as much as i enjoy the more wholesome fantasy high parents like jawbone and sklonda and the thistlesprings there’s something so compelling and achingly real about bill seacaster that makes him my favorite. he and fabian have a relationship that is so deeply unhealthy and entrenched in distorted ways of viewing other people and parenthood and the world, and yet is so fiercely and undeniably loving. like, is bill seacaster a good dad? what does being a good dad even mean for someone like bill? bill seacaster has such unrealistic and toxic expectations of fabian and a myopic, entirely self-centered way of relating to him for most of his life, and yet, you truly get the sense that even if fabian disappoints him again and again and never steps out of his shadow and never becomes the man bill wants him to be, bill will never love him any less than completely and unconditionally. bill seacaster is a man who has built his entire life and sense of identity around doing whatever he wants and never facing consequences and never thinking about anyone else. bill seacaster becomes disappointed in his son. and he finds the idea of that so unacceptable that, instead of demanding that fabian meet his expectations, bill loves him so much that he reconsiders his entire concept of himself and the purpose of his life, and he grows. a man whose legacy and identity was based around selfishness and narcissism and unwillingness to bend, and fabian makes him change.

No but in another life where Jace isn’t too far gone, he and so many other coworkers coulda vibed. Henry would tell Jace that he can do anything he puts his mind to and helps Jace sign up for community college or take night classes on the side to take a level of Wizard. I love Porter’s nasty awful ass, but Jace deserved better company and better relationships with his other coworkers that wouldn’t have killed him.

Like Tiberia would hate his ass but if he asked and put in the work she’d maybe help him learn the basics. He could go get drinks with Corsica, meditate and practice mindfulness with Yolanda, etc. like the possibilities were endless. I don’t mind him being dead and he doesn’t have to be reformed, but in death I image he regrets trying so hard to build a bridge between Porter and himself.

I’m 100% attached to Jace now and he’s sooo tragic to me in a Kendall!Sucession type of way. Like the only thing in his way was himself and he pursued the wrong thing and got nothing to show for it.

Porter gets revived to participate bc it would be his personal hell but is absolutely not allowed to teach at Aguefort anymore on account of the grooming students to be his worker bees. Maybe he’s sent to work in the compass points where Ayda and Aelwyn could destroy his ass at a moments notice. Maybe over time he’ll pick up a book or two on pirate friendship and send Jace an orange idk. Is this anything?

I’m gonna be really honest. I don’t like Homelander. I never have and I never will. He creeps me out. I got curious and checked the tag because I was honestly surprised he had fans. I’m not proud that my intentions were less than charitable considering what I was expecting to find.

I gotta apologize cause y’all are mad chill. There’s a shocking amount of talent for a relatively small fanbase. I’ve been reading your stuff and it’s great and you definitely make him into a more enjoyable character. Still not my vibe but I can respect it.

I see y’all get hate sometimes and I won’t lie I used to be a hater myself. But honestly just keep doing your thing and I’ll give a thumbs up from the distance.

I appreciate that you went into it with sour feelings but still kept your mind open to what you were seeing. I know Homelander isn't going to be everyone's cuppa tea, and no one is asking for that. I feel the same way about all kinds of things in the fandom, but I respect it nonetheless because in the end we're all fans of the same thing. we're all people, and we all deserve to be treated with kindness and respect, if not at the very least indifference.

My delusional arse, as a writer: this man is an affection-starved, closeted gay man who has convinced himself that the only way he can be respected is by wearing the Thalmor uniform and the only way he can protect himself is by seeking power.

He probably only joined the Thalmor because he wanted to be seen as intimidating and not to be messed with (i.e, he wanted people to leave him the fuck alone), and because it would give him an excuse, a ‘beard’ if you like - because the Thalmor are very particular about reproduction, it makes sense he’d use it as a cover.

Even the Thalmor don’t like him (probably because they suspect him, or at the very least feel like something’s ‘off’) because they sent his colleague to Markarth with backup, and yet sent him to Winterhold alone. He’s also not at Elenwen’s party.

He gets nastier and nastier the more inhospitable people are towards him (take his bedroom at the college, for example), and his behaviour with the eye is textbook behaviour of someone at the end of their tether.

The sad part is that the poor bastard likely hates his job and wants to leave the Thalmor, but knows that the only way one leaves the Thalmor is in a box. So he resigns himself to his fate and decides that if he’s going to go out, he’s going to go out with a bang, and he’s going to be comically camp whilst doing it because this is his last act.

… Give me a week and I could fix him. I feel like the entire time he was just inwardly screaming to be loved and wanted, he needed someone who would fight to know him, and resist his attempts to evade vulnerability.

I don't know much about karma but his lore seems batshit crazy and I'm all for it. I also love the the fact he speaks Spanish, as a spanish speaker myself I feel like I don't see that many places so seeing it here made me happy lol

But the reason why Karma's lore is chaotic (LMAO) is that (1) I'm trying out different things, and (2) that I'm still working on tying up him and his family's story. Since Karma is a vampire, he has lived at least 200 years so his character is RICH in lore. Plus, since his lineage stems from the 9th century - there is so much shit I have to do!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭

Like Anon I am trying SO hard not to double dip into revealing his lore - but since I have to make sure the details are adding up, I can't say nothing yet. But note there are a bunch of things coming up very soon!
