I was re-reading the Sports Festival arc, and accidentally came across a mention of one character who seemed familiar to me.

In fact, I quite quickly remembered where I saw him.

Source: Deku & Bakugo: Rising. This is a small spin-off that tells a story from the time when Izuku and Katsuki were in middle school.

To be honest, I'm always amazed at how much attention is paid to the extras at bnha. This hero was mentioned in passing only two times in the main manga, but later they decided to pay more attention to him. It's a minor detail, but I like it.

Been thinking about My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising and had to draw my favorites

I finally watched MHA Heroes Rising and now that movie is doing things to my BRAIN i need to rant.

Like, I feel like it's quite uncommon for a movie to tell us so much about characters like that. And I saw somewhere that it was Hori's original ending for the series and honestly that makes SOOOO much sense. But it also, weirdly enough, would place Bakugou as the protagonist of the series because he would be the one proving himself throughout. And the theme of the series would be a lot different from what it is now right now - it would be about giving second chances and room to grow. To see the emotionally constipated bully transform into the next symbol of peace and finally defeat AFO? It's a good narrative but it's questionable given that Midoriya is the main character... this ending would place him as a flat character who's only role is being self-sacrificial and unrealistically pure. Which... from what we've seen recently... that's a big misinterpretation of his character.

(however, if the series had been centered around Bakugou from the start, i wouldn't disagree that this story would be enjoyable. I think there's just more to this world than that.)

Anyways, disregarding Hori's supposed plans for the movie, what does it mean in canon? Is it canon? I have no fucking idea. Honestly, it feels a little bit of a stretch that OFA could have just been "momentarily transferred" into Bakugou for that one fight... and the whole idea that the Hero Commission just left students as the SOLE PROTECTORS of AN ENTIRE ISLAND????? Shady as hell. Although I can't say it's out of character for the Hero Commission as a whole... still. The whole premise is a little weird, and honestly, two heroes makes more sense in the canon world of MHA.

But if we were to consider the movie as canon, I honestly feel like the handover of OFA never happened. Especially given that Bakugou claims to have remembered none of the incident. It probably was just a moment of adrenaline for them both that made Izuku THINK he had passed down the power. To get them through the fight and shit, etc, etc. Having OFA work like that would just... completely change how it could be used in canon. Like, there are SO many possibilities that can't be ignored. But obviously, they are, cause it's a movie spinoff... like honestly, the movie would've worked much better as like a non-canon AU that ends with Bakugou getting OFA. Sticking it randomly into canon just feels... icky.

On the other hand, it was super fucking cool to watch bkdk use OFA side by side and uhh Shigaraki??? With his three-finger gloves and red coat???

Christmas gone downhill...?

Omg I just had a super angsty (--> to me) thought while watching rise of the guardians and I just thought of come kind of AU, where reader (You/Eva - your name in this story) has to get to know Jack frost.

And here’s the catch. 

You already know him. You are the great-great-great-...-great-granddaughter of Santa. And he’s told you everything. So, now you have to talk to a child-like boy, who had been drowning for the past hundred years and revived back to life because of the man in the moon. 

There’s also another thing. You don’t like him. At all. Not his little antics, not when he constantly asks you to say something in russian, throw snowballs at you, make jokes about you and how small you are despite your great-...-greatgrandfather being so damn tall. 

And you hate christmas too, which is another reason Jack doesn’t quite understand you. You are basically the descendant of the most cherished person from the most popular holiday of the year, which is loved by everyone- especially the children. 

Apropos children. They’re the reason you hate your entire existance and everything that surrounds you. Even your great-something-grandfather. 

...

One day, when you had to pack some toys for the kids again, you had a frown on your face. As always. Jack came into your view and you groaned, packing faster. 

“Heyy Eva, I think I know why you’re always this mad~!“

“And what could that be.“

“You don’t like christmas!“

“No shit.“

“Because of the elder people!“

“Why’s that?“

“Because they tell the children that North’s not real.“

You were stunned for a moment, a shocked expression on your face. “I-How did you know?”

Jack was happy that he guessed it right. But you had to crush down his dreams and tell him the truth. 

“But no, Jack. That’s not the truth- well, not the entire truth. come with me.“

Cue to you leading him into your room office, which was much more...spooky and scary and dark and romantic and-

Jack noted that he’s never been in your...personal four walls before, and he felt a little uneasy. 

“wanna have a seat?“, you gestured towards the ground, which looked just as comfy as the bed. How, he didn’t know. 

It was also much warmer in your room, but not in a suffocating way, but more...comforting.Jack sat down onto the soft bed of yours, and you sitting on your working table, one knee hiked on to your chest and the other hanging above the ground. 

You drove a little, old fashioned train around the wooden space provided next to you, before you sighed. 

“I don’t like christmas, because children throw away the stuff anyway, so why make it? Also, once they reach a certain age, they just...stop believing. And as you’ve said so earlier, it is also partially the parents’ or adults’ faults that the children stop believing. 

I mean, sure, the older you grow the more your start questioning things. But...why stop believing? Just because you’re not a kid anymore?“

“You know-“

“that we are only vvisible to children and that only children are going to believe in us? Sure, yeah, I get it alright. 

But...why? 

It just-...i-it just ruins everything, don’t you think so?“

You really left the joker speechless. 

He just sat there and looked at you through his greyish whimpers, your eyes cast down to the side in pure sadness. And in a matter of seconds, you were engulfed in a hug. 

“I know what you mean. I understand.“, Jack whispered, pulling you closer to him. you slowly brought your own arms over his back and hugged him back. It didn’t even last two seconds before your eldest relative stormed into your room. 

“Eva-OH-“

“Ah, Djed Moroz! I-uh-“, you pushed Jack away from you, missing the way his blush itensified, but a pout sprouted on his lips at the loss of body contact. 

“I can explain!“, you tried to reason and wanted to slap away the “knowing“-look the man with the long bear had. “No need to exolain, my dedushka, for I am happy for your decision. I hope that you two will-“

“IT’S NOT LIKE THAT, DJEDUSHKA!!!!“

It was only a while later that your embarassment died down that you could chill in your room again.But, your silence got interrupted by a certain white-haired boy with a power to create snow and mischief. 

“I forgot to ask you something.”, he stated, his cold feet making beautiful hexagon constellations on your nice carpet floor, making you growl at him for making the floor wet. (wink wonk😏)

“Spit it out. You see me doing somethin’, dont’cha??“

He made a clumsy pirouette and used it as an excuse to look around your room. Why was there so much...halloween stuff? You did know that you were in the holiday of love, laughter, gift giving and happy stuff. 

Not scaring, killing, vibing with the dead and bad stuff, right?

“Why...is your room, like, decorated like that?“

“Like what.“, you grunted, standing up from your desk chair and stretching, your back making perfect cracks. 

“Well, everything on your room is so...emo, and dark...and...well, halloween like, y’know? Wait...who’s that?“, the bey in the blue hoodie asked, snatching a polaroid of you showing the finger with a guy behind you. 

Except the guy had a hood over his head...and the lower half of his face was only the skull, not skin, or lips, red eyes staring into his soul. Behind you, there was a...scythe? 

What the hell?

You sighed, standing up and walking over to him. He then looked at you in the photo, wearing nice, modern emo clothing, with many bracelets, rings, chains, a corset, short skirt, blouse and stockings being barely visible. 

You had a blush on your face, something that he’d never thougth he’d see you have, but here he was, staring at the evidence with another weird feeling in his stomach. Only that the feeling was much less welcomed and slowly spread over his body until reached his heart. 

“Death...I...he’s a friend of mine...“, you said softly, taking the picture from him with a smile and placing it to where Jack got it from. Jack only mustered you with an unreadable expression. 

“‘Death?’ as in, the grim reaper?“

You nodded, your smile turning into a grin. 

Now it clicked. why you always dressed like you’d be attending a funeral later, your dark humour, and your room. It all made sense now. 

But...why did it feel so weird? That you were in love with somebody who’s job was to take the souls of the people who’ve sinned too much? 

He didn’t understand. jack couldn’t comprehend as to why or what you’d see in somebody like that guy. 

“You don’t know him like I do, Jack. 

He’s honest and he’s sweet-“

“Please, he’s the grim reaper!“

“And??? Why do you care so much?“, you asked, fed up with jack. Seriously, what’s his deal?

He just stared at you angrily, you looking at him with a confused expression. He looked at your left eye, then your lips, and switched over to your right eye, repeating the process a few times before groaning in frustration and storming off.
