Sometimes I feel weirdly guilty that from time to time I make my planner look "pretty" because so many people (especially other folks with ADHD like myself) talk about not being able to keep up with cute/aesthetic/Instagram worthy planners.

Frankly, I can't either. It's too much and it's time consuming. But idk I do feel guilty sharing my beginning of the year planner! Because I added stickers or whatever and I don't want people to think they HAVE to do that (you don't) or you SHOULD do it (a lot of people would find this too distracting to them!).

But I have always LOVED stickers ever since I was a little kid and I don't try too hard. I was zoning out in front of the TV yesterday so I grabbed some stickers and washi tape I have and did this:

Like truly this was just...idk my equivalent of jiggling my leg a bit or Tumblr scrolling or whatever.

The red numbers are stickers (3) and the green is washi tape. #1 and #5 are from a thick washi roll you can cut to make smaller stickers of stuff. This didn't really take any time. I did not have to do it, or feel I needed to do it. I just did it for mindless enjoyment lol. It is purely a fun little hobby I can do on the side.

Like I clearly don't need a "Monday" sticker put on a day clearly labeled Monday. I just like having the pop of yellow color. The only semi-practical stuff is the thin green washi (#3) which marks my hours at work (8-5) and where I wrote over the 24:00 times to make them a 12 hour (1 pm instead of 13) because I find it easier.

But there are also times when my planner looks like this some weeks (if it's filled out all):

Because I use the hobonichi cousin (a5) size, I also have a full page per day for like...writing down any old thing, random to-do lists, etc. (I wrote this more vague than usual so I could share it lol).

So it's not all about being pretty.

However, if I were recommending things to try for physical planners that are no frills, I would say:

Frixion erasable pens (what I write with in the example here). Ink is bold and sticks out to me more! But I need to be able to erase. This works nicely as long as you don't expose the ink to extreme temperature changes (it can erase itself if you do this but I've never had it actually happen).

Pilot Frixion also makes erasable mild highlighters. Super worth it! Mild (pastel) colors are easier on the eyes but still visible. Go for these or Zebra highlighters (I like the brush ones best from zebra).

Kuretake zig Clean Dot markers. They have a ton of colors but you really only need one. Those perfect circles in my to-do list are just the marker tip. I thunk it down and now I can check it off later. Less effort than drawing a checkbox! They also make washi tapes of check boxes if you prefer.

That's it. Basically erasable pen. And to be fancy: Highlighter. Dot marker. Done. If you write to do lists on scrap paper, get yourself a glue stick or glue tape and glue that ish down into your book.

Your style leans toward photorealism, while still maintaining its painting-like quality, so if you had ever wondered how your favorite characters may look like irl, they’ve got you!!! Watching your speed painting is so fascinating, idk how you do it, but you’re always killing it every time (Like our process is so different, so it was really interesting to see how you approach your works you know?). This piece of Kei Tsukishima and Oikawa Tooru are two of my favorite works you’ve done!

@chaotickatts - HQ!! I am so in love with Katts, you all. I had never seen anyone draw like this, her style is really unique. I can go on forever about why I love your art, but one of the biggest things that drew me to your style is the way you draw bodies. I like the variation and realistic details you include, for instance, I absolutely adore the way you gave Sakusa more moles on his body, and the way you drew dad bod Osamu. Idk, I think there’s so many different types of body shapes and details out there, and it brings me joy to see you being so inclusive of them in your art.

@namusw - Hunter x Hunter. Was drawn to their Hunter x Hunter works and I don’t even watch/read that manga. Honestly, just check them out, I love everything about their works, they are also a killer at both traditional and digital styles. This piece of Hisoka, Illumi, and Chrollo was the one that made me fall in love.

@cranbearly - HQ!! I really adore the way they draw expressions and their coloring style (inspired me to attempt some flat coloring). This piece of Oikawa and Iwa made me follow them instantly. Expressions are so difficult to nail, and you’ve done such an amazing job conveying every emotion the characters are feeling, I’ve learned so much just from looking at your works, so thank you for blessing us with your craft.

@a-zebra-was-here - HQ!! Their art has a very carefree type of vibe and their coloring style brings me so much joy. I’ve really enjoyed your drawings of the Miyas’, this piece of the twin was what got me, and this other piece, the first image of young Miyas’ was so SO well done, I am in love with the way you colored that. 😻

@queenoftheantz - HQ!!, Various, Their style is really unique, it kind of reminds me of an adventurous graphic novel or something you would see on Cartoon Network (idk, I thought of Chowder, but please, I really mean it as a compliment, I just really love the fun cartoon style you have.) They also do some animations! I really love this piece of Kyotani you did, the landscape and colors look SOO GOOD!!

@noodlemanjpg - HQ!!, Various, love LOVE your style and the way you draw expressions. I also really love how you color, your works “appear” effortless, but I know a lot of knowledge and precision is put into crafting it. This piece of Kuroo x Yaku being all cozy at the couch was what had drawn me to your blog, it makes me smile every time I look at it. Kuroo’s smitten expression is just...ahsdl;adjs I can’t help but smile with him.

You also seem so so nice and is always incredibly helpful whenever anyone sends you an ask. Just...I have the biggest crush on you and your works. EVERYTHING you had drawn is so stunning, and I mean it. The details, pose, composition, and coloring, it is just so perfect, I could pull up particular artworks, but I was really blessed by it all at once. @hinamihere - HQ!!, Your artworks are soo stinkin adorable. Your color choices, expressions and the way you draw hair is just so cute, your art always bring the biggest smile to my face. This piece you did of Akaashi and Bokuto was what drew me to you, when I saw it, I “awhhh”ed so loudly, my hubby had to ask me what’s up, and when I showed it to him, he had the same reaction, even if he’d never seen Haikyuu!!

@oxxuri - BNHA, so SO good, the way you color, light, and draw is so beautiful. Every single detail, down to every lashes and strands of hair is so beautiful. You draw some of the most attractive faces I had ever seen, these drawings of Aizawa and Midoriya brings me so SOOOO much joy, and I don’t even know anything about BNHA.

@amezure - HQ!!, their comic strips always make my day, I was giving their blog a peep so I can pull up specific examples and my statement is instantly confirmed when I stumbled across their newest comic art of Kuroo and Bokuto and started laughing HAHA. 😂 Your self study sheets are incredibly informative and I find myself referencing them often, it’s so nice to see my favorite artists continue to polish their craft through endless amounts of studying, practice, and analysis. It serves as a constant reminder for myself to do the same. I love the way you draw people (check out this piece of Bokuto x Akaashi), but I ESPECIALLY love the way you draw animals. (Specifically anything that has to do with lil owl Bo and Akaashi 🥺)

@obobro - Avatar the Last Airbender, HQ!!, I am absolutely in love with the way you color and draw portraits. Your drawing and detailing has so much range; you have a series of hand drawings, and that alone already displays so SO much range. I was really drawn in by this drawing of Tsukki, Zuka + Azula, and of Sokka + Katara, you can really tell they were related and I love it so much. Your art has so much life to it, it’s truly fascinating.

ok presumably ur asleep but for tomorrow: thoughts on pens and stationary?

if there’s one thing that bullet journaling has taught me it’s that i have relatively few/mild opinions on pens and stationery lmao

there are three primary things i use stationery for. first is writing, and i mostly use google docs but i keep a little basic notebook on my desk for... jotting down ideas when i’m in zoom meetings and class lol. i actually try not to invest too much time into my writing setup for handwriting bc i prefer typing so much

second is school and while i tried the cute studyblr notes thing it just doesn’t work for me. my personal key is color coding: every class has a different color associated with it. but it’s not fancy pens it’s just an eight pack of multicolored ballpoints from target and also highlighters from target. HOWEVER i also own a metallic gel pen set that got me through stats class last semester

the one thing i have Actual Opinions on is what i use for bullet journaling. i got a leuchtturm dot grid as my first journal and the ghosting drove me insane so i invested in an archer & olive to replace it and it was sooooo worth it. it’s more expensive and it’s fewer pages but the paper is way thicker and nicer and also mine has shiny silver edges which rules

my default pens of choice (for journaling and for school when i feel fancy) are pilot g2 gel pens, i think the ones i have are ultra fine 0.38mm. i also have a small set of staedtler triplus fineliners that i use just to have different colors, although i need to get a bigger set bc i don’t have purple ones. and then for markers i use zebra mildliners which are like pastel highlighters (they come in brush pen form but I am afraid of brush pens so i just have the markers) and archer & olive acrylographs which are halfway between paint pens and markers and which are just SUPER fun to doodle with. also i got a set of just crayola colored pencils for christmas and it’s been fun using those too

and like i recognize this sounds like A Lot of stuff but the most important thing to me is a range of colors. i see people swearing up and down by, like, fountain pens (scary) or tombow brush pens (expensive) or very specific gel pens and like, i don’t need Top Quality stuff. the only thing in my list that i can’t get at target is the a&o stuff and that’s just because they’re an online only company. the end

Desmond was two. 

He was finally learning to walk. He looked like he should have been able to from birth but it still took a while to get it.

It was Altair’s nightmare.

Now he could wander. Or fall. Or bump into things. Or climb something.

Altair sometimes woke up in the middle of the day in a cold sweat after finding Desmond at the bottom of the stairs in the castle in his stress nightmares.

He wasn’t speaking yet though, despite Altair’s efforts. The master wasn’t upset about it but the mistress was. She kept telling Altair he needed to try harder. Altair didn’t know what else to do. He talked to Desmond all the time, asked him questions, engaged him in what they did during the night.

Altair was heading for bed one night. He’d put Desmond to sleep before the sun rose and he would sleep all day without issue. The master was waiting by his closet. He put his eyes down. “Master, did you need something?”

“Yes. We are having a guest arrive today. Before sunset. I require you to meet them in the light and have his attendants bring his sarcophagus to one of the empty chambers here in the castle.”

Altair half looked up, confused. He looked into the master’s chest. “A guest?” he asked.

“Yes. An old associate of mine. This is an important task, understand?”

“Yes, master. Do… do you need me to stay awake all day to wait for them?”

“He won’t arrive until late in the day. And it is important you are rested to care for Desmond. So rest, but not so deeply you don’t wake before dusk.”

“Yes, master,” Altair bowed. He didn’t straighten until the master was gone and went to his own chambers elsewhere in the castle.

He got ready for bed but slept poorly, knowing he needed to wake early. He woke well before dusk, going out to the castle steps and sitting, waiting. The sky was slowly turning orange and pink and Altair drifted in and out of a dozing state after his bad sleep. 

He started awake as he heard the sound of hooves on the path leading up the castle and scrambled to his feet. He waited. He shook his head, sure he was dreaming at what was coming up the path. It was a carriage being pulled by...vertically black and white striped horses. Four of them, pulling a black carriage being manned by two drivers and he could see three men hanging off the back as well.

The carriage came around the drive and stopped in front of the stairs. “Hail,” one of the drivers called.

“Hail,” Altair lifted a hand, staring at the striped horses. “I take it you’re the guest we’re expecting.”

“Yes,” the driver got down. “His majestic Malik ibn-Selim el-Jama al-Sayf of the Sunfaire Abode.”

“Oh,” that meant nothing to Altair. “The master is sleeping currently. I’m to show you where to bring the sarcophagus.”

“Very good,” and then he spoke another tongue to the others and the three men got off the back of the carriage. They were huge dark skinned men with wide shoulders and biceps as large as Altair’s torso. They opened the back of the carriage, talking to each other. The second driver joined them and he was as big as the men in the back. They dragged a sarcophagus halfway out of the carriage and then they hoisted the wooden box up onto their shoulders. The first driver looked back at Altair, “Lead the way then,” he said.

Altair was so stunned he couldn’t move for a moment and then he nodded. “Yes. Yes come follow me,” he beckoned. They followed him, climbing the stairs as Altair quickly opened the front door for them. “I assume your master is sleeping as well?” he asked the driver.

“Yes. We’ve been trying to make the going as easy as possible,” he said.

“This way,” and he led them down the hallway to where there were empty rooms, close to Desmond’s room too. He opened a few doors into empty rooms to find the nicest one and motioned the pallbearers inside. They went in and laid the sarcophagus down gently. They spoke to each other in the language Altair didn’t know briefly and one undid a few latches on the box and then they all filed back out.

“And where may we put the zebras? And where are we staying?” the driver asked.

“There’s a stable around the side. And… I don’t know where you will be staying. Your master will have to arrange that with mine.”

“Hmmm, very well.” More unknown words were spoken and then they all leff, leaving Altair alone in the hallway. Did he go after them? No. That didn’t seem right. He wasn’t needed to help them. 

While he’d been waiting for their guest it had gotten dark out. Desmond would be waking soon and Altair hadn’t eaten yet. He quickly went to the kitchen to grab something for breakfast before making his way back to Desmond’s room. As he was, eating the cheese and meat stuffed bun, a door opened. Altair froze when a figure he didn’t recognize stepped out from the room. He quickly looked down, realizing it was the master’s guest.

“That was the worst day’s sleep I’ve had in centuries,” he heard the vampire grumble. “You there,” his voice was directed towards him.

“Yes, sir?” he kept his eyes down and put the bun behind his back even as the vampire’s shoes came into his sight on the floor.

“You are the help here?”

“In a way, sir,” he said. “I look after young master Desmond.”

“Ah, yes, of course. I assume I’m too early for breakfast then?”

“The sun set a moment ago, sir. The rest of the coven has yet to wake.”

“I see-- would you look up? Didn’t William teach his help to look at who they speak to,” he sounded annoyed.

Altair would rather look than make a vampire angry. He looked up at Malik. “He prefers I keep my eyes down,” he said truthfully.

Malik rolled his eyes and muttered under his breath that while he couldn’t understand did sound a lot like ‘of course he does’ in an annoyed way. He wasn’t like the other members of the coven. Malik was fairly dark skinned for a vampire with a thick head of black hair that was messed from sleeping but not so unruly he couldn’t comb it back with his fingers. Like the others he had pure black eyes but they didn’t seem as sharp. Maybe it was because of the black painted lines around the edges even if they were a bit smudged. It took Altair a moment to recognize it. He’d only ever seen ladies wear eye makeup before. “Well you can show me where the dining room is then, yes? I can wait for them.”

“Of course, sir,” Altair nodded and turned on a heel and headed for the dining room. “The kitchen is down through there if you don’t want to wait,” he pointed at the stairwell leading down when he brought the vampire to the dining room.

“I shall be a courteous guest and wait,” the vampire said and sat.

“Very good, sir. If you’d excuse me,” he bowed.

“Where are you going?”

Altair paused before he left. “I’m going to get young master Desmond.” He was looking at the table, not at the new vampire.

“Silly me, of course. My sleep made me forgetful. Off you go,” and Altair retreated, stuffing the rest of the bun into his mouth on his way back.

Desmond was groggy and whiny when Altair picked him up from his bed. “Come now, Des, its time for breakfast,” he bounced the boy gently to wake him up. The little vampire yawned and behind him his weak wings fluttered and closed against his back again. “Yes yes, very cute, but it’s time to wake up.”

He got Desmond dressed and made sure he was awake before taking him to the dining room. Some other members of the coven were already there, talking with Malik. Altair just sat in a chair at the far end of the table with the baby quietly. He was only allowed to do this until the Matron came for meals and took Desmond away, then he was to go away until the meal was over.

Desmond was more awake now and did not want to be in Altair’s lap. So he let him stand next to the table and he bounced up and down to see over it before climbing into the chair next to Altair and standing on it to get a view of the dining room. Altair kept a hand near his back in case he needed to catch him. He could walk but not very well and sometimes still fell onto his butt or knees. When they were alone it was fine but here? As more of the coven was coming in for breakfast? If the child fell he’d be done for.

Eventually the Matron came to breakfast. She cooed at Desmond as she picked him up from the chair, ignoring Altair entirely. He slid off the chair as some went to go get a fresh meal for the rest of the coven. He waited outside the dining room for meal to be over and took Desmond when the Matron left the dining room.

Back in Desmond’s room Altair tried, unsuccessfully, to engage Demond in talking. He’d read Desmond a thousand books and sang him songs and talked about musical instruments and theory and anything to encourage the boy to speak. To at least want to tell Altair to do it again. Even just to say Altair’s name. Or call his mother. But like all the other days it didn’t happen and Altair ended up laid on the rug in annoyance watching Desmond scribble with colored crayon on scrap paper. He did love to draw at least. And he loved when Altair sang to him. Even if Altair was not a good singer. Sometimes he even made noises like he was singing along with Altair, little squeaks and beeps of noise.

Maybe that was something.

When the sun rose he put Desmond to bed and went down to the town. He was the master’s servant but he wasn’t a captive. They’d just made it very clear if he left and never returned they would hunt him down and kill him. So long as he came back.

His father’s workshop was attached to his family home. He’d been training to make violins from his father when he’d been volunteered. His father had always been an early riser and Altair wasn’t surprised to find him there, stringing bows with cat gut and waxing them flat. Umar was surprised to see him. “Altair, what are you doing here?”

“Hello to you too,” Altair said tiredly.

Umar was chastised, “Hello, son. What brings you here? Had enough of the castle life?” it was a minor tease but went right to Altair’s gut. Did they think he was pampered up there or something? Surely they had to realize he wasn’t a guest in the home of a vampire. He didn’t say anything about that. He just ignored the question entirely.

“May I have one of the violins?”

“Huh?” Umar was confused.

“I’ve told you I’m looking after the master’s son,” he said. Umar nodded. “He’s old enough to start talking but he isn’t. The masters are getting... increasingly upset about this. I can’t figure out a way to get him to talk.”

“Some children just take time,” Umar said gently.

“I know that. But that isn’t good enough for my masters, father,” Altair sighed. “But he makes noises when I sing to him, like he wants to sing along. I thought maybe music would get the words out?”

“Ah,” Umar nodded sagely. “Yes. We’ve had a few kids start talking to sing along with a fiddle player,” he agreed. “You’re, of course, welcome to whichever you wish,” he motioned to the workshop. There were only a few completed violins hanging on the wall, their wooden bodies shiny and beautiful. 

“Thank you.”

“Though I should make you make your own,” Umar chuckled.

Altair sighed. “I only wish, father,” he said earnestly. “I hope I get to return and finish learning,” before he died. That was left unsaid. Umar was not a young man. He and Altair’s mother had had Altair late, which was why she wasn’t here for him. Umar had raised Altair alone, their only child.

“I’m sure you will. It’s just until that brat is older yes?”

“Yes. The master promised once Desmond was half grown I could return back down here to the mountain.”

“Well that isn’t too bad. You’re young. A decade won’t feel like that long.”

“I suppose,” Altair sighed. “Let me pick one and get back. I still haven’t been to sleep yet.” Umar left him to select one of the violins. 

He picked a brightly polished one and tested it under his chin. It felt familiar and filled him with nostalgia. He tested the strings and even untuned, the strings loose, the sound it made was rich and melodic and Altair was satisfied. He put it, two bows and extra catgut and wax into a lined case. “Thank you, dad,” he said as he clipped the case closed.

“Of course, my boy. Whatever you need,” Umar said.

“I’ll try and visit again.”

“It’s alright. I know we run on opposite schedules now. Don’t feel you need to risk your sleep for me. I know you’ll be back.”

“Thank you,” Altair bowed a little before heading back to the castle.

Part 5

Summary: Oliver and reader are dating, they meet at a book store.

His stool creaked and he was working on his new project, when he felt a light tapping on his shoulder. Glancing, there was no one there but he catching a whiff of your perfume; he smiled. Seeing Arthur, he had sat up in his doggie bed and his tail was happily wagging. He turned suddenly and caught you as you tried to tap his shoulder again.

Both of you erupting into giggles. “I caught you!” You both a share a very brief hug, sighing you parted. You both were very aware of where you were, last night the two of you decided to keep things quiet. Neither of you want it to get awkward.

“We should meet up later.” He whispered to you.

“Yes! Where?” Glancing, around he grabbed your hand. You interlaced your fingers. Your eyes were warm and a lit with the idea.

“Let’s meet at, Writer’s Block.”

“Oh, is that the bookstore you mentioned?”

He nodded. “I’ll text you the directions later.”

“Ok, great.”

“So yes,” He let go of your hand. “Do not be afraid of making multiple drafts. Sometimes, you go through several before you hit your groove.” He suggested becoming formal.

“Ahh, so you just work and work until you find something you like?”

“Yes. Exactly.”

“Oh, there you are.” She smiled at you. “Hello, Oliver.” Janice, the head of office negotiations came into the studio.

“Hello. This Dancing Zebras project is coming along.”

“Good, good.”

“I was just encouraging her to not worry about all the sketches she is bound to make.”

Janice nodded. “He’s right. He’s our master.” She smiled.

Oliver flushed. “I just work as hard as everyone.”

“Y/N don’t let him kid you, he out this firm on the map.”

Oliver, rolled his eyes and smiled.

The guys are downstairs, ready to show you the printing process. They have the colors lined up.”

“Wonderful. I’m excited.” You smiled at him. “Nice chatting with you, Oliver.”

“Likewise.” And soon he started a new sketch.

A few hours, later when Oliver was certain no one was around, he messaged you.

His Sweetness: I wish I could have kissed you.

You: You still could. I could sneak over and see you.

His Sweetness: Do you dare?

He turned in time, you to run in he put a quick arm around you and you shared a very quick but soft kiss, before you ran off again.

You: That was fun.

His sweetness: Yes, it is. Now, as for writer’s block its three blocks down from here for four down on 24 Laredo Dr.

You: See you, then. 💞

His Sweetness: yes, 💘

At one point he got up to grab a cup of coffee, while it was brewing, he leaned in the doorway. As he did, he watched as you focused on whatever you were drawing. For a moment, you looked up and tucked some hair behind your ear. You both shared a brief smile.

When he left to meet you at Writer’s Block, he was happy to see your car was gone. It did not take terribly long to get to the bookStore. The weather was lovely today, the sun was out with only the random puffy cloud.

Arriving there, he put Arthur back on his leash after cutting the engine. He stopped just in the door way and grabbed Arthur, one of the doggie treats they had out on a plate. He tucked it away for later.

Looking around, when he didn’t immediately see you, he started walking among the rows and rows books. Arthur happily walking along side him.

“There you are!” You happily exclaimed.

Ahhh, he called out in the instant of fear. But the two of you broke into giggles.

“So what do you think of this place?”

Your eyes grew wide. “This place is amazing.” You leaned in close looking from side to side. “I found a very fun book?”

“Oh?”

You held up two books, he glanced down at it. He chuckled and smirked. “Well, is quite the selections there. We should look them over.” He gestured to the small little seat in the corner.

“Yes, we should!”

Once they sat down, he sat down Oliver smiled at Arthur. “Ready for your treat Arthur?”

He smiled at you. “Would you like to give him a treat?”

You smiled, “I would love to.”

“It’s in my pocket.”

You leaned in close, and reaching around you put your hand in his pocket. He moved close as you looked up at him as reached across his lap. “The treat is in my other pocket.”

“Oh.” You moved just so and gave him a kiss. You both sighed into it.

He felt as you moved while you kissed and he smiled, “You are quite sneaky.”

You giggled. “I have my moments. Oo! Got it.” You turned to Arthur, “Would you like your treat sweet boy?”

Arthur, came over and looked up at her with a very happy expression on his face. “He really likes you.” He whispered in your ear.

“I hope so.” You beamed and then happily you gave it to him.

Arthur stretched out and began nibbling at the treat.

“What shall we look at first?”

“Let’s look at the destination book first.”

Leaning shoulder to shoulder, you looked at an array of brightly colored places people could travel to and see.

“I want to go there.” You pointed to foggy shot of London.

“Oh, that could be nice.” He pointed to a cafe in France.”

The two of you continued to look at so many different places. You the rested, your head on his should and placed a hand on his thigh, “Shall we look at the other book?”

A smirk curled his lips. “Certainly.”

You handed him the book, ‘Joy of Sex’ you both looked shyly at each other. A laughter bubbled from Oliver.

Looking at each other, together you opened the book. “Oh, now how about this?” You giggled and hid your face into his arm. He made, a soft questioning sound.

“Yes, that would be nice.” As you looked at Oliver, he saw that your cheeks were flushed. You peaked over, “Let’s see.” You flipped a few books. “Oh, here we go.” She looked at you with your eyebrows raised. “How about this?”

Oliver smirked, “I like that one. Let’s see...” and soon, he glanced through the next few pages. “Oh, these are nice ones, let’s try seventy-six through eighty-two.”

The two of you were sitting in the corner of Provence, the new French cafe that had opened the down the street from Writer’s Block. Sitting, very close together. You had an incredibly, light dinner and now, it was time to share the dessert.

The waitress, soon placed the custard in front of the two of you. Your eyes, lit up. “This looks so good.” You whispered.

“It does.” He agreed, gently he picked up, one of the raspberries that laid on the surface of the custard. “Open my sweetness.”

As he pulled you close, his hands slipped under soft blouse. You felt as soft as he had expected. Your lips had met and still were as sweet as the custard and strawberries the two of you had just shared. Oliver, was beginning to realize was that he was growing incredibly fond of the feel of you and your kisses.

Slowly as one, you both walked back to her bed. Giggling, when you walked up against her bed. Soon, breathless and wanting more crawled onto her bed.

“Oliver,” You finally managed to breath. “I want to feel more of you.” As he braced himself above you. He eased himself to be along side of you.

“Let me see more of you.” Oliver, pulled back and watched as you slipped from the cute blouse to reveal a cami that allowed him to see more of you.

He smoothed his hand over your soft, stomach as he pulled you to him. “You are lovely.” He whispered, meeting your lips he kissed you deeply once again.

He sighed against your lips when he felt your fingers entwine in his hair.

You both were startled when, someone came and rung her doorbell and banged on her door. Looking surprised, you looked at each other.

“Maybe they will go away.” You whispered.

He nodded. “Hopefully, with that kind of racket.”

Your eyes locked with his, you pulled him to you as your lips met once again.

Both of you jumped as whoever did the pounding in the door, and rung the doorbell, did it again. This time, even Arthur gave a short bark in response.

“I better tell whoever this is, to go away.” Your lips grazed his as you spoke.

“Ok.”

Opening your bedroom door you stopped and came back over and slipped back on your blouse. Nervously, you ran a few fingers through your hair.

“Oliver, I have to answer.” Your pressed your lips made a grimace. “My cousin who lives out here, I guess found out from my parents that I live here.”

“Oh.” Disappointment, crept into his stomach.

How to Take Cute, but Effective Notes

Notes can always be cutesy and kawaii, but a lot of times they lack in information. Any student should learn to take notes that you’ll use and find aesthetically pleasing. It can be hard to balance these out at times, but I’m here to help!

Hi there! I’m not the best at note taking, but I have a pretty good idea of what I’m doing. I thought I would share some knowledge with you lovely people.

Supplies:

Highlighters are an essential tool. I use these zebra mid liners, but feel free to use regular highlighters like sharpie or Bic. Make sure to have a few colors at hand in case you have multiple sets of vocabulary or facts you want to separate.

I like to keep my notes in a notebook. Some people like to take notes in loose leaf paper though. This one is completely up to preference.

Pens are important. If you are a lefty like me, you’ll want to get a quick dry pen, so you don’t smear the ink. It is important that you let the ink dry completely before highlighting.

Taking the Notes:

Always have a reference. Don’t ever use the information off the top of your head. Use a book, website, or class notes.

Only use the most important information. No one wants to hear the life story of an equation. Just explain the steps in how to solve it.

Keep it organized. Keep your handwriting neat, and don’t add weird breaks and stuff.

Make sure you include your sources ie: Book page, website, or class.

If you are working with math, ALWAYS double check your work.

Don’t over highlight. A good rule is to ask yourself if you would remember this or need this enough to know exactly where it is in your notes.

Use common sense. Don’t add details you’ll never need in class.

Always add dates in history. Dates are important.

Abbreviate words you’ll use a lot.

It’s okay if it looks ugly. Just don’t post it. Use it in class.

headers before paragraphs

Vocab in the margins

Doodles to represent the lesson or chapter

Graphs or charts

Quotes

how did you get into bullet journaling??? i really want to but im nowhere near as artsy as you and im not sure what pages to make since i keep my calender in my phone ))): i like making lists though!!! any tips???

Oh boy, I have come to LOVE bullet journaling. I really sneered at it like a huge shithead until I eventually came around, like with a lot of stuff I sneer at. Lesson learned: no one is too cool to like something fun.

I had the same dilemma at first. Like, what do you need to get started? What should your journal be??? But that’s the real beauty of the bujo -- it can be ANYTHING. It only has to make YOU happy.

My first step was to decide if I wanted to keep a theme. I like a real minimalist look, but you can go in any direction. Some people keep journals that look like scrapbooks, or full of botanical illustrations, watercolor, stickers, washi tape, photos, anything. Literally anything. Go on Pinterest and search bullet journals, and you’ll get some great ideas to inspire you.

You need a journal, some pens, a ruler, and any markers and embellishments you want. Think of this as your practice journal. It doesn’t have to be perfect, it’s just for fun. That’s how I started mine, and it was nice to have no pressure to make it some work of art.

I made a page for the fiber & protein content of foods I like, for places I visit with my kid, loved ones to check in with, podcasts to listen to. Chart the shows you’re watching, movies and books and music. Make a page for your page ideas. Why not?

For materials, if you are looking for recommendations, I like my Rhodia dot pad because the paper is thick and smooth, it doesn’t tend to let ink bleed, and it has perforated pages so if you fuck up you can get rid of them. I like a Micron .005 pen for real small work, and Papermate Flair M pens for general stuff (they come in tons of fun colors). I got a set of cheap ass highlighters from Target that are beautiful, and also the pricey set of Zebra Mildliners that every bujo keeper seems to have, which are also beautiful, but you don’t need both. I like washi tape, and you can always find cute ones for cheap at Walmart, or check online for patterns you might like.

In the end, it’s whatever you want it to be. You don’t have to keep it religiously, just let it be fun. It’s been great for me because I have a hard time remembering things, but if all my lists are in one place, boom! A handy reference book. And doing a monthly calendar and habit tracker forces me to draw at least two things each month.

I am sad sixty-four percent of the time and likely numb for the rest of it

There are days I can barely harness enough focus to read a single sentence

I want to live in Europe but don’t tell people that because every girl wants to live in Europe but I do not like being seen as every girl

I want to discover new things about this person every day until I breathe my final breath
