guys we have a problem i wanna kms (les gars on a un probleme (français après la coupure)

So, I do like 2h of pointe shoes a week in class, plus sometimes I just train in my room or at the studio. I paid €140 for the pair I currently have, which -I know- is not super expensive for pointe shoes but super expensive for me as my first pair (3 years ago) was only like €70 and even my teachers are telling me they never paid €140 for pointe shoes.

they have super 'technology' inside, basically you can change the shank so like if your shank dies you can just buy a new shank for like €20, but like if the box dies it's completely dead, you're done with it.

I already changed both shanks twice, but in my Friday class, I realized...

THEY ARE TOO SMALL THEY DONT FIT ANYMORE

the thing is 1) I don't have money to buy new ones and 2) even if I had, they don't make bigger ones, meaning I have to go back the the pointe shoes I break in two classes and that are still to expensive for me

so guess i'm just gonna spend the two last months before my gala with those dead shoes and I'll buy new ones for my b-day in November as we usually don't do pointe classes until December so I should be fine but MY POOR FEET UGH

So just an advice if you think you wanna do pointe: you actually don't want.

donc je fais 2h de pointes par semaine environ, plus quand je m'entraine chez moi ou au studio. j'ai payé 140 balles pour la paire que j'ai actuellement et même si pour certain c'est pas cher du tout, pour moi ça l'est, compte tenu du fait que ma première paire (il y a trois ans) m'avais couté 70€ et que même mes profs me disent qu'elles ont jamais payé 140€ pour une paire de pointes.

le truc c'est qu'elles ont une "technologie" dedans et en gros quand ta semelle meurt tu peux juste en mettre une autre, donc ta semelle ne meurt jamais réellement, tu en rachètes juste une pour 20 balles. par contre si la boite pète, c'est ciao.

j'ai déjà changé les semelles deux fois chacune, mais vendredi j'ai réalisé...

ELLES SONT DEVENUES TROP PETITES ELLES SONT PLUS A MA TAILLE

le problème c'est que de 1) j'ai pas les sous pour m'en racheté et de 2) même si j'avais les sous, elles existent pas en plus grand, donc je devrais repasser à celles qui coutent -certes- moins cher (90€) mais que je pète en deux cours et qui sont toujours trop cher pour moi

donc bah je vais finir l'année avec des pointes trop petites mais c'est pas grave MES PAUVRES PIEDS n'empêche.

Je m'en racheterait ptet en novembre pour mon anniv mais en attendant bah la mort.

donc un conseil si vous pensez vouloir commencer les pointes : en réalité, vous ne voulez pas.

Sometimes I have a really cool idea for an AU but then I realise I know nothing about the Jobs/ World I'd put these characters in and don't really have an interest for it either. It would just be cool. But it would be. So. Much. Research.

Like, yeah, a Restaurant AU would be great - What do you mean I have to look up food words in English? Techniques??? How kitchens work???

If I have an interest in the thing this is the best part - ballet AU, victorian AU etc. I love research for things I care about.

But the mob? How football leagues work? Art history??? The music industry??

I'll leave it to other Authors I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️
