Repost from @loubihawkins using @RepostRegramApp - And we have connection 🙌🏻 . I’ve never been able to connect on full snatch, hang snatch sometimes 🤷‍♀️ After some much needed tekkers advice from coach @lukestopford I was able to do it 😃. I failed as many as I hit but it’s a start ☺️ . . Road tested my new #nikeromaleos3xd...I love them they’re soooo comfortable and the patches are so cute 😍 . . #ukcrossfit #crossfit #fitness #crossfituk #ukcrossfitters #girlswithmuscle #motivation #workout #weightlifting #crossfitgirls #training #strong #squats #crossfitter #crossfitcommunity #crossfitmasters #crossfitlife #crossfitgames #ukcf #girlswholift #functionalfitness #tekkers #adaptiveathlete #snatch #splitsnatch #olympicweightlifting #progress #determined @weightlifting.101 (at Garagemfight DNJJ Equipe Luiz Paulo Jiujitsu BA) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bxz4DjJHYrM/?igshid=162719vwbr8gy

Very little snatch at 30kg but this is definitely the most difficult movement for me. But got to start somewhere. Nothing like a bit of crossfit to warm you up on a cold winter's morning and even had one of my next door neighbours kids joining in bits with me . 1) 21,15,9 on d.d shoulder press and burpees 2) 21 15,9 d.d squats and air squats 3,) 10 to 1 on dumbbell thrusters and Kettle swings 4,,) 5 rounds of 1 minutes skipping and 15 lunges. Then finished it off with a 20-minute interval run with a minutes walk and a minute run around my street . After a stressful couple of days I'm feeling a lot better and now have a clear head to tackle the day ahead . #crossfit #crossfitwod #crossfituk #burningfat #tonningup (at Crawley) https://www.instagram.com/p/CILM4xFnlwg/?igshid=x7w7jxwcmrru

Wednesday Conditioning Club made a return last night for the final Wednesday ahead of Christmas!🎄🎉 Not an enourmous amount of volume in this one, but a fair bunch of intensity. Boys put in a top effort to get it done! --- Opened with an 8 minute AMRAP of 8 legs only assault bike cals, each going after each-other. Used this opener as pretty much a warm up for the main part of the session.🙌👌 --- 21 minute EMOM *7 minutes at each movement, then swap - 10 cal AB - 14 cal row - 30 air squats (Or scaled to be working for 40 seconds) --- This one got super tasty on the bike and row. Air squats were a fairly tough one, but were nice to keep moving through. Was really great to have a solid conditioning only session to really blow away the cobwebs after a couple of extra days off for me! 💪 --- @ryaandavies @iwanbenj31 🌐 youtube.com/kierandouglasjones 📽 --- #crossfit #crossfitbox #entrepreneur #entrepreneurlife #vlogger #vloglife #crossfitlife #crossfitlifestyle #crossfitter #crossfituk #crossfitcommunity #youtubechannel #WOD #crossfitwod #conditioning #sandc #wednesdauconditioningclub #assaultbike #rowingwod #rower #airsquats #fitness #fitspo #fortem #christmasjumper #christmas #christmasconditioning

Intro: For those not familiar with it, I suppose the best way to describe bouldering is (indoor) rock climbing without the use of ropes. I've heard many people talk about the "thrill" of bouldering before, but to the outsider, it never looked like anything more than a casual time-pass that many people seem to be getting into in recent times. After a 3 hour session at The Castle in Finsbury Park, I can honestly say that I see the appeal. It tests you as much as you want to be tested, it trains certain aspects that you may not focus on during your day-to-day training, and highlights weaknesses that you could choose to work on back in training. It seems to attract, and is welcoming, to a broad spectrum of people - from teenage girls to senior men - and the amount of different routes and climbs creates good value for money. Whether you're looking for a more casual experience, or are more competitively-inclined, I'd recommend going with a few friends initially to experience it together. You might find that some of the things you enjoy about CrossFit (functionality, progressive, varied and multidisciplinary) are also mirrored in bouldering. Overall, a great experience, and one that I am keen to try again. The Venue/Sport: Each wall has multiple different routes you can take, and you could probably spend anywhere between 20 and 40 minutes at any one wall before you look to go to another.  Whilst the venue was quite literally packed to the ceiling with climbing areas on every floor, there were also small areas where people were practicing yoga, stretching and using a pull-up bar to work on upper and core strength. There was also a small weights area hidden away in the ceiling - although you'll have to climb up a ladder to earn the right to get there. This multidisciplinary aspect was a pleasant surprise. It's the same approach that is enchanting about our own - taking the relevant aspects from different training methodologies (yoga, calisthenics, weightlifting) in order to maximise their abilities in their sport. The Functionality: The transfer of our functional fitness training here should be apparent: think co-ordination, gymnastics, mobility and strength. There's also the mental aspect - learning to remain calm and patient in tricky situations, to trust your body in certain situations, and having the foresight to plan your climbing route ahead before you start (trying to wing it will probably leave you looking a bit silly). The inverse is true, too. It feels like going regularly would also bring benefits to your CrossFit training, with its focus on bodyweight strength and co-ordination, and the obvious grip strength (to help you get that new deadlift PB!). Much like CrossFit, bouldering is all on you. You chalk up your hands, choose your climb, and then it's all up to you to figure out how to complete it. The Difficulty: None of this is to say it's inherently difficult. The beauty of bouldering is that it is as easy or challenging as you make it. Routes vary in difficulty across a huge spectrum - from some designed for beginners, to some that looked nigh-on impossible. On some walls, routes change quite frequently, so going back regularly means a new challenge. For the other walls, there are more than enough routes to keep you challenged - and for those routes that you fail (time and time and, sigh, time again), you might find yourself creating small targets for yourself for the next time you go. Finally overcoming them gives the same thrill as getting a new PB, and then it's time for a new target! Overall, it was a very good test of the "functional" aspect of functional fitness. It's definitely not tiring in the sense that it will leave you drenched in sweat, but you may find your heart rate increasing a little as you navigate some tricky climbs. Your forearms, hands and core may be a little sore the day afterwards. At £12.50 for a full day pass (£7.50 for concessions, plus an extra £5 for optional shoe hire), regular sessions may catch up with your wallet, but what you do get for your money is well worth it. You could quite easily lose three or four hours here before you call it a day, so bear that in mind if you are planning a trip!

Yesterday I had to bail at the bottom of a squat...
On my 3rd set of 5 reps @ 110kg.
I went down....
Contemplated life for what felt like a few years before rolling that bar all the way down my back.
.....stood back up again.
I now have a glorious bruise on my spine and shoulders to show for it.
I finished at 100kgs and proceeded to do the wod;
4 rounds for time
24 abmat sit ups
20 dumbbell walking lunges in front rack position @ 15kgs each.
16 dumbbell snatches @ 15kgs.
Needless to say the walking lunges were spicy after failing a set of squats 10 minutes earlier.
The time cap was 15 minutes, I finished in 14:57 so had to go to that dark place to get it done in time.
