Campaign 1 Episode 87: Onward to Vesrah

Thinking about Vox Machina after a long trip and they’re trying to ration their funds so they all stay in the same room for the night. Their armor and weapons are in various levels of organization depending on whose it is, some neatly put away and others thrown off with little care. Maybe the weather isn’t all too good and neither is the room, so it’s a bit cold.

Grog is on the floor because he’s too big for the bed and Pike is cuddled up with him on his chest, Scanlan leaning against his leg.

Vex’ahlia is in the room’s only bed with Keyleth, and both of them run on the warmer side, so the cold doesn’t really get to them. Vex’s feathers and Keyleth’s antlers are both on the bedside table, though both of them have mussed hair from the other running their hands through it.

Vax’ildan is also on the floor, though leaned up against the bed frame. Percy is using his thighs as a pillow and facing toward the half-elf’s stomach, trusting Vax to protect him if something were to happen while they were asleep. Vax has a hand resting in Percival’s hair and the other on the small of his back.

It’s a nice night.

The whole Grog pulling himself out of the wind via Pike is A. So well foreshadowed for an improv game and B. Gut wrenching. Literally. For Pike specifically.

Campaign 1 Episode 58: A Cycle of Vengeance

This post is for the singular purpose of appreciating Grog.

Like, my man is the biggest, strongest, most stereotypically masculine of Vox Machina, and despite being considered pretty dense, he is the most emotionally aware of all the guys, maybe even the whole team. No spoilers, but in the Origin comics, he also single handedly saved the whole groups asses by just being nice to a nymph. He is so understanding and concerned for his friends, and even people he doesn't know. He has such a good heart.

Somebody tell him he's doing a good job or give him a gold star, just do something because he deserves it.

Percy: Don't you ever get that voice in your head that just tells you if something's gonna get you in trouble?

Grog: ..no?

Vax: That actually explains so much.

Vox Machina Plays Mario Kart 

Vex’ahlia is obviously winning. Keyleth is better at this game than she gives herself credit for and isn’t doing half bad. Grog is being a little too aggressive with the turns and keeps crashing into things; and yet somehow, he’s still a place ahead of Scanlan. The game is clearly rigged! 

Vox Machina House Rules: 1). No loud music before 9 AM 2). Butter knives are NOT weapons 3). PLEASE try the doorknob first 4). Whoever breaks the door down, pays for it.
