⚙️ EUREKA! I figured it out! I can now create custom filters in CAS for just about anything. This is going to ruin my life… but maybe it'll make The Sims 4 a little more tolerable for you.

📸 I will take better screenshots when I get the chance. I literally figured out how to do this in the middle of doing my BASE GAME CAS Overrides, CAS Add-Ons, and CAS De-Bloating™. In other words, this completely derailed my week.

🌸 WE CAN DO THIS. YOU AND ME. TOGETHER:

For all intents and purposes, this is a "community project". I am willing and able to create and maintain the required override, the hundreds upon hundreds of unique 9-digit "IDs" for the "TagValueNumber", and the unique Strings, etc., but I can't possibly override every custom CAS item in existence.

Help me make this a reality, and also, keep your fingers crossed that the override doesn't break under the weight of the hundreds upon hundreds of entries I'm adding to it.

Oh hai, @sims4studioofficial. Can you add a BATCH FIX that <LOOKS THROUGH MY WISH LIST> allows us to add a "SpecialContent" TAG with a custom "TagValueNumber" to a whole folder of CAS mods? Even if you can't get the "CategoryNumber" to copy properly, a BATCH FIX will at least eliminate half the busywork.

🎓 HOW IT DO, PIKACHU:

If you're well-versed in creating or modifying CAS content, all you need to do is add a new TAG to your swatches - you can do just the first swatch, but you should do all swatches - and change the "CategoryNumber" to "127" (without the quotes), and change the "TagValueNumber" to the desired 9-digit "ID".

For everyone else who is new to this, instructional screenshots have been provided under the spreadsheet. Don't forget to grab the JSON files and toss them into "Documents\Sims 4 Studio\Custom Tags"to make life easier.

It takes an awful lot of custom ad-block stuff to get Tumblr into a "useable" state for me when I'm on my computer…

This is all stuff I have in my ad-blocker addon for Tumblr. It's a set of "sets" – 19, to be exact – which reduce the clutter and mess on my Tumblr Dashboard, among other places. It's heavily personalized and probably wouldn't fit most people, but I have a lot of things that annoy me about the web-based Dashboard, and unfortunately, Washboard is a tad bit broken in terms of functionality at the mo'. The only thing I can't seem to consistently fix is the "restricted area" nag warning on blog Archive pages when you're not logged in. Any solution I've tried seems to fail.

I also have 18 more filters which are outdated or simply don't do the job, anymore. I think the fact that I have this many filters for one website speaks volumes about the interface, myself. But, that's just my opinion… Sadly, I don't think @staff really cares. Their free website has to make money somehow, so… yeah.

For those who are curious: I am using @april's XKit Rewritten in conjuction with this and whle it does do some of this, it doesn't do it particularly well. As for the rest? A lot of it won't be implemented for either "moral" or technical reasons, or simply can't be implemented for being "outside of the scope" of the extension. Or maybe she won't use my idea because she hates me personally. d;

These are the times we live in, I guess.

since all new 3d printing & photography is still in limbo, a throwback! this is the first custom doll i made, from 2020.

i had a brief fascination with bjd head sculpts as a kid, and did a few frankenstein experiments on barbies, but was never really interested in dolls before. the hobby started in a flash when i happened to see a monster high custom video on youtube. i took one look at a cleaned abbey face, went "monster high face sculpts are like THAT?", and got my boots on to go to the nearest thrift store. did not find any monster high at that time, but bought a moxie girlz doll, and came home to make this.

the spider butt is insulation foam and clay, and the legs are worbla over a thick metal wire, which allows them to bend surprisingly well. also, the tattoos are patterns cut out of my childhood satin pajamas, which is an excellent example how a lot of my material storage may be Old As Balls, but eventually compelling things will have their use.

the arms are super charming when i look at them now; a relic from a time when i didn't just have a bin of spare doll parts to get new arms from. i thought about swapping them out now, but i think i'll keep her as she is, as documentation. the harness i do need to retie though, as i did not know shibari back then and it Could Be Much Better now that i do.

all told, i've made about 80 fashion doll customs. most of them have never been photographed, but i'll do some more throwback dollposting when me and/or my partner get time & motivation to take pictures.

playing the sims ive always been a builder babe, and i loved house flipper 1 but neither of those games really let me create the interiors i actually find interesting.

the trash generator and dirt/stain painting tools are very straightforward, but combined with the overhauled build mechanics they give me just the right combination of complexity and limitations to finally let me try to replicate the aura or atmosphere these spaces carry! everything from the choice of furniture to the wear and tear and even the framing of the photos themselves tell a story and its a fun challenge to push the engine and see how close i can get.

Tumblr appears to have a limit for how many users I can @ in a post, but I would like to @ everyone on Tumblr when I create filters for them, as a way to notify you about what I'm doing and so simmers who see this post can find you easily.

I might come off as an egomaniacal arsehole at times (always for good reason), but it's because I care about our community.

I opted to not re-blog the Tumblr OP linked above because it is subject to lots of changes and Tumblr doesn't update the "preview" of re-blogged posts, HOWEVER, you're more than welcomed to re-blog the Tumblr OP and/or this post.

🌸 A UNIQUE 9-DIGIT "ID" FOR EVERYONE:

The 9-digit numbers following your name are to be used in the "TagValueNumber" field for the "SpecialContent" TAG.

Each 9-digit "ID" is unique to the creator it was made for - it is based on your creator name. I made them using a slightly convoluted system I devised in order to ensure that every "ID" is unique and that the filter list in CAS maintains some semblance of alphabetical order. These "numbers"IDs" can potentially be used for other things, but we'll get to that later.

another custom preset for the paint shop pro 7.04 brushstrokes engine, "unblended pastel". i like this one a lot, because it keeps a good amount of detail, without looking too rough or noisy. it's not perfect, struggles a little with a sort of staircasing on lines that are too narrow (as seen in the lower right), but that's an edge case. i love what it does with grass.

ive been fucking around on cohost for a while now and honestly i think its biggest problem is the counter-intuitive ui. for instance clicking your profile at the top right doesnt bring you to your profile, it just refreshes the page youre already on, which is probably your dash. if you want to get to profile, or settings, or notifs, etc, you have to use the left side menu. but oh no! the menu is stuck at the top of the dash, and doesnt scroll with you, so if youve been scrolling for a while youll either have to scroll all the way back up or refresh, thus losing all your scrolling progress. this is so enraging i went out of my way to download an add on to fix it

the fact that you cant sort etsy by handmade objects anymore drives me crazy like i dont want some drop shipped bullshit i dont want some old stuff someone found in their basement i want handmade object. handmade. something someone made with their hand. handmade pottery. not a cup that looks like its from ikea. handmade.
