It's Coronation Day!!!!

I'm a huge royal fan since my childhood, and I was sooooo excited for this.

I baked the coronation quiche and Queen Elizabeth's favourite cake, and now I'm sitting in front of thr TV dressed up in my only gown dress and I'm almost crying I'm so happy🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹

As it's Coronation Day today...

When you meet the future king (now the King) and be your socially awkward, distracted self (me: "oh hi") I was taking selfies (obvz) and your baby is crying the whole time for no reason (she was fine!) We didn't meet Prince Charles, Prince Charles met us 💅🏻 and that's my Nana next to me she was so happy! I'm just awkward in all situations tbf

For info - a Coronation is the act of placement or bestowal of a crown upon a monarch's head. The term also generally refers not only to the physical crowning but to the ceremony wherein the act of crowning occurs, along with the presentation of other items of regalia, marking the formal investiture of a monarch with regal power

With the Queen passing, her son Charles ascended to the Throne and it's marked a new part of history. As King, Charles is head of the Commonwealth, which includes 54 countries, including 14, plus the United Kingdom, in which he is also the head of state. With Charles's ascension, his son William inherits his father's former title, Prince of Wales and becomes the heir to the throne.

I'm not a Royalist like my Nana is, who has grown up with admiration of the Monarchy.

I appreciate the history and lineage but I'm not enamored (if that makes sense) but will definitely enjoy tea and cake at a street party though 😂 I see many opinions online, I just thought I'd share this as it's relevant content.

Many people have various views on the Royal family past and present but regardless of the negative or positive opinions there is such a vast history, stories and legacy.

The British monarchy traces its origins from the petty kingdoms of Anglo-Saxon England and early medieval Scotland, which consolidated into the kingdoms of England and Scotland by the 10th century. Monarchy is an old form of government, and the word has been around a long time! 👑
