Y/n was never satisfied in the position he was forced to be in, and neither was he ever mentally or physically ready for the throne. His ascension was undisputed, as the first in line to the throne, he was always treasured and pampered like a god because that was what he was supposed to be, the head of the empire, the centre of every and all lifecycle in it and their protector.

For a guy who never went out of the palace, to be thrown suddenly into the foremost castle of the capital for training was a traumatic experience. But, while he used to train with weapons in the morning, he sneaked into the kitchen of the castle to learn to cook secretly with the help of the head chef.

In the main palace, doing this was an impossibility due to the presence of the king and the queen who had every line drawn in stones, but here, y/n was the highest-ranking royal, so he was able to change a few things.

After 7-8 months of training, he was supposed to move to the very frontlines of the empire and do a border tour before the coronation but, just after 2 months of training it was clear to most of the high-ranked warriors that the crown prince was not ready. He was too naive to attack, too clumsy in the armour, too depressed to have the will to do better and was becoming weaker as the days went by because of this burden.

On the other hand, y/n was already a great cook, well-versed even in local medicinal plants and soups. The head chef was very proud of the young prince for being such a diligent learner.

Y/n realised soon into the training that he never wanted to finish the process, that would mean going to the borders and coronation and he was in his own words "just incapable of taking care of the whole empire." His younger sister would do a better job than him, she was already an admiral of a victorious fleet which out mastered many neighbouring nations. Her character was even stronger than the current king.

But for that to happen, y/n would have to die. How can he leave end this life when he has so much to do, so many wishes to fulfil, yet he knew he cannot go on like this too.

One night during the eleventh hour when y/n was reading a cookbook describing the ways teas can be healing, he heard a scratchy sound outside his chamber. As his positioning in the castle was supposed to be very strategic, he knew the dungeons close by had treasury for the castle.

Was it a test? Were the officials trying to test whether the crown prince would go head-on into such a situation without notifying others? After all, he was supposed to become an expert in warfare, a persona y/n was disgusted by.

He slowly mustered up his courage and went to the treasury with a cat-like movement.

Due to it being only candle-lit, there was a lot of darkness down the stairs and before he could reach the bottom, he slipped.

Y/n ended up in the treasury with a sprained ankle and was in so much pain that he actually started to cry but stopped when he heard a sound. "Oh, look what we have here. A royal insignia... You must be the crown prince, my pleasure to meet you, your royal highness." The guy was taller than y/n, clad in skin-tight black attire, he looked as if another royal just walked in front of y/n.

"Are you a gentleman?" Y/n absent-mindedly uttered and got a hearty laugh as a reply. "Name's Juyeon sir, I am just a passerby, who thought why not take some treasure to my friends, you must have heard of them, the famous bandits called TBZ."

Something is wrong, this guy's voice and presence should scream danger but for y/n it is as if he was engulfed in a warmth that not even his family ever provided him. TBZ have vandalised many of the castles protecting major ports, obviously, y/n heard of them.

"I see you are not well, you look sick my prince, I will just take my portion and silently leave, you should get better soldiers, by the way, they did not even hear me sneaking in."

"Why are you not afraid of me? I am the heir to the throne, you are one of the most wanted criminals, yet you talk as if we can not harm each other. Why such bravado?" Y/n merely whispered it all as he began feeling pain in his leg again and hissed while lightly touching his ankle.

Juyeon came closer to the prince and softly bent to look at y/n's leg. "You have sprained it, you were crying a few moments ago, and you look so pale and unaccustomed to the surroundings, the weapons you carry and the way you talk too. Do you think I will be scared of you, my prince? I will leave, you should pull the bell if you want."

"Wait!" Y/n screamed as he tried to get up but he hit something in the dark and fell again. "Wait..." he whimpered, "Take me with you."

'What!? Take you with me? Why? Where? Do I look that kind to you?" "No, please listen, take me with you, out of here, I know your gang has routes around other kingdoms too, please, I don't want to go on like this, please, help me." Y/n tearfully whispered these words as if a prayer for salvation.

"Are you sure about it? You are the next king, what about this empire? I don't want my people to be hunted for kidnapping the crown prince."

"Yes, just, help me cross the border, I will be fine." "Okay."

Juyeon picked up the prince and carried him out of the castle on his back, then with the help of his friends outside he covered y/n up and they left for the kingdom in the East of the empire.

After a week's journey, Juyeon realised that y/n was never let out in the real world, so he had no social inhibition and often was a target of weirdos praying on his naivete. Y/n was so curious about everything that Juyeon had to conform to the rest of the members of his gang that he did not mean any harm as y/n really just want to know things for the sake of it.

Y/n on the other hand was fascinated and now that his leg healed completely thanks to the medicinal balms Juyeon gave him, he roamed around in the foreign land freely looking at the people in the market with awe and talking to the spic merchants and florists.

Y/n and Juyeon lived outside a city in a forest area, this base was supposed to be safe and was well connected to the main routes to the city and port. Since Juyeon brought the prince, he was given the responsibility to look over him which in reality was to look after him.

One day y/n asked Juyeon to bring some vegetables and berries and other food items promising nothing will go to waste as he was tired of just bread and soup. And that was the day Juyeon decided that if anytime y/n was to leave him, the first thing he will miss would be the food made by him. Even though y/n was clumsy all around, in the kitchen he was a magician, weeks went by as Juyeon would return from the city to meals only his moans while eating could describe, rest of the members when they came to check upon them found it all too domestic and started referring y/n as the house-husband and homemaker.

Through this time Juyeon began to understand y/n more and more and wanted to protect the prince even from minor scratches he had while cooking or just randomly stumbling and falling. He would never want to see the prince as he saw him in the treasury again. This y/n was healthier, happier and livelier than anything he ever experienced, this was the prince he was blessed with, his prince.

"My prince." He suddenly uttered as y/n was sitting beside him on the same sofa, trying to understand how to weave something, while Juyeon was admiring him.

"Yes?" "What?" "You said my prince, you tell what." "I did?" "Yes, Juyeon, you just said it and after such a long time."

Juyeon liked y/n. It was made clear to everyone on the day he almost killed a gang of three middle-aged warriors who tried to have their way with y/n when the prince got lost in the market and got separated from Juyeon. Only one hand was able to rip the veil off the face of the prince he always wore to hide his identity, in that very moment, the very hand got cut and fell off with the now mythologized remark heard by the child whom y/n was trying to save from the three men, "move one step closer to him and next will be that leg."

It was a blood bath and if y/n wouldn't have cried to stop Juyeon for the sake of the child who would be traumatised beyond help seeing it all, Juyeon would have killed those three men.

Since then, that child frequented their home and they got to know that he was the only one left in the family as those loan sharks killed his parents for money. Y/n asked his name, but the child did not know so he named the child Ruka. Now, Ruka was referred to by the city people as y/n and Juyeon's child and this provided him security too. Nobody dared to touch people related to the TBZ.

After all of this fiasco y/n got pretty scared and they started sleeping in the master bedroom together, when Ruka was not with any one of his friends, he joined them too.

One morning y/n got up to an embarrassing hard-on as he had a very sensual dream about Juyeon. And before he could leave the bed, Juyeon hugged him from the back and whispered "you moaned my name with such passion and are now leaving me alone in the bed like this."

It was too much for the virgin prince to handle, the voice, the bare chest, the breath at the back of his neck.

"Ju-juyeon, what are you saying? Let me go please." Rather than doing that Juyeon moved his hands in y/n's shirt and whispered again. "Remember when you said you wanted to learn about sex and I said you were not ready? Let me teach you now, my prince." His hand flicked y/n's left nipple while speaking, making y/n moan.

Curiosity to know about his body and pleasure Juyeon came over y/n and the next thing he knew, he was being guided to touch the bare abs of the same person he has liked for so long.

"You can touch me, baby, my dear prince, I am all yours." And so y/n did, his hands were moving on their own as he touched every curve and admired every ridge of Juyeons bare upper body. The muscles he admired from afar as Juyeon walked semi-naked around the house, were divine to touch, this must be the holy grail, this knowledge and body must be godly.

Slowly, Juyeon was on top of y/n kissing, licking and biting as if claiming his reward finally, the real treasure he found in that castle was this person and all the love and warmth he got from him.

As he began eating y/n out, the prince was a crying moaning mess, so much pleasure, he did not know what to do, his tongue failed him and only broken syllables of Juyeon's name were echoing through the bedroom. Then he came for the first time and his scream was enough to make Juyeon too come back to reality as he was so engrossed in eating the other out he forgot to look up. And the sigh was heaven to behold, y/n looked like salvation, the answer to his own prayer in that treasury. This was the liberation they both needed.

As Juyeon inserted himself in y/n and as he picked up his pace, he made sure to wrap the other up around him tightly to hold him, suck his nipples, and kiss his lips in such desperation that after they were done and Juyeon finally came for the first and y/n for the nth time. Both were sure that their bodies had no boundaries from each other, just one vast sweaty mass heaving and kissing as if itself.

"You did so well my prince, so good for me. I will never let you go." Ple-ase, d-dont let me go. I love you, so much, you are my god, how... how will I live without you?"

With such declarations, they left the bed together to have a warm bath. That evening when the members found out about what had happened due to y/n's loose shirt and him proudly wearing the marks Juyeon left, all anyone would ask was a date for marriage.

David Stewart, 1st Duke of Rothesay was born on October 24th 1378.

David was the son of John, Earl of Carrick and heir to the throne, and Annabella Drummond. His grandfather was King Robert II, who was himself the grandson of Robert I the Bruce. Robert III had been kicked by a horse two years before his coronation and as well as physical injury he suffered from melancholia, or depression as we know it.

The King’s younger brother, confusingly also called Robert, was the Earl of Fife and he assumed the Lieutenancy and took control of the governance of Scotland during the early part of Robert III’s reign.

The Earl of Fife and 19-year-old David Stewart were created Dukes, the first in Scotland, in 1398, David was created Duke of Rothesay, his uncle, Duke of Albany. Albany’s grip on power had seemed secure at first but as her husband’s health deteriorated, Queen Anabella began to take more control, and she also pushed the cause of her son David as the heir, arranging for him to become the Lieutenant in 1399. The problem was David’s personality – he was a self-indulgent wild child, who grew increasingly debauched as his teens wore on.

He was also arrogant to a fault, and despite being engaged and probably married to Elizabeth Dunbar, daughter of the Earl of March, he decided for dynastic reasons to marry Mary Douglas, daughter of the hugely powerful 3rd earl of Douglas, known as Archibald the Grim.

The Earl of March was furious and switched allegiance to King Henry IV of England who promptly invaded Scotland but had to go home when Edinburgh Castle thwarted his siege. Poor David got the blame for the invasion and his already sagging popularity hit a new low.

When both Archibald the Grim and his mother died in 1401, the Duke of Rothesay was in a very vulnerable position as his uncle Albany moved to complete his control of the kingdom. Albany was assisted in this by Archibald, 4th Earl of Douglas who greatly disliked Rothesay.

Early in 1402, Albany moved to consolidate his power by conspiring with Archibald Douglas to have his nephew David arrested and imprisoned in Albany’s Falkland Palace in Fife on trumped up charges.

It was there that David died on March 26, 1402, most probably from starvation. Whether he was murdered or not is unknown. The official verdict was that Rothesay died of natural causes but the circumstances said otherwise.

His father, the weak and ineffectual King Robert III, presided over a council of enquiry and had to put his name to a document which exonerated Albany and Douglas. He wrote:

“We consider as excused the aforementioned Robert and Archibald, and anyone who took part in this affair with them, that is any who arrested, detained, guarded, gave them advice, and all others who gave them counsel, help or support, or executed their order or command in any way whatsoever, and in our said council we openly and publicly declared, pronounced and determined definitively and by the tenor of this our present document declare, pronounce, and by this definitive sentence judge them and each of them to be innocent, harmless, blameless, quit, free and immune completely in all respects.”

Robert even ordered the end to malignant rumours:

“Wherefore we strictly order and command all and singular our subjects, of whatever standing or condition they be, that they do not slander the said Robert and Archibald and their participants, accomplices or adherents in this deed, as aforesaid, by word or action, nor murmur against them in any way whereby their good reputation is hurt or any prejudice is generated, under all penalty which may be applicable hereafter in any way by law.”

The opposition silenced, Albany was in complete control and remained so even after Robert III died in 1406, his younger son James became King. But having fled from the marauding Douglas's, young James was at that time in the custody of the English court and would remain an exile for 18 years.

Ok Lady K. Tin hat time. I’ve seen that a few energy readers and tumblr blogs opine that MM , Doria and kids are up in Canada without the ginger whinger. Either at the Russian oligarchs house or at Jessica Mulroney house, secluded. So she may be at their cottage in Quebec. Since Jessica suddenly posted the Harkle wedding pic I tend to believe the latter. She might have hit her up to become her stylist for the coronation. Or they’re at the oligarchs house and she’s in contact with Jessica.

I also believe the divorce is sooner than later. Harold messed up with the Taliban kills, so he’s pissed off afghanistan and Iran now. It caused quite the diplomatic incident. There’s no way the foreign office in gonna allow them in to a state occasion. They will be banned. Markle played herself, she thought mentioning the Taliban would guarantee them IPP status. Wrong. And did you see Ann and Edward’s comments about not wanting them around because they may end up in the paperback? Since when has Ann leaked anything to the press? Charles is clever old fox. He saw with his own eyes the beating the Wales and Camilla took in the book and decided to post Ann on the battlements to take the heat off William. She can take the blame when the time comes.

IMO shes only hanging on for the coronation, it’s gonna be in the history books, it’s extremely important to Markle and if Harold can’t deliver the coronation, he’s toast. She’s outta here.

I tend to agree with that theory. Did you see Mad World Tarot's 12 month overlayed reading for M&H, they both got Queen of Cups in May... So I feel like that means they are completely left out. They won't be there imho.

My previous readings have shown that it is all over by the end of January. (either an official separation or even announcement of a divorce). However as you know things can change through choice and free will.

Perhaps I need to do another divorce reading.....? Maybe to find out first if M is indeed in Canada, remember a reading I did that suggested there would be legal issues around finances (eg. IRS, company fraud?). Perhaps she fled to Canada because those investigations are underway and she is aware of them. Is H even a taxpayer in the US? The final manuscript was sent out of London for publishing, which I thought was strange since it was written presumbly in the US, perhaps his earnings have been kept in the UK?

8 May 2023 As the Coronation weekend draws to a close, my wife and I just wanted to share our most sincere and heartfelt thanks to all those who have helped to make this such a special occasion. We pay particular tribute to the countless people who have given their time and dedication to ensuring that the celebrations in London, Windsor and further afield were as happy, safe and enjoyable as possible. To those who joined in the celebrations - whether at home, at street parties and lunches, or by volunteering in communities - we thank you, each and every one. To know that we have your support and encouragement, and to witness your kindness expressed in so many different ways, has been the greatest possible Coronation gift, as we now rededicate our lives to serving the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and Commonwealth. I don’t think Charles should have included that picture. It’s giving mixed signals, he’s a non elected head of state and his second son has brought nothing but embarrassment to the country. These kind of things just strengthen h&ms link to the BRF.

It’s one picture in a 84-page booklet that frankly, a lot of people probably won’t even buy. This isn’t the official coronation picture or anything like that; it’s just the most recent official pictures of Charles, his sons and their families. It’s not that big of a deal imo and honestly the fact that the media is spinning this as an ‘olive branch’ is wild to me.

You guys know how interested I am in fashion when it comes to my fics. I’ve done a couple of fashion post about myrah in fcc. But I’m also interested in the fashion transitions both Helaena and Alicent go through as they ease into their new roles as queen consort and queen mother respectively (in fcc).

As stated before, I see Myrah, once she married and officially a mainstay at court, ushering in the Burgundian type of clothing popular in the Vale. A style that was more than likely also worn a lot in KL when Aemma was around. Houppelandes, brocade fabric, elaborate sleeves, and fun headwear like: headbands, ribbon in the hair, barbettes, and different types of hennins. this is also coupled with the style she gets from the different cultures in her life (dornish, Myrish, summer islander). But I think the Vale style would be more of a hit amongst the stuffy court crowd

Now onto how this compares to Helaena and Alicent.

Alicent is dressed like this when we first see her post time jump. There is a slight change in her pre driftmark versus post driftmark fits. Pre - she plays a bit more with her sillouttes, specifically her necklines and sleeves. Post - we get high neck lines, more intricate details. She’s leaning into the established queen and pious figure look.

Imo Alicent not only adopted green as a sign of her loyalties to her home, but green specifically this deep emerald shade, is very mature. Alicent became queen at 15 (viserys and otto you’re going to hell), and becomes the green queen around 17/18. We see her trying to act more grown up bc of it. I think she never transitioned out of that feeling, even as an actual adult. She is a teenage essentially stuck in an adult woman’s body

In reponse to Alicent, ladies at court adopt this style. A more conservative, almost stiff look. Either opting for other mature colors (deep blues, browns, purples etc. lots jewel tones) and or just green as well.

As Alicent takes a more behind the scenes role and transitions into queen mother/grandmother, she changes silhouettes more and even *gasp* plays with prints. Still more rich colors. I think she would even go back to the fun sleeves and capes like before her more conservative looks. She feels less restrained to the color green or the tighter sillouettes bc the thing she feared so much (losing her children) is behind her.

There would be a shift in color palettes and styles as Helaena becomes the new hbic (affectionately). While Alicent wanted to lean into how she is feeling at the moment, creating an air of power/isolation or piety with her styling, I think Helaena would take a different approach.

Her transition into a fashion it girl is a bit more organic (???) than her mother’s. Simply because Helaena is more of a ‘oooh that’s pretty I’m just gonna wear it’ type of person while Alicent wanted to curate a certain image for herself, at least in the beginning for the both of them. Helaena is far more youthful and whimsical. She’s not afraid of showing a bit of skin, and enjoys unique patterns/prints

The top looks are more day to day, while the bottom when she really wants to show up and show out. Helaena by nature is not a flashy person so those moments are few and far between. I don’t mind the dresses she wears in the show, especially the blue coronation one. But something about the lack of visible waistlines reads as matronly to me sometimes. So, I see her trying out shorter bodices. For the most part, she keeps the pastel, and girly colors she likes.

I added the pic we got from on set for s2 bc I think it also works with what I mean about her looking more her age in dresses that arent just straight up and down. The more dimension the better. I don’t see fcc Helaena wearing darker colors like this often tho. Random tinhat but I think in s2 we are going to see Helaena adopt darker colors after ***. A bit contrast to the light ones we see her wearing most of the time.

Anyway, as usual, the court ladies follow suit. Older noble women would not opt for the lower cut dresses, but still follow the light colors and higher waist lines. Younger girls are living for this. As Helaena gets more comfortable, she understands the power in what she does. She gets championed as beloved for her gentle nature in the book. So, I like the idea of as she gets more politically minded she understands how the playfulness of her clothing lends itself to that, and she leans into it.

as of right now you can purchase bleed out, dark in here, getting into knives, and a 20th anniversary version of all hail west texas available through the official tmg merch page! in the us, anyway. those same albums are also available to buy through merge records' page. i own gik and ahwt cassettes as well so if you look through my tags for those albums you can see pics.

historically, the mountain goats have been a very cassette-oriented band. if you look through their discogs catalogue page, you can see at a glance what albums have only been released on cassette.

the cassete-only albums are mostly the albums from the 90s, stuff from tmg's mostly and totally independent eras. Some of their most famous albums have actually never been released officially on cassette, despite being recording on the panasonic. I would die for a 25th anniversary cassette release of the coroner's gambit.

they also release some special material on cassettes occasionally, like songs for pierre chuvin or all survivor's pack. songs for pierre chuvin did eventually get a cd release but irrc it was about a year after the fact?

the exception here would be hot garden stomp and the hound chronicles, which were released together on cd in 2015. they're not listened under their individual album listing on discogs because that cd release is not *technically* the same album.

other than the albums that you can buy from their merch store right now, the best places to find their cassettes are ebay and depop, or if you have any local thrift stores, those are good too. but they can be pretty hard to come across. songs for pierre chuvin cassettes are common-ish on ebay but tend to be very very expensive.

tldr: tmg's three most recent studio releases and a special version of ahwt are avaliable to purchase through official means atm. other releases have been made and thrift stores are the best place to find them in my experience. discogs is my go-to to search for what has been released in what formats, and you can tell by going to the tmg catalogue page and clicking on the album title you're interested in.

i could go on, but those are my basic thoughts. hope this answers your question!

Qingcang is jealous of Xiao Lan Hua’s love for Changheng. He’s so cute trying to make sense of all these new emotions!

So Changheng’s brother is the guy I thought was his father, the one who’s like a king. He wants Changheng to marry Chidi so Changheng rejects Xiao Lan Hua in order to protect her. It’s painful to watch.

WORST WATER SPECIAL EFFECTS I’VE EVER SEEN. And I’ve seen Tientsin Mystic. Why write an underwater scene if you don’t wanna put your actors actually underwater?

Dylan Wang looks GREAT soaking wet. The hair tendrils really add to his already perfect face.

Changheng asks Ronghao Masked Man about the evil spirit. Ronghao Masked Man says it’s Qingcang’s doing. How does Changheng not recognize his friend under that mask?!?!

Changheng goes to Arbiter Hall after Qingcang and finds him there. They fight in a forest because Qingcang doesn’t want to destroy the place. That’s very considerate of him.

During the fairy nomination ceremony, Turtle God Xuanwu refers to Xiao Lan Hua as old friend and tells her she’s special. She’s confused, of course. She’s accused of being not a fairy but a member of the bad news Moon Tribe. Uh oh. Changheng’s brother tries to arrest her but Qingcang arrives and chaos ensues. The CGI is decent.

Then Qingcang fights Changheng outside and escapes with Xiao Lan Hua. He takes her to his tribe. We’re introduced to his brother Xunfeng, who isn’t happy to see him back. He gives me Xue Yang vibes.

Xiao Lan Hua is having a hard time adapting to life in the Moon Tribe. Qingcang hates that Xiao Lan Hua still thinks about Changheng. Baby, it's called jealousy.

Xunfeng hates Qingcang because Qingcang killed their father and took the throne. I love him already so whatever he does in the future, he did nothing wrong. #XunfengApologist

Qingcang builds a replica of Arbiter Hall to cheer Xiao Lan Hua up but it only makes her more homesick. Harsh words are thrown around and Qingcang says he never loved or cared for Xiao Lan Hua, he only protected her because of the curse connecting their bodies and souls. He doesn’t even need her anymore because his new jade ring cancels the effects of the curse. Ouch. Xiao Lan Hua then pretends to be sick, attracts Qingcang to a place outside during a storm and kisses him. They switch bodies again (the key to the body swap is being hit by a lightning). Now Qingcang can’t discard her.

AND IT’S A HOOT.

Xiao-Lan-Hua-in-Qingcang’s-body has Qingcang-in-Xiao-Lan-Hua’s-body arrested and takes his place. She messes up the coronation ceremony and rejects some ladies, leading to a rumor that Qingcang prefers men. Specifically his dragon servant Shangque. I hollered.

Then Qingcang-in-Xiao-Lan-Hua’s-body teaches Xiao-Lan-Hua-in-Qingcang’s-body how to behave like him for another 3 days (when another storm is going to happen and they can unswitch) to varying degrees of success.

Fuck, Xunfeng is involved with Ronghao. I love a twink with a hidden agenda. *opens ao3*

Can’t wait for the next episodes! Will RongXun* take RongHeng’s place as “number one ship where one of the parts is Xu Haiqiao’s character” in my heart?

Samantha and Thomas Jr.’s kids? Why the hell would Meghan want that? Unless I’m missing someone. We’re not only talking about GCL here (though they should meet and there should be something official coming out about the next generation of HRHs, all 5 grandkids) but we’re talking Savannah and Isla, Mia, Lena, and Lucas, August + his future sibling, Sienna, Wolfie, etc.. Think QEII’s 90th - that’s what we needed from the coronation. An immediate line pic (CC / WK / GCL / HM / AL). But it’s not just about that - these kids have a whole family they’ll never know. Don’t you think that’s a little sad?

Btw archie and lili aren’t hrh, don’t fly too high lol. Lena and all other children were queens great grandchildren, not charles. Also, since when is H,M,A,L immediate line? When was edward and his children considered immediate line so harry in the same position should be now? They have the other side of the family they don’t know either, that’s sad too!
