Update on Cradle to Grave

I've cranked out quite a few chapters in the past few days. Currently I'm working on the most fun chapter yet! The story will conclude soon...I think. I'm not good with how to end things and having way too much fun writing. I've gotten AMAZING feedback so far. Check it out here:

It's been an amazing distraction from my health. I've talked about that briefly here, and some people ask. A little update after the cut:

I have a 1 inch cyst near my left ovary. It's on the tissue connecting the ovary to my fallopian tube. The doctor's ruled out PCOS and endometriosis. We don't know what the cyst is made up yet, it could be fluid, it could be cancerous. I still have months of tests in front of me to determine if it should be removed. It's a great financial burden and I'm already struggling. It's also scary being at the cancer ward all the time. So there's that.

So, I told my therapist about my recent beach trip (there was so little beach, does it even deserve such a grand title?). How I introduced it was saying “The beach trip was a success.”

She had taken that to mean it was an overall pleasant experience, it was worth it, I would do it all again if given the chance…

Not what I meant.

What I meant was:

I didn’t die

I didn’t kill anyone

Look at this sick insect book I got

Unfortunately not, but it's not for lack of trying, I promise! Life has gotten in the way so I haven't had any time to work on it this weekend! You got me feeling bad, so here's a snippet! (I assume you're the same anon asking about The Cat's in the Cradle)

“You’re both useless!” Kiri cried, repressing her laughter as hysteria took them over. Spider couldn’t help cry-laughing with Lo’ak as Neteyam sat on the floor, watching them with an expression of bemused indifference. Spider stayed in a good mood as he made his way to bed a while later, checking his phone out of habit as he plugged it in.

@ phoenix_Miles: Thank you for listening. Can we meet later in the week? Your call.

Spider read the message, and noticed the distinct absence of adrenaline it caused. He read it again, wondering if his brain hadn’t realised it had just read a message from his dad.

Nothing.

Well, if he wasn’t afraid of Miles Quaritch any longer, why not hear him out a little more?

Me, waking up from a dead sleep in a cold sweat: DAMMIT IT WAS CRADLE NOT A CRIB! I’M AN IDIOT!

#UPDATE: fuck it! changed all instances of ‘crib’ to ‘cradle’. feels much better now!#so in one of my fics (the door) I erroneously refer to a piece of furniture as a crib #despite giving a description that vERY CLEARLY indicates it’s a cradle and not a crib #and now that’s going to bother me because even if I change it now it’s got like 130 notes so everyone’s already witnessed my error 😭😭😭#as for why that’s come to me NOW of all times — much less where the realization came from — I sincerely don’t know #but now it’s going to bug me for time eternal no matter what I do with this realization 😅
