The 3.74 meter reticulated python is finally finished, I am extremely proud, I feel like a peacock
There were probably more than a thousand pieces and I still have a 2.5 meter burmese degreasing and two other snakes in the freezer waiting to be cleaned and articulated
Ok, this is a little gross, so if you dislike gross or have a fear of snakes do not expand the post.
I found a dead garter snake in my back yard last week, and it had been there long enough to have all of these cool beetles devouring it, including this cool Margined Carrion Beetle (Oiceoptoma noveboracense). The beetle had died for whatever reason, I hope it maybe laid eggs in the snake carcass so its offspring can carry on.
yesterday i cleared some ivy and other invasives along the little brick wall up the drive and left my clippers out there on accident when i stumbled on poison ivy. when i went back to get them/check for more chanterelles by my car, i found this baby copperhead (!) who apparently died trying to eat a bug (cicada?) that was too big for its lil neck, and was being eaten by yellow jackets.
anyway, will not be doing yard work in shorts again.
we saved the body in hopes of somehow preserving both the skeleton and the cicada corpse, and i put some flowers out around it today for a little memorial. beautiful deadly baby. very good to know that there are probably between six and twenty more lil babies in the area... i am on constant alert now.
eta: kevin and i both absolutely seized our chance to touch it last night and it was so soft!
If I try to change places
it has already revived and escaped

This snake was a venomous snake(yamakagashi), and all I could see was that it was dead, but since it would be bad for a dog to eat poison, I decided to move it out of reach and bury it later. When I went to the site, it had disappeared. Was it pretending to be dead? Or was it really reanimated? A snake is a mysterious animal.
I started this year making a meme about John Green being back and I thought that would be the wildest thing to happen this year... Clearly I was wrong. I feel like the universe is just confused about what year it is... I'm in my mid 20s now and I don't need to be going through this again.
There are still another 15 or 17 snakes to work on, the good thing is that every time I do it faster, it only took me five days to organize and two to glue everything together
Bugs of some sort on a decaying snake. The snake was hit by a car, and currently resides in a hanging planter. No idea what these lik guys are, but they love the rotting flesh
