The red areas are hydrogen alpha emitting regions captured using a 20nm narrow band filter. The airglow this evening was particularly strong while the Large Magellanic Cloud can be seen in the top right corner.

Milky Way at Mandu Mandu Gorge - Exmouth, Western Australia by Trevor Dobson Via Flickr: Nikon d810a 85mm ISO 6400 f/2.5 Foreground: 36 x 30 seconds Sky: 58 x 30 seconds iOptron SkyTracker Hoya Starscape filter This is a 94 shot panorama of the Milky Way above Mandu Mandu Gorge near Exmouth in Western Australia. The Exmouth peninsula is about 13 hours drive north of Perth and this panorama was taken a few days before the total solar eclipse. This was quite a trek to get to this location, through large pebbled grounds, a trek I was doing for the second time that day after scoping out the area earlier. I was looking for a part of the gorge which would complement the arch of the Milky Way. I was also not completely alone while shooting this panorama, with an animal, either wallaby or dingo, moving around in the bush you can see near the middle part of the gorge. Thankfully it wasn't curious enough to come take a closer look at me.

Majestic Night 🗿🌋✨🏄‍♂️🐠🌊 📸@yuribeletsky Moai giant under the stars :) I captured this image of a moai monolithic statue at Easter Island in the Southern Pacific. It was rather a cloudy night and we just got a little bit of clear sky. On the starry sky on the foreground, you can also see both Large and Small Magellanic clouds. They are actually the closest to us galaxies, not the real clouds ;) Staying next to those statues at night was a fascinating experience. Milky Way at Vlamingh Head Lighthouse - Exmouth, Western Australia by Trevor Dobson Via Flickr: Nikon d810a 85mm ISO 6400 f/2.5 Foreground: 32 x 30 seconds Sky: 62 x 30 seconds iOptron SkyTracker Hoya Starscape filter This is a 94 shot panorama of the Milky Way above Vlamingh Head Lighthouse, just north of Exmouth in Western Australia. The lighthouse is not active and sits on top of a small bluff at the tip of the Exmouth peninsula, so the horizon is a little bit below me as you can see on the right with some of the Indian Ocean visible. Also being 1300km further north than where I normally do my astro the Milky Way looks a little lower and not so arched while the Magellanic Clouds are also quite a bit lower in the sky, in fact the SMC here is completely hidden behind the bluff and the LMC I believe is behind either the lighthouse or the small hut to its right. This was taken a few nights before the eclipse
