For those begging for dbhc mumbo angst, unfortunately (?) this is just about as bad as it gets for him (as far as I have planned, anyway). All I can think of when it comes to dbhc mumbo is how silly goofy pathetic he is so for now he gets spared from serious angst <3

(doc, on the other hand, gets closer and closer to combusting the more he gets to know everyone)

ok. ok. i KNOW i said the previous comic would be the last for a while. but. BUT. i thought a little too long about the sentimentality of scars, and the choice, the ability to prioritize feelings over function 🥺

once again, @shepscapades 's DBHC au, and in large part inspired by this specific drawing/info. while it's really no effort at all for etho to carry all that stuff in one arm, it's about. it's about him not having to, because they're equals, because they're friends, because his friend wants to help, even if he doesn't necessarily need it.

this year was pretty busy for me! I graduated uni in december, had a big project in january, started an SMP with some friends, moved out, got a new job and moved across the state, traveled a bunch, went to at least three other graduations... it was a lot! and I got a lot of writing done!

If i were to actually tally the amount i wrote this year it would probably be a good 30k more, since I have so much I wrote for just me, or just friends, or that isn't up to my publishing standard, or I can't post until later—all that stuff. Sometimes you write gift fics yk! fun stuff <33

When you said 'make mumbo even more downbad', I read 'make mumbo even more download' and I didn't know how Mumbo could be more downloadable, but I did know that the idea scared me.

Okay so it definitely wouldn't work in rift au but now im. Rotating Mumbo as a form of computer intelligence that can download into a robot [I guess???? kind of like DBH/ @/shepscapades DBHC AU which is lovely and everyone needs to go get their eyes on it STAT] [though, tbf, I am imagining an entirely different retrofuturism vibe. think more The Jetsons.] !!! Maybe he was human before and downloaded his brain and memories into a computer and it was installed into a robot so that he could live forever and then Scar and Grian are from the future where this is taking place and I could do a bunch of wild sci fi things with the s9 builds i am. hm. OH. OH. S6. GRIANS FUTURE BASE. HMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

(Mumbo was designed specifically for his redstone capabilities, but since this au started in season 8, Mumbo was also programmed to Not Kill Things as an effort from X to hopefully keep Grian from causing too much trouble… however grian and scar both have no clue and keep asking him to fetch things that Specifically Require Mob Drops which causes an endless cycle of mumbo creating ridiculous complicated contraptions to complete extremely mundane tasks, much to grian and scar’s bewilderment and amusement)

OKAY so I have a bunch of varying doodles for this au but for now take another mumble and friends

To clarify, here’s the dbh au concept: The au is mostly loyal to the hermitcraft setting (still minecraft etc), except X has brought/made a series of androids designed to aid and assist other hermits! I don’t have all of the pairs/groups figured out yet, but in this case, for example, mumbo is an android specializing in redstone tech that gets paired up with grian (scar pretends he’s mumbo’s godfather and his second owner in spirit) ! Do with this information what you will :] more art soon to come I pwomise
