me when the campaign with characters i’ve praised for being essentially pawns/npcs in the greater world is ending by underserving the main characters by [checks notes] highlighting the role those characters have played as quasi-npcs who are nonetheless still the narrators of their destinies within the limits of a world beyond their control
#critical role#cr3#maybe i’m just built different (with media literacy) but i’m psyched that the campaign that has been an interrogation of agency and#‘the people’ included like. an actual depiction that grappled with the fact that bell’s hells story. as a consequence of choices made at#character creation and continually remade by the cast throughout the story#is more than just bell’s hells story. like it’s. a fair expectation after campaign 1 and 2 were both vox machina’s and mighty nein’s stories#but campaign hasn’t been bell’s hells story in the same way. it has explicitly been about larger implications and exandria. as has been#reiterated in every interview. 4sd. etc etc with matt and overall campaign discussion. to be at the end of the campaign & still shocked#that bell’s hells story required the inclusion of other stories. when it actually emerged out of another story like#‘it’s unfair that campaign 3 doesn’t actually honour the party it’s about’ you mean the crown keepers. so true.#kind of fucked up that their story has this random insertion of characters that detract from the narrative :///////#cr fandom

im not going to lie i have an illuminati type theory that fanfiction has gotten so fucking bad recently as yet another consequence of the pandemic
#because like we all know how the pandemic caused fandom and a lot of more geeky things to become more mainstream#at least in the US#and thats why fandoms are so fucking shite now because everybody isnt weird and cant handle weird shkt#and also everybody stopped having reading comprehension too because of the sudden rapid uptick in content creation and such#like u guys already know what im talking about#theres a reason why i havent seen an actual meme in years#like im talking a real meme. have you seen anything even remotely close to what a meme was like before the pandemic?#its honestly a real shame because i feel like now saying meme feels kind of cringey but it was something genuinely uniting and a wonderful#cultural thing online back then but also maybe thats just my nostalgia coming in since i was a kid back then#but yeah i think as another consequence fanfiction has become significantly worse#because i dont know maybe im looking in the wrong places maybe its a natural development of my taste becoming#more refined#but i feel like its impossible to find good fanfiction these days#like hetalia ao3 has been notorious for sticking out as the only fandom ever that somehow has so much fanfiction and none of it is good#because even when i was in the oukibo trenches i found some good shit in there that id memorize like bible scriptures#but now it kinda feels like every fandoms ao3 is like the hetalia ao3#i thought it was just my taste refining further until i found one good fanfiction recently and IT LIKE#ITS NOT EVEN THAT GOOD. BUT YOU KNOW HOW THERES THAT TYPE OF FANFIC THAT IS JUST#COMPETENTLY WRITTEN AND THE CHARACTERS ARE IN CHARACTER#ITS NOTHING BEAUTIFUL OR SOMETHING YOUD BE LIKE OHHH THIS SHOULD BE A FINE LITERATURE PUBLISHED BOOK#BUT ITS GOOD#ITS A GOOD STORY THAT FEELS LIKE IT WAS WRITTEN BY SOMEONE WHO WATCHED THE SHOW#AND HAS ALL THE BASIC NEEDS TO BE A COMPELLING READ#LIKE DAMN I HAVENT READ SOMETHING LIKE THAT IN FOREVER#bc a lot of good fanfiction isnt the 400k novels that are intense and beautiful#i love those but there can only be so many of them#the majority are these fics that are fun as hell to read and sometimes even stretch to be like 50k words. but they're definately not#intense beautiful prose. it's a fun story made by a fan who wanted to explore an idea or make some scenarios#and i can never find that shit anymore#its always page after page of the most asinine shit with not even the general aura/sprinkle of anything pertaining to the og source in sight

but doodles!!!! im trying to figure out how things without facial features would emote, I gave knife raph wings cause I had to. mx Potts ashes uses steam! when they figured out how to flip people off with steam it was all over. clock lyf uses the face of the clock more like an eye than a uh face so there's that. feather duster Bertie I'm sorry he can use feathers I guess????
also beast jonny :) he has a heart shaped patch on his chest cause I said so (and toe beans!!!!!!)

Rest of the Mechs are the servants in the Beast's house. With an exception for Marius as Gaston cause I can totally fucking see it. He would suck at it though because it's Marius. And also, short Marius HC.
This is probably not new. But it's been brewing in my head for a good few months, ever since I put my Mechs OC in the iconic Belle dress.

I, Blazeismyname, have finished the character portion of the CoCaL document.
I have laboured so long on this project of passion and Love (ha-). Please enjoy what I have. I will be working on a summary of the main story, but that will be a while. For now, enjoy a year's work of labour on this silly au.

I’m back on my Solas hating era so here’s some more reasons Solas’ plan would’ve never worked
Tearing down the Veil unleashes the entirety of the Blight, a force that isn’t controllable or manageable even with a fraction of it released (as we see in prior games).
Tearing down the Veil does not acknowledge what will be done about the demons currently in the Fade, or how survivors will be protected from demons that will most certainly want to kill them.
Tearing down the Veil does not acknowledge the issues that led to its creation (people assuming authority figures and becoming drunk on the power, leading to tyranny and corruption)
There are definitely not enough spirits to protect everyone, nor do we ever see these spirits Solas supposedly had to ‘minimize the casualties’. Best case scenario, a vast majority of the population is wiped out. Worst case scenario, everyone dies.
Even if the Evanuris had been successfully moved to the new prison, they would’ve almost certainly not been held for long, as the Fade prison revolves around the contained having regrets—which Elgar’nan and Ghilan’nain do not have.
If we assume what happens is similar to what we see in some concept art where people become spirits/one with the Fade, what would become of dwarves, who are not connected to the Fade?

Barn Anon. Here's another one, my foot is numb cuz dog's sleeping on my lap and I can't move.
Pregnant? His human is pregnant? Gabriel nearly knocks his human over when he rushes to hug her. She's crying? Don't cry, unless it's out of happiness. He purrs and kisses her cheeks, he plucks the pregnancy tests from her hands to look at the results himself. They've made something! Would it be a boy or a girl? He's torn. He's had brothers for the bulk of his life but a little girl that looks exactly like his human?
He purrs happily and peppers her with kisses, good little human, he'll take care of her as her pregnancy progresses. He'll handle all the housework so she can rest and focus on growing their child. Their little miracle. Perhaps it's not as much a surprise to him as it is to her. He is aware of a few of his battle brothers with bonded humans that are "single mothers" with little ones that look suspiciously to those Blood Angels. Maybe it is mostly his fault for not using protection when he's fully aware of this possible end result. But... this can be a little surprise from him to her right?
He rumbles as his human mutters about needing to set up check ups and a nursery. He can handle the nursery, can he go with her for her check ups?
Set after Gabriel's Valentines day special
You feel your leg bounce as you rub the barely visible bulge on your stomach. You know exactly who the father is... given that he was the last person you had sex with. Gabriel coos to your softly sitting on the floor next to you trying his best to comfort you. Oh God you were an Astartes-fucker... and you got pregnant! He rubs your hand as he is certainly feeling your panic rising.
Gabriel should feel guilty as there was a possibility of getting his dear human pregnant but he just wanted to show her how much he loved her and was this not also the greatest way for him to show his love? His eyes flick over to the nurse as she calls her last name and he helps her up.
"Emotional Support Astartis?" She says with a smile and you just nod.
"Yeah I'm a mess of emotions right now." You say softly replying as you worry about people finding out... would someone try to take your kid?
"Well you've got your big guy. Lie down please." You obey and she tucks some of those hospital paper around you and some tucked into the top of your pants as cold get is rubbed on your stomach.
Gabriel watched just cooing happily but internally he was doing his mental checkmarks... he would have to tell the acting chapter master what he had done and then the chief apothecary would want to look her over... and then the small coven of alpha legion that is friendly with the legion? Were they basically a legion again? Either way they would make sure no one suspected anything.
You gasped seeing the blurry blobby mess that was your fetus? kid? You just were surprised to even see something perhaps you were hoping to be told no it was no longer there. You look over at Gabriel and you can tell he's holding his breath his eyes focused on the screen just looking over the little blurry blob with you. You wonder if they would have his red hair...
The visit goes well as you hand Gabriel the ultrasound picture... it doesn't look like much but... you can tell it means a lot to him. For Gabriel as he looks down at the little photo. Of course, the Apothecary would be able to get a clearer picture of their child but he didn't know why... but this was something he was going to cherish.
