aah!! i love your ideas for the rest of the su gems, (its me, the anon who asked!!) they're so cool and they make me feel so??? yes?? i understand your struggle with assigning characters in crossovers too, so may i offer up blaze for bismuth? its a tight fit but it mayyy work..he strikes me as more of the righteous yet brash type, so it may fit bismuth. i also agree with jasper nicole and i'd love to hear more about her and dante!!

i'm glad you like my ideas so far!! i'm not too sure about blaze being bismuth but i'm not aversed to it either. i think ill go over some different options for him and see what i land on.

even though it was only the last part of your message this entire reply will be about nicole and dante. you gave me an opportunity to talk about my favorite characters and i'm running with it.

unfortunately, nicole is the only one who fits as jasper which hurts me as a dancole shipper. however since i adore nicole and jasper is my favorite su character i kindof win here! besides, the only other character dante has a negative relationship with is gene and for obvious reasons that's not going to work!

(as i'm writing this i'm realizing i could probably write gene as bismuth? to mirror their relationship in mcd, dante had attempted to out gene as apart of the rebellion and gene, panicked, decided to poof him. homeworld mistook dante as apart of the chrystal gems and then imprisoned him within the magical mirror.)

(then again gene and bismuth are such fundamentally different characters i feel like slotting him in for that reason alone would be lame lmao)

i quickly doodled this to give you an idea but i'm reaaaaallly excited to properly design nicole. one aspect about jasper's character i find interesting is that she feels like a failure for coming from the beta kindergarten and being associated with rose quartz, so i thought it'd be interesting if nicole hid her gem!

... which wouldn't work since jasper's gem is on her nose but i'm considering changing gem placements so rather than appearing anywhere they'd align with the diamond that created them. in this case, nicole's gem would be on her stomach.

right now i'm considering nicole in a more military-esque admiral look and she slowly loses layers throughout her downfall. first shedding the coat during her fight with garnet and then her underclothes becoming tattered because of her corruption. i'm also thinking about giving her a tight braid that becomes loose, leaving her hair wild like the original jasper is.

i know once i figured out nicole's design i'll redraw a few scenes from su. i'm torn between the initial fusion dance and the boat proposal scene because both drive me insane...!

1st variant of Minecraft Diaries x QSMP crossover.

qMariana is Aphmau, Juanaflippa is Levin and qCharlie is Laurance

Mariana just kinda appeared outta nowhere and Juanita got left at his door and as the Lord of the Quesadilla Village he just fuckin' had to keep her until he found her mother

on said adventure he meets this very pretty guy who for reason has really long green hair and pieces of slime on him like HUH? AND HE'S FLIRTING WITH HIM?? AND HE COMES OVER TO VOUCH FOR HIS INNOCENCE ALONG WITH HIS OWN KNIGHT FOOLISH?

okay and now he has a fucking Wyvern and offered to give him a ride? fuck yesss, but honestly even if he wants to jump this man's bones like every other bitch but he has a kid to take care of! and a village! also Foolish is kinda hot and Charlie is a knight for another village

Mariana just looks like his normal self, some people question the outfit but he doesn't really know either

Charlie's outfit is exactly like Laurance's, but his hair is Green because his childhood friend, aka. Wilbur Soot, and who he considers his brother, dyed his hair and disappeared before he could change it back

Charlie ended up having to take care of Tallulah, Wilbur's daughter. Phil, the new Lord of Meteli also takes care of her and his other son, Chayanne. Missa is his guard.

Quackity takes Sasha's role, having died and turning into a Shadow Knight. Tilín disappeared after his death and Charlie is still working on trying to find them.

when Mariana goes to save the Chicken Shaman, aka. Maximus, Charlie sacrifices himself to save them, hoping for Maximus to turn Wilbur back to himself

he gets raptured and turned into a Shadow Knight, where he sees Quackity as Sasha, Luzu as Gene and someone else (i have yet to figure out who should be Vylad. )

Mariana is honestly fucking devastated that Charlie is in the Nether with no help and no way to come back, until he sees him while on a trip with Juanita. Charlie wanted to reach out to Mariana and hug him and kiss him, but he couldn't. the rage imbued in him by the Shadow Lord making it also impossible from pulling out his sword and gutting Mariana, the last Lord he served. but seeing little Juana there, staring at him with big bright eyes and a smile, reminded him of Tilín and Tallulah. it broke his heart and he fled, afraid of hurting the poor child.

when Mariana later finds Charlie, blind, hurt and nearly on death's door with the wyvern, Cucurucho (yes Cucurucho bc qCharlie's interactions with it are funny and adorable and sad) suddenly turned dark and disappearing

Wilbur, now turned normal thanks to the combined efforts of Vegetta (Zoey) and Cellbit (Kawaii-Chan), came to visit and Mariana left to give them space, but thennnnnnn

the High Priest, Rubius, is outside his tattered house which was blown up by Leo (Zenix) while he was on his adventure for the mother of Juanita. threatening Charlie

yaddi yaddi yada, story goes as normal y'know, except arguments and love between Charlie and Mariana and jealousy with Charlie over Foolish and Mariana

now misc facts about this version of this AU go! -> Charlie is a slime elemental and human hybrid. Mariana is still Lady Irene and i guess a reincarnation? Aaron doesn't exist in this version. Tilín takes Malachi's role, having died and become a ghost with the same fear powers, but Charlie takes them in instead of Mariana. Roier is Dante. Donna and Logan are Forever and Bad respectively. Jaiden is Kiki, and Fit is Brendan. Emmalyn's role is taken up by Baghera. Lucinda is Etoiles and Nicole is Melissa. yes. no, it doesn't make sense. yes, i know.

Charlie, instead of being greedy and mean, is very friendly and weird and quite diabolical, a slime hybrid. when he gets turned into a werewolf, it messes with his slime and instead transforms him into and eldritch mix of werewolf, slime and demon with too many limbs, too many eyes and teeth and claws, too much fur and goop and,,,, tentacles? goo goobie bitches

Mariana is a nurse who got moved into the "Babe House", and after seeing the hot buff merchant, he's very much into it and wants to become a sugar baby, but instead falls in love and gets married. mission failed successfully?

their relationship is very much playfighting and joke arguments that seem a bit too real for others. they are madly in love and have done el sexo de grande multiple times. even with Charlie in monster form. Charlie gets ruts btw– *gets shot*

when they get kidnapped, Charlie fights tooth and nail to keep Mariana safe, at the expense of his health. he's near death when rescued by the Lord, and frantic in going back to Mariana

Flippa, the lone survivor of the murder of her tribe, later found by Charlie, instead of the Lord of his village. he takes her in and treats her just like he would his own biological daughter

then when he sees Mariana again, reencuentro el sexo de grande

when they go back home, Charlie goes back to his job and dotes on his brand new daughter and his bitch wife like no other, it's sickening how much he adores his family

and during the war, Charlie stays behind to fight, wreaking havoc against his opponents. and during the 15 year time-skip, he waits for Mariana patiently, sitting at the docks like dog waiting for its owner. when he comes back with Flippa, Charlie almost tackles them into the ocean with how happy he was, crying with Flippa about missing each other and kissing Mariana breathless

the Backflippo family is one of the few who stayed at the village. Charlie is one of the few people who are capable of fighting off the bandits easily, along with the help of Juanaflippa, but he has to he away to keep getting more resources and food to keep everything ok and running

Mariana starts a garden at the wish of Juanita, giving them to Charlie to sell and Juana to make crowns of and press them. he farms as well and makes sure everyone stays healthy, rasing Juanita while Charlie is off doing business and exchanging letters with him almost every single day, sending them talking about their days and how they're doing while away

they're so in love your honor

Juana is very hyper and very energetic, practically hounding Charlie to play and teach her how to be a werewolf every time he's home. whenever that happens Mariana takes a big big nap and enjoys whatever gift Charlie brought back

my indecisive ass has a problem with something so I'm working on (mcd obviously) Dante x Nana x Nicole (idk the ship name) right? and I come to appearances first I'm like 'oh this is easy!' since I got their designs in my head already, but then this is where my indecisiveness comes in: Their heights. The thing is, I have chosen three heights I want for them: 7'1" (don't ask), 6'-something, and 5'7, bc like I want a tall, medium, and short poly bc I think its a silly idea my only problem? who should have what height??? bc like I'm thinking it'd be funny for Nicole to be the tallest, nana to be the one in between, and Dante the shortest. But them I'm also like it'd be funny if Nana was the shortest, then Nicole, then Dante. But it'd also be funny for it to be Nana the tallest, then Dante, then Nicole. idk which one to pick bc I find them all funny

Travis and Dante stream via a shared account. Travis mainly streams stuff like “rating my viewers most embarrassing moments” and Dante mostly streams him playing video games. Pronouns: Travis uses they/them and he/him. Dante uses he/him.

Gene, Zenix, and Sasha are all gaming streamers. Gene streams low-energy games, Zenix streams FPS games, and Sasha streams indie horror games. The three do have band and do band stuff on the side. Pronouns: Gene uses mirror pronouns. Zenix uses it/its, he/him, and death-related neopronouns like for example rot/rotself & death/deathself. Sasha uses dolls/dollself, she/her, and it/its (order of pref)

Vylad’s a completely mysterious streamer- faceless and no one knows about their personal life. They mostly stream playing Geoguesser and indie sandbox games. Vylad uses any pronouns.

Nana’s a completely faceless streamer/v-tuber. She typically does Just Chatting streams but occasional she’ll stream her drawing or playing games like PlateUp. Nana uses any pronouns (defaults to she/her when she’s talking about herself)

Aaron’s also a completely faceless streamer and after meeting Nana, eventually gets hooked up with a v-tuber of his own. He typically streams MMORPGs. Aaron uses he/him pronouns but occasionally feels urge to use any pronouns.

Aphmau’s a Variety streams who mostly streams MMORPGs and does writing streams. Aphmau uses she/her pronouns but doesn’t mind they/them.

Katelyn started out as someone who did live self-defense lessons, but ended up becoming someone who would stream the plays she wrote and would cast fellow streamers as roles in said plays. Katelyn uses she/her and he/him pronouns

Zane is a faceless streamer (but in a Ranboo way) and void typically does My Little Pony Horsey unboxing streams. Zane uses void/voidself pronouns.

Garroth is a Just Chatting streamer, typically talking about fashion and makeup and the like. Garroth uses she/her and he/him pronouns (order of pref), but she hasn’t added she/her to her twitter bio yet.

Laurance is a gaming streamer who mainly streams older, console games. Laurance uses he/him pronouns.

01. how were you first introduced to aphmau?

My first introduction to Aphmau was (unfortunately), from her appearing in someone else's video, probably a Do Not Laugh.

02. favorite main character, side-character, ship, and villain?

I'm going to go with Minecraft Diaries for most of my answers bc that's the series I'm really fixated on. Favorite MC is Laurance, favorite side character is Castor, favorite ship is Laurance X Table, and my favorite villain is Zane (there's literally no competition he's better than everyone else)

03. which characters do you think deserve better? which characters do you think deserve less?

Laurance deserves SO MUCH BETTER! Also My Street Blaze deserves better, both of my boys were done absolutely dirty. I know this is popular opinion, but Aaron deserves less. He frequently got in the way of other characters arcs because he got so much focus in both series.

04. what are your favorite episodes/scenes?

I don't remember episodes very well, but the scene of Laurance confessing after he gets out of the Nether is permanently burned into my memory. Shortly followed by the entire scene at the end of Season 1 in the Irene Dimension, that whole sequence was just *chefs kiss*

05. favorite minor character? like barely a fraction of the fandom acknowledges them but you adore them?

I will forever die on the hill of Katelyn's brother Kasey being an absolute sweetheart who deserves the entire world. He has maybe 20 minutes of screen time in total and I would end reality for him.

06. what are your favorite and least favorite skins?

Ooh, I'm a really big fan of Nicole's skin, especially after the time skip in season 2. I think my least favorite is probably most of Aphmau's skins where she isn't wearing a dress. Her outfits just are not it.

07. best dynamic in the series? like, whenever these characters are onscreen your brain just explodes?

Me literally anytime Vincent and Laurance are on screen together. I seriously would watch an entire series of Vincent and Laurance talking about Shadow Knight stuff, love, Cadenza, Meteli, whatever they want to talk about, I want to hear it.

08. alternatively, what's a dynamic you really want to see in canon?

I'm kind of upset by the lack of friendly rivalries in the series. There was some of it in Phoenix Drop High, but I feel like most rivals in the series take themselves too seriously. I just want Blaze and Aaron to have a very goofy friendly rivalry where Blaze keeps trying to "overthrow him" and they just get into wrestling matches together.

09. personal bias aside, who do you think is the best written character and why? 

This is a hard question to answer because they're all written badly at some point or another, but I think Dante is the most consistent. Like I can't think of a scene where Dante does something and I went "Dante would never do that", which I can't say for most characters.

10. what is your ideal ending for the series?

For Minecraft Diaries, it's either the tragedy ending where Shad wins and takes over the entire overworld and everyone gets turned into shadow knights, or Laurance's rebellion actually works and he's able to successfully quell the calling and go back to the life he deserves to have with Garroth. For My Street it's ending with Season 2 because My Street peaked at Season 2, I don't know why they bothered to make more of it. (Season 3 is fine I just really like Season 2 agsgfhfh)

11. do you have a rewrite, character reinterpretations/redesigns, or any aus? if so, is there anything you'd like to talk about or snippets you want to share? 

Hooo boy do I! It's not that big of a deal, it's only OVER 300k WORDS (which is double the length of the fucking Iliad). The main idea is essentially me writing Minecraft Diaries but I inserted a single OC just to see how much she would shake up the series and oh my Irene does she shake up the series. My favorite thing she does is that she's a catfolk that's from Tu'la, so Tu'la, Mephina, and the lore around those subjects gets focus from early on in the story instead of showing up out of nowhere in Season 2 with little consequence.

I keep wanting to share this story but I'm still very bad and awkward about sharing OC stuff so like... I don't. (Please tell me if you would be into reading bits of it I need validation)

12. which roleplay, excluding minecraft diaries and mystreet, is your favorite? (my inner demons, mod mod world, meteora valley, etc.)

Definitely My Inner Demons. It's a bunch of silly self-indulgent nonsense that's incredibly padded and infuriates me sometimes, but Leif is one of the best characters to ever exist and MID is better than almost everything Aphmau has written for that reason alone.

13. have your sentiments towards any characters/ships changed over time? (for instance, you didn't care for them at all but now you're obsessed with them, or you used to love them but it's faded over time.)

I remember really liking Aarmau as a kid, but my mood on that ship has definitely soured over time. However, my love for Garrance and literally any other gay ship in this series has only grown. Shout out to the ship of Nana and Katelyn, I literally adore it so much.

14. if you could choose an opening and ending theme for the series, what would it be?

Uhm... I don't actually know. Like, I'm tempted to say Faster Car really was the perfect intro for My Street, especially in Season 2 (the best season), and MCD shouldn't really have an intro if you ask me. As for ending themes, always the classic Call Me Baby by HeatlyBros, that ending just holds such a vibe that I can't really explain but it captures the sound of Aphmau series very well.

15. alternatively, if you could choose a theme song/ost for your favorite character, what would it be?

MCD Laurance is literally Curses by The Crane Wives, followed shortly by The Moon Will Sing also by The Crane Wives.

16. favorite blogs, artists, and writers?

Ashdgfdf I've been here for like a week and a half and I don't know anyone's names I just think everyone here is neat. Shout out to @laurencezvahlslefteyebrow though, their Laurance's Choice rewrite hurt me.

17. any headcanons you're attached to?

In an aphverse server I'm in we discussed the headcanon of Shadow Knights having doll like qualities to them (like Gene having a cracked porcelain doll face, or Laurance sometimes acting like a lifeless doll when he spaces out for too long) and literally every time I think about that headcanon I make it progressively worse in the best way possible. I'll probably make a full post about it at some point because it's living in my head rent free.

18. is there anything about the fandom you dislike?

A lot of my issues with the fandom is just lingering trauma from those truly feral early days when I was active back in the mid to late twenty tens. Nowadays I think my only complaint is that I don't see enough Blaze content. We need more Blaze content.

19. which character would you like to cosplay as?

Travis probably. Either that or Blaze.

20. you can only change one plotline in the entire canon—what would it be and how would you alter it?

I would completely alter how Aaron was handled in Diaries. I truly think he had so much potential, but his character got boiled down to just being Aph's love interest. I would have him have more interactions with characters that aren't Aph, showing new fascets of his personality, such as seeing him give advice to Cadenza about being a young Lord, or training Travis in combat and lecturing him about how to properly utilize his different strengths and weaknesses, showing how observant and calculated Aaron is.

And also I would completely rewrite Season 2 Episode 95 (which I've done twice now)

21. have you ever had a crush on any of the characters? (and do you still have one?)

...I've had... A few... (looks at like literally almost the entire cast of MCD and MID) But I have totally moved on from all of those and I definitely don't daydream about any of them, especially Laurance or Blaze anymore. I am. Normal.

22. who's the character that you most identify with and why?

Blaze because I too am a pansexual, polyamorous, head-empty stoner who really likes Garroth's thighs and thinks Dottie is cute.

23. you get to design an official aphmau game! assuming money or time wasn't an issue, what would that look like? (for example, a visual novel, TTRPG, fighting game, etc.)

I would LOVE to make an MCD themed TTRPG!! Like, I might actually make one where you can drop any of your characters into a sandbox-ish version of the world and get to explore Ru'aun and the lore of the Relics, or the political warfare of the world, or maybe you just commit war crimes idk. I just think it'd be fun.

24. if you could design your own line of merch, assuming money or time wasn't an issue, what would you choose?

An entire line of plushies of the characters in a similar vibe to what Youtooz plushies look like. Variations for characters who exist in both universes, and if they're a Shadow Knight, Relic holder, demon or have any other alternate forms they also get plushies of these forms. Imagine a little chibi angry SK Laurance I would literally cry

25. aphmau got a cafe collaboration! what food/drink do you think your favorite characters would be?

Blaze is like a very caffeinated energy drink that doesn't look like it should be real, Garroth is a very classic kind of iced latte with the faint taste of lavender, Laurance is a sugary coffee drink that tastes like you melted vanilla ice cream into a hot cup of coffee, Travis is also a brightly colored energy drink but specifically like a frozen slushie version of said drink.

26. you're tasked with writing an official side story/spin-off roleplay (like void paradox, mermaid tale, upside-down story, etc), what would that look like?

My Street but instead of giving it a plot related to Diaries, it's really just a goofy slice of life series and each mini-arc focuses on different characters living their lives from their perspective, probably starting around Season 3. Just My Street but it doesn't take itself seriously and also everyone is gay.

27. what's something really interesting that you wished canon decided to explore more? alternatively, what's something interesting that you wished the fandom acknowledged more?

I really wish that Diaries focused more on the agony of relic holders and how it effects their lives in different ways. Like, where's the existential crisis because you're starting to lose your sense of self as you bond with the relic and become more and more like its previous holder instead of yourself? As for the fandom, I wish we acknowledged Blaze more.

28. if you could ask jess one question about the series and receive a direct answer, what would it be? 

What the actual fuck were you thinking while writing, recording, editing, and publishing Minecraft Diaries Season 2 Episode 95?
