2. Encourage Positive Reviews:
Proactively encourage satisfied patients to dentist reputation managementand testimonials about their experience with your dental practice. Implement strategies such as sending follow-up emails or text messages after appointments, including links to review platforms, and offering incentives or rewards for leaving feedback. Positive reviews not only enhance your online reputation but also serve as valuable social proof for potential patients.
3. Optimize Your Website:
Ensure that your dental practice website is user-friendly, visually appealing, and informative. Include essential information such as services offered, staff bios, office hours, contact details, and patient testimonials to provide visitors with a comprehensive overview of your practice. Optimize your website for search engines (SEO) to improve its visibility and ranking in search results, making it easier for prospective patients to find you online.

Orin Scrivello's Lost Head Prop: A Masterpost
Written and researched by Calliope Avery
Content Warning: Very very mild and low quality special effects gore, implied violence, uncanny valley stuff(?), Orin Scrivello's face.
Little Shop of Horrors (1986) has an unfortunate reputation of leaving a lot of really cool things on the cutting room floor. The most infamous would be the movie's original ending, a beautiful and impressive sequence of puppetry that ended up completely scrapped. However, today we're talking about a prop that never made it into the final movie in any form:
Orin Scrivello's Decapitated Head!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pictured above are the only 2 photos of the prop in its original state that I can find at the moment. The left photo was taken for promotion and advertising purposes, and the right image is actually a Topps trading card! (Which I have a physical copy of, hehe!)
To put it bluntly, I am slightly (very) obsessed with this prop head. There's so much mystery around it, and everything I've managed to dig up both fascinates me and makes me very upset. So much thought and hard creative work was put into the creation of this thing, and it was left completely left out and forgotten! I desperately want more people to be aware of this, so here is my big and (hopefully) well organized masterpost on everything for your learning pleasure. Alright, let's talk about some heads!!!!!!!!!
Forming a Timeline
The earliest mention of the head can be found in an early draft of the movie script, dated February 14th, 1985. There's plenty of concepts in this script that never seemed to get past this draft, but the severed head concept was not one of them. Here, take a look!
Tumblr media
source
This section, found on page 66 of the script, not only established the existence of the head, but also establishes the facial expression it will later take on! Clearly, this concept was good enough to be held onto once actual production started, which is good for us! If it wasn't, then this post would be a lot shorter.
Early production of the prop began after the actors were cast, as face molds of Steve Martin were created as bases for the head.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
source for the left image - source for the right image
Oooo, check these guys out!!! The left one is made of plaster, and the right one is made of rubber. The website sourcing these images included a quote from Steve Martin about the casting process. Here's the full provided quote:
"These molds were taken of my head for Little Shop of Horrors. It was cast on the lot at Pinewood Studios outside of London, and I got exceedingly claustrophobic during the casting. My entire head was covered with plaster and two straws were placed in my nose for breathing. Argh." - Steve Martin
I unfortunately don't have much information about the crafting process of the prop. I'm currently trying to track down anyone who could've worked on it, but the few people I've managed to contact haven't responded to me yet. So I can't say anything concrete about who worked on it and what went into creating it. The only thing I can assume somewhat confidently is that the creation of the prop happened around the same time as filming for Orin's scenes. It would allow them to make the face molds and also match up Martin's post-mortem Orin face with the facial expression of the prop.
Here's where it starts going downhill. From what I've found, the prop was never filmed with its face toward the camera. In the workprint that I accessed from the Internet Archive, the prop appears for 2 shots, and both of them only show the back of the head. Take a look:
source - timestamp: 1:02:59
[Video description: a low quality, slightly green tinted video depicting a deleted scene from Little Shop of Horrors (1986) where Seymour is feeding the decapitated head of the dentist, Orin Scrivello, to the plant. The video starts with a man in glasses reaching into a garbage can and pulling out a dark-haired decapitated head, holding it upside-down by the fabric on its neck. The head is faced away from the camera, so only the back of its hair is visible. There are vines flailing in the foreground of the shot. The video cuts to a shot of the plant puppet laughing silently. The video cuts again to a shot of the man slowly shuffling forward while dangling the head in front and away from himself. The plant is seen on the left side, still laughing and flailing its vines. Throughout the video, there are brief flashes of light that resemble lightning. The video's audio only consists of thunder noises and an unidentifiable sound that resembles chewing noises. End ID.]
My best guess for this choice is maybe it isn't as convincing when filmed? In the photos it looks really well made and realistic, but perhaps it didn't come across that way during shots. Regardless, the head was still in the film at this point, so that counts for something!
But as you and I both know, those 2 shots were left on the cutting room floor, completely removed from the final product. The prop was left completely unused and unspoken of... except for one instance.
Tumblr media
Remember the trading card I mentioned at the beginning? It's a part of a full set of trading cards that were made and distributed by the brand Topps. Back when the movie first came out, you could buy a pack of 5 mystery Little Shop of Horrors themed trading cards, along with a stick of bubblegum. This 44-card set is notable for featuring a lot, and I mean a LOT of images from cut movie scenes. There's photos of the original ending, there's photos from the cut sequence The Meek Shall Inhereit, and of course there's also the card featuring the prop head! However, those 2 sequences would later be rediscovered, cleaned up, and then added into the Director's Cut rerelease of the movie. The prop head wouldn't get this treatment, staying obscured, unknown, and unmentioned.
Fast forward about 30 years. A certain unused movie prop would be offered in an auction, allowing us to not only see high-quality photos of said prop in its current state, but also to allow us to know the exact materials it was made of! Without further ado, I present Orin Scrivello's decapitated head, circa 2018:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
source
This absolute freak of a guy was up for auction at the "Profiles in History: Icons and Legends of Hollywood" auction on June 5th, 2018. No one ended up buying it (I would. I need to buy it actually. Please sell it to me.), but the auction gives us some absolutely divine information about the prop, such as what it's made of and its dimensions! Here's a quote from the auction website describing its materials:
"Vintage original hollow cast resin character head painted in realistic flesh tones with brown eyebrows and eyes. The 13 x 8 x 9 in. head has been polyfoam filled for stability. Exhibiting cracks to the crown, which is brittle and with other wear and age. A striking likeness of Steve Martin. In vintage good condition."
How neat! The high-resolution images allow us to see the detailed sculpting of the prop, which is still evident and impressive with its age and missing parts! The creases on the forehead, and around the mouth and eyes, the realistically colored teeth, this was clearly sculpted with a lot of attention to detail. I would've loved to have an image like this back in the prop's prime, back when it still had hair and a fresh coat of paint.
Why was it Scrapped?
This is entirely just me theorizing, but I have a feeling it's for the same reason the original ending got snubbed.
If you take the time to watch the archived workprint, you'll find a lot of cuts and changes were made that changed the tone of the whole finished project. Orin's death and dismemberment scenes got edited down a lot. Shots of him struggling and knocking things down as he falls to the ground got cut, the voiceline where he begs Seymour for help is gone. The shot where Orin's legs jolt when Seymour brings down the axe is gone too.
It's not just Orin-related scenes either! Mushnik no longer cries out for Seymour when being killed and eaten, and that's ignoring how different the scene happens in the stage musical. And obviously, the entire ending got changed so that Audrey and Seymour survive, leading to the cut of the magnificent ending sequence where all the Audrey II's destroy New York. In a way, the film got murdered and gutted of any of its real horror, with attempts to cover up any of the blood they couldn't scrub out.
In the movie's later quest to rebrand as a softer version of itself, it only makes sense that 2 shots of a decapitated head wouldn't make it. The appearance of the dismembered leg made it through, probably because it's less gruesome, but a head is... different. I obviously think it should've been kept it in, along with almost everything they trimmed from the workprint, but alas.
Tldr, they cut the head off of the movie because it wasn't funny enough.
Conclusion
This is where the information I have ends, unfortunately. I do have more research routes I would like to take, but one of them involves desperately contacting random people who I suspect could've been involved (I've tried this, I've gotten no responses from those who I've managed to find an email for), and the other route involves taking a road trip to the actual goddamn Library of Congress, which is not something I can do right now or even in the near future. So this is probably as far as I'm getting!
However! If I find anything new, this post will be updated and/or remade again, depending on how big or little the info is. For now, I think this is good enough to share, and maybe letting people know will encourage others to research this prop as well! It'll probably be easier if it's not just me, y'know.
I'll finish by saying that I think research and preservation of art like this is very important. While it's common for cool artistic things to end up cut from movies, I think preserving that those cool things existed in the first place is something worth doing. Even though this prop head was a very small part of the movie, it's clear a lot went into creating it! I feel bad that I'm not able to credit any person or people for their work, but I hope getting the word out about it will do some justice.
If you've read this whole thing, thank you so much! I appreciate your interest and I thank you for taking the time to read all this. I hope you found it as interesting and fascinating as I do!
Oh, by the way, if this post looks familiar at all, you've probably seen the original version of this post I made awhile ago. I wasn't happy with the formatting of that post, and I ended up making too many discoveries to just continue updating it. I'll keep the original up to preserve it, but reblogs will be off for it, as I want this version to be the one to go around. Thanks!

CHAPTER II: the day after
warnings: mature language
a/n: 2.1K words
Tumblr media
IT WAS THE NEXT DAY AFTER HURRICANE AGATHA hit Kildare Island. Agatha did a decent amount of damage to the island. Trees were knocked down, roads were flooded, power was out, and cell phone towers were out. Seven and Susan were up at the crack of dawn to assess the damage done to their home. Thankfully, the only damage is a couple of broken windows from branches smacking into the glass and a few leaks but nothing that they couldn't fix. After making sure Seven was good, Susan went into work for her long shift at the Sheriffs department.
Now she was bored, she fixed everything that needed fixing. There was no power so she couldn't even occupy herself by catching up on her movies and shows. She also didn't have her car. It was taken away and sold after she went to juvie. But she did still have her BMX bike. She went to garage to search for it and she found it in the deepest corner collecting dust. She pulled it out only to find out that both tires were beyond flat and the chain was snapped.
"Seriously?" Seven groaned.
Unfortunately, Seven would of taken the bike to Gaz's Auto Shop but couldn't due to her mandatory check in with her probation officer Michael Rhodes in twenty minutes. For the next six months Seven has to check in with Rhodes or she gets shipped back to the mainland but this time in adult jail for a long time. Seven didn't want to go to adult prison so she made a promise to her mother that she won't miss a check in or take a risk by violating the rules. So Seven grabbed her bookbag filled with extra clothes and snacks and walked to probation office.
It took fifteen minutes but she made it with a couple of minutes to spare. She walked into the office and it wasn't that busy, thank god, only three people in there.
"I'm here for my check in with Michael Rhodes" Seven stated to the receptionist.
"Okay, he's on a call right now but I'll grab you once he's finished" The receptionist answered. Seven nodded and took a seat by the door. She sat there looking around at the dumb motivational quotes on the walls. No one pays attention to them and it felt like she was sitting in a dentist office.
"Peterkin, your probation officer is ready for you" The receptionist called out.
Seven got up from the very uncomfortable waiting chair and walked to office in the back of the building. She took a seat in a chair in front a dark skinned male that looked stressed.
Tumblr media
(Played by John David Washington)
"Seven Peterkin, daughter of Susan Peterkin and Bishop Westcott. Did ten months in a Juvenile Detention Center on the mainland for criminal trespass and second-degree assault. You got a pretty big reputation on this island kid, everywhere I turn somebody has something to say about Seven Peterkin, the Sheriff's daughter" Rhodes stated.
"I really don't care about what people say about me" Seven shrugged and sat back in the chair she was sitting in.
"Yeah I could tell by the way you look. You don't have a care in the world. I've met a lot of kids like you, putting on a facade to either please others or themselves. That tough girl act ain't gonna work with me" Rhodes spoke.
Seven let out a chuckle, "You just assumed that I'm putting on a tough girl act by the way I look? That's hilarious."
"Oh so you like to laugh huh? Okay, since you think everything is hilarious to you, here are my rules. You are prohibited from drinking and smoking, your curfew is at 10:00 not a minute later, you are to comply to any search and seizures I deem necessary, maintain good behavior and good grades once school reopens, participate in anger management counseling, and serve 520 hours of community service. Failure to adhere to these rules will result in a probation revoke and being shipped back to a much more stricter juvenile detention center." Rhodes informed the girl.
"Anger management? Are you serious? I don't need no anger management counseling" Seven scoffed.
"Mandatory anger management counseling starting tomorrow morning at 8am" Rhodes emphasized.
Seven let out another scoff but no more words were said from the teenager.
"Glad we're on the same page. Now take this cup, pee in it, and leave it on the outside table" Rhodes ordered and handed Seven a piss cup. She rolled her eyes before taking the cup. But before she left her eyes caught something on the man's file cabinet. It was a picture, a picture of Rhodes and Ezekiel smiling hard. It looked at least a few years old because Rhodes didn't have a full grown beard in the picture.
"Is there a problem Peterkin?" Rhodes questioned.
Seven turned toward him, "Nah, no problem at all."
She left the office and did her business in the bathroom and left the man's office. The teenager quickly left the building and walked towards the docks. She sat at the end of the dock feeling upset. No matter what, she could not escape her evil stepfather. Everywhere she turned someone knew him or was extremely loyal to him. It was frustrating because all she wanted was to at least go a day without seeing his face.
"Seven!"
She looked up at the yell of her name to see her friends pulling up in the HMS Pogue. She jumped into the boat as John B was pulling up and then he sped off down the ravine.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The group of five were enjoying their time, laughing and giggling at each other. Pope was now driving the boat and Kiara, JJ, and John B were drinking beers. Seven was drinking orange juice from a crushed water bottle, the events from earlier long forgotten in her mind. She was having a good time with her friends so she focused on that.
"Let me show you a party trick" JJ said and walked to the front of the boat. "Hey Pope, can you go a little faster please?"
"Oh no" Seven muttered. The brown skinned girl sat on the front of the boat next to Kie.
"Oh god, here we go, I'm moving. It doesn't work, we've tried this like 6,000 times" John B groaned and moved the back of the boat.
"I got this, it's gonna work!" JJ yelled in reassurance. Seven watched JJ tilt his head back and hold his beer up to let the wind guide the beer into his mouth. He tried it all the time and he never succeeded but JJ was determined to succeed one day.
"Oh my god, you're getting beer in my hair" Kiara exclaimed. Seven put her hand up to shield her from the many droplets of the beer.
"All right! All right" Pope yelled and also shielded his eyes from the beer. All of his friends were yelling at JJ to stop with the beer but Seven stood up and grabbed JJ from behind. The two started to wrestle but suddenly the boat jerked violently and sent the two teens flying into the water.
"Jesus Pope" Kiara exclaimed.
After a moment, JJ and Seven resurfaced groaning, "Dude, you kneed me in my face" Seven groaned.
"I didn't mean too." JJ countered and floated on the surface. Seven can taste something metallic in her mouth.
"You guys okay?" Pope asked his friends in the water.
"I think my heels touched the back of my head" JJ moaned painfully. Seven just gave Pope a thumbs up in response.
"What the hell happened Pope?" Seven questioned and started swimming to the side of the boat.
"Sandbar. The channel changed" Pope answered the girl.
"No shit" JJ mocked the boy and swam to the boat. Seven pulled herself onto the boat. Once she's on the boat she pulled off of her soaking wet tank top, leaving her in a black sports bra and soaked gray shorts. Thankfully, she took her shoes off a while ago.
John B glanced around the marsh, "This is probably gonna mess this whole place up" He commented.
"Hey, I saved the beer though."
"Congrats JJ" John B said unenthusiastically.
Seven still tasted metal in her mouth. So she put her finger on her lip and felt a thick substance on it. She realized that JJ kneeing her in the face made her bite the inside of her lip hard. She grabbed a napkin and placed it on her lip.
"Guys...I think there's a boat down there" Seven heard Pope say. She looked up from her napkin to see Pope at the front of the boat looking over the edge.
"Shut up" John B dismissed.
"No way" Kiara waved the Heyward boy off.
Seven walked to the front of the boat where Pope is. Her eyes widen a bit when she saw a sunken boat. "Holy shit, there is a boat down there" Seven said. John B and Kiara joined the two at the tip of the boat and saw what Pope and Seven were seeing.
Seven tossed the napkin to the side before diving back into the water. John B and Kiara jumped in after her.
"Think there's a dead body down there?" Pope questioned as he struggled to take his shirt off. Eventually, he jumped in the water. The five friends all swam down to the boat but only got to look at it for half a second before they had to swim back to the surface for air.
"You guys saw that right?" JJ questioned the group.
"Hell yeah we did" Seven responded. The rest of the friends agreeing with the Peterkin girl. "It looked like a Grady-White" Seven said and swam to the boat.
"It is a grady-white, a new one of those is like 500 Gs, easy" JJ informed the group. The five teenagers all pulled themselves up onto the boat soaking wet, "That's a primo rig."
"Yeah, that's the boat I saw when I surfed the surge. Maybe it hit the jetty or something" John B questioned.
"You surfed the surge without me? The betrayal" Seven commented.
"I called you like four times" John B answered.
"You did? Whoops" Seven shrugged. The girl sat at the back of boat and shook her to get rid of the excess water in her hair.
"You surfed the surge?" Kiara questioned.
"That's my boy. Pogue style" JJ complimented and dapped John B.
"Wait, wait. Do we know whose boat that is?" Pope asked.
"No, but we're about to find out" John B replied.
"Dude, it's too deep" JJ commented.
"Oh, for the weak and feeable, JJ" John B remarked as he pulled out the anchor from the boat.
"Well, I'm not resuscitating you. I'm just making that clear up front" JJ added.
"I'm not either so don't ask" Seven commented.
"Betrayal Sev" John B joked. Seven just shrugged and put on a tank top. The Routledge boy made his way to the front of the boat with the anchor in his hands getting ready to dive down.
"John B..." Kie sighed.
John B just chuckled, "What?"
Seven glanced at the Carrera girl who had a look of disapproval on her face. It was pretty known that this group of friends love to do dangerous stuff, it was in their blood, especially the three Mustard-teers (JJ, John B, and Seven). Always finding or putting themselves in dangerous situations.
"Diver down, fool" Pope saluted.
"Diver down" John B saluted back.
Seven then pushed the tall boy into the water with a laugh. The four friends waited overlooking the side of the boat for their friend. It felt like eternity when suddenly John B popped up to the surface.
"Oh my god, that took forever" Kiara sighed.
"Any dead bodies?"
"Looting potential?"
Pope and JJ spit questions at John B which to replied no too. But he held up an familiar hotel key.
"I found an motel key though" John B stated. Pope and Seven helped him get back on the boat while JJ pulled the anchor up.
"I know where this is. I've been there before" Seven informed the group. The curly haired girl then got behind the wheel of the boat to drive to their destination.
"You've been to a motel before?" Pope questioned.
Seven smirked, "Yeah, it was either a motel or the back of a Kia Soul...Kia Soul's are very tight can't really do too much in there."
A disgusted expression appeared on Kiara's face while JJ and John B agreed with the girl. Pope didn't know how to respond to that so he decided to sit down.
"Guys, we should report the wreck to the coast guard, maybe we'll get a finder's fee" Kiara suggested.
"Yeah, and not work all summer. Thanks, Agatha, ya batch" JJ added.
Hi Pasta!!
I have a random question that popped up in my head the other day
Does Jane do the thread work in every city she's lived in? Like, does she ever do random jobs for anonymity purposes, ones that aren't linked to her abilities? I imagine it's much easier to track down a psychic than it is to find someone who has been working as a preschool teacher or someone working the front desk at a dentist office.
Again, just a shower thought that came to me during a reread🤣
Oooooh now this is a good question and it's not one I think will ever come up in a meaningful way in the fic so I feel free to answer it, too!
So she doesn't do exactly what she's doing in every city, no, although she often finds ways to use her threads to her benefit - I've mentioned before when she first hit Los Angeles as a teen, she got roped into a new-agey sort of shop, doing tarot like a very poorly paid trick pony - she'd use her thread abilities to make accurate enough predictions that she was worth keeping around. She pulled similar tricks in other cities early on (she's quite good at reading tarot now for others, ironically), and then on and off in various cities after, because it's hard to walk away from all the money on the table. The psychic business category alone is, if I remember my research correctly, around 90k businesses in the US, and makes about 2 billion annually. It's likely even bigger of a business in the TRT universe since the existence of enhanced people might encourage more people to go looking for psychics to help with their problems. That means billions and billions of dollars changing hands.
And money, as we know with her, is a big lure. BUT, as you said, yeah, she quickly figured out hey, I can't do this every time because that forms a pattern (which is bad). Some of it also depends on where she is - there might be way more (real or not) psychics around for her to hide amongst like in NYC, or there may be fewer. The latter cities are where she's more likely to find a different job - and she's not above faking her qualifications to get in, as long as it's a job she can actually do. She knows how to manage a store, she knows how to draw blood and so has done a round or two as a phlebotomist. Hell, she did construction under the table for a bit in Pittsburgh.
But she keeps coming back to psychic.
She's got a method for those cities now - there's a reason she's working alongside Maya, and why Maya's name is the big name on the business and hers is advertised by reputation only (hiding herself beneath two extra layers of names, essentially). There's a reason she targets specific kinds of rich - she wants the rich who are either smart enough to follow contracts (Wesley), or wary enough that they're worried about others stealing away their favorite psychic and so keep their mouths shut (or decide to hire her on at a high enough rate that she can work solely for them). And above all, her rule is to run before she gets too big. Essentially playing psychic is a tradeoff - a larger payday in exchange for a shorter timeframe in the city, as opposed to the slow and steady trickling of another job where she can stay longer. She's followed that rule for years now - either quiet jobs to take the heat off, or short bursts of psychic activity that make her a ton of money before she fades out and vanishes in 6 months to a year, finding a new name, and a new city.
Until New York City...
And until Matt...
The Ultimate Guide to Choosing the Right Dental Implant Training Courses
Introduction:
In the ever-evolving field of dentistry, staying abreast of the latest advancements is paramount to success. Dental implant procedures have become increasingly popular due to their efficacy in restoring smiles and oral functionality. Consequently, dentists keen on expanding their skill set and offering these services seek comprehensive training courses. However, with a myriad of options available, selecting the right dental implant training courses can be a daunting task. Fear not!
This ultimate guide is designed to steer you through the selection process, ensuring you embark on a journey of knowledge acquisition and professional growth.
Assess Your Current Skill Level: Before delving into the plethora of training courses available, take stock of your current proficiency in dental implantology. Are you a novice seeking foundational knowledge or an experienced practitioner aiming to refine advanced techniques? Understanding your skill level will help narrow down the myriad of courses to those most suitable for your needs.
Accreditation and Certification: opt for courses accredited by reputable dental organizations and recognized by relevant authorities. Accreditation ensures that the curriculum meets industry standards and that you receive a quality education. Additionally, obtaining certification from recognized bodies enhances your credibility and instills confidence in patients.
Curriculum and Course Content: Scrutinize the curriculum offered by each training program. A comprehensive course should cover topics such as implant selection, treatment planning, surgical techniques, prosthetic components, and patient management. Look for courses that blend theoretical knowledge with hands-on clinical experience to provide a well-rounded learning experience.
Faculty Expertise and Experience: Investigate the credentials and experience of the faculty members involved in delivering the course. Faculty members with extensive experience in dental implantology bring valuable insights and practical wisdom to the learning process. Their expertise can significantly impact the quality of education you receive.
Hands-on Training Opportunities: Practical experience is indispensable in mastering dental implant procedures. Choose courses that offer ample hands-on training opportunities using state-of-the-art simulation models or live patient interactions under supervision. Hands-on experience allows you to apply theoretical knowledge in a controlled environment, enhancing skill acquisition and confidence.
Continuing Education and Support: Dental implantology is a dynamic field characterized by constant innovation and technological advancements. Select training programs that offer ongoing support and opportunities for continuing education. Access to resources such as webinars, workshops, and online forums enables you to stay updated with the latest trends and refine your skills over time.
Peer Reviews and Testimonials: Seek feedback from past participants or colleagues who have undergone the training courses you're considering. Honest reviews and testimonials provide valuable insights into the strengths and weaknesses of each program, helping you make an informed decision.
Cost and Value Proposition: While cost is undoubtedly a factor to consider, prioritize the value proposition offered by each training course. Evaluate the overall benefits, such as the quality of education, hands-on experience, accreditation, and post-training support, against the cost incurred. Remember, investing in a high-quality education is an investment in your professional growth and success.
Flexibility and Convenience: Consider the format and schedule of the training courses in relation to your availability and preferences. Whether you prefer intensive residential programs, weekend workshops, or online modules, choose a format that aligns with your learning style and lifestyle commitments.
Networking Opportunities: Building a professional network within the dental implantology community is invaluable for career advancement and collaboration. Opt for courses that facilitate networking opportunities through interactions with peers, mentors, and industry experts. A robust professional network can open doors to mentorship, referrals, and collaborative ventures in the future.
In conclusion, selecting the right dental implant training courses is a pivotal step towards advancing your career and delivering exceptional patient care. By assessing your needs, scrutinizing course offerings, and considering factors such as accreditation, curriculum, hands-on experience, and ongoing support, you can embark on a journey of continuous learning and professional excellence. Remember, investing in education is investing in your future success as a proficient and respected dental implantologist. Choose wisely and let your commitment to excellence pave the way for a fulfilling and rewarding career in dental implantology.
Tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum, Solanaceae - Nightshade Family)
Native to Mesoamerica though via colonization tomatoes became a signature ingredient in European cuisines (eg. Italian). Modern cuisines worldwide, in fact, would look much different if Indigenous Americans were unaware of the brilliance of the tomato.
Interestingly, the fruits were previously shunned and thought to be deadly poisonous by Europeans and American settlers. This scenario has lent itself to the term 'tomato effect.'
Coined in the Journal of the American Medical Association 27 years ago, the tomato effect describes the rejection of highly efficacious therapies by the medical establishment because they happen to go against the prevailing conventional wisdom.
Imported from the New World, “By [the year] 1560, the tomato was becoming a staple of the continental European diet…[A]t the same time it was actively shunned in North America [for literally centuries]… The reason…is simple: they were poisonous. Everyone knew they were poisonous, at least everyone in North America. It was obvious.”
Examples of this tomato effect—a slavish devotion to orthodoxy—are mentioned in medicine. For example, ignoring the successful use of this plant in the treatment of gout for a thousand years before modern medicine “discovered” it was the drug colchicine. Aspirin was also ignored for almost 3,000 years of successful use as willow tree bark extract.
Tomatoes used to grow as wild as weeds in Central and South America. The Aztecs and Incas were among the first known to use the plant in their food.
They have an unmistakeable bright cheery taste which fits into the savory & umami flavor categories. They are also very cooling and hydrating in nature, which allows it to harmonize perfectly with the sunny days of its growing season. A simple taste of tomatoes captures the essence of such days. It's no wonder why it is one of the most consumed "vegetables" in the United States, even critical to many fast food dishes.
The leaves of the tomato have also been feared, even into our current times. But many have eaten & cooked with it, though it would be unwise to consume the leaves in excessive portions, which is the same for any one leafy green. Due to the content of antinutrients in leafy greens combined with the varied ability to handle these antinutrients (eg. oxalates), which is thought to change according with one's genetics & gut microbiome status, eating an assortment of different greens is a general nutritional recommendation.
The tomato fruit is a notable source of Vitamins C, E, and K, potassium, and lycopene (an antioxidant, and thus gives tomato the reputation of aiding prevention against inflammation-related diseases and imbalances). On a similar vein, it is brewed as tea, though very rarely, to bring relief to cold & flu symptoms.
Nutrient absorption of the tomato is thought to be improved once cooked or processed in other ways which softens the cell walls. The combination of tomatoes and olive oil may also been an intuitive realization of increased nutrient absorption.
The fruit is a main ingredient in the following: sauces like marinara, ketchup, salsa, pico de gallo, tomato paste, tomato juice, tomato soup, gazpacho, pizza, ratatouille, paella, tagine, bravas sauce, shakshuka, fried green tomatoes, jollof rice, tomato galettes, butter chicken, tikka masala, saneyet batates, burgers, etc.
Its flowers tend to be small and yellow. The flower's energies have been captured in vibrational flower essences. They're thought to hold a 'warrior energy,' with qualities of mental strength and endurance. It has been reported to aid with nightmares, depression due to unhappiness with one's weight, dentist's office anxiety, pets with uncontrollable fear or a history of traumatic abuse, and addiction management.
Elevating Dental Practices: The Power of Google Ads for Dentists
In today's digital age, online visibility is crucial for any business, including dental practices. Google Ads, the online advertising platform by Google, offers dentists a powerful tool to connect with potential patients and grow their practices. This article explores the significance of google ads for dentists, the benefits it provides, and effective strategies to ensure success in this highly competitive industry.
The Landscape of Dental Marketing
Marketing for dental practices has evolved significantly over the years. Traditional methods like flyers and local advertising still have their place, but the digital realm is where modern dentists can truly make their mark. The internet has changed how patients search for dental services, making online presence vital for success.
The Role of Google Ads
Google Ads, formerly known as Google AdWords, is an advertising platform where businesses can create and display ads on Google's search engine and partner websites. For dentists, Google Ads offers several advantages:
Targeted Reach: Google Ads allows you to target your ads to specific geographic areas, ensuring that your dental practice is visible to potential patients in your vicinity.
Instant Visibility: With Google Ads, your practice can appear at the top of Google's search results, even if your website is not yet ranking there organically.
Cost Control: Dentists have complete control over their advertising budget, with options for daily or monthly spending limits.
Performance Metrics: Google Ads provides detailed analytics to monitor the performance of your campaigns, giving you valuable insights into what's working and what's not.
Ad Customization: Dentists can create compelling, visually appealing ads that showcase their dental services, patient testimonials, and special offers.
Effective Google Ads Strategies for Dentists
Keyword Selection: Choose relevant keywords that potential patients might use when searching for dental services. These may include terms like "family dentist," "teeth whitening," or "dental implants."
Ad Extensions: Utilize ad extensions to include additional information about your dental practice, such as location, contact details, and specific dental services you offer.
Negative Keywords: Implement negative keywords to filter out irrelevant traffic. For example, if your practice doesn't offer orthodontics, add "orthodontics" as a negative keyword.
Mobile Optimization: Optimize your ads for mobile users, as many patients use smartphones to search for dental services.
Geo-Targeting: Geo-target your ads to reach users in your local area who are more likely to become your patients.
Quality Score: Work on improving your ad's quality score, which is determined by factors like ad relevance, landing page quality, and click-through rate. A higher quality score can lead to lower costs and better ad placement.
Benefits of Google Ads for Dentists
Increased Visibility: Google Ads ensures that your dental practice is prominently featured in search engine results, significantly boosting your online visibility and attracting potential patients.
Cost-Effective Advertising: With budget control and the pay-per-click model, you can manage your advertising costs efficiently and achieve a high return on investment.
Targeted Marketing: You can precisely target your ads to reach local patients who are more likely to visit your dental practice, maximizing your advertising efforts.
Immediate Results: Unlike some marketing strategies that take time to yield results, Google Ads provides instant visibility, making it ideal for promoting dental services, special offers, and events.
Analytics and Optimization: Google Ads offers comprehensive analytics, allowing you to track your campaigns' performance and make data-driven decisions for optimization.
Competitive Advantage: By using Google Ads, you can stay ahead of your competition and ensure that potential patients find your dental practice first.
Conclusion
In the competitive world of dentistry, it's essential for dental practices to establish a robust online presence and connect with potential patients efficiently. Google Ads provides dentists with a powerful tool to do just that. By implementing effective Google Ads strategies, you can increase your dental practice's online visibility, attract new patients, and ultimately build a thriving and successful practice. In a digital age where the right online marketing can set your practice apart, embracing Google Ads for dentists is a smart investment in your practice's future.
Reactions As I Read: ● this is (if I remember correctly) my first time reading the Riddler in comics! ● (btw, Cory Michael Smith is fabulous as Nygma in Gotham. Aaaand, I have only two degrees of separation from him thanks to a cousin who taught some of the classes where he went to college!) ● (pg 4) wow that scowl of Riddler's is intense! ● oh, it's spelled "Nigma" here ● I like the sepia-toned flashback panels ● (pg 9) ohhh, Eddie admits to cheating. I thought he disliked being accused of that. But I only know him from non-comic book sources, so… ● (pg 10) at least the poor kid who was getting bullied before gets a bit of a break. ● Brian T. Zer = brain teaser. cute ● (pg 17) the tiny parachutes! 💙 ● "Why did the cottage go on a diet?" - hmm… I dunno ● "When's the best time to go to the dentist?" - 2:30 (tooth hurty) ● "What day do soldiers hate the most?" - uh… March fourth? ● riddle 1 - ah, to be a lighthouse (I was right on the other two) ● (pg 20) oo, nice entrance by B-man ● I love the inking and color styles; makes the art feel very noir ● I bet Bruce Wayne is missed at this fundraiser ● … how else does one pronounce "banquet"?
● Query and Echo are having so much fun. I kind of love them. ● (pg 48) Yo-Yo Ma gets a mention! (wrong instrument, though) ● (pg 52) ahhh, I wondered why they'd let him keep his clothes in Arkham! It was a delusion. ● 👏👏👏
Synopsis: The Riddler, occupying an observation room at Arkham Asylum, expresses his annoyance with the inept psychiatrists' repeated attempts to pierce his psyche, and decides to give them what they want: the story of his life, how he became a criminal, and why he repeatedly opposes Batman.
As a child, Edward was a cipher, ignored by even the playground bullies at his school. Hungry for attention (especially with ignorant, unloving parents), the young Edward began his "career" in the sixth grade by cheating at a solve-the-puzzle contest - by sneaking into the school the night before the contest, he was able to practice solving the puzzle, and easily won the contest. Edward's fame proved to be fleeting, however, and the young boy realized that to keep the attention he so craved, he had to turn to his true talent: cheating.
After graduating, Edward became a deliveryman, a job he found extremely tedious. Out of boredom and greed, he began stealing from his clients, but even this could not satisfy his ego. Eventually, he donned the alias of "the Riddler", and started sending riddles to the police foreshadowing his future crimes. The Riddler's early career was fraught with many difficulties, missteps, and a narrow escape from Batman, but nevertheless, he managed to accrue a respectable amount of loot and two loyal henchwomen named Query and Echo.
With Query and Echo, the Riddler came to the crowning caper of his early career: a raid on the Reservoir Street depository that completely misled the police and left him with two million dollars. Once again, Batman narrowly failed to capture him, giving the Riddler a more impressive reputation than ever. Now overconfident, the Riddler planned an even bigger caper: stealing a set of Stradivarius violins from both a private collector and a public opera. Unfortunately, Batman quickly put an end to this caper, handing the Riddler his first unqualified defeat.
As he recounts his humiliation at Batman's hands, the present-day Riddler begins to have a meltdown. In a fit of psychosis, he breaks the one-way glass between him and his doctors, only to realize that his doctors had left on lunch break; he had been telling his life's story to thin air all along. Orderlies rush in and subdue him, leaving the Riddler near-catatonic and muttering "no one there…" on an endless loop.
Something that I always thought as a teenager when I was active in the SFW fandom
I always saw Stoker as a bastard son of Dracula
First he is obviously a fan. He dresses up like him and absolutely wants and tries too hard to be scary and mean to the point he is a bully during the first half of the show (before little by little opening up as a better person thanks to his schoolmates being good influences on him) even if as the show proves his real nature is kinder but he toughens himself up to be the perfect and scariest vampire, his objective
Dracula is a superstar in the vampire world, and is admired for being absolutely cruel, dangerous and a professional blood sucker, like even his former dentist has a picture of him the same way hotels or shops who had a celebrity over keep and present to give themselves a good publicity
Tumblr media
So sure Stoker could be just a cosplaying fanboy trying to give himselg his favorite star's personality. He is a little boy after all
But I always was very intrigued by this short shot of how he keeps a picture of himself meeting Dracula near his coffin
Tumblr media
He is absolutely excited to meet him, it's probably the happiest he looks in the whole show. Dracula however looks... confused and even annoyed at having such a clingy fan and probably accepted to pose for the portrait solely for his reputation but probably walked away ignoring him as fast as he could
Sure that could be just Stoker fanboying that he met his favorite star and cherishing that memory
But he seems to cherish it a little too much to my tastes. We see that as a parrallel to Wolfie who keeps a picture of his parents near his bed, Stoker keeps this picture. Not a picture of his parents. And is VERY ANGRY and defensive as if you stole money from him when Wolfie, who was said he could sleep ib his coffin, had replaced that picture with his own. As if you had touched a precious relic he did not want to lose, and as if he felt the same way about him the way Wolfie feels about his parents
Plus, notice how he looks similar to Dracula not just in clothes and haircut. Black hair color aside, both have wide ears that stick out and a big oval head, and even if their eyebrows tehnically have different shapes, they are similar enough to give them the same look when he frowns
Tumblr media
So... are they related ? And since he sees him like a parent and looks up to him a bit too much, is he his actual father ?
But his last name isn't Dracula. So... is he a bastard ?
My theory is Dracula being a celebtrity must have a lot of fangirls, and must also have the kind of crazy ones who absolutely want a baby out of them. One managed to bed him but of course got herself pregnant and tried to have him recognize the baby as his. Which, since he is described as not a good person and is famous for it, he would probably deny and tell them to scram giving 0 shit about them. Now Stoker's mother probably either neglected him for "not being worthy of Dracula enough" since he seems to lack any parental guidance and tries to have Dracula thus become his new one hencr why he adores him and suffers how he is so far away and doesn't aknowledge him, or she raised him filling his head with how much he is amazing and how he should be like him and thus would make his best to be noticed and become basically Dracula 2
2 things are sure
Dracula is an ass
Stoker needs better parent figures
