Hello! I've realised Tumblr has made the decision to not show icons from reblogging users in my desktop dashboard. This decision is truly impractical for most of the userbase, who are used to identifying the people they follow by icon. It makes the user experience actively worse. Besides from that, I also want to report the feature that takes you to a rebbloging user blog when you click on it instead of taking you to their reblog on their blog. Also, clicking on the post shouldn't take you directly to the OG poster blog. Clicking on previous reblogs and ''tracking'' the flow of reblogs that took the post of your dashboard is common practise (as is checking out the tags). Please do understand these measures aren't improving the site: not for newcomers nor for the longtime userbase. People do not come to the site for a Twitter/IG/Tiktok replica, they come for its unique features that you're slowly stripping away. These are: - Tags. They aren't an useless hashtag system like IG, they are a genuine organisation system when searching for specific content. In reblogs, they serve as organisation and as commentary. Commentary in the tags is one of the most unique feautures of the site. - Reblogs as flexible and creative intervention. Different versions of the same post can circulate for years. We have posts from a decade ago still appearing on our dashboards. It's one of the better features of the site --- trend cycles don't span a few days like other social media. - This is a blogging site as well as a social media site. Embrace that, please. Access to the desktop view (where you could customise a blog's html look) as well to easy access to the Account is unique and essential. The sidebar doesn't work. It doesn't look good and it's clunky UX-wise.

About Sejanus: For me Coriolanus doesn't even think through, he was on the verge of panic attack and act, and then regret, and then try to justify himself, and then Sejanus was put in jail and he is in full panic attack mode and try to call Strabo because he doesn't want to kill his only friend for real (he can tell himself he despise him how many times he wants but in reality he grows fond of him) and then he is only defeated. He crossed the line. He can not go back. He doesn't know how to forgive himself.

I've fallen behind on dracula daily right before the 50 pages update and I can't read on my phone for too long before getting distracted or falling asleep so I've been trying to find alternative ways to catch up fast without having to read half a book on a screen that wasn't made for it

I tried getting the novel on my ereader to see if I could hop between sections so I could still read chronologically but turns out stoker Really didn't intend for it to be read that way because the book is divided in a way that would make it very difficult to do

so the solution I found was copypasting the text from the substack archives into a free online text to speech program...

and even tho the voice is close to the passive aggressive tiktok default voice and it reads the abreviation for "doctor" as "drive", "mina" as "my na", and gets which "lives" is being used wrong most of the time, it's working🙏

i think my whole life can be summed up in this gem of a comment i got the other night on my “stop martyring chris and move on already” post:

“hi, hannah. i don’t think you should be telling people how to feel and what to do especially since you’re supposedly above that yourself.” (i deleted the post because it was bothering me but i copypasted that comment right away)

okay, first off—and i also apply this to tumblr, knowing the extent of it all on here—nowhere did i say anything about telling people what to do: i said stop martyring chris because it’s been five years and you people are killing yourselves by holding onto the grief (then again, she’s a joe rogan fan, i don’t expect her to think that broadly). second, patronize me again and i’ll break your fingers—she also once deleted a post from me because it had a gif in it. yeah. yeah, i am not joking.

she also added something about everyone coming together by this event and i just have to laugh at that. i was pushed out and everyone collectively forgot about me. yeah, reeeeeal nice coming together.

there was another comment begging me to stay and post more art. as far as i can see, facebook couldn’t care less if my career bombed. you post memes and politics (and not in the alex skolnick way where i can genuinely learn something from it; i once again feel as though i’m being yelled at) and personal bullshit that is so hard for me to take seriously, that’s all you’re getting. you made your bed: you have to lay in it.  moreover, i don’t know how i crossed paths with any of these people, tbh. none of them have a genuine love of art. think: daveigh/xxgreendruidessxx’s whole “i am not an artist” shtick but multiplied by a thousand. however, and i genuinely mean this, too, because i know she stalks my blog: if there is without a doubt any compliment i can genuinely give her, it’s that she actually attempts it. i keep saying it, she’s the real bully here given what she’s put me through but it’s something, though. it shows me that even the biggest piece of work is willing to get in touch with her humanity because that’s what art is in its purest form, sans the ~clean lines~ and the staged instagram sets and filters and the 100 mile an hour tiktok videos (i don’t know how anyone can learn to draw from those, so i can only assume that it’s all for show and that’s horribly stupid and fake). it’s all about expressing humanity and that is something i have deep respect for.

whereas i either get blocked for my art, i get those really annoying “i wish i had talent” comments—no one wants those, so stop saying it—or i get patronized. even art groups on there are unbearable: see the drama from my posting my cartoons in that cartoonist group. all i did was share my cartoons and a shitstorm rained down on me. artists on facebook are just browbeating and bullying and oozing contempt for newbies and outsiders and anyone different now that it makes me wonder where i can go: they literally despise and look down on anyone who isn’t exactly like them (even the big name artists, the bohemians, you’d find in like l.a. or new york back in the 70s and 80s would look at this and say they’re going too far). all it does is make me want a safe place.

You've got ineffective YouTube "comedians" who do the absolute bare minimum for their earnings. Break down any observational comedy video in the last seven years and it's essentially just "I add some half-assed jokes and maybe a pun over this viral video and then that's it". The comedian gets millions, no credit to whoever they lifted content from, and the viewer gets an ad that you can't even skip or use an Adblock for because it's IN THE VIDEO.

And incumbent celebrities doing social media trends are even worse. I don't care if you have a Vine, or a TikTok, or a tumblr, or an overly-polished YT channel with an entire filming team that's helping you look "casual and relatable". You are not one of us and you cannot become one of us. Go back to making terrible movies or music or whatever you do.

Why are the lower classes always encouraged to scrape what little money we already have together to help ourselves when there are richer people, trying to "relate to the fans" on social media, that we can harass into helping? Forget the billionaires, they aren't people and cannot be redeemed; I think that ANYONE who makes over six figures a year should be helping the communities they profit off after doing the absolute bare minimum in the name of "entertainment".
