It’s funny how our world has turned Yoga into a fitness craze/look at my butt in Yoga pants fiasco. I search Yoga on Tumblr and a good 60% of what comes up is someone in a pose that my 40-year-old body has no interest in doing. The other 30% is girls AND guys showing off their goods..in yoga pants. Omg, Yoga Pants. And then the rest, is looking like that true Yoga. Which is the purpose of this “Yoga” post.

This is my dad with my daughter at the playground. This was the first time that they played together and Josie wasn’t scared of Panka’s wheelchair or slurred speech. He was chasing her, she was laughing, we were hiding, seeking and the overall goofiness was turned up to high. No one was trying. The sun was setting. And we were all in flow together, smiling like the world was ours. And it completely freely ours. We were Yoga.

True Yoga, as I know it, was passed down to me through the lineages of Iyengar then Satchidananda followed by Krishnamacharya & Mark Whitwell. This Yoga is centuries of documented practices that embody all humans (and animals) to be everything they were designed to be. True Yoga is union and harmony.
