Propaganda
Hubert Hawkins, The Court Jester (1955)
Portrayed by: Danny Kaye
“he's hot both in 'local out of his depth idiot mode' and 'over the top romantic hero mode'. he fences like nobody's business. he's the only man of all time to pull off a jester outfit and make it look actually snatched. Danny Kaye needs this, please.”
Saburo Naotora Ichimonji, Ran (1985)
Portrayed by: Ryu Daisuke
“He has some lines that go hard
Saburo Naotora Ichimonji: "...What kind of world do we live in? One barren of loyalty and feeling."
Hidetora: "I'm aware of that."
Saburo Naotora Ichimonji: "So you should be! You spilled an ocean of blood. You showed no mercy, no pity. We too are children of this age... weaned on strife and chaos. We are your sons, yet you count on our fidelity. In my eyes, that makes you a fool. A senile old fool!"
Saburo Naotora Ichimonji: "Does a traitor betray himself?"
Additional Propaganda Under the Cut
Additional Propaganda
For Hubert Hawkins:
“He sings! He dances! He fences! He wears really tight leggings!”
“We love a hot, funny, good-hearted man who subverts the gendered tropes of the subgenre! He is absolutely shit at sword-fighting! He is great at doing funny voices! ‘Tenderness and kindness can also make a man,’ says the awesome trousers-wearing heroine who works alongside him in the anti-tyrannical resistance, ‘a very rare man.’ She's right and she should say it and I support them both so much. Hubert Hawkins, world's sweetest and funniest surprise regent (who gets the girl.) See also attached photo of him goofing around with drums on set, I love him so much.”
For Saburo Naotora Ichimonji:

Black Jack 3: Futari no Kuroi Isha (1996) on archive.org!
There were clips of this movie on YouTube, but now you can watch the whole thing, all 90 mins of it! I've uploaded the movie to archive.org, as well as bonus trailers to my YouTube channel.
Unsure if you wanna watch it? Well:
~APPEAL CHANCE!~
The entire thing takes place in Thailand, and it's filmed on location with actual Thai actors as supporting cast
Anywhere from 15-20% of this movie is spoken in English and Thai, with Japanese subtitles
It's directed by Kazuya Konaka, who also directed Astro Boy 2003 and some Heisei era Ultraman
Black Jack (Daisuke Ryu) gets hurt a Lot. He goes through it fr
Kiriko (Masao Kusakari) gets drunk in a hut, emits chaotic energy
Our leading lady is named Megumi Shimizu (清水恵). Forename's a clear reference to Dr. Kisaragi, surname's a reference to Kiyomi Shimizu from the chapter Downpour.
Pinoko, who unfortunately doesn't do much, spends a lot her time with Kiriko, which is rare
Check it out! I ripped this for the people :)

Hi, Musashi! Hey, Izou! How’s your day been going?
You approached the cocktail table that the samurai were standing by as the two were heavily engaged in a conversation that seemed half-pleasant and half-argumentative.
At the mention of 'Musashi', IZOU snorted.
IZOU: "…Musashi, they say. Yeaaah, right."
Your Saber narrowed her eyes before she leaned against the table, smirking.
MUSASHI: "Ehhh? What does that mean? I can't be Musashi?"
They were already both slurring their words, and judging from the state of the near-empty bottle that was resting at the table, and the state of their cups, they had been going at it for a while before you got over there. IZOU shrugged, taking another deep swig from his cup.
IZOU: "No shit, you can't be Musashi. Look at you."
He gestured broadly to… all of her- then stopped- and then gestured specifically at her chest as MUSASHI reached across the table to bat his hand away.
IZOU: "Just because you know the Niten Ichi-ryu doesn't make you 'Musashi', and anyone with half a brain knows the difference between a beautiful woman and a dusty old man. If you're Musashi then I'm… I'm, uh… uhm…"
MUSASHI: "Do it. Name a woman."
He snapped his fingers as he thought, as MUSASHI reached across the table to snap her own fingers in his face, prompting him to slap her hand away.
IZOU: "Gimme a sec! Uh… Murasaki Shikibu!"
MUSASHI: "Oooh, fancy. Write me somethin', 'Murasaki'."
He cleared his throat, leaning against a table. You saw him clothes his eyes, brow twitching in a semi-inebriated focus as he quietly counted on his fingers, before starting.
IZOU: "…Musashi, she says? I think with my warm sake. Musashi, my ass."
There was a loud laugh and thunderous applause from MUSASHI.
MUSASHI: "Yaaaay! Encore, encore! Maybe you are Lady Murasaki, Assassin!"
IZOU: "Impressive, ain't it? That one just came right off'a the dome."
They started laughing again, and re-filled their cups before clinking them together.
They seemed like they were having fun.

[main post about the Rider AU] [the tag tho]
Rider AU's main cast [2/8] - Ken
Yeah, I'M LATE?! Had this getting dust in my folder... Well, here we go.
I'll not make promises about the rest getting finished that quickly (I'm working on more stuff at the same time)
Ken in this AU has a small ponytail (because I always wanted to see Ken in a ponytail, but I'm pretty fine with the canon short-haired Ken thanks to it having some Terui Ryu's vibes) but his personality is still the same as canon: he’s kind and polite BUT because he want to, and if you mess with his beloved ones he might become totally sarcastic, salty and hostile towards you.
Daisuke befriended him in the first year of college, but Daisuke quit quickly in order to pursue the ramen business thing. Ken didn’t have many friends at college back in time so he just wanted to keep tagging along with Daisuke. While he’s studying psychology, he hid a secret from everyone which was… He’s a famous gaming Digituber called ‘The Kaiser’.
No one connected the dots about the courteous Ken with the famous gamer who would simply get SUPER COMPETITIVE and FERAL in online competitions and esports events nicknamed Kaiser. The only person who might know this secret is his girlfriend who’s an excellent technician-bar-hacker who manages his accounts (so Ken can have time to be his real-self too) – Miyako. But Later, Miyako and Ken are acquainted with a young boy named Iori, who’s pretty good at taking the hints and then decide to help them out with his own abilities (no he’s not like a hacker, but he got the skill to help cover traces and find clues to stuff)
Ken also met Rui casually and not related to Daisuke at all – at the cafe shop Infinity, where Rui works at. The day they first met, Ken witnessed a digimon running away from some people in the lab getup trying to catch a hornworm digimon called “Wormmon”. The digimon ran into Ken’s way and begged to help him to escape. And Ken, who was a good boy who wouldn’t refuse to help someone in need, took the digimon inside the first shop near them. Which was Infinity Cafe Shop, after all.
At first Rui felt confused about why would someone just take a digimon inside a shop out of the blue, but since it was one of those days with low customers and he was… Alone at the moment, he decided to keep his mouth shut.
Wormmon explained to both of those two young adults that those people with scary costumes were trying to capture him and insert something terrible on him. Ken and Rui raise eyebrows and look at each other, as if they were asking each other what to do. They are asked by Wormmon to protect him and both boys just agree with it. Since then Ken and Wormmon drop by to talk with Rui.
And then, on a random day, Ken meets Daisuke again at the same cafe shop and learns that Rui is Daisuke’s childhood friend. Wormmon is still kept as a secret from Daisuke and everyone else, but hey. They don’t need to worry too much about it now, right?
Meanwhile, as the celeb Kaiser, Ken gets in touch with a person named WriterOfHope91 (privately btw) who claims to be from the same college as Ken. He tells Miyako about it and then they start planning what to do. Turns out the person was Takeru, who’s from another course from the same college and had been friends-and-neighbors with Miyako and Iori. While Ken didn’t want his secret to be leaked, he tells Takeru to keep his mouth shut about this. Takeru agrees, and says he didn’t want to do anything bad. The reason he contacted Ken was because his friend Hikari witnessed him getting inside a shop with a digimon in hands. And it was when Ken told Miyako and Iori about Wormmon for the first time.
BUT THE PROBLEMS DON’T END HERE!! The Kaiser is associated with an agency, the 7DM Entertainment —- Which suspiciously has a woman called Layla as its CEO.
Just like Rui, Ken does not know Daisuke is a Kamen Rider recently. But he does know Kamen Rider Lightnimon to some extent via the digimon, and he wants to uncover all the mysteries surrounding the mysterious hero and the cases around Tokyo, as some kind of detective.
(Which would make him want to pursue a career in investigations later)

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name
This article will discuss spoilers for Yakuza 6
Before we talk about Gaiden, we need to establish that Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio went under some changes after the last main game entry. Studio and series founder Toshihiro Nagoshi had a title change in January 2021, and then left a month after Lost Judgment released with series director Daisuke Sato to form a new studio at NetEase. Another big shake-up this would lead to is the main series writer Masayoshi Yokoyama taking the reins of the studio, meaning the guy in charge of scripts and story direction now had a lot more responsibilities. All of that might explain the weird place the modern series has found itself in.
Gaiden was announced alongside Infinite Wealth and the Ishin remake, all released within the span of a year. That is, frankly, insane. Hearing that they apparently finished the dev cycle on this one in six months on the tail end of Infinite Wealth‘s development also helps explain a lot about this smaller scale entry for the series. An experiment in creating a more compact Like A Dragon that was somewhere between a Kaito Files style DLC and a full release, Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is a curious beast that it a bit troubling as a possible blueprint for future smaller releases from RGG, but a surprisingly solid entry in its own right – even if it is still as padded out as most major releases.

hi you're the biggest ossan fucker I know of and I've been curious
has there ever been a time you didn't like an ossan character? do you like all ossan characters by virtue of them being old men?
are there things that make even old men characters unlikable to you? if so like what are some old men characters that made you go "this isn't doing anything for me 😐"
do you watch/read/play new things mainly to find new ossan to enjoy or do you just enjoy the ossan that come along with the media that you're already interested in?
do you have a favorite/best ossans of all time list?
are all your favorite characters old men?
I won't mind if you don't feel like answering. thx for being interesting on my dash!
thank u for enjoying me being on ur dash *salute*
sometimes i just come across things that have an ossan in there other times i specifically seek things out that have an ossan in them
n yea there's been plenty i don't like
normally when a dude is unlikable to me it's for one or more of 3 reasons
he's too much of an asshole n doesn't have parts of his personality i like
he's annoying
i don't like his design
ex of 1: multiple ryu ga gotoku antagonists
ex of 2: that one dude they added into tristamp. i forget his name
ex of 3: some of the guys from eternal boys bc outside of sanada n daisuke they just look like. boys (lol)
some of my favs who aren't old men:
kafka hibino (he's an honorary one but he's only 32 lol)
jiro yamashita (again. i count him n he calls himself old but he's only 30 he just has an old soul)
shinano, atou n reiji from cell of empireo (they're all in their 20s)
aikawa n kaiman dorohedoro (they're 28)
klaus von reinherz from kkss (he's 28)
kabane from kemono jihen
satori komeiji n flandre scarlet from touhou
jojo part 4 josuke n okuyasu
lain
i don't have a list of the best geezers but Do know that kaburagi t. kotetsu is high up there if not #1

No Context Tag Game
Rules: Post a snippet with no context--easy!
Well @that-cyber-writer didn't tag me but left an open tag. So, since I haven't been tagged in awhile. I am gonna do it.
Among them, only her twin brother Akai and his two best friends—Daisuke and Haruki—didn’t run off, their sheepish smiles tinged with guilt. Apologies flowed from his friends, who rushed off back to the fields to work. As they passed by, the familiar scent of earth mixed with the late summer air, a nostalgic aroma more than anything else, almost tinged with the sweetness of the wild berry bushes that lingered on the edge of the village.
Their families, hard at work with kama in hand, stole glances at the trio’s late return. Kyu knew full well the weight of disapproving gazes which hung in the air, and on her narrow shoulders like a boulder. Which was why she stepped up to the tall young man, over two heads taller, yet the smaller teen showed no fear. Stood as broad as oxen, maybe even stronger than one. Smarter than one would expect, perhaps too smart for his own good—Kyu had that notion many times over the years about her twin.
“You didn’t finish your chores for the day. Why are you out there?” Kyu asked, arms crossed over her torso. “I will not suffer for your foolishness.”
Akai grunted in reply to his sister, shoulders slumped after a moment. “It’s always training, training, training. We have no fun. No nothing.”
Kyu scoffed, turned and walked toward the large hill that their ryu sat upon. “We are lucky for our lot,” she said. “Come on now. Don’t be a child.”
He didn’t protest, but his steps stomped alongside the muddy trail, each one exaggerated, like a petulant child’s stomps. Each footfall on the hard ground seemed to echo in Kyu’s ears, who shot him a piercing look, a mix of anger and disappointment clear in her eyes. With the heavy weight of her gaze, it spoke volumes about his sister’s anger, rendered words unnecessary. As he straightened himself to his full height, a heavy sigh escaped Akai’s lips. His breath carried a hint of resignation. There came a sudden determination which filled the air as they made their way towards their school and dojo. Akai’s demeanor shifted, his face adopted a more stoic expression, as if he had aged in a matter of moments. Finally, he headed off towards the kitchen, in a small outhouse next to the main buildings, left behind a lingering aura of persistence and resolve.
I will be tagging @veradragonjedi(as always lol) @csdarkfantasy @blind-the-winds @indecentpause @conkers-thecosy and an open tag for all!
