Geralt believed that after Ciris' birth things would be different, and things were different for a year at best. But then everything went back to the same old routine. Yennefer was in New York or London or Berlin and Geralt sat at home, the only thing that was truly different, Geralt wasn't alone, no there was Ciri, his daughter, his whole world that he needed to protect.
When Ciri was old enough to go to the Kindergarten Yennefer and Geralt figured out that they needed to go separate ways. Yennefer loves her Job to much, she really was the unpaid intern that made it to the top of this really big Marketing firm. And she isn't a family person, she tried to be one for Ciri, but she was afraid that she will regret that and will blame Ciri for it in the future, and her daughter didn't deserve this.
So now when Yennefer is in town, the three spend time together as a little family. It wasn't the family Geralt hoped for, but it's real. And some parents might not believe it but they are all really good with this. In the time they spend with Ciri they are really happy, and the phone calls Ciri has with her mother weekly are really good for their relationship.
Geralt came to the conclusion that having a family that is really happy and working is much better than to force a family together to fit the image everyone has.

The next day Geralt brought Roach back home before he went to pick up Ciri, and he checked for his wallet three times. He waited as usual in front of the kindergarten. Ciri is running right up at him, in her beautiful green dress. This morning they had an argument because Ciri wanted to wear her favorite dress so badly and Geralt was afraid that she would mess it up in the Kindergarten, but as Ciri promised it's all fine and she looks like the little princess she is to Geralt.
"Hot Chocolate Day!" Ciri is chanting as she is running to her Dad.
"Yes Sweetheart today I am fully prepared for the Coffeeshop."
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!"
The Coffeeshop is near the Park where Ciri's favorite playground is. That's how they discovered it. Geralt pushed Ciri on the swing when a heavy rain surprised them. Geralt covered his daughter under his jacket and ran in the next building he found. The sweet little Coffeeshop at the Park. Geralt liked it because it wasn't that big and not many people fit in there and Ciri loved it because it's near her favorite playground and because they have so many beautiful cups and mugs.
They arrived at the Coffeeshop and because they already became regulars so they got greeted nicely. At first Geralt didn’t like it that strangers knew Ciri’s name, but he got used to it and the staff here is really nice.
A young tall man came up to their table and Ciri jumps up and ran towards him
"Jaskier! Look that’s my favorite dress”
“Oh hi Ciri it’s really beautiful, you look like a princess”
Geralt watches the scene with eagle eyes, but he knows Jaskier is no harm for his little girl, he is usually their waiter when they are in the Coffeeshop.
Jaskier lets Ciri twirl around herself, so the pretty green dress starts flying.
“My Daddy says that too.” Ciri stops spinning.
“Your Daddy says what ?” Jaskier seems to be confused with that statement.
“This morning my Daddy also said that I look like a princess. And when I am a princess my Dad must be a king right?”
“Then lead me to your king, princess Ciri.”
Jaskier could clearly see Geralt sitting at their favorite spot at the window, but he likes to play along with Ciri’s little games.
“Your Majesty I present to you, your daughter princess Ciri” Jaskier takes a bow in front of Geralt and Ciri tries to stay in character but could resist a little laugh.
“I have been sent directly from the kitchen to ask what the King and his daughter would like to eat and drink today.”
Geralt is a little lost for words, normally these silly games stay between Ciri and Jaskier, but now he is dragged into it like a theater play and he hasn’t learned his lines. Geralt tries his best to play along because he knows how much it means to his little girl if he does.
“May he bring us hot chocolate and strawberry pie for the princess and mint tea and cheesecake for me the King.”
Ciri giggles again.
“I like Jaskier he always so funny and nice to us”
“Yeah that is true”
Geralt stares out of the window, and he just enjoys the quiet coffeeshop. It wasn’t actually quiet but it wasn’t stressful like his day at the fire station. There was a fire near in the forest this morning, just because some stupid assholes had Barbeque last night and didn’t end their fire properly.
He turns around and on the table are the ordered pies and his tea but no hot chocolate is there and Ciri is gone too.
Panic runs through Geralt's veins, where is she? He was just looking away for a second. But then he saw her holding on to Jaskier’s hand as they picked a cup for her hot chocolate. How could he forget that she always picks a new beautiful cup to drink her hot chocolate from. She walked back to her Dad and sat next to him on the bench.
“I picked a cup with stars and the moon on it”
Jaskier walks over to their table and places Ciris cup right next to her pie.
“I saw there was smoke in the forest, was there a fire?”
At first Geralt is confused because he never told Jaskier that he is a Firefighter, but then he remembered that Ciri talks a lot with Jaskier if he has the time.
“Yeah there was a fire, but gladly it was near the forest not directly in there.” Jaskier looks relieved.
“Some people made a barbeque there and the remaining hot ashe lit the dry grass on fire”
Geralt could see the disbelief in Jaskier’s face, he really couldn’t hide his emotions.
“I hope you and your crew are okay”
“We are good, it was just another fire because of careless people”
He didn’t wanna say drunk people in front of Ciri, but the look on Jaskier’s face showed him that he did understand what he meant with “careless”.
“Ciri, your Dad is truly a hero, he and his crew saved the forest”
Ciri grinned and cheered “yes they are all heroes, my Dad, uncle Eskel, uncle Lambert and Vesemir”
New customers enter the place and Jaskier has to leave Geralt and Ciri. They eat and drink and Ciri told stories from the Kindergarten and from her best friend Dara. Even more people entered the coffeeshop as they left. They waved Goodbye to Jaskier and left the busy place. With Ciri’s tiny hand in his own he was so happy he had a daughter like her and this little coffeeshop they could call their special place.

So many little pink houses
My very first entry for the @flashfictionfridayofficial prompt #235 — Little Pink Houses, read under the cut 💖

Summary: Dara got to many little pink houses for christmas, Percy is not amused.

Percy sighed. It was a good job he loved his daughter more than life. How had nobody communicated about her Christmas presents? Now he had a bunch of different sized little pink houses dotted around the place. Viktor had seen him trying to organise them, laughed and walked away, the git.
So here Percy was, trying to convince Dara that yes, her 12 pink houses would be fine. That they could shrink some of them and rotate them. That he would do practically anything to get these monstrosities off his living room floor.
He turned as he heard someone enter. As soon as Harry walked through the door, he jumped back with a yelp. “Percy, what was that for?” he asked, annoyed.
“Because you overindulge, you twat. She didn’t need 2 different Barbie doll houses and a LOL doll set off you and George alone,” he answered, seething. “And that’s not to mention everyone else she asked for one from. So now I have 12 stupid different pink houses here. That one, that one’s a Sylvannian Families one. She doesn’t even like them, she hates how they feel. Now I have to get rid of it in a few weeks so she doesn’t have a meltdown because she can’t play with it. And I’m blaming you,” he said as he waved his wand in Harry’s face.
“Well, just put a few away. Which are her favourites?” Harry asked.
“All of them!” Percy said, glaring at his brother-in-law. “And it’s all your bloody fault. Why did you have to start selling muggle toys, too? In your bloody shop? She wouldn’t have seen them otherwise.” He groused.
“I’d say I’m sorry, but I’m not. They sell so well in Hogsmeade, especially when we enchant the dolls.” Harry explained.
“Yeah, well, bully for you. Now my living room is full of little pink houses. We have Barbie, Polly Pocket, The Littlest Pet shop, that big wooden thing mum brought, Hermione got her one that she has to build herself. Harry …” Percy said as he leant in close. “She doesn’t even like pink Harry,” he hissed out. Causing Harry to throw his head back and laugh.
Just then, the menace in question came running into the room screaming “Uncle Harry” at the top of her lungs. Percy watched, heart in his throat as Harry picked her up and threw her around. He knew better than to say anything, otherwise they would do it more, but he hated it.
He stood watching with a smile as Dara talked to Harry. Suddenly tuning in when something caught his attention. “Who is being mean to Aster?” he asked.
“A boy he plays with Daddy, he said boys can’t like pink. Aunt Pansy said sometimes muggles have silly ideas like that and it was ok, but now Aster won’t have any pink in his bedroom. So I said that’s ok. I will ask for lots of pink, even if I don’t like it, and his silly friend can’t come to play. But when Aster does, we will have lots to play with. And look daddy, we do.” Dara said as she spread her arms wide, beaming.
Percy looked at Harry and noticed he too had tears in his eyes. “How are you the sweetest child to ever be born, Dara?” he asked huskily as she giggled in Harry’s arms.
Percy couldn’t wait anymore. He grabbed her back and hugged her tight. “I love you so much, sweetheart,” he said. Dara snuggled in her father’s arms, surrounded by too many pink houses that were bound to drive Percy barmy, but he would deal with it for Aster and Dara, his amazing girl.
“I’ll go floo Nev, you go tell Viktor, I will text George to expect a gushing floo call.” Harry said with a laugh as he watched Percy pouring so much love and adoration into the little being in his arms.
That didn’t stop him chuckling on the way out about how he had enchanted the Lol dolls and their house so that they never stayed put and the pieces would randomly change colour. Dara would adore it. Percy was going to go spare when he figured it out.

I've never really thought of her mirror counterpart aside from she has daddy issues 😔
But I think she'd also be very distant from people in general and a selective mute compared to dara's chatty social self

The Sun Summoner
Evermore
“That is impossible!”
“She’s too young!”
“I’ve seen it, I’ve seen what she can do!”
“Absolutely not!”
“She needs to remain here or else she’ll kill someone!”
“Light, she’s just a child! She can’t be more than 6, she hasn’t even said a word since we found her!”
“She must either stay or be stilled!”
Two women dressed in green and blue sit on either side of you, glancing at each other nervously every now and then as the noise of yelling drifts through the hall.
You, however, are frightened. Last night, you were home, and now you were in a eye burningly white palace. You had never seen these types of people before, the one in blue was so pale you thought you’d be able to put a hand through her. Their voices were strange, the way they spoke, the way they looked, even their hair was strange. The seat was hard beneath you and your legs dangled over the edge.
“I heard we had a little girl here, would you like a treat?” A woman asks as she kneels in front of you. She was dressed in brown, her skin was as pale as the woman in blue, but her hair was white unlike the others. She was followed by a small group, but you didn’t see anything besides their shoes.
She looks surprised when you start crying, wailing loudly as heavy salty teardrops stream your face.
“I want to go home,” you cry, breathing heavily as you kick your feet.
“Well at least we know she can speak.”
“Let me try. Would you like a tissue?” A man asks as he takes the place of the strange blonde woman. He holds out a small tissue but you don’t accept, you barely even heard what he said.
“You must be from around Fal Dara. Look at me, I grew up there too,” he says. That forces your eyes open. The man in front of you…looks like you. He rolls his sleeves up to show you more of his skin. His hair was jet black like yours too.
“I know it’s scary coming to a new place where no one looks like you, but it’s less scary now, right?” He asks softly, to which you nod a little.
“My name is Lan, what’s yours?” He asks.
“Viserra…Viserra Atreides. I’m 6,” you tell him.
“Atreides…that’s a Malkien name. I’m from Malkier too,” he smiles. It had been years since he came across a Malkien, sometimes he almost forgot he was a king without a kingdom. You motion for him to come closer and so he leans in.
“Are there any monsters here?” you whisper in his ear.
“Monsters? What kind of monsters?” he asks.
“The ones without eyes, they killed my mommy and daddy,” you whisper. Lan frowns at your response, but he covers it up quick enough that you don’t notice.
“Do you know what an Aes Sedai is?” he asks you. You shake your head. You were still too young to have been told about Aes Sedai, especially since their kind never came around your village.
“Do you know what a warder is?” he asks next. Again, you shake your head.
“I’m a warder, that means I can fight the monsters without eyes. Do you want to see how?” he asks. You nod as you wipe your face and he pulls his sword.
“It’s very sharp, so be careful,” he warns as you stretch a hand out to just barely touch the blade before jumping back.
“You’re safe here, Viserra. You’re Malkien like me, which means I will make sure you are safe. You must be very hungry and they make very good treats here,” Lan says as he takes the pastry and hands it to you.
“These are my friends. That’s Moiraine Sedai, Alanna Sedai, Maksim, Ihvon-“
“Bring the girl in,” Lan is interupted. The large white doors, behind which all the yelling occured, opens. The women in green and blue stand.
“Lan!” you panic, hiding behind his leg, his pants are clenched within your little fists.
“Viserra, do you trust me?” Lan asks as he kneels in front of you. New tears stream down your face, but you nod nonetheless.
“This is my friend Moiraine; I trust her with my life so that means you can trust her too. I need you to be very brave for me. Moiraine will keep you safe and I will stay here to make sure the monsters don’t come, okay?” he promises. When your lip quivers, he hands you off to Moiraine who holds your hand.
You glance back at Lan once more, and he musters a smile before the doors close behind you.
There are 8 women in the room, all wearing different colours.
“Don’t worry Viserra, we’ll take care of everything,” Alanna, the woman in green, assures you as she kneels down and gives your shoulder a light squeeze.
“She is unnatural, she must be stilled!”
“The child has shown no sign of being tainted, I have been sitting with her all day, rushing to still her would be a mistake,” Moiraine speaks up, though you don’t have any idea what any of it means.
“Come here girl,” the woman in the big chair beckons, waving you over. You look up at Moiraine and she nods for you to go. You step up towards her, and her brown eyes look into hers. It was Siuane Sanche’s first year as Amyrlin, and this was her first big decision. When Siuane looks at you, a dirty little girl, she is reminded of herself when she was young.
“I’m 6,” you tell her.
“You’re 6 are you?” she smiles amusedly, her scary facade breaking instantly. She takes one of your hands in hers and offers you a comforting smile as a woman in white brings her a ring.
“This might hurt a little, but I promise it will be over soon,” she assures you. You nod, remembering what Lan said about being brave and close your eyes.
You feel a light scratch on your palm and the room erupts into chaos.
When you open your eyes, there is light shining from your hand like a column up into the ceiling.
“The sun summoner,” Siuane mutters under her breath as the light begins to fade.
The sun summoner was a thing of legends, she had read about it in the restricted part of the library. The part of the library where only the Amyrlin had access.
“What is your name?”
“Viserra.”
“Thank you for your help Viserra, you’ve done very well,” Siuane smiles as she places a napkin into your hand to wipe the blood.
When you climb back down the stairs, Moiraine walks you back out.
“Lan, they cut me!” you cry, your bravery quickly fading as you clutch your hand and bawl, running into him as Moiraine closes the door behind her.
While your eyes remained shut with tears, Lan is quick to wipe tinge blood away.
“Viserra, look, it’s all better now,” Lan informs you.
The door opens again, this time everyone spills out into the corridor and you hide behind Lan once more.
“Viserra will remain in the white tower, as a novice at the very least,” Moiraine tells everyone as they all share a look.
“Which means you get your own room and we’ve got to clean you up. Come, Viserra, we will show you,” Alanna says as she holds a hand out for you. You miss the way some of the reds watch you, but Lan doesn’t.
“I will come too, to help get her situated.”

here is life after academia:
after all but flunking out of a miserable second year at UCLA, the hail mary attempt for a masters ended in a dazzling fizzle of sparks as she wrapped her cherry red porsche around a lamp pole. her parents lowered their expectations. deciding that school didn’t teach her how to appreciate her privilege — rehab it was. the first attempt, at least.
the next six years were a whiplash of benders and rehabs. while floating in and out of sobriety and getting treatment for what mama referred to as “migraines”, dara found out she was pregnant. with something to be sober for beyond herself, she decided to get clean. ish.
life became a whirlwind. pregnant. then married. then a mother. then employed?
but maybe employed isn't the right word. because committee work doesn't quite feel like a job. it’s parties and dinner and guilting prospectives to buy into whatever charity needs it more that month — all so other rich people like her can participate in public altruism. thankfully she knows a lot of rich people. what's a better place to network than a four year stint in the glitziest rehab facility in LA?
who would have thought that miss dara somsri, angelwood's devil, would being doing charity work these days?

a girl can be many things. but dara is simply a disappointment.
despite her dazzling youth and brilliant charm, she lacked the same ambition as her mama or phaw or bpuu. the sharp mind that they gifted to her was wasted in her pursuit of happiness, seemingly achievable solely through the alps in club bathrooms. barely weeks out of high school and they debated behavioural correction programs before settling on college. she was dragged to the plane by her hair, kicking and screaming half-way through the country before being heavily sedated. her cries did nothing for her but cement the somsri’s decision. it was the right choice to isolate her from those good-for-nothing kids who taught her american sins in the first place.
despite the unwanted move, she could always make the best of a bad situation. she was dancing on tables in senior dorms less than twelve hours after touching down. obviously, it was nothing to an LA party but angelwoods made a heroic attempt; thus holding her hand in her downward spiral.
she became a dreadful cunt during the days, constantly irritated due to the never-ending hungover and careless because of the fried circuit board in her head. whatever brilliance she might’ve had was used up when she came up with the brilliant idea to hire people to do her homework.
she was something else in the night.
that was when she came alive, brought to life through ritual — with a drink and a drug and a good pregame CD. every nasty thing she said through the day was forgiven. whatever she’d done forgotten. it certainly helped that she never minded sharing her supply — inviting whoever happened to be in the room with her to do a line with her.
everyone loved her.
almost everyone.
who fucking cared about olive anyway? she's dead.
some people said that the rivalry stemmed from jealousy. olive’s out of envy of everything that dara had and she did not, dara’s from olive’s glowing reputation of which she did not. other people said that olive’s loving family reminded dara of her absentee parents — because even the carte blanche on daddy’s credit card couldn’t buy a family that gave a shit.
truthfully, it was much pettier than that. olive humiliated her. since she was such a fucking know-it-all, dara figured she would gotten the point from the snide remarks, lack of invites out, and the fact she made a point to make out with all of her exes. admittedly, it was a little heavy-handed when dara would knock into her in passing. and the tennis racquet incident was overkill, but it was an accident. probably.
this is a mean girl grown up.
BEL AIR, 1987.
bpuu’s phaw was a rice farmer. when he was a child he would help cut stalks in the fields in his oversized galoshes. the hand-me-downs would one day fit better on him, and became too tight much sooner than he expected. it was difficult to believe this impoverished thailand that bpuu painted as his humble origins — especially as they sat their glossy bel air mansion, held in the safety of the gated community.
he always wanted to be an american. well, perhaps it was better to say he wanted to be rich. and americans were rich. really fucking rich.
maybe that's why he loved his little star as much as he did. she had the great fortune to be born as both. she was proof that his dream to get his family out of the rice fields was fully realized. it was a shame she did so little with the opportunity but he didn't live long enough to see her disappoint him.
now they all loved her, don’t be mistaken. as busy as they were, her family loved her all the same. it was simply different.
being with her bpuu was different from her parents. bpuu showered her endlessly with love, and attention, and gifts. she was lucky if she saw her parents more than once a week. they were preoccupied with the company. the AMEX bill had to come from somewhere. mama was the reason they went international, and phaw probably had something to do with it as well. even if not directly, as the chairman, all accomplishments by the company were his to claim anyway.
she gets it from him — the belief that the world is hers. after all, they did it all for her. for the dream that her life would be easier than theirs.
and it is.
that money is hers too. this is her reparations for their neglect in her childhood, payment for staying quiet and keeping herself entertained while they fought tooth and nail to monopolize thailand’s rice exports. that money is for every birthday she spent alone and every dinner they left to take a call.
none of them understood her loneliness. bpuu had the love of his poor parents. mama was an independent woman from the start. and phaw was cradled with a tiger’s expectations.
they argued she was lucky for her freedom.
but that freedom was nothing more than a pretty name for an endless free fall. all she had to catch her was her rage. a red anger, clinging to her skin like an armour made of molten lava. burning hot and fast and leaving behind not even bone.
she was empty. gorged so heavily on herself yet hollow inside.
dara somsri wanted for nothing. which, in many ways, was what her family always hoped for.

The Uchiha’s made a surprised visit to Madara and Izuna’s shared Home. Tajima had been worried about his sons ever since their proposal to court and wed Senju Butsuma’s second son was harshly denied. It had been two years since that biggest failure and Tajima had to admit he had been too busy with their businesses to ask personally about his sons feelings.
But no more silence and half hearted excuses, its time that he'd be involved in his sons life again.

One day, Madara was unimpressed that his Family made a surprise visit to his and Izuna’s home. Imagine to their surprise when Madara opens the door, he's carrying a child that looks exactly like someone they all know.
The collective Uchiha that stood in front of Madara’s front door blinked in shock.
" Oh, Madara..Why does he looked like, Tobirama–san?!. " Tajima frowned with a disapproval. He eyed the boy's white spiky hair with trepidation. Akira, the eldest of the Tajima’s children only squinted his eyes – a sign that he found that statement ridiculous.
" Did you hire a surrogate to make them pregnant , with Tobirama–san's child? " Kimiko a distant cousin, glared. Kazuya and Haruka ( the youngest of Tajima’s children ) smirk gleefully " That's quite on another level of desperation, Dara!. " The other Uchiha cackled at the Twins mean remark.
Madara sighed and stared up at the ceiling. The little one flashes his bright Rinnegan eyes at the Uchihas making most of them flinched in surprise. Tajima had to sucked in a sharp breath...how did Madara’s child gain their legendary Dojutsu without their Clan knowing about it?.
" Go away!, Daddy and I don't want whatever your selling!. " Madara smiled at his son. The Uchihas are amused and unsettled at the gal of the little Alpha. " and we don't want to join your stupid religion!. " the little one snarled cutely.
Akira cackled gleefully, Tajima bit his lips hard in order to stop the coo building up in his throat, Kimiko, looks constipated and the remaining Uchihas laughs uproariously at the child's cute posturing.
Madara sigh, his lips twitching indicating he's suppressing his laughter. He set the child down and softly patted his little butt. " Run back to Mommy, Obito. I'm sure he's pretty lonely in our bed. Won't you protect Mommy while I'm gone?. " ( You have a secret Wife?! Kimiko whisper/yelled ) The toddler nodded his head seriously and gave one last adorable Rinnegan glare at their surprise guests.
And the Uchihas merely wave a hand at the disgruntled child.
But before Obito could enter the bedroom again, a person emerge from behind the door Madara's guarding. And the Uchihas frown when they saw who it is.
" Papa!. " Obito excitedly toddled towards his other Alpha parent?. Izuna easily scoop up the excited toddler in his arms. " Turned off your Rinnegan, Obito. You wouldn't want Mommy to be upset again, would you?. " Obito shook his head in reply and within one blink and the next his Rinnegan was turned off.
" Papa?. " Tajima looked between his sons who stared back at him blankly. " Where is his other parent?. " The Uchihas scowled as the brothers remain tight lipped.
" Mommy still sleeping?. " Obito patted Izuna's cheek. The Alpha kisses the toddler on his cheek making the child squeal happily. " Hmm...yes, your baby sister's asleep too...why don’t you go back to bed so Mommy and Yuki chan won't be lonely?. " Obito squeak as he's put down on the floor again. Izuna swiftly opens the bedroom door for the toddler to slip through.
Tajima’s eyes widen as his Sharingan eyes sees for a fraction of a second — Senju Tobirama sleeping on a giant bed. The man's thin wrists are adorned with thick Chakra suppression bracelets. His long pale neck wore an expensive collar that flashes Fuinjutsu letterings in the dark room....all the while another toddler girl slept peacefully on his chest.
The last scene his Sharingan recorded before the bedroom door closes — is his Grandson; little Obito...carefully snuggling beside his heavily sleeping Mother.
Horrified silence reign as Tajima and the rest of the Uchiha stared petrified at Madara and Izuna.
" What have you done, my sons!. Have you lost your Goddamn minds!. " Tajima whispered aghast. Akira stood rigidly beside him, his eldest son looked one second away from pounding his little brothers into dust. Even Kazuya and Haruka looked sick at what all of the Uchihas witnessed.
Madara and Izuna merely smirked arrogantly. " What you should have done, Father. We just made sure that Tobirama will be Ours. Its not our Fault that Butsuma is a hard headed asshole and refuse to give us what we are owed. "
Needless to say, this is not what Tajima had in mind for their Family reunion.

my goal as of right now is to:
repost all of the remaining fics I have archived, which isn't a lot. it's still a good way to start this blog off on the right foot tho'. gives it something
literally slam the gokurakugai tag with tao fics so as the fandom grows (which is inevitable since the manga itself is gaining popularity) they'll be there. I wanna eventually branch out to dara, yomi, the daddy lookin' guy, and a few others.
work on that other original vampire one-shot that I'm anticipating will be between 10-12k.

The Witcher fic idea: Edwardian/Steampunk AU. found family/family of choice. G/Y/J friends-to-lovers and back again.
Geralt: retired mercenary turned single father in want of a tutor for his sweet, misunderstood, daughter Ciri. no one really asks how he came to be her guardian; there's rumor of a promise made when he worked for Ciri's grandmother as a bodyguard/confidant.
