When Viper decides it's time to ask Maverick about his love life he expects some passing comments and two minutes tops of him rumbling about Charlie. What he receives back is one hour and forty-five minutes of him bitching about that fucker (Iceman) and his fucking way of flying (too textbook). Around half an hour in Viper asks the question again but Maverick looks at him like he grown three heads or is particularly stupid and goes back talking about Kazansky. Viper finds himself drinking beer and begging for something stronger to appear in front of him. When he's finally done Maverick say that fucker (again) and I really like him, smiling dumbly at his beer bottle.

Viper smiles, trying to look supportive and has to bite his own tongue before saying something stupid that could potentially trigger another hour of him talking. He pats the man's back and silently promises himself to never ask the same question again.

(But apparently his memory is short, worst than a golden fish, because through the years he's going to ask the same question over and over again, receiving back various lovesick answers sometimes even longer than the first one.)

(featuring some implied Kane tragedy and one sad Jacob song lol)

but all is not lost! as the Burners chip away at Kane's control and more Deluxians see the truth and escape, the two cities begin to affect each other more...and Motorcity has a few things to teach the kids up top about stickin' it to The Man when it's needed most.

hiii I saw the ask on camp byler about the party’s cars and since you know cars I was curious have you ever thought about period accurate (80s/90s) cars the party might get or brands that suit them :)

don't mind me answering an ask from SEPTEMBER i am just currently Thinking about Cars . nods at you.

i have def thought about period accurate cars -- mostly for mike and will, but defining their period accurate cars, particularly mike's, is what got me excited thinking about what cars they would drive!

for starters, i have always headcanoned mike in a 1988 pontiac sunbird convertible:

this one is a turbo, which i don't think his parents would splurge for, but you Get the Idea. it for sure gives that clunkier body style that i associate with a lot of cars from that decade, but it's also Kind of sleek at the same time and i think mike would think it's Cool, which is Important to him. and Me. it also does seat 5 so he could cart around almost the whole party <3 mike is very much a car guy to me and you can pry that real and true headcanon from my cold dead hands. thanks.

i've only ever also thought about will's car, and i think he would have a 1990 ford escort:

which my only reasoning for is that it was the successor vehicle to the pinto (which is what joyce drives). i think he'd be sharing this with his mom/el (if she drives), so it's not necessarily His car, but it's what he drives. 2 me.

i'd really have to think about the other party members, so i may come back to this, but that's what i have for now !!

The way I would love a Mike as a Disney princess anything, but like, tbh I could only picture him in those super independent roles like Elsa/Merida/Moana, maybe Rapunzel because he wouldn't fall for half the tricks the princesses fall for (unless he was sheltered af, but I couldn't see Ted or Karen doing that...maybe Hopper.) Love them, tho.

For as into this series as I have been for the near decade it's been around, I have never been that into the non-game material (ie the books) (the movie is an outlier bc watching thinfs is easier for me than reading things) and as such my knowledge on the characterization that stuff gives characters is something a bit alien to me unless it's constabtly brought up in analysis/ theory videos.

With all that said: Every time someone describes Micheal I learn a new thing that makes me go "dear god he's me fr" and atp I'm cooked.
