CSI: Vegas Season 2

I am on board with this.

It’s definitely CSI:TNG, with cameos from CSI:TOS, but the new team is settling in. Funnily enough, for all I empathize with high-strung, hyper-achieving, oh-no-I-did-an-awkward Allie Rajan, I found that Det. Chavez was my standout character. I get why she and Folsom like each other. He lives deep in his head, and she doesn’t waste a moment on getting to the point. But I have a hunch she will not have any time for the Folsom/Allie pining routine, and will wave Folsom cheerily goodbye and tell him to sort out his shit. Which is fine with me as long as she keeps turning up on screen. If she’s the new Brass Junior, I’m down with that.

Catherine and Maxine are wonderful together. It was an actual rush watching them lope up to a scene together and start working the case without any preamble, like the pros they are. The Huang/Eclipse storyline looks to be an interesting long arc to follow, with reach-backs to the original series as well as Cat’s newer role as a mentor to young forensics students.

Penny is charming and reminds me of a few students in my lab. I wonder if Max was reading her clearly, though - I don’t think Penny was saying she was embarrassed by the BDSM scenario, per se, but by her sense of being out of step with her own generation because she did understand it, in theory, and just wasn’t into it.  As if she thought she was supposed to be at least intrigued. I don’t think it was simply that she’s a younger CSI with less exposure. She certainly understood Max’ comments about why some people found it useful and necessary - she herself just didn’t feel a pull.

Chris makes me want to sit him down and give him a talking to about professionalism and grown-up office culture.

I like Beau. What else is there to say?

And the nods to Sara and Grissom were delightful.

It didn't make any sense. They didn't make any sense. She was a widowed in her fourties, with a teenage daughter. He was younger. They worked together. And yet, since the first moment their eyes met across the crime lab, something clicked. They did. Or: Joshua Folsom, and Rebecca Cosgrave, navigating work, life, and things in between. Colorado was up 29-0 over Stanford and I turned off the game to watch CSI:Vegas with my lovely W... and the game ends with Stanford winning 46 to 43 in double over time!

I did turn in for the last 3 mins of the 4th qtr and both OTs and I'll say this: This is exactly why I never bet on games. I hate caring about who wins, or being emotionally/financially invested... I just want to watch and enjoy the game! Watching UCLA, Steelers, & Panthers games are rarely "fun", but other teams... absolutely the best! "Do not go gentle into that good night" #pac12afterdark

CSI: Vegas season 3 moves to Sunday 10pm but... will air in 2024

CBS has announced its 2023/2024 season schedule and CSI: Vegas is being held until midseason and moves to Sunday. The Good Wife spin-off Elsbeth will air in the Fall in the Thursday 10 pm time slot. The show is delayed until 2024 due to the NFL in the fall and the games running overtime. CBS will air the Superbowl but the post show slot will be for new show Tracker so CSI:Vegas might start after Feb 11 2024. New show Mattlock will air at 8 and The Equalizer (season 4) at 9.

We're probably back to a 10-ish episodes season. We'll see because of the Writers strike and the upcoming Directors strike things will probably change again (and there might be an Actors strike too). Writers of the show are on strike right now so production on season 3 will not start until it's resolve (and they get what they deserve).

Edit: I misread the article and thought the show was keeping the Thursday slot! I corrected my mistake and added info about CBS Sunday schedule.

Currently watching/obsessed with - The only show I'm watching is CSI:Vegas, which is as good as the original. Love how they've brought back some of the old cast as well. I am currently obsessed with football, I guess. If I'm not watching my teams, I'm watching the Champions League -even if I don't like any of the teams playing that night

Currently reading - Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun by Elle Cosimano. It's the third in a series, and you do need the first two for context. I am currently 77% in and I love it so far
