Thinking about how the actual red and blue trope would be Aang and Zuko because clothes can 100% be changed but Aang and Zuko have something permanent : Zuko's scar and Aang's tattoos. Even in the show itself, if you look at firebending master's episode you will notice that the red dragon zuko dances with symbolises his scar and the blue dragon Aang dances with symbolises his tattoos.
Just saying 🤭🤭
Vermillion Seas Cardinal Skies: Chapter 18 - Reuniting
Well, hello! Been a few weeks. Helping my girlfriend move from one state in the South to one in the North has completely monopolized all of my time - which means this chapter is the last one I have fully pre-written and ready for posting. BUT FEAR NOT! I have quite a few hours plane-bound coming up this weekend - which means plenty of hours of uninterrupted writing.
With all that said, I need to give one of the biggest shoutouts ever to @achillmango. She flexed her editing muscle on this chapter and really brought it to where it needed to be. You're the best!
No summary today - it would spoil too much ;)
Now then, I present to you, Chapter 18 - Reuniting.
A deep breath. The heat of morning’s first light bathes him in its splendid glory. Tickling rays of sunshine dance atop the crown of his head and flow down his face. Its *unjudging* rays embrace even the scar that marks him. He smiles as it fills him with warmth.
A breath releases. The energy departs, save but a lingering spark. His brow furrows gently, channeling his focus to hold onto that lingering greater power.
His eyes open. It's gone, and only the gifted spark remains. Zuko stands and snaps his fingers. The tiny spark dances at his fingertips. It’s the key to whatever lies ahead, the key to his restoration. He blinks his eyes against the bright morning light and squints at the tiny flame atop his thumb. Is it…? No. It couldn’t be. He shakes his head. He’s seeing things, the flame isn’t flickering from one color to another. He’s never seen anyone wield fire like that, it’s impossible.
He extinguishes the tiny flame and finishes his morning meditation uninterrupted. The smile returns to his face as familiar heat fills his body, though he knows it will disappear again the moment his focus wavers.
“Are you ready?" Aang’s voice quietly questions from behind him.
Jiyan, leader of the Midnight Rangers, acts with swift and resolute righteousness. He possesses the formidable ability to conjure a powerful Qingloong from the winds, making him invincible on the battlefield.
on this tully tuesday, fuck you ryan condal, i see what you're doing. merging kermit and oscar tully and killing off their dad elmo without even naming him, you're trying to hide the muppet-naming pattern by only including the more mundane names. people may have heard of the name grover elsewhere like nonconsective us president grover cleveland, and certainly would with oscar like oscar mayar, the baloney/weiner man, but if you hear the names elmo and/or kermit you're thinking muppets right away. smdh, if you can embrace the gothic horror of harrenhal, you should be able to embrace the whimsy of grrm naming his dance-era tullys after sesame street muppets.
