but it generally isn't too bad.

Once you have the color, copy and paste the code at the bottom(highlighted in the screenshot) into the frame color and done, record your gif and you are good to go!

Hi, and thank you so much for the question and the compliment, it truly means a lot!

I'm sorry this took so long to get to, but I put together a tutorial that I hope will help! The way I draw Pepperman is a bit different compared to others, so here's a breakdown of how I like to do it.

I also would like to mention two great artists in particular that are true Pepperman scholars and draw him in a much more faithful way, while still adding their own flair to him!

I highly recommend checking out @jellazticious and @beefy-the-stronk! They both really know how to capture Phil's charm and silliness, and I feel that they understand him as a character very well. You can learn a lot from how they draw him!

Either way, I hope this was easy enough to understand, and that it can help someone understand how I draw Pepperman. Thanks again for the message!

Another one of the paintings I did this week, was playing around with lighting and felt like painting Zuko, so I did. :D (oh yeah - and a close up if you're interested - you can see the sketch lines if you squint, but I reckon that's part of the charm~ *smiles innocently)

jeans to y2k/tripp inspired skirt ݁ ˖ִ ࣪✩₊ ⊹˚

I thrifted some jeans recently, not knowing if they would fit me, but buying it anyway bc 1) it was €1 and 2) if it didn't fit I could surely make something with it.

turns out it was wayyy too small 😂 so I decided it would be perfect to make one of those tripp/y2k skirts with!

firstly I cut off the legs just above the crotch. I then tried it on, found it was too tight still, and added two strips of leftover fabric on either side. it fits perfectly now!

then I cut the remaining pant legs in even strips and connected them all to make one long strip. I folded ruffles of 5cm along the length, and sewed it in place before I sewed it onto the bottom of the skirt!

and just like that, I have a new skirt 𓆩♡𓆪 I might add some strips with d rings on it once I figure out the placement ^_^ but for now it's done
