I see your sleeby dandy and give you my two boys in bed. First image is Spike who’s ~6+ years old and the second is Puff who’s ~5 years old.
Puff needs to be swaddled because he moves in his sleep and will otherwise fall out of bed. I did find out that with his original owners he did have a significant head injury as a hatchling so I kinda wonder whether that plays a part in his sleep movement because I can’t imagine moving in your slee would be all that great for a normal wild dragon. He’s special but I make sure he gets the care he needs to be healthy and happy.
--------------------------------------------
AWWWW ;_; your boys are both so precious!!! I hope you don't mind me posting them publicly bc I love this post so much and I want others to see your little guys as well <3
you're doing a wonderful job taking care of them :D it warms my heart to see beardies so well cared for and loved!

Got any facts about Siamese Algae Eaters?
I have a juvenile in my larger tank that decided to join up with my rummy nose tetras and behaves like them as opposed to an algae eater and even though it’s starting to outgrow the tetras in size the tetras seem to have accepted their weird group member.
First time I’ve ever seen a fish join a different species and act like it’s one of them. My theory is that because I got this one as a baby it may have thought the tetras were the same species because at that time they were the same size and the rummy nose tetras have a similar body shape and silver color plus the black tail stripes matching the black stripe along the algae eater.
Awww!!!! You hear about animals growing up around other animals and then acting like them and animals "adopting" members of other species but I really haven't ever heard of fish doing the same either! The algae eater thought it was a tetra too... my heart....!
Anyway, you'll get your fact! But uh, this one is a tad different.
Fish fact #593
"Siamese algae eater"!
Tumblr media
What specie or species the "Siamese algae eater" name refers to is a whole conundrum and a half. Very often this name is attributed to Crossocheilus oblongus, which is a synonym for C. siamensis, but it is now believed that very few or no true C. oblongus individuals actually appear in the aquarium trade! Instead, multiple other species are referred to as Siamese algae eaters and/or mislabeled as C. oblongus/siamensis, notably C. atrilimes, C. langei, C. nigriloba, Garra cambodgiensis ("false Siamese algae eater"), and Epalzeorhynchos kalopterus ("flying fox"). Interestingly, FishBase gives out the title of "Siamese algae eater" to Gyrinocheilus aymonieri and instead calls C. oblongus by the common name Siamese flying fox.
All this to say, the common name Siamese algae eater encompasses many species! What you're getting might not be C. oblongus at all, but a different kind of fishy friend instead.

Cigarettes and cologne huh? What cologne does Crow like? Is he someone that uses in moderation or one of those guys that practically bathes in it?
As someone who never touches perfumes or colognes cos they ALL smell awful and way too strong I can't really answer this in full, I'm so sorry 😭
However I DO know he's the type to use just a Little on his neck and wrists. He doesn't put it on more than once that night, and usually wears it when he's not At Work.

@corrupted-legality replied to your post “...But would my boobs even stay in that dress? I...”:
“Would it really 8e so 8ad if they were to escape containment?” 👀👀👀👀
Oh, you might enjoy that, but I would be in the midst of an imperial crisis, tits out. They can escape, or you may ask them to escape if you are so inclined, behind locked doors.

Saw your post about Salem and it got me wondering if the oral mass in conjunction with the stomatitis is something that would be seen in other species as well?
One of my rescue bearded dragons came to me with osteomyelitis in his jaw (now treated) and has a small oral mass that was shown to be inflammatory and I do suspect the mass is linked to his osteo (secondary symptom?)
I've also seen it in dogs secondary to severe dental disease, but I don't know enough about bearded dragons to say one way or another. I recommend getting any growths evaluated by a vet as soon as possible. Even if benign oral growths do occur in that species, cancer is also always a possibility, and the sooner it's diagnosed and treatment (even if it's just palliative) started the better the outcome.

Saw your post about quinnie and his eye and my oldest rescue (8 years old) earlier had an eye inflammation issue that turned out to be a single shed scale that had fallen in and formed tissue around it. That’s sorted out now but we did discover that his short range vision isn’t great particularly from that eye.
I’ve found that a high contrast background for feeding (ie black for pale foods and white for darker colored foods) seems to help him actually see there’s something there.
Additionally I’ve found I can tap the ground with my finger/feeding tweezers next to the food item and it draws his attention to the area.
If he’s having particular difficulty getting the last of his food sometimes if I touch his lips with the food he’ll kinda snap in its direction and if I’m fast I can drop the food item in his mouth.
Insect wise things like dubias and crickets are too fast for him so I’ve switched him to mealworms if he needs a weight boost but I’m intending to make his primary insect BSFL since they’re better balanced nutrition wise.
Feeding a dragon with vision issues takes some experimentation with what works and time to teach them new methods.
Approach wise I’ve found if I make some noise like clicking to get his attention to where I’m gonna be coming from and move slowly he rarely freaks out.
Hopefully some of this helps but if you don’t already know of it beardeddragon.org is an amazing forum for asking for assistance and sharing knowledge amongst other owners and those who work with dragons (ie vets etc) that I fully reccomend for both new and experienced dragon keepers to check out
------------------------------------------------------------------------
thank you so much for your suggestions! I hope it's ok to post this both so that I can come back and reference it And post it in case others have dragons with sight issues so that it may help those folks too
I've definitely started being more aware of how I approach him already, I'll always make sure to tap next to him and say his name and he will usually tilt his head toward me even if he can't see me very well. I think he experiences like a Tiny bit of vision out of it but not enough to be able to truly function with it.
quinnie can see SO excellently out of his good eye, so I've adapted to just dropping the bug on that side and he runs for it instantly. it's worked well so far and I've never really had to help him there
for his salads it can be a bit tricky, usually I will place the bowl on his good side or try to hand feed him, but he has Never been much of a hand feeding guy. he really does not like his lips or mouth being touched with anything and will do that annoyed little head shake if I try. despite all this, he's still eating his salads well. sometimes it takes situating him again to show him the food once more but that's okay. I just check on him often
I have no idea what happened to his eye to begin with, he'd clearly had some kind of trauma to it before I ever got him because his pupil was never normal. the vet thinks he self-injured it again by accident so it got worse
regardless though, I think he's adapting well! he's come so far from when we first rescued him and I know he'll overcome this too
I do know about beardeddragon.org!! I also highly recommend it to anyone reading this, it's super helpful! it's a forum full of folks passionate about these lil guys and everyone's always willing to help out in my experience!

Hello friend! I have some exciting news! My pair of marbled pearlscale angelfish decided to lay their very first eggs this afternoon.
Of course they chose to use one of the tank heaters to lay on but at least it has a cover so I was able to slide that off and transfer most of the eggs to a seperate tank to care for. There are some I couldn’t relocate so I’ve left those with them to trial how they go caring for them since sometimes they’re not the best their first few times with eggs but so far so good.
They made one mistake of leaving them unattended for a moment but got lucky and didn’t lose any to becoming snacks and seem to have learned because I haven’t seen them repeat this error.
I’ve also only found 4 non-viable eggs that seemed to be just because the male missed them while fertilising.
Oh shit, congratulations!! How exciting! Sounds like some good parents, learned from their mistake and keep a keen eye on the eggs now. Hope it works out for the angelfish and for you too! Marbled pearlscale angelfish look like a beautiful morph and it would be cool if you got more :)

Anti honesty: what’s your ideal romantic date to 8e taken on?
Oh, don't put any thought into it. Frankly, why even both with the date? But if we must, might as well visit with every legislacerator in the league and make it a double-triple-quadruple-million person date. They're full of wit and humour and are always so gracious to me that we'll have the time of our lives. We'll go to a dive bar, every last one of us, and I will walk home, alone, as my date has been invited to someone else's hive.

This Supreme Court is illegitimate and deeply corrupt
Tumblr media
Two years after John Roberts' confirmation as the Supreme Court's chief justice in 2005, his wife, Jane Sullivan Roberts, made a pivot. After a long and distinguished career as a lawyer, she refashioned herself as a legal recruiter, a matchmaker who pairs job-hunting lawyers up with corporations and firms.
Roberts told a friend that the change was motivated by a desire to avoid the appearance of conflicts of interest, given that her husband was now the highest-ranking judge in the country. "There are many paths to the good life," she said. "There are so many things to do if you're open to change and opportunity."
"When I found out that the spouse of the chief justice was soliciting business from law firms, I knew immediately that it was wrong," the whistleblower, Kendal B. Price, who worked alongside Jane Roberts at the legal recruiting firm Major, Lindsey & Africa, told Insider in an interview. "During the time I was there, I was discouraged from ever raising the issue. And I realized that even the law firms who were Jane's clients had nowhere to go. They were being asked by the spouse of the chief justice for business worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, and there was no one to complain to. Most of these firms were likely appearing or seeking to appear before the Supreme Court. It's natural that they'd do anything they felt was necessary to be competitive."
Roberts' apparent $10.3 million in compensation puts her toward the top of the payscale for legal headhunters. Price's disclosures, which were filed under federal whistleblower-protection laws and are now in the hands of the House and Senate Judiciary committees, add to the mounting questions about how Supreme Court justices and their families financially benefit from their special status, an area that Senate Democrats are vowing to investigate after a series of disclosure lapses by the justices themselves.

Y'all, I want actual real-life applicable villainous billionaire Lex Luther.
Like "oh no he made robots again for his weird hate crush on Superman" is an alright plot point, but I want that to be the distraction.
This man is characterized to be brilliant, especially in business. So, I want his schemes to be a distractable plot for his more dastardly simple capitalist villainy.
I want Lex Luthor trying to seem like a great guy by offering chances for people to earn money. The catch? They have to participate in his game shows where their privacy is null, they perform tricks like dogs, and they "willingly" give up rights such as access to their phones or abilities to talk about their experiences. Lex makes a ton of money off the show, and all but one of the contestants suffer for weeks without pay. Nobody can arrest Lex or charge him cause it's all legal.
I want him to be barely paying his workers and to say his company is green when it's one of Metropolis' top polluters. I want him to be "donating" but using it as an excuse for tax write-offs. Have this man spend thousands of dollars on PR and lawyers while he lays off minimum wage workers.
Anyways, make me absolutely despise this man instead of casually disliking him. Don't make billionaire villains relatable. His "oh no he's so rich and great with loopholes he gets away with making robots and Superman death rays" is pale in comparison to him getting away with common place villainy.
